  1. I have to say that I wasn't entirely surprised to see BTS get dragged into this whole mess. But I do think it's unnecessary. ARMY / fans do not have insight into the company matters and I feel like a lot of disinformation and mediaplay is being spread around at the moment. If a crime has been committed, then the courts will settle that. This is not about BTS. It would be better for ARMY / fans to refrain from speculating and commenting on the matter. Just my opinion of course. In any case, it seems to be getting quite dirty at the moment. It's like a real life makjang drama....
  2. Wait a second, this is a rom-com?!?!?!? The plot sounds super interesting even WITHOUT romance? @4evrkdrama are you planning on watching this? It's your oppa. I barely recognized him - with the new hairstyle.
  3. Chingu, men who can cook and also know how to do house chores are the bare minimum in a relationship.... If there isn't a 50-50 division on house chores, cooking, taking the dog out for a walk, taking care of the kids, you're out! Ladies, don't settle for less! Not even Penthouse...? Thank your lucky stars. I think this is the writer who gave @Lmangla sweetie her k-traumas. I think we should add Original Barf Drama (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce) to the list of dramas that traumatized us. Who's with me? Why, chingu? I thought Memories of the Alhambra and Vagabond were good dramas? I do understand if some people were left traumatized by Mouse. That writer was on something while writing that drama. 😰Just mentioning @Sleepy Owl and @ferily casually here in this context. Chingus, please help me with listing more traumatizing dramas. Btw,, did anyone see that @rocat's oppa and SHK are to star in a new drama together? Did you see k-netz comments? Gong Yoo to pair up with Song Hye Gyo in new drama https://netizenbuzz.blogspot.com/2024/04/gong-yoo-to-pair-up-with-song-hye-gyo.html [+233, -199] Eh, I'm against Song Hye Gyo... couldn't they pair him up with someone younger and prettier [+113, -43] I'm in my 40s but I'm tired of the older generation of actors still taking on top roles and leads based on the fame from their peaks. I guess it makes sense since all the famous writers are from the older generation, which is why we need to let some younger writers and directors in and change up the faces. Maybe there's just not enough talent these days. [+14, -4] I don't find Gong Yoo and Song Hye Gyo to be a match ㅜ.ㅜ Gong Yoo has more chemistry with the more bouncy, fresh, cutesy type of partners... 252
  4. No, didn't know this, dongsaeng. I never watched the Korean version because I heard it was sad. So am assuming you're gonna pass on the Thai version too? It was such a refreshing and natural way of displaying their mental health struggles. Neither of their parents nor the Women's Association (lol) were too judgemental about their kids' problems, and I liked how matter of fact both of the leads were with regard to going to therapy. Plus the fact that both leads were adults and were able to show attraction and have sex without even officially dating yet. And both had their own past. I mean it's so much more relatable than the weird holier than holiest leads kdramas keep pushing us nowadays with no hand holding or kissing without a dramatic umbrella scene first. And leads who have never done this before despite the leads having been high-school and college kids... So unbelievable, especially since they are always super attractive and were for sure popular. LOL More dramas like Mad For Each Other jusae-yo. Ooh, I like this idea! I should place it in our event backlog @agenth @confusedheart @Sleepy Owl K-dramas that caused you k-traumas? Can you guys help us out with nominations of dramas you think should be included in the event? @sweetroad @larus @Ameera Ali @kokodus @Lmangla @gm4queen @sadthe1st @kingpin @Thong Thin @joccu @LeftCoastOppa @Dhakra @MayanEcho @rocher22 @rocat @4evrkdrama I'll go first. The Last Empress Second place: Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol. 256
  5. @4evrkdrama dongsaeng, I finished Mad For Each Other. Except for the ending being a bit "tropey" I did enjoy it a lot. What a breath of fresh air! Btw has anyone watched Baby Reindeer on Netflix? Am hearing everyone raving about it. Apparently it's based on a true stalker story? @Lmangla @sweetroad @joccu did you already watch this? YA! Can't believe Eurovision is right around the corner! 262
  6. Thanks chingu! You know me well! Pics or it didn't happen. @sadthe1st agrees. Omo! Finally we like the same drama, dongsaengah! Haven't been able to continue past ep 3 because @agenth has put me and @gm4queen to work ! Aigoo.... It's so much work, but hopefully you'll like the new event that is in the works! It's a game @larus @MayanEcho @rocher22 @joccu @sweetroad @kingpin No, no one is going to get run over by the truck of doom @LeftCoastOppa It will also not feature THAT bird @Ameera Ali Alright, need to go and work on @agenth's event. My jam today. 274
  7. Looks like it! How did you like ep 9 and 10, chingu? @Tango27 @lila21 @ktcjdrama @rocher22 @Sleepy Owl are you still watching the drama? How do you think it's gonna end this week?
