@SpiritGambler @blissfullyblessed I rewatched the episode 21 and I think Min Kyu heard the people in the Fisherman Wharf calls JiA (Hong Joo) I’m wondering too why would they call her HJ then Min kyu don’t know how to approces/calls her then assumes her name is Hong Joo and points the afron she’s wearing.

Watched chinese-subbed and I think the fisherman called JiA "from Hong Joo's home/restaurant", because she was representing Hong Joo's grandmother to get the fish from the fisherman at that moment.

I think it is not the first time that JiA works at that restaurant, as the fisherman mentioned that JiA always bring him gifts every time when she come back.

JiA and Hong Joo are secondary schoolmates and they may both grew up at that island.

And I think I saw somewhere on group discussions on Facebook they posted the HD cap of preview that she’s wearing the NECKLACE in the seaside scene (white furr coat/windcheater)

Yes I saw that in the preview, too.

BoNa has never really seemed liked a true friend to YY. She always seemed a little jealous of her; however, I also feel very sorry for her too. She's working hard and putting up with a lot to help support her family. It's very obvious that she loves her father. I will say that I didn't like the fact that she didn't acknowledge her father. Maybe she's worried about her petty boss  thinking even more less of her.

Then I lost some of my pity for her when she cried and said it was too hard for her....not sure if she was talking about her job or being the child of a death father. The actor playing her father is great--he pulls as my heartstring.

Agree that BoNa is not like a true friend to YY.

But I think it was a wise choice for BoNa not to acknowledge her father in front of her boss. That wouldn't help anything in that situation.

    1. As you have said, her boss will look down on her more because of her deaf father.

    2. Her boss is very suspicious. He will suspect her purpose of bringing her father into the office and her loyalty. Then she will lose her boss' trust.

    3. Her deaf father is her weak point. Her boss may make use of this fact to force her to do something bad. I don't think her office is a pleasant work place to reveal her personal family background.

I think the conversation in the bus (about who loves more between NCW and his ex-wife) sort of fill up the void I felt between the 2 characters. Even if I think YY too felt something for NCW but so far the things she did for him, she did for others too, even forher ex-bf (as per his rendition of their past in the phone which NCW mistakenly pick up). She always prioritise those in her life that everyone is treated special. So, I was waiting for her to do something beyond herself, beyond that 'special treatment" she gave to all who matters to her..to show that she is also in love with NCW. But until last night's ep, there was not much. The only thing I see was they way YY feel insecure after finding out that NCW's ex wife is the VP's daughter. But the jealousy feeling was not too apparent.

But NCW is in another level. He is so, head over heel, in love with her, that he is willing to do and become someone beyond himself. We see how he changed rather drastically, how he succumb to every thing she wants (although he pretended to refuse in the beginning), how he pinned over her when she's not around, how he manage to open up his inner thoughts and feelings. And in today's ep (based on the preview), he is even willing to be that lovey dovey, with that glasses and cute smile of his..

So, in this sense, it is obvious, even if before his ex-wife is the one who loves him more, but now it is him who loves YY more. And I think that dialogue in the bus was meant for us the viewer to see this point of view. And I think in the next few eps, we will see YY building up her feelings for NCW to be at par with his feelings..(of which I echo some of you guys who posted about worrying that this also mean there is something big waiting to happen to YY and NCW as she realised that NCW is not someone she just has affection of but someone she could not be without. They could not stay that happy together without any obstacles, right? But even so, since the writer has shown us the light and easy way of handling any issues in this drama, I hope this will continue because that is the real reason I keep watching this drama..because of its comedic, light and easy story line, despite some cliche scenes.

But then again, the cliche scenes, as some claim to be, was done with class in this drama. Thanks to the actors and actress playing the characters and the beautiful shots. Daniel Choi is indeed a gem in the making. His hard to soft look provide the attraction to this drama. Baek Jin Hee has been my fav since Missing 9. Their combination is the best..

    Love this drama

I am so agree with you, especially for the highlighted text.

Hi did anyone manage to catch what NCW said to JYY in the bus? The reason why he and his ex-wife divorced? Something about someone loving more and the other loving less?

Yes, I have watched the chinese subbed already.
I just try to write according to what I remember.

CW told YY he divorced because he felt sorry for his ex-wife.
His ex-wife gave him too much, but there was not much he could give her.

