Seoul names 'Creative Korea' new national slog

-->The government on Monday officially adopted "Creative Korea" as South Korea's new national slogan and promote it internationally to highlight the importance the country places on fostering creativity.

The country had used "Dynamic Korea," as its official slogan ahead of the 2002 South Korea-Japan World Cup.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism chose the new slogan based on public polls that singled out "creativity," "passion and "harmony" as the three main keywords that can best identify Korea, and listened to opinions from local and foreign experts.The ministry said while "passion" was the driving force of building today's Korea from the ashes of the 1950-53 Korean War, "creativity" is a value that the country should pursue to move itself forward to cope with changing demands of the time.

To promote the image, the government will launch a national brand campaign on foreign news media outlets such as CNN and BBC and its overseas missions and relevant organizations, including Korean cultural centers and the Korea Tourism Organization.

The ad campaign features actor Song Joong-ki and actress Song Hye-kyo of the mega-hit TV series "Descendants of the Sun," as well as go player Lee Se-dol, pianist Cho Sung-jin and K-pop boy band BigBang, among others.

The authority will screen a video showing the "Creative Korea" logo on the outer walls of buildings surrounding the Seoul City Hall in the city center for a month from Monday.

Forthcoming international sports events such as the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics and the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics will be used as a means to promote the new slogan, the ministry said. (Yonhap)

"Descendants of the Sun" stars Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, who play lovers in the Korean military drama, had a mini reunion earlier this week, and based on the reactions online, fans were thrilled to see the duo together.

Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, along with the other cast and crew members of "Descendants of the Sun" got together to record their commentaries for the show's director's version DVD, and on Tuesday, KBS shared a photo of the cast in the recording booth. The DVD is set to be released in November and will contain unreleased scenes, interviews and music videos.

It has been nearly four months since "Descendants of the Sun" aired its finale, and it is still immensely popular not just in South Korea, but in other countries across the globe. The show has also made Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo internationally recognized actors, and both of them have expressed a desire to work with each other once again.

Interestingly, the duo has also been romantically linked since appearing on "Descendants of the Sun." Although neither of them has confirmed the existence of a romantic relationship, they haven't been shy in praising each other.

"I was looking forward to meeting him since so many people told me good things about him, and it turned out that he was an even better person than I'd thought," Song Hye Kyo said during a fan meet in China. "He's very sincere and thoughtful when filming. I think he's really cool."

Song Joong Ki, in return, told Couch Kimchi that in addition to being a beautiful person, Song Hye Kyo has a heart of gold as well. "I felt really happy to be able to film together with Korea's most beautiful actress. Everyone thinks it's because of her outward appearance that she became famous, but after working together, I realized her inner heart and personality are also good," the actor said

yes dear in my point of view i think they dont like her to win in this poll  because lots of fans are complaining about this voting system i think some of votes coming from Kyo are not counted and im waited for 20 mins to vote again and some kyonatics giving me tips to refresh my computer even my tablet but its a waste of time nothing change at all same us to the other fans but i am not backing out im still in till the end of poll no matter what happen KYONATICS fighting.....

10 Qualities that make Song Hye Kyo stand out from the crowd

Hi everyone, I have been a lurker of this thread (but a regular at SSC thread) and it took me awhile to start writing my first post because I didn't know where to start. I hope you will enjoy reading my write up for SHK (I apologize that it is super long) and nice to meet you all. 

{After reading so many good comments about SHK from other HK celebrities after Prada launching event, I feel the need to write an individual post for SHK simply because she deserves it} 

Song Joong Ki – To be able to film together with Korea’s most beautiful actress, I felt really happy. Everyone thinks it’s because of her outer appearance that she became famous, but after working together, I realized her inner heart and personality are really good also. 

Jo In Sung – She has so many talents. Her charm doesn’t lie in just the pretty genes she inherited from her parents. You can’t measure her up with just her face. She is really concentrated and focused on her work and she is a true professional. She really brightens up any set. She is like a flower.

John Park – She was very good-natured and kind. I was so thankful because even though I’m just a rookie singer, she treated me so warmly. 

Grandmother Yang GeumDuk – 88-year-old victim of forced labor in Mitsubishi Heavy Industries – When I heard your wise decision to reject the offer from Mitsubishi, I shed tears and felt as if the thorn in this grandmother’s heart had all fallen out. I was so glad that if I had wings, I would have flown away.

We cannot deny the fact that appearance does play an important role in making one woman attractive in the eyes of others; however, appearance isn’t the only key factor. She knows that her value is not defined by the opinion of people, but rather by who she is in “the one” who made her – that is “herself”. Without seeking for the approval of other people, she always stands with confidence and her head held high in every single event she participates in and be firm with all of the decisions she makes simply because no one could understand her worth more than herself. 

2. Passion – Work Ethic 

She is not known for laziness; she may take quite a bit of time choosing the next project after her previous one has come to an end. She isn’t in a hurry, she takes her time considering both of the pros and cons but when she has made her choice, she works diligently with an attitude of ambition and enthusiasm. Even when the job seems less than ideal, she always works with a cheerful heart and a constant gratitude for the ability to work and the opportunity to work for something she is desired.

