Though SR is devious and BS is kind it appears they are similar in their one sided love.  It reminds me of MLE (My Love Eun-dong) in how Eun-dong felt she was obligated to be with her alleged love because of all he had done for her.  Yes I know he was evil and BS is not in anyway like him in that respect, I'm just making a comparison how how they are with them out of a sense of obligation.  BS is constantly bringing up how many times he's proposed and it's not really funny anymore. He is always hinting that they need to go forward with a marriage regardless of how stiffly she reacts to physical contact with him.  He definitely senses her discomfort how does he expect her to sleep with him if that's her react to close physical contact with him.  It's rather creepy to me regardless of what a nice guy he is.Icky.

SR and BS are obvious siblings and they love in the exact way, only god knows where they learned how to love disregarding the feelings of their object of affection as their father is the type to love someone in a perfectly normal way.

Someone on this forum said BS love for HK is form of harassment and it really and despite him seeing her been uncomfortable when he tries to initiate any physical contact with her, it doesn't stop him still trying as if with regular tries, she would definite get immune and comfortable when tries skin ship with her.

I would liken that wooden toy to JDJ form of a business card,  the very first scene we saw of JDJ in this drama was when he was going to his cave, he stole a rice ball from another man walking alongside him and was sharing the rice ball with the man, the man later found out that it was his rice ball that he was sharing with JDJ.

JDJ gave him that wooden toy and told the man to come looking for him when he needed help but the man was angry and didn't take the wooden toy from JDJ.

JR gets rid of all her stress from lack of affection from her husband by taking it out on SR, her conservation with SR about the relationship between JE and HK imposter got me laughing.

When SR was complaining to JR about JE and HK imposter having an affair, JR asked SR if she is having memory loss and have she forgotten that JE was a married man when she started a relationship with him, did she call her own love while she wants to label what JE and HK have as them having an affair.

JR also asked SR about her reaction when she confirmed that HK is dead, she bets that SR was happy.

@kimnana41, I don't see BS been a casualty expect if he let himself become one, HK has never given him any hope that she is interested in having a romantic relationship with him, it is BS that has been unyielding in his relentless pursuit of HK as she has always rejected his advances to her.

So, are you saying that, for example, my husband was married once before he married me, if he were to see his ex wife again whenever in the near future, it's okay for him to still have feelings for her, to still love her, his ex wife since she was once his wife?

Then if he never had feelings for SR, what do you call it when a man is willing to stand up to his MOTHER IN LAW to protect this other woman/student who he happens to like kissing and sleeping with and always seeking her out? What do you call it when this man arranges for this student to study overseas with him for 4 years all expenses paid cost hundred of thousands of dollars? What do you call it when this man does things to make this student happy when she's expressed dissatisfaction---buying the cell phone and not leaving her apartment when he clearly wanted to leave, but stated because she asked him to? What do you call it when this man starts treating this student the same way he treated his wife when they met which is what really clued HK onto the fact that he liked SR and not just SR having a crush on him. What man would go against his wife and leave her to go with the student that he had slept with if it was nothing? What man brings the student into the family home as his girlfriend which he's been with for 4 years?

 

All those things you listed above would be pretty good evidence of what a man would do when he has feeling for a woman but JE's personality is a little different, he is the type of person to be good to anybody irrespective of their gender without having any ulterior motive plus as I keep saying JE and SR relationship wouldn't have turned into an affair without HK acting as a catalyst as it was only when she commented on their relationship did it turn into an affair, if you want to get a better handle of JE's way of thinking, look at events that transpired after JE saw HK killing that bug in episode 1 and they had that argument, which gave me an idea of the way JE functions and HK commented while they were quarrelling over the bug that they have not a serious decision for a while and here they are fighting over a bug.

No teacher treats a student this way or turns his life upside down for a student that he had no feelings for.

JE never turned his life upside down because of SR, he wanted a divorce even before he started his affair and even if SR wasn't in the picture, he would have still tried divorcing HK and JE is exactly the type of person to treat his student very good especially ones that come from poor background, it wouldn't surprise me if SR knowing that JE is the type of person that would try to help someone pitiful, that was what made her wear rags to the labs as no matter how poor a university student, she wouldn't wears rags but instead buy cheap cloth as SR at that time had a part time job, so she was making money to afford the clothes.

I never said that JE had a great love for SR, but I do believe he was infatuated with her and so did HK.

IMO JE never was infatuated with SR and nothing would have come to their relationship as they would have remained a teacher to student kind of relationship , if not for HK pointing out to JE that he was interested in SR, if she has remained quiet and just ignored them, nothing would have change on JE's part and he would have continued ignoring SR's advances as he was previously doing up to that point.

I have always though JE only started his affair with SR because he knew HK would be bothered by it  after telling him not to do it.  I see JE having the affair as the equivalent of someone doing something that he was warned not to do just because he was told not to do that thing, he became more tempted to do what he was warned not to do.