He then continued to talk about love between two people:--
The amount of love of two people towards the other one is not the same.
One loves more and the other one loves less.
The one who loves more will then become tired.
The one who loves less will then feel so sorry.
When these feelings grows, the two people have to break up.

    Sorry for my poor grammar.

Like yin and yang , YY seems to be an extrovert which is opposite from CW.    It’s fun to watch all of her various reactions. How she laughs, cries for sadness/frustration/despair or stares with such indignation but the most admiring quality of hers is that she bounces back.  In EP2 I wondered how she could come from such a let down by her boss but she did it with gusto. whahaha     When she recovered her fighting spirit  CW’s handkerchief landed on her head.    Connecting OTP with handkerchief magic was a well thought out scene.
I know the writer is new in drama but we know the writer worked in the variety department for a long time.  I can imagine the writer worked on this drama script for a long time on the side.  There are countless well thought out details.

Agree with you. YY also used a handkerchief to shelter CW's head from the 'rainfall' in the meeting room. ^_^

I absolutely loved this scene and the fact that we can still hear what Se Hee thought.

I am just wondering--depending on where you watch it, other subs make Se Hee's statement to read, "I found a unique woman as my wife."

Don't know which subs are more accurate. Maybe I should re-watch and see if he said yeoja?

    Thanks for the awesome GIF!

i just re-watch that scene and I can't hear SeHee saying yeoja.

From the sub I watch, he said something like "I found a very unusual wife."

I think Suji and Jiho are college friends with the bride ( they graduated from SNU) along with Wonseok..Horang came there to be Wonseok subtitute. Whereas Mr Ma and Sehee are friends with the groom, but it was not clear if they are friends from college of from work.

Their connection actually come from Mr.Ma and Wonseok friendship, who attended business club together ( my guess is that the participant of the bussiness club cone from various university in Seoul). So I think Sehee and Mr.Ma went to different university.

And given Jiho-Sehee age gap is 8 years, I don't think they met in the past. When Sehee graduated from college, Jiho must have been  still in Namhae

You are right. JiHo entered university in 2007, so she was still in Namhae before that. SeHee entered university in 1999 (from the conversation with Mr. Ma talking about Wonseok).

When SeHee filled in the marriage document in 2005, JiHo was a high school student. Maybe that was about the moment shown at the beginning of EP10. ^_^

I think he didn’t even get to the vet. After sorting the details in his head and solving the rubic cube to focus, he had come to a conclusion made a decision. He then, very firmly, told the driver to drop him off somewhere else.

Yes. SeHee changed his mind (not to pick up his cat) and asked the driver to drop him at JiHo's bus stop. Then he found JiHo's phone left on the ground there.

As for him finding them, the theory is that he tracked them down using the dating app location services to find Bok Nam’s phone since he is a superstar on that app. We don’t know if Ji Ho’s phone is unlocked for him to find a pic.

Agree. The app must have collected different kinds of data from users. As SeHee is one of the developer of the app, he should be able to access to the data, or he may have asked BoMi to help.

He was sweaty in the last scene. One commenter said he probably took off his coat at some point since he was running hard towards wherever they were. He probably threw aside his coat and bag nearby at the sight of Bok Nam and in his rush to disarm him.

Hope this helps. Again, speculation. Given that he had his stuff in the Ep 9 preview, I’d say he probably retraced his steps with Ji Ho in tow to get his bag and coat back.

I think you are referring to me? :) I share the same point of view as yours.

I hope next week's episode starts with Se Hee searching for Ji Ho. Did you notice that his trench coat was gone and sweat was dripping down his neck in the last few minutes of ep 8? I wonder where he dropped his coat off? Did he lose it along the way or did he leave it in the bus he took to the location? Because he had it on when he found Ji ho's phone, so i wonder what happened to it.

In EP9 preview, there is a shot showing SeHee and JiHo keep holding their hands and going back home together. At that time, SeHee seems to be holding his bag and coat with the other hand. I guess he dropped his bag and coat somewhere on the road to lessen his burden in order to run faster to search for JiHo.

--- ok back to the main point of my comment lol. >>>

Back to that scene towards the end of ep7 where SH asks JH if she took the bus home...don't you guys think that this is a really weird thing to ask??

