Joo Ji Hoon In Talks To Star In New Fantasy Drama

Joo Ji Hoon may star in a new fantasy drama!

On March 17, an industry insider shared that Joo Ji Hoon will star in the new webtoon-based drama “Shop of the Lamp” (working title).

In response to the report, Joo Ji Hoon’s agency H& Entertainment shared, “[‘Shop of the Lamp’ is] just one of the projects that he received an offer for, and nothing has been decided.”

Based on a popular webtoon by Kang Full, “Shop of the Lamp” depicts the stories of the living and the dead whose worlds intersect through a mysterious shop that sells lamps.

Earlier on March 16, it reported that actor Kim Hee Won will make his directing debut through “Shop of the Lamp.” Joo Ji Hoon and Kim Hee Won have previously worked together for the upcoming disaster film “Silence” (working title). Anticipation is high for whether Kim Hee Won and Joo Ji Hoon will reunite as a director and an actor in “Shop of the Lamp.”

Stay tuned for more updates!

@backstreetboysfan  thanks for sharing this good news. I hope he's going to accept this drama. It's been a while since his last one..... In case, in the drama, Ju Ji Hoon will be the male lead as the owner of a lighting shop, which will be the main background of the work. He's one actor who's going back and forth between the big and small screens. Recently, he showed off his friendly charm through the variety show 'Ticketing with Two Feet' or "Bros on Foot". This show was a rediscovery of Ju Ji-hoon. 'Shop Of The Lamp' is scheduled to start filming after completing the main

casting, and is discussing the formation of an OTT platform.   :shaq:

*** JJH is booked and busy this year as he is set to headline another K-drama. After "Jirisan", he will be returning to the small screen with an interesting project. Besides this series, Ju Ji Hoon is set to appear in multiple projects this year. From K-drama to the big screen, he will be having back-to-back series and films. One of his new dramas will be "Dominant Species." In addition, he is also in talks to headline the series "Severe Trauma Center: Golden Hour" a webtoon-based medical K-drama. Looking forward for all of them.  :heart2beat:

*** "Kingdom" has an iconic opening scene that sends chills down our spine every time it comes up on our screen. It is minimalistic and quiet, laced with horror and dread, leaving an indelible impression on viewers. This drama has one of the most gorgeous opening credit scenes. This is important since this is the first thing we see when we start the show. Usually, it is accompanied by visuals that hint at the storyline and sometimes introduce the characters along with an opening song. Oftentimes, after seeing it once, we tend to press the "Skip Intro" button to quickly get to the start of the episode. However, there are some K-drama intros that simply cannot be skipped.   :7555_attack:

@backstreetboysfan I will get excited if he's going to take this drama. If you're a fan of Korean webtoons or manhwa, you may already be familiar with the name Kang Full, a webtoon artist. The upcoming Disney+ drama "Moving", starring Jo In Sung, is also based on a webtoon by Kang Full. Now, the latest Kang Full webtoon to be adapted into a K-Drama is "Shop Of The Lamp". This drama will be released via an OTT platform. I hope we could get to know JJH's decision soon.   :ohboy2:

Top 10 K-Dramas Where Our Leads Didn't Believe In Love But Fell Anyway

These K-Drama characters and their love stories will restore your faith in romance and raise your standards higher than ever.

Are you tired of romantic K-Dramas simply because they're too unrealistic? Do the fairytale love stories make you curl up with cringe? Well, you've come to the right place! Sometimes, tropes like soulmates, star-crossed lovers, and fated couples are just too much to handle. After all, it's hard to think they have any sort of import in real life, and if you're a particularly pragmatic person, they're even more unpalatable. So, if you're looking for K-Dramas that will restore your faith in romance while also serving as an escape from reality, we've got the perfect watchlist for you!

Note: This list is in no order of ranking, but there will be a poll at the end of the article where you can vote for your favorite K-Drama. As this is a poll for readers to vote on whenever they find this article, it will not be closed and no result article will be published.

8. "Hyena"

hyena-poster.jpg

If you like your romance ambiguous and piping with tension, there couldn't be a better drama for your watchlist than "Hyena". Starring two of the most incredible actors in the K-Drama industry - Kim HyeSoo as Jung GeumJa and Ju JiHoon as Yoon HeeJae, "Hyena" is a courtroom drama that gains much of its fire from our central duo. From enemies to lovers, best friends, and everything in between, GeumJa and HeeJae make for an unforgettable pair with unbeatable chemistry, both in the workplace and outside of it. More than anything else, they're a solid pillar of support for each other - the kind that makes us wish we had one too. However, when you first meet these characters, especially GeumJa, you can instantly tell that she has no time in her life for romance but wouldn't hesitate to use it to her advantage. So, if you're in the mood for romance, thriller, and comedy all at once, "Hyena" is your best pick.

*** I'm sure 2009 was the worst year for Ju Ji Hun when his drug scandal went public and he was arrested over drug charges by the Seoul Metropolitan Police. But, I'm happy that after years of hiatus, he was able to return with K-drama comebacks and movies. One of his biggest projects after the drug scandal was headlining the hit K-drama "Kingdom."  :Woah:

*** I'm not really into S2, remakes, part2s, sequels of any dramas but, sometimes when my bias is in it, I've no choice but to support. Like Ju Ji Hoon's drama "Kingdom", which has a captivating plot.   :ohboy2:   I love this drama! IDK if another season for "Kingdom"  will return shortly. But, in case this will push-through, the drama surely will have an even more intriguing storyline and characters.   :kaching3:
