From the preview (with my limited Korean looked like):

- One of the casino guy who bonded with STH is plotting with STH against DC. Cannot catch the first part of the conversation. But the last part he is telling STH DC's Achilles’ heel is YR (hmmm..bad vibes here. I am afraid instead of killing of DC, writers my kill of YR instead ).

- DC/MH and the family at his father's memorial and DW looked in from outside and later on showing DW telling YCH that DC is being made successor of President Guk (wondering if YCH will have a fit)

- last screenshot showed DC/President Guk/YR arrived (guess it is DC's Inauguration Ceremony). Last DC's shot is really cool

Anymore better with Korean please shed more light if any other details is revealed .

I haven't actually started to watch this show yet. But I just want to know:

Throughout this whole show, is Song Seung Hun's character deeply in love with Lee Yeon Hee's character. Or does he ends up falling for someone else half-way through the show.

Like one minute he's head over heels for Lee Yeon Hee's character and the next minute he's falling for someone else........

Cause I want to know whether Song Seung Hun's character is faithful to his "loved" one before I watch this show.

2uss, I love reading your comment on Guk-DC chat at the beginning of ep50. I thought that part is brilliantly done from both writing and acting aspects. Guk’s weakness to face his own deficiency drives him to turn against DC but at the same time he is further gravitated toward DC’s quality as a man in his each attempt to set DC in situation. Eventually, it is not the war between Guk and DC, but a war that Guk had for himself. And Guk won his own war by admitting that he loses the game to DC and asks DC to wash the blood off his hand. Credits to writer’s craft on this part so to allow Guk exits his humanistic block beautifully. “Bravo” to YDG. In all the ridicules, essence, and substances of Guk, YDG make the character alive. And THAT is the professionalism.

you got it jazz, the "war" that Guk had was against himself...and for awhile, Guk thought that Mike can compliment him, instead deep inside his heart it was DC that carried his burden to mirror his fears that he has long denied...that fear is "the game of life" in his life time he has never "lost" that game...until DC came and prove him wrong...DC helped Guk dug out of his own worthlessness (YR's words to Guk... "appa, you can't take your money to the grave ") it took a lung cancer and DC's persistence for Guk's heart to melt...

As always, great summary jazz. Short and sweet!

Ep 49 was clearly Guk-YDG's shining moment, both from the character as well as the brillant actor. And Ep 50 made it such a beautiful "closure" for the most changing, hidden and uncertain character of EOE. Did you once say he needs psychological treatment? Writer did well here. The bonding between Guk-DC is just beautiful and special.^^

Let's enjoy the last part of the EOE journey.^^

I am very disappointed with the story of east of eden. It is so confusing . Also The actress that play YR is so bad.I get goose pimple when I see her cry. It is so emotionless.Her speech is just like reading from the card. This character she plays is too old for her. She can only act in a young role. Not in EOE.Sorry If I offend her fan but this is what I think.I always skip the part when she is in.

i'm sorry you feel that "the actress" that plays YR is bad in acting jonniez...however, EOE's PD and Chorokbaem Media feel differently from you since they decided to cast her to play YR...not to mention EOE fans in Korea who have watched EOE from the very beginning...but i respect your views...

my advice is to discared your pre-conceived ideas (assuming you saw the relationship chart of EOE) ..enjoy the journey of DC (SSH) it's awesome to see what his character has to overcome from when he was little until now...