  8. Final Week Poll Chingu-yas, @maribella has designed a poll for us and you can find it on top of this page. Do cast your votes before the final two episodes air. If you answer "Something else. What?", make sure to let us know who/what you think would be the best choice. Happy voting! tagging: @UnniSarah @jayakris @backstreetboysfan @littlemay @debbsthebee @sweetroad @Thong Thin @ktcjdrama @hush puppy @lebeaucouple @kingpin @Ameera Ali @ryanallright @Dinu M @scribbledjunkie @xiashenghan Also tagging @africandramalover because I'm guessing she's watching this.
  9. A little slow? A LITTLE SLOW? You know me, I just can't with slow paced dramas. I've dropped the drama before I've even started it Yeah, I am not the best person to watch romcoms My dongsaeng @4evrkdrama forced me to watch it But I'm a good unnie, so I gave 4 episodes a try. On SUPER FF. @confusedheart had recommended me Mad For Each Other from 2021 earlier and said that I might like it. So I tried it (since it's on Netflix) and I was totally hooked after the first episode. It's just so different from how other kdramas are normally made and not at all predictable. Already finished the first 3 episodes. Has anyone watched it? It has great reviews on MDL too. Am guessing even @Lmangla sweetie wouldn't get bored with this one. Here's the trailer: The drama is so funny. It's about a man with anger management issues and a lady with OCD and anxiety who end up becoming neighbors AND who get therapy from the same psychiatrist. And they do everything to avoid each other because of that - because they think the other person is bat RickRoll'D crazy @sweetroad it's totally your style! 280
  10. @joccu Did you start on Chief Detective 1958? Heard that the drama got over 10% viewership ratings during the first episode. Am interested, but it's getting criticism for not being portraying 1958 correctly (clothes, hairstyles). 290
  11. I was not surprised that Moon Young decided to use Choi Ho Sik in the end. Cookie Lady had it coming for her when she decided to blackmail him. I can understand why Cookie Lady is angry at Moon Young, but she is seriously deranged and needs psychological help. I am going to guess that she's going to end up dead by the end of this drama. Sung Jae too. As expected, they took Bom. It is probably better for her to be in Shanghai while the adults have the last showdown. One thing that I really liked is how they showed how Moon Young has a good team of people who are willing to stand up for what is right and expose the truth. Her BFF and even the cop are on always on her side. But someone who touched my heart was Do Jin Woo. He stepped up his game as Moon Young's protector. Even with small things like him bringing her food when she's feeling down, or bringing Bom and Moon Young tonkatsu (I found it cute that Moon Young called Jin Woo the "motorcycle man" to Bom ) You can tell that she appreciates him and trusts him. Looking back at the distrust they both had towards each other in the start, and now they're almost like a couple. LOL When she broke down on the parking lot and he said he would find Bom for her, I just wanted him to place a hand on her shoulder and comfort him. But I think he was smart when he said that she needs to get it together now because they don't have time to waste - they need to get Bom back. Even though we don't get any kind of romance at the end between the two, I still find it heartwarming to see what a deep and trusting friendship they have formed. I think there is still a possibility that it will be left open ended with some hints that a romantic relationship could be formed in the future.
  12. Today's episode (10th one) was amazing. Next week this drama will wrap up. We even got a lady catfight. 294
  13. Well kinda. I think it's basically a person whose natural face even without emoting looks fierce and ferocious and a bit RickRoll'D. If you know what I mean? @MayanEcho Oppas don't have to be handsome or have a pretty face, you know. I have oppas whom I don't consider to have pretty faces. Yoongi is one of them. I just immensely love his personality and his talent. @rocat Yoongi has been taking singing lessons the last few years, and has improved to the point that he really could do vocals (and not just rapping) in BTS's songs. He actually got a lot of praise specifically for his singing / vocals on his D-Day tour. That's a first. I was blown away how well he sings live nowadays. @larus @4evrkdrama He wanted to learn how to sing, and he has succeeded with hard work 302
  14. Sweetie, you could have found it in the +- dictionary. But in short, it's Resting B***h Face Out of interest, which actors / actresses do you think has one? I find these to have them (and no disrespect meant, because they look really cool and it suits them 😞 What do you mean? She's Meme's biggest fangirl, that's for sure. Let's confess @MayanEcho ! 306 C
  15. I saw at least 3 or 4. Could have been more Am sorry, but could kdramas come up with a new trope soon? I just don't find them the least bit romantic. Or realistic.