What's up with writernim? Is she trying to show viewers the different shades of infidelity? Or the different looks of cheaters? Is she trying to make excuses for cheating, as in cheating is circumstantial and somehow inevitable? I hope writernim will not go there WITHOUT GOOD REASONS to clear all doubts that cheating is wrong, immoral and should not be desired..

@jadecloud, I think that is the point writernim is trying to make is what you pointed out above, she is trying to show the viewers the different shades of infidelity and I don't think she is trying to make excuses for cheating or encourage cheating but she might show cases in the drama where cheating is inevitable, after all writernim is writing a drama featuring humans and we all know as much as humans try, we are fundamentally flawed and sometime do bad things despite knowing better depending on the circumstances we find ourselves in.

And then this latest episode, he seemed to sincerely miss her and long for her...but he said this words like "he wants to know what HK is planning?" what HK is up to with all of this ...as if HK is scheming something??? 

JE is obviously worried about her current situation that was why he made that statement as he is hoping desperately that she is scheming something in the sense that she has some goals that she is trying to achieve that would help him understand better why she is currently living like this instead of how she is currently living her life with not much direction.

it makes sense the concern JE has for HK as she was a hotshot lawyer and now she is seemly content working as an assistant to BS which would surprise not only JE but anyone who knew HK before she suffered from amnesia.

That is perhaps the thought in the picture above, the post amnesia HK would have on JE while JE and YK2 were in the car, YK2 while referring to the CEO who declared bankruptcy without paying his staff while he is living large for someone supposedly without money.

In interpreted that conversation differently from the point the writer intended. That conversation told me that, even if JE doesn't love SR, wouldn't he have wanted his name first because his work should be important to him? Would he have been upset if it had been anyone other than SR?  Or is it that recognition for his work is unimportant so he just doesn't care at all.

 

 I believe that love doesn't come into the equation regarding whose name appears first on the research paper, what that scene showed was that JE has lost his pride as a researcher so doesn't care if he gets recognition for his work.

The question that should be asked is what made that him that way to have such a nonchalant attitude towards his work.

only to have him on his knees begging his father to let him divorce HK and he'll go work for the company--something he hated but was willing to do to get away from HK;

 

@lclarakl, they is no doubt HK suffered and JE put her through hell before their divorce but my interpretation of that scene where JE knelt before his dad is that they was something that happened(unknown to us viewers right now but probably would be shown in the future episodes) that made JE make such a drastic action and I believe a selfish person like JE wouldn't ruin himself just because he wants a divorce from his wife as that is what working at the company meant since that was what he hated most, so for him to knee before his father showed his resolve and they must have been a reason for him to be that firm in his decision to divorce HK beside just divorcing her because of the difference in priorities and expectations in their marriage.

I hope when she recovers she will never take JE back as a husband. Oh dear, BS is such a lovely man, just don't break his heart. 

BS is the perfect guy but just not the one for HK unfortunately, he has a zero percent chance of been together with HK even before JE appeared and after trying for so long, he too should have realised that fact.

I don't know why being angry at someone is supposed to be a sign of affection, verses being polite to them and considerate of their feelings.  I can't help it, but this scene just again made me think of his betrayal of HK. 

@lclarakl, been angry at HK is not a sign of affection but it shows that in JE's case, he is displaying emotions which can only happen when you have feelings for a certain individual unlike when JE is with SR when he appears to be polite and considerate of her when in reality what is happening is that SR is been totally ignored, she can't get any sort of emotional reaction from him.

So when you said that JE sounds like a man who cares for SR and is discussing HK with her (communicating so as not to cause confusion), what JE is actually doing is that he is talking to SR as if she is his business partner or even a friend instead of JE having a discussion with his lover as what man would talk about a woman that he is interested in to his lover when the natural instinct is to lie even when caught red handed by his lover.

SR is going to join the villians in their quest for the company. The enemies are stacking. She'll go crazy losing to the woman she stole him from. Guess she was borrowing him temporarily.

@abbybakre, unfortunately for SR, she never had JE temporarily, she never had him for a moment and in that sense she is pitiful because although she thinks she was the one who got between JE and HG, all along JE was using her as he finally found something that he can use to get a reaction from HG since she was almost like a robot in her behaviours and nothing JE said or did seem to bother her.

@kiefshi1056, the marriage is definitely going to happen between JE and SR even if they have to force JE to put his seal on the marriage certificate, he can't get away from her SR with that girl determined to enjoy the fancy life especially as JE mom is cahoots with SR, he is too much of a mama's boy to reject how his mom wants to shape his life and JE mom is onboard JE and SR getting married.

@junkietiger14, I was just joking regarding the morality police to lighten the mood as this drama seems like it would be dealing with some not so fun topics.