OK I have this thought process going on......just hear some of my theories.....They are going to have to jump to 1998 ..maybe in the last two episodes. Because they seem to be in 1993 yet by some numbers I caught. I know that I am not Korean but have spent countless hours looking at newspapers ect online about Korean history. The casinos in Macaou were under seige during this time from gang wars. Right around then the Portugese left ans China took over and sent in troops to quiet them. Also in Korea they were cracking down as DW is doing and a main prosecutor was arrested for bribes...The gang companies went ligit and the electronic companies started with the big push for computer parts ect. Also the paperwork for the Taebeck (sp?) casino was completed to break ground. The student protestors were pardoned DW?...So all this has to come into place.....Do you remember when the girl in DW office knew about the kidnapping information and it was just played off as her intuition? Also her thing for DW? Also the tatoo on her wrist? Not common for women in Kora those days as well in the US? So who's to say she isn't a gang plant? Maybe she will be one of those butterfliess caught in the net after is all said and done. Maybe DC will have to hide for a few years and MH will have to run things. DW maybe wil find out about STH involvement in Macaou....Maybe the person that will be killed will be a secondary character like JH or thier mother. All well this is just theory..maddening for me....and yes the last shot of SC in his aviator glasses is really ummmmm ....sexy

Yeah, I hate it when the male lead jumps onto another girl too >.> The second fiddle usually just ends up getting nothing in the end and just leaves heartbroken. So don't worry! DC lives for his love...ahem...YR...

I think we have to respect other's opinion. Whether it is positive or negative. Soompi has always been a platform where its good to have a balance view. Maybe the person comment is a bit strong but still we need to give her or him the benefit of the doubt and respect her view and the stand taken. This is what makes soompi an unique forumn from others.

The preview of ep 51 looks like the writer is bringing the moral value back on its agenda again. With the mum in the know, I like to see where the writer intends to take.It is kind of cheesy and corny having the DW peeping scene with mum.Looks familiar? I am sure the PD can be more creative than that.

It is a reality where back stabbing is an everyday norm of life for them.Power struggles has always been in" their brotherhood union" sadly.This is just the appetizer for DC.What DW told JH that DC's life will be shorten by that move is a cold realistic fact.

It is one of the most turbulent time for Korea with people in government and criminals working hand in hand in the black market to steal the country's money. It is also one that brought the economic recession and also change to korea. From there we have the push for reforms and innovation into the electronic and IT industry.But corruption was very bad and lots of innocent people suffered under this turmoil.The writer for Sand glass was very courageous to write a brillant script for this series in 1995-6 ( Freedom of speech was not common then) .Acknowledge by most korean as one of the best in Kdrama history

For EOE it is very important to protray to the world that no one is above the law and also social justice to the lost lives so that history will not repeat itself again.It is a challenge task for the writer and the pd team.Whatever the reason behind, it cannot ignore and escape the fact that GUK , STH and DC have a hand in the black money saga and that in itself makes them the guilty parties to the people of korea.It is difficult for outsiders to understand unless you are a korean living through these times.

This song does not belong to EOE.It is borrowed from KSW and LBY's new tragic movie OST which will be shown in cinema in a few months time..There is a link a few pages back for it.

It should not be used in EOE because of the confusion caused to viewers evidently.PD please take note of it.

Most of all, I am hoping for a happy ending for DC and YR. I wish for them a love that will rise above everything. They've gone through too much suffering and sacrafice already and they deserve some happiness for themselves. Their love is true.

Can't believe this long journey is reaching the end.

The ending I am hoping for is STH gets the punishment he deserves and DC/YR have a happy ending. They truly love each other and suffered so much and I think if there is no good ending for them, it seems very tragic for DC who gave up so much for the others that he deserves some happiness himself. It will make me feel there is so much injustice done to him .

I also have a bad feeling either DC or YR will die. It may not have been easy to give up everything and leave now.

DC who suffered so much during his life deserved his happiness which he said can only find in YR and vice versa. It will be a really letdown if this relationship dragged from beginning to finish and then they writer decided to make it tragic and kill off the characters

Have to see how it all played out. Urgh...4 more episodes.

Let's be positive guys !!! But this also could happen though .... STH should really die !! and that creepy catfish face guy should just GTH too !

although i'm hesitant to believe in actors/actresses interviews on their take of what their character is feeling (because only the writer knows of actual story development)...but past interviews by HJH and PHJ reveal that the character JH...does love MH deep within her heart...
