Guest janetO
Currently using Maybelline Pure Makeup.. I quite like it cause its good for oily skin but it doesnt properly cover my red cheeks.. I think it kind of enhances it =/
deppstar
for most ppl who put liquid or powder foundation, does it take time for the makeup to "set"? like when you put it on it looks a bit cakey/obvious but after a few hours it looks very natural? do all foundations do that or are there some that "set" very fast like under an hour? also, is powder foundation the same as BareMinerals type? or is it something completely different? also this is another weird question ^^;; since I have somewhat big pores I've always been against using foundation b/c I feel I can never achieve that 'flawless' look So i get self-conscious with foundation on b/c I think ppl notice how unnatural my makeup might look when i do put foundation on (liquid or mineral etc) and I stare @ myself 2 inches closeup to the mirror it's obvious i have makeup on. Is that normal? or are there some ppl on soompi who have great skin/brand of makeup/technique that it looks near 'flawless' even from up up close? sorry if it doesn't make sense. Or as long as you look good enough @ a certain distance that makeup is done right? yes it takes time to set for me. the foundation need to sink into your skin and oils. usually I have to blot after 2-3 hrs, that's when you can truly see if the foundation is the right shade for you, or if it had oxidised to a darker shade. i got big pores too!!! at my inner cheeks. try using some pore coat before your makeup? or get a foundation that caters to covering pores. I know, if you look really closely, it looks like your face has tons of makeup caked on,esp when I use 2-way cake. But if you look normally, it looks ok. =) Or maybe you can get a loose powder with coverage. it's finer and not as thick as 2 way cake. A more natural finish will be using liquid foundation/bb cream. Personally, I find bb cream gives you better coverage and smoother finish. I'm waiting for my everydaymineral shipments to arrive so I can play about with MMU, so I cannot comment if MMU gives a more natural finish. But apparently, it's what people had been raving about. good coverage, very natural look, and able to cover all sorts of blemishes. but in the mineral world, Most of the foundations are in loose form. there are some in pressed form. Pressed form is getting quite popular

Guest nanshi
I'm in need of a natural finishing foundation.. does anyone have any suggestions on some really good coverage that are DEWY and not matte? BB Cream. I use Missha BB Cream, and once I put it on, even though I'm not oily at all, there is a noticeable dewy glow around my cheeks and basically... where the light naturally hits my face. It's really great...!!
Guest Jasmine ♥
Has anyone tried Clinique's Almost Powder? Could I wear it alone, or would it be too sheer? Because I dont' really like wearing liquid foundation X| Another thing, what do you use to apply powder foundation? Except a powder puff. Do you use a regular powder brush, buffer, or kabuki brush? Guest Romancer.
I want to try Everyday minerals concealer but I don't know which ones to choose! I have pale skin like this & yellow undertones. However, I also have red cheeks and dark dark under eye circles... Should I get: Sunlight - for dark eye circles Lavendar - neutralise the yellow undertones Mint - for the redness Pick me up pink - brightens for dull skin
Guest hanhniee
Even though I rarely wear make up I recommend Everyday Minerals. I recently ordered my sample kit and I loved it. I tried Bare Essenctuals before and I must say Everyday Minerals is way better. Oh and I am also falling in love with Smashbox's new High Definition Healthy FX Foundation ( a part of the makeup that was used on me for prom). Guest rinringo
Concealer: i barely use concealer, but i have the Revlon Age Defying Concealer (hehe and i'm 17) this is suchhh a good concealer. it's for undereyes, scars, and pimples >D I KNOW I KNOW, it's AGE DEFYING. but whatever, it's smooth and it works XD Foundation La Roche-Posay Toleriane + ROC Minesol Protect SPF 60 yupp! good stuff. i bought my foundation a shade darker so that when i mix it in with my sunscreen, it'll be the perfect colour. Because i have dry skin, i mix my foundation with either sunscreen or moisturizer. It makes it look less caky ^^; and i love my super asian white skin, i use sunscreen XD this stuff hides SOOO WELL! it makes my left red cheek look normal haha Powder CoverGirl Pressed Powder. Doesn't stay on for very long.. @@ i gotta re-apply it often...but i love the smell haha

Guest rinringo
lol; I'm 17 too & sometimes I end up with cakey skin if I use foundation which is totally annoying... Does sunscreen actually cover up pink-ness? dear momo panda, umm nope, the sunscreen is just for sunprotection, moisturizer, and a smooth feel to the foundation ^^; ..so it won't hide anything ^^; and you said that the skin feels cakey, so adding sunscreen or moisturizer to your liquid foundation would be a good idea =) the foundation evens out your skintone, so it should be good to cover up a little of the pinkness pink cheeks right? get a stick concealer in GREEN, yes green XD.. it neutralizes the skin colour and it works magically if you put on the foundation in the next step a good green stick concealer is..either avene or physician's formula..there's always the maybelline one, but i dislike it eep. fast edit. always use your ring finger to dab foundation!! NEVER harsh wipe it...it causes wrinkles >< i tell this to everyone XD. tricks of the trade <

lilveggie
deppstar yes. you are truly crazy. that must have costed you a fortune XD and I thought I was crazy for ordering a custom mini kit without having found my perfect foundation match. But I've got to say, I love the feeling of their makeup, it feels so light weight that I forget I have it on! And my friends just comment on how much clearer my skin looks lol. My only problem is it transfers to whatever I rub onto =( (I roll my face onto my textbooks in times of boredom... which happens quite so oftenly) I hope that the finishing powder/ silkdust that I've ordered would set the foundation into place and stop the transfers xD romancer. I have the mint concealer but it is a bit tricky to use - according to the forum-ers of EM, they suggest to first mix a bit of the mint concealer with a bit of the foundation to coverup the redness. I have intensive medium concealer and it works great in covering my acne scars and whatnot, so I'd suggest you to get that too (of course, in either intensive LIGHT or FAIR for your skintone). Have you tried their sample kit? That's how I got my hands on using their concealers lol.

Adding it all up, it's expensive cuz I spilt the shipments into 3 parcels. but like I said, it was totally random (my decision to purchase MORE and more and more... ) so it's totally my fault. That said, EDM is really pocket friendly. the 3 shipments adds up to a substantial amount (im not sure how much is considered substantial) but if I spilt per item, it's really really cheap. Considering I pay US$45 for Loose Powder, US$40 for 3 eye colours, US$55 for my moisturizer + toner, the amount I paid for EDM is really not very substantial  Trying to cut down now! gonna switch to rosewater as my toner which cost like US$3? + trying out EDM green tea cream. hopefully it's not too oily for me Wanna give a shot to using natural products for skincare! -------------------- romancer, Intensive Light/fair is a pretty idiot proof concealer which U can use for anything, wet or dry. To brighten face up, I think u can try Pick me up Pink. give a radiant look. Alot of EDM fans go by Natural (under blushes and face colours) to give them a radiant look as well. U can try it out! lilveggie
deppstar you gotta give us a review on all those items once you receive them! as for using their cream for skincare, i'm not so sure about that =X I also ordered green tea, and I think my package should arrive next week... i was more planning to use it as an everyday body moisturizer on the go. people from EDM say that they usually use the cream when they are in dear need of moisturizing (such as during winter) - I'll go lurk around some more and see what information I can dig up hehe. according to bunnylicious, she uses lavender as spot treatment for her acne scars.
