Korean actress Song Hye-kyo has donated money to print brochures at a church in New York, which has been deemed a historic site for the Korean independence movement against Japan.

Korean Methodist Church and Institute, which has a mainly Korean and Asian-American congregation, was founded by Koreans living in New York who wanted to commemorate the March 1 movement in Korea.

The overseas Koreans met in 1921 to honor the second anniversary of a large-scale demonstration against the Japanese colonial government, which ruled Korea between 1910 to the end of World War II.

Professor Seo Kyung-duk, from Sungshin Women’s University in Seoul, created the brochures, while Song paid for production expenses.

“More and more Koreans are visiting New York each year, but most of them don’t know that there is a historic site for the Korean independence movement there,” said Professor Seo. “I made the brochures … out of a desire to help others learn about the church’s history and significance.”

The colored brochures contain information about the church’s establishment, the activities of Korean independence activists, and the history of a “Korean Library” at New York’s Columbia University. They are available in both Korean and English.

Actress Song and Professor Seo have previously collaborated on brochures for historic sites related to the Korean independence movement in China in cities such as Shanghai, Chongqing, Hanzhou and Harbin. They also jointly contributed artwork to the Lee JoonMemorial Hall in the Hague, the Netherlands.

Song and Seo have also supported Korean language services at some of the world’s top galleries and museums, such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.

Song previously supported the production of brochures at the Ahn Chang-ho Family House in Los Angeles and the Suh Jae-pil Memorial in Philadelphia. Ahn Chang-ho and Suh Jae-pil were both prominent Korean independence activists.

J.Estina releases latest ads with Song Hye-kyo

Korean jewelry and accessories brand J.Estina released its latest ads Monday, starring Korean actress Song Hye-kyo.

Song, who first started modeling for the premium-priced brand in late 2013, showcases J.Estina’s filigree-thin necklaces and bracelets in the two photos.

One necklace has half-moon pendants embedded with "Luna stone" gems, while another necklace has an "Inizio diamond" from J.Estina's new range.

Song is one of Korea's most successful actresses, due to star in upcoming drama "Descendants of the Sun" in the latter half of this year.

You started it with The Grandmasters to the lovely dama That Winter, The Wind Blows then another chinese film The Crossing part 1 and then you gave us a lovingly mother role in My Brilliant Life and amazed us with your talent in I Am Queen to The Crossing part 2 and now and finally will be back on the dramaland with the much awaited blockbuster drama Descendants of the Sun.

Thank you unnie for not breaking your promise that you will be both active in Korea and China. And also not just in movies but also in dama.

DotS gives us thrill as it was the first time our unnie will play a more challenging role with even more challenging setting.

This is like a bomb. A news that no one could ever think of.

As of now she is starting to get out of her comfort zone and trying a new thrill and awed everybody that she can be as great rather than be good. I also really like how she handles everything. For my opinion, she is trying to show everyone that she can be as competetive but do not go beyond her limitations. She is known for this and i know she knows it herlself. And she was known and loved for being simple and conservative. One more thing is she always been proving that she can compete in other way rather than showing something she is not.

Honestly, our unnie has a great body where and she have something that some other girls may envy of. But she always remain conservative which is seen on how she dressed herself. I wonder how she awed and wowed everyone in her photos and pictorials even by just wearing simple cut, simple dyed, and lightly colored suits. Right?

As DotS is said to be the most anticipated Korean drama of the year.

Yoo Ah In - Song Hye Kyo Photo Turns to Funny Topic in Gag Concert.




On the April 19 broadcast of KBS Gag Concert, in the "Crazy Love" segment, comedian Park Ji Seon showed the photo of Yoo Ah In & Song Hye Kyo sitting together. (Note: The picture belongs to Song Hye Kyo and she posted it in her instagram before).

Wife Park Ji Seon and husband Park Sung Kwan argued about the truth of the photo. Park Ji Seon accused her husband Park Sung Kwan cheating on her with Song Hye Kyo. "I found the real source of this photo. It's not just Yoo Ah In and Song Hye Kyo. There's a different part of this photo," said Park Ji Seon.

Then she raised another photo. In the photo there were not only Yoo Ah In and Song Hye Kyo, but also Park Sung Kwan. This made audience burst to laughter. grin emotikon