Regarding the character played by JJH, he hasn't blamed his wife about the death of their kid so I doubt if that is what is wrong with their relationship, the problem he has with his wife is her not grieving or showing any signs of a parent who lost a child and is just functioning too well, she is even trying every means to seduce him so that she can bore another child and that just turns him off. she has pleaded with him to cooperate with and even suggested they take a vacation together for that purpose but JJH is not interested.

The roles of the couple are reversed regarding their mourning of their daughter, normally it is the mother that is inconsolable after the death of her kid while the father is normally the one picking up the pieces and telling his wife that live goes on but HG is doing alright while JE is struggling so badly.

From the synopsis HG changed during the marriage, so what I would like to see is what made her change, was it the death of her child or has she changed even before that like the mistreatment from that foolish, immature and childish mother in law made her change as the current HG is really ruthless and two instances showed that ruthlessness in yesterday's episode, the first instance was in court, when she attacked that woman on the stand, exaggerating things the woman has done and maybe even falsely accusing her, HG practically destroyed that woman's marriage and I believe that is why that woman committed suicide,  the second instance was in the car when he mother threaten to kill herself, HG stopped the car and told the mother to go kill herself, she tells her mom that she is living well with the death of her daughter and would do the same even if her mom's dies.

@ymiss, I don't know want to say much on whether it was ok for him to cheat or not before the morality police have a fit on this thread but it seems they were still married when the affair started but they have reached the point of no return then as when she came back from jogging and the husband is looking at her as she kills that bug.

Their conservation after that was very telling of the state of their relationship as JE asked HG why she kills the bug as it was trying to survive and HG believes that she was been merciful killing the bug since it was struggling for survival before she tries kissing him and he tells hers that she is sweating and needs to go take a shower and she begs him to cooperate with her regarding the kiss but he still refused to kiss her, asking her why is she doing things when her heart is not them and JE is pleading with her to at least cry once( am guess it is not too long that they lost their child).

'I have a lover' ..I already see so many affaires( and lovers) from ep 1. Husband has affaire with his younger Hoobae. Brother-in-law slept with some girl at the hotel. Father-in-law seems to have feelings for mommy, mother-in-law is jealous and is torturing mommy. Manager of pregnant sister is eyeing on his assistent. Seems like Hae Kang will have some affaire with Beak Soek too.

I so laughed when BIL at the hotel told wife that the affair has no meaning to him and has told her previously that it is just extreme sport to him.

@andy78, I will guess YG baby father's is that man stalking her,he didn't seem like a professional, getting caught too easily by YG as he is drinking coffee across the street from the woman that he is stalking and I guess YG and baby father's story, it would be typical, probably a married man and they have an affair, she gets pregnant, she wants to keep it but he doesn't want the kid.

I believe if it is for another reason apart from her been pregnant that makes him want to kill her , then HG life will still be in danger when she assumes the identity of YG even if he knows that she has amnesia.

@andy78, their marriage was about to be over, HG has already filled the divorce papers, only thing missing was a signature from HG and JE.

JE will be confused seeing HG act as YG as HG has lost her memories and even if JE suspect that she is his wife, since she is assuming younger sister life, HG will just show proof that she is YG like photo albums and stuff like drivers license.

That affair really affected HG more that she realised, the selfie her hubby took with his hoobae really affected her as she sees YG photo on her driver license and she after taking a good look at the photo, she still didn't realise it was her face she was seeing in that photo plus wouldn't HG life be in danger living as YG as that crazy stalker guy want kill her expect if he just wants her to lose the pregnancy and wouldn't be coming after he sees she is no longer pregnant.

So many question from just episode 1, looking forward to tomorrow's episode.

No doubt this thread would turn into a freaking warzone, drama hasn't even aired yet but people already started having heated conservations of what might be, I believe we should all just relax and watch the drama with no prejudice as it will just affect our viewership,I have seen writernim's previous work(scandal) and she wrote it well despite her touching on things that should be controversial by nature.

but don't understand the twins plot thing... please don't tell me that the story is something on these lines -- both twins like hubby; but hubby ends up marrying twin #1 and having affair with twin #2. twin #1 gets mad and walks away and both sisters get into an accident where twin #2 dies. twin #1 who was pregnant loses baby and is spitting mad at hubby. then fast forward, time jump and then she has amnesia and forgets why she hates hubby....

the reason for hating hubby better not be this above scenario.... 

it better not be...as this sound like a more complicated twin-plot compared to Mask.

I guess we would know early on, if that is the direction the writer wants to take the drama and if it turns out that way, then I would stop watching this drama, early on as in all my years of watching kdramas, I have never seen a complicated drama ending satisfactory, most kdrama writernim like adding something controversy without having a clue how to resolve the problem . 

I can't spend the new years in anger, confusion and frustration just because of a drama I have invested and wasted the best part of six months watching.