See, he knows the answer to that qns cos he saw BN drop off JH. So.. was he testing JH to see if she would be honest with him? Cos if she lied about going home with BN... then she has sth going on with BN?? Idk this was really strange to me and SH just seemed a little manipulative at this moment. Good on JH for not giving him an answer at all!

I'm really sorry to cut your post but let me just express some ideas about your last paragraph.

I like how clever the writer make use of this one single question and I appreciate JiHo's reply so much.

She didn't answer the question directly, but in turn she asked SeHee was it necessary for her to give an answer.

This question reveals SeHee's jealousy. I think he didn't intend to "manipulate" JiHo. It's just some natural reaction to ask these kind of questions when someone is feeling jealous.

Of course SeHee didn't notice about the underneath meaning when he asked the question, until JiHo refused to answer. Then he knew that he broke his own rules by stepping into JiHo's privacy. He would start questioning himself about "why did I ask her this?" and this may lead him to understand his feeling towards JiHo.

Also, someone in another forum spoted that BN was on the bus as well where JiHo and Sehee was riding to the wedding ceremony (sorry that I am not able to make a screenshot at this moment to provide evidence). I think he may have known the truth of their marriage already and may affect JiHoo and SeHee in that way. I have confidence in the writer of this drama and hope that she will make good use of this new character.

I come back to provide the screenshot to show that the actor in BokNam appeared in the bus.

This scene comes from the end of EP4.

At this moment, we have no clue about whether he is acting as cameo or as BokNam in this scene.

@Fiona0754The 38 year old woman next to Se Hee was removed from the relationship chart? Does that mean the writers have decided to remove her character and changed the story (this drama is still in the process of filming right, it's not a preproduction)?

I'm disappointed because we know so much about Ji Ho by now but Se Hee is still very much a mysterious figure. I was excited by that relationship chart because it showed he experienced some hardships/relationship problems in the past that influences his behaviours and attitudes today. I really want to know more about him and his motivations, feel like his character needs to be fleshed out a lot before they jump the gun with the romance.

The drama is still under filming but I think they decided to remove that character before the drama started filming.

The removed character is his first love. However, according to SeHee's behaviour in these episodes, I think he doesn't have any dating experience. So, I believe cutting away his first love is a wise choice so as to fit his character and his attitude towards JiHo that he was unable to notice JiHo's feeling. Also, I guess that the writer may want to keep his storyline simple, and will relay his reasons for having the behaviour and attitudes (refuse to love someone or get marry)  to his family problem only.

I'm sorry that I am not English native speaker and hope that I have expressed my thoughts clear enough.

  13. I don't know if anyone has posted this already. In the latest version of the chart on the official website, the 38-year-old woman next to SeHee has been removed.

There are smarter ways to show Ji-ho that something is lacking in the relationship with Se-hee. And there are smarter ways to make Se-hee realize this thing between him and Ji-ho isn't just a contract marriage anymore.

Sorry to cut your post. I understand your feeling. I don't like love triangle, too. However, I believe this new character will serve other purposes as well.

As stated in the chart above (I read the translation in another forum), BN is preparing to emigrate to Sweden. I guess this may have some impact on JiHo's career.

@bebebisous33, you bring up an interesting point that JH's parents had been hoping for a son, thus the name, the haircut, the sports, etc. Until the father got the son, he may even have treated JH like a son, and the discarded her when he got a real son to play with. JH may have tried to become more like a son in an effort to gain his attention and affection. I do think that since the father is clearly the top person in the family, both JH and her brother would have made more effort to try to please their father than their mother.

    @stroppyse @bebebisous33

About JiHoo's haircut in the FB page, I think there is something misunderstood.

    ax4KxzI.jpg

The FB page that SeHee and Mr. Ma looked at is not the real FB page of JiHoo. Probably they just searched her name "Yoon Ji Hoo" in FB and got a man with the same name, same year of birth (1988), and even also graduated from the Seoul University (but in the Dept of Business Administration).

(p.s. the photo of Arsenal that SeHee saw is the profile picture of JiHoo's SNS)

    ZKbU4lf.jpg

This is the FB page shown on WonSeok's mobile phone when he was talking with Mr. Ma in the restaurant in EP2, which should be JiHoo's real FB page. She seems to have long hair in the picture.

please correct me if I am wrong.
