I really don't expect So Yeon renews contract with Namoo I hope she find a new agency that can help her career more improve / develop, but our girl is a emotional person, she always feels thankful to Namoo....so she cannot go...haizz

I have to agree with you with this, all the way.. I thought Soyeon would be signing on with a new agency with smaller number of artistes so that her career would be better managed but it's true that KSY is a very thankful person and also loyal to Namoo even though a lot of the years earlier with them, her career wasn't developing at all till 2009. Does this mean that after 6 years with Namoo Actors.. she'll be with them for another 6 years? I hope the agency would appreciate & treat her better.. recently with new FB and twitter, they seemed to promote her a lot during Gabi.. hopefully it won't stop just like that.

There are a lot of new dramas coming out and movie casting, too.. really hope Soyeon-ssi will return to the screen.. small and big.. very soon! She did Gabi and had given her best potential, proving her ability but now.. we want to see her on television again. Palli palli, Soyeon-ssi!

Fun and flirty Kim So-yeon for Cosmo

Now why don’t I look like that when I wear my drummer-boy-meets-nutcracker-romper with a train? It must be the beret. Or I’m shakin’ my tailfeather wrong. That must be it.

I adore this Kim So-yeon spread in Cosmopolitan, where she rocks some funky looks and some wild hair to go with. Love. Can I just be her in my next life?

Am off to google that skinny black suit, and how to do a non-runway version of her poofy side pony. It’s bound to end in tears, but if Rooftop Prince has taught me anything, it’s to appreciate my hair (and experiment with it) while I have it, before I land in some newfangled era where I’m forced to cut it to assimilate. Them’s the breaks of time travel, don’tcha know.

The pics of SY in the blonde wig.. must say that she looks like a doll indeed. Because of Soyeon's distinctive sharp features.. it actually looked very natural on her.

Namoo FB & twitter promote many actors , not only So Yeon. Her pictures and clips are less than others (belong Namoo). In 6 years, Namoo bring her how many roles ? Just 5 roles So, why she must feel thankful them a lot ? Why she must blindly trust and be loyal to them ? Why why ? Sometimes I really "hate" her personality, too emotional

I wonder if Soyeon has her own personal manager for herself.. usually actors will stick to one manager in their career. Namoo Actors undoubtedly has a lot of artistes in the agency but it's the manager who would and should "push" as well as work harder so that the actor/actress will have good chances in acting roles and offers. I do think Namoo Actors should really highlight KSY no matter what but it is also the manager's job to really find the opportunities for Soyeon.

Only 5 roles in the last 6 years is really pitiful and very unfair .. Kim So Yeon is so much better than that!

I hope Soyeon will choose and decide on her next project very soon. It's already April 2012. She spent 2011 just for filming Coffee and now that the movie has been released, it's time for her to be in dramas / other projects again.

Please don't take too long to decide again.. she's already back with Namoo, please take note that it's time to let her acting work shine again!

My favorite badass female character in a drama today also happens to be the first badass female character I ever encountered in a drama. Up until last year, the K-dramas I chose to spend my time watching were mostly all fluffy rom-coms. However, my then-boyfriend managed to coax me into watching IRIS, an epic action-romance drama starring Lee Byung-hun and Kim Tae-hee, with him over Christmas break. Although I think Kim Tae Hee is a gorgeous actress, my favorite female actress in IRIS was Kim So-yeon as Kim Seon-hwa, the only female member of the North Korean security team with a tough streak. Seon-hwa started out as the right-hand woman of Park Cheol-young and was sent on a mission to kill Kim Hyun-jun, the South Korean intelligence agent that the drama focuses on. Eventually, a few plot twists emerge and the two of them join forces halfway through the drama to bring down the villains. Kim So Yeon did a great job bringing out the toughness of her character and her action sequences were intense and riveting. I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen during a scene at the beginning of the drama when she led the North Korean security team on a mission to find Hyun-jun in Hungary after an assassination.