  16. You know, I don't mind RBFs. Some EOs would say that Yoongi has an RBF. I say they're wrong You know, I've known @MayanEcho chingu for quite a few years now. I've long suspected that she's not always being fully truthful about her non-existent "oppa confessions". She says she has no oppas, but then still acts like a fangirl on this thread. And despite not having any Korean oppas, I know she secretly likes some of them. I guess our chingu is too shy to publicly confess? LOL - Am glad that you guys don't get offended I absolutely HATE slice of life dramas. Hospital Playlist especially Yeah, he's pretty vile. We are discussing him on the Hide thread right now. Am sure he's gonna get killed by the end of this drama. My favorite genres are (in descending order): 1) Thrillers (psychological thrillers) 2) Cheating dramas 3) Comedies 4) A really well made melodrama 5) Older romcoms 308
  17. I doubt it. In the flashbacks we saw, he seemed to genuinely care for her and wanted to save her. No way can you hide your evil side for 20 years from your spouse. There would have been some signs for sure. It annoys me that they aren't giving us more of a backstory for his change. As @Tango27 pointed out, I do love a bit of makjang writing, so here's my totally made up BS theory of what happened 1) Act 1: Moon Young and Sung Jae have a happy marriage. Her parents-in-law are kinda shady, but still seem to care for her. 2) Fast forward a few years later....: Moon Young discovers that she's infertile and can't have kids. Sung Jae's wanted to become an appa for years now, but they haven't been blessed with a little one. Moon Young is unable to tell Sung Jae about her condition, because she's in debt to him and his family. She's scared she's going to be kicked out. 3) Moon Young makes a bold decision: She says she wants to study and goes abroad. She calls Sung Jae and tells him she's pregnant. Sung Jae is overjoyed but doesn't have the possibility to visit Moon Young. He says he wants her to come home to Korea for the birth. 4) Moon Young covers it up: She tells Sung Jae she gave birth prematurely and that she'll come home to Korea with the baby once baby is allowed to travel. She comes earlier to Korea and adopts a baby from an orphanage. Happy reunion - Sung Jae doesn't suspect a thing. 5) Bom's first years: Happy family! 6) Bom gets hurt: Bom has an accident and Sung Jae finds out Bom has a blood type which doesn't match his. He becomes suspicious and orders a DNA test behind Moon Young's back. Lo and behold, he isn't the father of Bom. He suspects Moon Young has been cheating on him. 7) Sung Jae changes: He is bitter and angry at Moon Young for her betrayal. Little does he know Bom is not Moon Young's either. This is when his love for Moon Young dies. He can't abandon Bom though. She will always be his daughter - doesn't matter if they're blood related or not. 8 ) We find out who Bom's real father is: Do Jin Woo Could I be hired as a makjang writer @Sleepy Owl dongsaeng?
  18. @joccu The screenwriter is the same who wrote True Beauty. And I feel like the setup is very similar to True Beauty. A naive girl who falls in love with the tsundere ML. The bad boy 2nd ML with more charisma than the ML also pursues her. This time around there seems to be a bit more plot (she had amnesia after some kind of accident and lost her ability to walk - accident was caused somehow by ML - and she forgot all about him even though they had probably been in love or something - the he dies in the current timeline (either suicide or murder) - and she ends up going back to high school - unkowingly about to change the timeline). But still. It reeks of True Beauty. If I continue watching this, I'll probably fall for the 2nd ML anyway. Btw, seems that you dropped Hide? @larus @4evrkdrama Such a cute gif! ctto 316
  19. His acting is better. He knows the basics of emoting, so he's better than the cardboard oppas out there. But nah, he isn't rocking my boat. Good news @4evrkdrama dongsaeng, I completed the first 4 episodes. Ep 3 - I completed in 1 minute 10 seconds Ep 4 - I completed in 45 minutes while doing laundry and cooking - I paid attention to the episode for about 3 minutes Can I drop it now? Please? 320
  20. That's the first thing I noticed in ep 1, chingu.... I can buy your theory about her having never grown up, but she isn't even acting as a 17 year old. She's more like a 12 year old. Yeah, I know, this is a super popular drama but something about it just annoys the heck out of me. Sorry @4evrkdrama , I think I'm gonna drop it. I'll let Yoongi do it for me.
  21. @YongZura⁷ It's so funny that Yoongi says that he's heard a lot about his acting. I don't think fans are going to stop requesting that he tries acting in a drama or movie once. And knowing that even professional actors think that he should try it, is pretty cool. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he has gotten offers. With Yoongi, though, he'll only do what he is really interested in doing. And since acting isn't music, I guess it will be hard to convince him.
  22. He is perfect as a model, but I don't find him charismatic as an actor. He's not a bad actor at all, but he lacks some kind of onscreen charisma which would make me fangirl him. He suited a pyschopathic killer role in Strong Girl Namsoon perfectly because he has a very cold aura about him onscreen. Yeah, @4evrkdrama can keep this dude for herself. Am just not sold on this drama. At all. If no one has noticed. Have been watching ep 2 for about 2 hours and I'm not even halfway 324 C
