    and then 46 is golden core reveals so we get another tear from LWJ..

    Oh mann, Xiao Xing Chen and Xue Yang's story is starting. It seems like they changed some things from the book - XY looks like he's using XXC's face? Regardless.... that arc killed me in the book. I hope the live action version doesn't disappoint. 

    They haven't changed.. in the book you can't see face.. so when text says that someone claims to be XXC, you buy that argument.. and in book WX had not met XXC before to know what he looks like

     

    Here, how will they reveal the mystery if they show XY's face from the get go.. why would WX entertain him and how will we ever hear the flashback story.. so definitely this route was a no brainer.. must have if you will

    nah..otherwise too.. in the novel.. i wasn't invested in that.. it was unnecessary.. more like i have to insert another gay love side track with other set of characters so lets have this

     

    Plus the truth is, author created xu yang and wanted to do sthg with him as the main guy.. but she realized he is too complex to be a protagonist so built him into this story

     

    Also, i will give you the benefit of doubt since i don't know you, but you may want to be careful with your words.. what you wrote is extremely impolite towards me.. who are you to judge or know if I am in only for the gay moments and that you stand on holier ground , caring about every random character

    and whew Yi City is a storm in the horizon. it’s easily the most memorable portion in the novel, they better not screw it up

    they can explain easily

     

    unlike the book, LZ is responsible and infact wrote the invitation for JL's 1 month bday party.. which basically killed WY or got the ball rolling

     

    Regret is epic.. it is horrible.. so yea.. they can explain it in "non-platonic" way :P

     

    Why is Yi city memorable? it is story of XY.. and no romantic scenes.. the drunk scene after this arc.. i don't think we will get.. at max.. if we are really lucky, we may get the handcuff scene :P

    The biggest flaw of this story is.. which i honestly kept wondering even when i was reading novel the 1st time..

     

    If WX transferred half his core and JC continues to be awesome at sword fights and usual cultivation stuff .. infact leads his sect.. then exactly why could WX not sustain holding up his sword with the remaining core?

     

    And lastly, core is cultivated.. one is not born with it like a liver or heart.. that if the organ dies it is dead end.. 

     

    lol.. just.. i guess we just needed to go that route to see LWJ rushing to hold his frail wifi , who gets tired easily

    lol.. but i think those two side stories might be

    1.Extra chapter where they are trying to get rid of the ghost -> this in drama language would be them together after all the drama, nighthunting happily

    2. If they venture away from book , i'd guess LWJ's perspective while WX was missing OR if they want to be with the book then one of the extra chapters of WX being teacher to the students :P.. lan banquet accepting him in their clan as a "Teacher" :P

    First time I see the news that the novel would get live drama adaption, I have reservation about it and low expectation. I was fresh from two drama adaptation that quite butchered the original: The Legend (for its awful ending) and Fight Break Sphere (I can no longer recognize this drama as an adaptation). Plus, I see that we would have idol casted as two main lead (I was thinking that Wang Yi Bo was too young for this role), so acting wise I was afraid of what I would see. Moreover, I have seen drama adapted from BL novel that show two awkward actors on screen (painful for my eyes).

     

    Watching first 2 episodes, I was pleasantly surprised. The acting is good enough (even though there are rooms for improvement) and there was undeniable chemistry there. And that chemistry was enough to carry the show.

     

    Honestly, I think the drama would make Wei Wu Xian and Lan Wang Ji go separate ways in the end (if they go together like in the novel, it would be too ..... ).

    I don't know why people are saying open ending or won't end up together..

     

    The last scene in the novel is them passing riding away..

    Ah yuan comes hugs them, WN tells WX he will also leave and that WX should go with LWJ.. and THAT's it.. that is the end..

    because after this and the actual ending we basically have romantic and smut.. kisses and WX's virginity being take away.. WHICH obviously drama can't show..

     

    so for the drama logical ending, if following the book, is them riding away..

     

    WHICH IS EXACTLY what the mountain peak scene is.. with LWJ and WX and donkey.. 

     

    I would surmise that ending would be sthg on lines of "let's see where our destiny takes us.. yada yada.. for now we go together  .. ".. or end it with "let's go night hunting"

     

    ( in fact in one of the scenes, WX is with donkey in background.. i think it is the same mountain top scene.. WJ is facing another direction, he stops and turns back towards WX = All screams book ending)

    and yes fans have started to paint WWZ and LZ in really compromising positions on Instagram. Hope it stays out of sight 

    Also the fact that this drama is historical may give some leeway as in modern dramas their can expect there to be BL but probably won’t have the same expectation for historical

    We have 20 episodes to go, give or take the vip.

    The reason i want this to be successful is because the author's thrid drama, which is equally exciting is also up for live action.. that would be another epic tale

    novel also touches upon it.. losing golden core was not easy for him... and because he doesn't talk about it.. we don't have chapters on it.. but that blow was huge to him.. couple that with so much intense emotions and none to share that with.. 

     

    1. He wholeheatedly made a promise with LZ.. but he was left alone fighting to uphold the promise.. from his view..while LZ is nice to him but  he is not that important to LZ.. 

     

    For WX.. anything LZ does,says. anything about him is such a intense emotion for him.. but then he looks at LZ and he sees that nothing about him is of importance to LZ.. except for sake of friendship the care that he has for WX

     

     

    And what sucks is.. LZ thinks the same.. that everything about WX is so important to him.. but WX is just a sunny personality.. he doesn't and probably won't "like" lz in "that" sense

     

    2. For WX the most important person is JY .. no one can contest that.. and the lotus family is gone because noone has guts to support the right

     

    3. THis guy thrives in cultivating..and all of that has been snatched from him..

     

    it's too  painful.. he really had to die to get rid of all the emotional baggage

    Yes.. that is why fans are asking "new" fans to be super careful.. don't outrightly call out things.. and don't make it trend so much on internet that chinese govt takes notice..

    the drama may not even be allowed to air completely

     

    but honestly, someone who has no context.. may be won't be offended.. production has been careful..

    but then i hear guardian was more subtle than untamed and that has been pulled off
