BUT I cannot find the information about the rating of ANY show in Vietnam, so I cannot say if LOTBS is a hit or not. I guess a standard way to measure the viewership hasn't been developed yet (or still under development), so no rating figure has been published yet. [Calling out to any one who lives in Vietnam lurking here, can you answer Callie's question please???]
As you mentioned LOBS, do you remember the actor whose family is a big fan of LOTBS in VN? I just checked and found out that there is a reality show and in the last episode, this actor's family visited Korea and they went to the valley where LOBS was shot. That valley looks so beautiful there:

I also guess it has multiple meanings. I've just visited the wiki page and learned that it also implies these boys are more or at least as beautiful as flowers:

@CarolynH and @1ouise I think @CallieP 's explained well why there is the forced kiss and I think it's not out of his character. GJP is a very hot tempered, and if he wants something, he must get it even without realizing what stands on his way (unless the obstacle is too obvious, for example his mom)

These are prior to his debut, right? They must be the roles when he was testing the water to see if he would go on with acting, I guess??
So before BOF, LMH often played poor students. I am so curious to know how he could be confident to audition for GJP, a filthy rich and arrogant student, a totally different image to his prior roles. And the director, how could he be confident offering him that role? Luckily, he could pull it off so well.
By the way, I still find I don't quite understand the meaning of the drama title Boys Over Flower. Good looking boys aren't meant to be compared with flowers, right? Or are they? But if it means those boys who are more beautiful than flowers , then what about "Boys Before Flowers" as dramabeans calls it, what does that mean? Please fill me in.

Honestly, I though that fans only came to see him for only on the first few days of his enlistment, never expected this can stay for this long, because I've never seen any other K-celeb who receives similar love from fans. @CarolynH , I also liked that part. Don't know about you guys, but rewatching, I am now so drawn into GJP's beautiful puppy eyes, which are also bright, and sparkly. I also find that Kim Bum's sweet and naive look doesn't fit the playboy role.
Now I didn't quite get why GJP plans for the kidnap and makeover, what does he want to get out of it? I don't think that he fell for Jandi, and wanted to be her boyfriend at that time yet, do you? Does he think that showing her the lux life will make her like him and then be submissive to him ???

Off work today. He's got 2 coworkers with him today, so my assumption about the elevator being reserved for him at certain time of the day might be wrong ... uhh... maybe not, he might have asked the 2 guys to join him or vice versa :-), but that lady must be the elevator operator :-)

I find that there is no one else with him on the elevator, which is strange. On the first few days, you can see a lady with him ,but she doesn't look like a co-worker at all. To me, she is more like the elevator operator or a janitor because when she gets off the elevator, she doesn't head out the parking lot like him, instead she usually turns back and does something on the elevator control pad.
@willenette you seem to have a wide knowledge on celebrities in MS, you also mentioned someone who also does social service at the same place Minho is doing (is that Yoochun???), do his fans also wait to greet him when he comes to and from work? How long can they do that for, I am curious?

@pixie0622 according to this article, yes he is paid, but a very small amount. they said his average annual salary in military is approximately his one day income as an artist, lol, and that he will have 31 leave days within 2 years of service.

I may sound like a broken record, but that Summer of 2013, I decided to re-watch Korean dramas for fashion inspirations. At that time, i knew nothing about what and who in Kpop culture. I googled for recommendations and I started with more current dramas and jumped through very quickly because most of them failed to grab my attention. I gave Secret Garden, Nice Guy at least 4 tries each because of rave reviews, but still I dropped off very soon after I started. The only ones that I could get through were Coffee Prince and That Winter The Wind Blows <I liked all the leads in them>, they got me going . Then, though school-life wasn't the topic I was interested in, I still decided to give BOF a chance because I thought the rich students might show off some nice outfits lol...Like you @Kris Silva I didn't quite like the drama as a whole, it was too unrealistic for me and I didn't like the female lead's overacting, but somehow I couldn't drop it off like I did to many of the previous dramas. I still marathoned to the end, but I skipped a lot to only watch LMH's parts. I didn't know what's in him that kept me going on then, definitely not his look <at that time, though I had no issue with the curly hair, I thought the blond guy looked more handsome lol, but I didn't care much about him, Kim Bum was as cute as a button, but I skipped all his love story part>. Now as @1ouise spelled it out: his "CHARISMA" - that must be the reason.

@CallieP Vietnam has a large population (about 95 mil. now). But to be honest I expected more because at the beginning I watched LOBS on youtube and I was impressed with the youtube views. Some of the first episodes I came across reached 1 mil views in about 1.5 days . But they were soon removed from youtube because of copyright.< A Vietnamese TV bought the right to show LOBS both online and on air. I really wanted to give hits to their online channel, unfortunately I couldn't access it due to their geographical restriction, and I couldn't get any stats from there either>. These are rare chances I could capture the youtube hits before they disappeared:
- Episode 9 had over 1 mil views within 3 days:
- Episode 10 reached almost half a million views within 1 day:
it seemed to me that most of the youtube videos stole the translation from the movie site I referred to before <that was how I knew of their existence and stopped watching on youtube>. So I guess if the view count on youtube and on the movie site are similar, LOBS could reach appr 20 mil views or more.
Now, it might be unfair when I put DOTS on the same scale of LOBS and Goblin because I don't know when DOTS was uploaded on to the site.

@leeminhosny you tempted me to look at how LOBS was doing in Vietnam.
I don't know which ones are the biggest movie sites in Vietnam, but I found this one while I was desperately looking for a site to watch LOBS when it aired. For me, it's a pretty good site. The video quality is not bad. They live streamed LOBS, and if everything went well, about an hour after each episode ended, you started to see the subbed version (in Vietnamese, of course). Here is the number of views as of today on this site:

The problem is they don't rank the views. So in order to understand if a number of views of 5.3 million is a lot or not, I've got to check out a few other dramas:

@CallieP these are just the activities of recalling the events happened in the past, and, in our case, they have to be related to LMH. If you find pictures/videos of an event related to LMH that occurred in the past but on the same day you want to post them here, you can name your post as "Today in History". If there are random stuff about him that you like and you don't care about the date, you can post them here on Thursday and name you post "Throw-back-Thursday".
In addition to reminding us of the past, these are good excuses to repost anything you want :-) But or course, if you don't remember the date, or if it is not a Thursday, you can still do all those things .

@minekas, thanks for BOF links. The dramabeans writings gave me an impression that BOF was highly anticipated prior the its debut. Is that true ?? I always thought the opposite was true, because except that singer (sorry I can't remember his name), none of the cast was well-known then, am I right?

Hi All, I saw something the other day about his bday project. So what is the final decision and what do we need to do to participate? Appreciate if any of you can bring an update on that. Thanks.
@CarolynH and @gaeingoh I also notice the eye bags, but I was concerned on the first days of his enlistment only, perhaps it was the time when he was still adjusting himself to a new routine. After the first week, I could see his smiling eyes, and you know when you smile, those eye bags become more prominent and it's normal. Imagine there is no mask on his fave, everything will blend in and we may not notice those eye bags any more. Looking at his eyes only, I find him totally fine. Am I too optimistic?
So there is no picture of him go to and from work??? what is happening?
Am I correct that there was a news article saying that he served food to the elders, I remember seeing the gif, but I wasn't sure of the content of the article. Somehow I doubt that is his job because of the way he dresses, very casual. I don't think he would provide direct service to the elders in sweat shirts, sweat pants even ripped jeans.
