I think DW is a hypocrite on a major level, his always on DC about Mr.Gook, but what the hell? What about STH?

I mean their about equal evil. Tbh i cant stand DW, and i think JH behave like a money hungry banshee heh.

Btw why must DC co-op with that foreign guy and whats that about 20%? I know he said he might harm Grace, but what the hell, DC just got out of the criminal world, now his going right back in with a powerful crime lord? I think DC is way to emotional, and should sometimes think about himself for a change.

The new character (DW's boss's daughter) doesn't show up any more and there are only a few episodes left??? Why did they bother to add her to this drama after Lee Da Hae left >>>

Personal note to PD/writers: Pls where are we heading to???Do give us a creditable sensible ending that is convincing and fair to all the characters.A meaningful finale where even if the characters need and necessary to the whole theme to be separated ,divorced ,and even death for a fitting realistic ending to the 54eps..At the end the moral value (was the main theme from the beginning)needs to be revisited again.A wrong dirty deed will always be one ,there is no half baked dirty deed in the eyes of the law and society sadly...

DC by choosing to re enter the dark criminal world again by choice this time again (for love and protection of a woman) have paved the consequence outcome of that decision and he is fully aware that it is a road of no return once you enter that underground world. As the successor to GUK ,he will be accountable and answerable to all guk'spast dealings which we know is very questionable and corrupted.Remember this is the period in korea where those prosecutors were trying to dig a and trace the money laundering trails.Remember from history those past and present presidents of Korea governing the country around the era, the highest in office were involved..A lot of money has been stolen by them while in office. It becomes a political and criminal offences of the greatest degree.Hope he realizes the impact and domino effects on his own family members by this decision because he is no longer an errand boy in the criminal world..Just wonder will he still be able survive with the decision if his mum is killed in the crossfire. Just wonder.....

DW conversation word for word with DC at the final scene is very justified and realistic. Great acting from YHJ the actor in this episode.I am not sure about DC plot though..The old DC will never endanger his family or cause his brother's career to be over.He has fought too hard for that from the earlier episodes.I think the real moral lesson & responsibility that the PD team needs to protray to the world is no one is above the law no matter how corrupt the system is.It is a social justice for those innocent people who lost their lives and perished in this crossfire.

To have MH supporting him on this decision is really ridiculous and flawed?(scene with DW) His personality will never do that after having first hand experience with these type of thugs? What happen to that MH? This plot and script is just more crazy...

Luv and cute girl thanks very much for pic and torrent. :D

..............

I am not sure about what is going on :sweatingbullets:, But I hope DC isn’t getting himself into more trouble. I just wish YR/DC would give up on the inheritance and choose to live a simpler, clean life away from gangsters and crime(?). Wishful thinking? You can tell I’m a poor business person (can/should they really give up on Guk’s inheritance!!!) Maybe it’s more than just Guk’s money, Is DC trying to protect something more important-more than YR’s life? (Only 4 more episodes left.. need a resolution not open a new door for problems).

DW, I mean Shin DW <_< seems to have convinced himself completely that he belongs with the Shins, particularly with STH. And so, he is consciously dismissing his newly-found father’s evildoings and focusing on a new revenge- DC :tears: . ( Is he still referring to DC as Hyung?) Unfortunately, unlike many optimists in this forum, which made me happy for a while, I cannot see how DW is faking his behavior and plan to backstab STH for two reasons: 1- It would be a very simple solution to complex theme of family and bloodline ( although it would fit perfectly with the NO-more-time left in eoe ). 2-DW behavior is becoming more and more like an ambitious man; we can no longer see the gentle, pure well-mannered DW who is now treating even his coworkers as if he was STH :( ... From just watching his behavior, it seems that the writers have really gone down the path that blood determines behavior/attitudes. (Of course I hope I’m completely wrong because that would really be depressing and in a way very misleading regarding adoption/family. In addition, I don’t want to see STH happy, it is so unfair to the old DW, DC, YCH,MH and even OYH). The changes in DW in ep 49-50 is convincing me more and more that DW is choosing to behave in an evil manner, not that he has suppressed this evil side of him, I refuse t believe that. It surely is sad watching a good man, yes I still believe he is a good person at heart-after all he's DC brother ;) , chose to turn evil for no real apparent good reasons.

Since I am not sure anymore what the writer’s goal of eoe? What message are they trying to convey? I can say I still cannot see it clearly? Anyways just like all of you, I hope the resolution does not happen in one or two episodes (we only have 4 more to go!!!). And as much as I want it to be a happy ending, I want it to be a meaningful one, where issues are resolved from all angles and for all characters. :)

...............

Random thoughts:

-Janice is back she’s safe and sound.

-We need Rebecca to get Revenge on STH, Where is she? ;):P I actually enjoyed her plot for revenge more than the former Lee brothers. She’d go crazy (not that she’s a sane person to begin with  ) if she found out that her plan has completely backfired.

-For some reason I miss the priest.

-Guk’s acting is amazing, he really looks sick and make me feel pitiful for him (why cancer I hate that disease). Does he have to get sick to realize where his daughter’s true happiness lie. Now even after his death his daughter and DC have to suffer because of his crime life. What will DC’s mom say when she finds out her son may go back to the casino? YCH seems to never get a break in life, I pity her? :tears:

-From JH’s expression she seems to sympathize with DW a lot, doesn’t she? She makes me feel that she’s staying with STH to look after DW!! On the other hand, she’s so stiff with MH and seems to care less about his emotions? Although I cannot say I don’t understand her feelings. She is obviously very upset with MH for leaving her and TH.