‘John Woo – Director of The Crossing - Song Hye Kyo is always prepared to act, so she only makes a few mistakes. When she gets mixed up with lines, she tries to make the best out of it rather than slyly attempt to get away with it. 

Kim Si Hyung – Director of Photography of DOTS – Song Hye Kyo is a type of actress who, instead of concentrating on looks, would intentionally ask the directors to film her such that her acting and expressions and gaze can stand out more.

3. Self- Discipline 

She always tries to maintain the consistent good habits in her life like getting enough rest, proper nutrition, and exercise….. Those habits reflect her commitment to take care of her overall health because she is aware that being self-discipline allows her to care for her family, her friends, her colleagues, her puppies, and other priorities in her life more effectively.

4. Nurturing 

She nurtures and cares for the needs of not only her family and friends, but those who are less fortunate than herself and those who have no one to lean on. She seeks for ways to help with the best she could and she does it, but in her very own discreet way. She treats everyone with the same love and respect, regardless of their social class because she knows that helping people makes the world go ‘round. It blesses others, but blesses her even more so. 

KBS relayed on May 2, “Song Hye Kyo has participated in the narration for ‘family month’s special documentary - May, the Children. Song Kye Kyo decided to do the narration because she felt that there is necessity to communicate the need for pediatric care facilities and hospices in Korea”. It was reported that Song Hye Kyo politely declined any payment for narrating the documentary – allkpop May – 2016

Song Hye Kyo along with a professor named Seo Kyung Duk from a Korean women’s university, had donated Korean guidebooks to the historic sites of Korean provisional Governments in China including Xiangzhou, Chongqing and Changsha. Song Hye Kyo also took part in the creation of the content of the guidebooks; she said “Although there are major Korean historical sites in China, there are not very many Korean guidebooks. By doing this small thing, I would like to help visitors enjoy the site more. – soompi April – 2016 

In an effort to help children from low-income families, actress Song Hye Kyo became the seventh member of a small charity project called “Cinema Angels” which consists of Korean actors and actress in the film industry and handed out 1,000 free tickets to the Busan International Film Festival. Despite her busy schedule, Song Hye Kyo shared her mission to make donation via her shooting money from Bazaar magazine; she has commented “I hope these tickets will allow needy children in Busan have good memories from the Busan International Film Festival. I also hope these children would attend the festival to find a brand new world and get new visions of movies”- soompi October - 2013

5. Dignity

As a public figure, she is always aware that she could be impacting someone’s life. She holds herself to high standards for the way she dresses, speaks, and behaves for the sake of her own honor and for the sake of many fans who are seeking her as their role model. 

Jin Goo – Song Hye Kyo is originally a more outgoing, humble, kind and all around fun person. But we are living in times where every word we speak has to be carefully thought out. So I think she is more quiet and careful with her words these days.

6. Resilience 

Her foundation is solidly rooted in the way she was educated since she was a little child, therefore she is not easily shaken. She is independent and strong. She meets challenges and obstacles, she fails, but she always stands up stronger. She knows that when she is faithful and thankful during trials and hardships, that she will safely come out of the storm even more prepared and sharpened.

7. Humble

She knows that pride and ego are the root of disappointment.  She is not familiar with bragging on herself. She never once admits that she is good enough. No matter how famous and talented she is as an actress, she never stops trying.

I became very nervous whenever I start filming for a new work to this day. I think a lot about the character I play. I became stressed thinking about how to portray the character in the best way.Even after completing a successful role, nothing much changes. I will do as I have always been doing. 8. Mentorship

She is a humbled hearted and wise in knowing that she will never know everything there is to know. She has a passion for learning and growing, she seeks for guidance from those who have more experiences than her, she invites advice and she is open for feedbacks because she knows that that is the way for her to improve and become a better actress & a better person. But more than that, she never hesitates to offer her guidance to those who are younger and less experienced than her and especially to those who are eager to learn new things just like her

Kim Ji Won – When I first met her, I was a little afraid and wasn’t sure how to act. But in fact, she is very kind and childlike. When I approached her all nervous, she would say, ‘Why are you like that? Just be natural’. When I filmed scenes that were taxing on my body, she was the one who took care of me. I was really grateful. 

9. Honest

She knows the liberating and healing power in revealing her struggles and shame. She is honest with those who mistreat her and she is loyal with those who honor her. She lets them know that she only tolerates respect just as she respects them.

After finishing filming for TWTWB finale, SHK personally handed out handwritten notes in her essay book ‘Hye Kyo’s Time’ to the staffs, one of her letters reads “Whenever I see your smiling face, there were a lot of times when it made me feel better. Thank you. Because playing my character was difficult and led me to have no time to rest, I am regretful that I couldn’t spend more time with you. Let’s meet a again. You did a good job” – allkpop April - 2013.

10. Authentic

She is true to herself and always gives credit where credit is due. She cares greatly for the people who have supported her through ups and downs; she is forever thankful for them, she gives them the acknowledgement they deserve, and cherishes them wholeheartedly.