Don’t get me wrong: Kim Tae-hee did well, a passable job in IRIS, but her character spent way too much time moping and being depressed about Hyun-jun for my liking.

Park Min Young and Kim So Yeon in talks for 'Time Slip Dr. Jin'

Just as you thought the cast of upcoming MBC weekend drama “Time Slip Dr.Jin” couldn’t get any bigger. Well according to news, female actress Park Min Young (City Hunter) is currently in talks to play the female lead in the drama.

“Time Slip Dr. Jin” has already unveiled its top male castlist consisting of Song Seung Hun, Lee Bum Soo & Kim Jaejoong. Therefore the news for who will be playing the female lead in the drama has already been buzzing around.

On the 18th of April, the producing company for “Time Slip Dr. Jin” revealed, Park Min Young has the highest chances of being the female lead in this drama. Park Min Young’s representative also said: “We are currently negotiating about the contract.”

If she accepts the role, Park Min Young will play 2 roles in the drama. The first will be Doctor Jin Hyuk’s sister (Song Seung Hun), who is also a very famous doctor in current time and the another will be a maiden from a royal family. We could say that, “A person with 2 personalities” therefore this will be a new challenge for Park Min Young.

Other than that, Kim So Yeon is currently in negotiation for the other female lead in “Time Slip Dr. Jin”. Playing a mysterious woman in Joseon.

Male actor Lee Bum Soo has already accepted a role in the weekend drama and will likely play a secretive master/minister who hides he’s identity in Joseon.

“Time Slip Dr. Jin” will be airing on channel MBC on 26th of May 2012.

I think So Yeon 99% will accept the role in "Dr. Jin" Although her agency said "Not yet decide" but it's means "has already decide" ^^'' When she accepted Tanya role in "Coffee", there's also "not yet" news and some days after, there's confirm news

Acting with actor Lee Beom Soo and Song Seun Hun in the drama is ok But more important is her role, a Joseon mystery woman who has ability to see through the future...

I love to see So Yeon in the type of mysterious and charming role

Casting update for Time Slip Dr. Jin

Looks like Time Slip Dr. Jin is going full steam ahead with casting, now that it suddenly finds itself a month out from premiere. That’s the thing about dramas. You gotta have a cast to get on the air. It’s crazy like that. Lee Beom-soo has signed on pretty much right on the heels of Salaryman, for what will be a ten-year reunion with co-star Song Seung-heon, since their 2002 movie Run First (poster below). And then finally, we have some women rumored to join the cast: Kim So-yeon (Coffee) and Park Min-young (Man of Honor) are considering the show.

Dr. Jin is set in the late Joseon era (1860) and features a time-traveling genius brain surgeon (Song Seung-heon) who goes back 150 years and struggles to adapt his medical practice. Well I’d say. What’s a brain surgeon gonna do without lasers and all his fancy brain probing doohickeys?

Kim Jaejoong plays Kim Kyung-tak, descendant of a long line of warriors, and the most skilled martial artist and best military officer of the time. Lee Beom-soo has joined the cast as Lee Ha-eung, a “soldier of fortune,” aka a mercenary, or assassin for hire. Badass. He’s also a bit of an oddball character though, which if you’ve seen Lee Beom-soo in anything, you’ll know is perfect for him.

Park Min-young is up for a double role — Dr. Jin’s little sister in the present day, and then in the Joseon era, she plays Hong Young-rae, the daughter of a nobleman and… she’s not his sister anymore? Um, is anyone else worried about this storyline? I see where this is going…

Kim So-yeon is considering the role of Chun Hong, the best gisaeng in the land, who also possesses mystical powers. She has the power to look into the future, which sounds like it’ll come in handy for our time-jumping doctor. Both ladies are still unconfirmed, though the clock’s a-tickin’ on this beast.

Time Slip Dr. Jin follows Feast of the Gods and premieres May 26 on MBC.