-DW, I mean Shin DW :tears: is not living with STH yet, he’s still living in his apartment ( I don’t now if I should be happy or indifferent about this).

Finally :phew:

-I wish DW &DC could meet and talk beyond their revenge, STH, LKC, work, TS etc. If they could just talk things through without getting too emotional and show us that the strong brotherhood bond that has formed over the last 30 years can get them through anything? No, I don’t think it would be cheesy; I would be the first one to believe it and accept it. After all, they did have an unusually strong and deep relationship; I cannot believe DC-DW bond is being replaced by DC-MH that easily  . WHY aren't they making an effort to meet and talk if they truly feel bad about the situation

Seriously people in EOE have not yet learned to forgive one another. The only forgiveness going on is that of Lees to MH, but I don’t consider it true forgiveness, instead its acceptance of a bloodline. Please show us that despite how evil humans can get, forgiveness must be in our hearts. With forgiveness, I am not dismissing the importance of justice; forgiveness does not entail that STH lives free from punishment. Justice must still be sought after, don't you agree?. :)

Can Cain and Abel Deliver?

coolsmurf in Drama | 17 Feb 2009 - 11:36 AM

The highly-anticipated SBS drama Cain and Abel will be making its debut later tonight. Eagle-eyed netizens have managed to find out several similarities between Cain and Abel and the currently airing MBC East of Eden. Let's take a look at them.

1) Fated Conflict between Brothers

In East of Eden, the fated conflict between brothers Lee Dong Chul (Song Seung Hun) and Lee Dong Wook (Yun Jung Hoon) has been the entire focus of the story from the start. In Cain and Abel, the same happens between brothers Lee Cho In (So Ji Sup) and Lee Seon Woo (Shin Hyun Joon) who ends up very much in conflict also.

2) Both drama titles derived from Bible

Although storylines are both totally unrelated to religion, but their titles are both taken from the bible. What's coincidence is that, as recorded in the bible, the place that Cain resides in after he kills Abel and was exiled to was the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

3) Comeback Dramas

Both dramas were their first since they were released from their mandatory 2 years of military training. It's perhaps no big surprise that they have chosen almost similarly themed dramas since they are known to have a deep brotherly bond and also shows their chemistry.

4) Stellar Cast + Big Budget

East of Eden has an impressive cast list comprising of Song Seung Hun, Yun Jung Hoon, Han Ji Hye, Lee Da Hae (dropped out in Episode 40), Lee Yeon Hee, etc and had boasted an unheard high budget of 25 billion won. It was also rare to actually see the entire drama comprising of 50 episodes and being placed in the Mon-Tue timeslot, normally reserved for mini-dramas (16/20/24 episodes). Cain and Abel also boasts of an impressive cast comprising of So Ji Sup, Shin Hyun Joon, Han Ji Min, Chae Jung Ahn, etc with a total of 7.5 billion won budgeted for the 20 episode drama. In this time where the entire world is suffering from economic turmoil, it's considered to be an extravagant production.

5) Highly-talked about Before Broadcast

Before broadcast, East of Eden was a hotly-searched term on various Korean portals and the ratings shot past the 25% mark after its first 8 episodes. It's the same for Cain and Abel whose search term is ranked highly among the Korean portals and is even higher than some dramas which are airing now. Over 700 plus comments have been left on the official website saying that they are anticipating the broadcast very much.

So Ji Sup and Shin Hyun Joon are returning to the small screen after a long absence. Han Ji Min and Chae Jung Ahn have won much popularity for their roles in their previous dramas, Yi San and Coffee Shop 1st Prince respectively. It will be interesting to see how Cain and Abel will fare against MBC Return of Iljimae and KBS Hateful But Once Again.

What a great summary of the current situation.

We only have 4 episodes left and the way it is headed, it is opening door for new problems which means the ending will be rushed or the ending will be crappy.

Out of all the characters in this drama, DC is the one who really deserves a happy ending! Please don't land him into more trouble :(

I guess no preview for Ep 51?

Luv and cute girl thanks very much for pic and torrent. :D

DW protects STW because he wants to put his anger on DC. First, he hates the feelings of getting dumped by the Lee family. 2nd, DC started to get accused by the prosecutors, that's why DW is ashamed of being called DC's brother. Everything is about fame and selfishness. He screwed up everything because of himself, not bc of protecting STW hahah I hate him so much! And the ironic thing, the mother and DC dont even dare to yell at him and explain what moral and right behaviors are like at least the mother used to. This would be so unfair if he ends up w JH happily while DC and MH suffer from misery.

I love this drama so much but i'm also disappointed of the draggy plot and there is no point to bring the new girl in! I wonder how the writer can wrap it up in 4 eps.

DC and YR have to end up together, if not, I'd be so angry, and the whole good drama becomes worthless

Nobody here would happen to know the title of the song that always played in the action scenes? it's an instrumental but strangely not on the OST's...for instance in the first episode during the car chase in the beginning it's playing and a lot more afterwards too but i can't seem to find the title...

Yeah..I know which one you are talking about.

It's a pity not including it in the OST.
