  1. Heya gals. Here's another one who's joined the crazy bandwagon. I've watched all 14 episodes over the weekend. I'm kind of proud, that's got to be some kind of achievement :)) (congratulations, you've shutdown your entire social life for 3 days)
Anyways- I really don't know how to process all the feels~ as I just finished watching the eps. Will get back later on for a recap and to discuss all the smooches, all the skinship, and all the Tan sass in the show.
Can't wait to talk it over and over until I die of thirst (figuratively speaking of course).  :D

  2. Hola girls! How's it going? Just dropping by, to see how you are all doing. I miss you gals very much and hope you are all doing very well these days!
It's so nice to see that the Faith fandom keeps on going considering the rough months we've been through what with all the director debacle. It's really heartwarming to see that in a way, we are continuing his legacy.
Ahoy to all the gals I know here!

  3. Hola girls! A quick hello to everyone. I'm on my ipad so text might come up all.... In one block. Anyhow, I miss you all lots! I hear there's a secret scene of hug attack by our daejang during the series ending? WHATS WITH THIS. Also, I've been in Korea for what- about 3 weeks now? I feel like LMH is more famous in other parts of Asia than his own country :))

  4. Following @kappy 's idea, here are random adventures of my daily life in Korea :)
    - So it seems that everytime I go outside, I always end up buying street food. EVERYTHING LOOKS SO YUMMY.
I understand Eun Soo better. Enjoying life in Seoul, eating its food, and out of nowhere she's thrust into stupid Goryeo and its bland food. Poor thing. :))
    - I found a tiny Innisfree shop in the neighborhood I live in. I peeked in, and no poster of LMH, so I basically went in, looked around, shrugged at the sales lady and came out. She must have thought I was nuts :))
    - People here drive like there's no tomorrow. I don't think they respect the signs and driving rules at all. I thought I was going to have a heart attack in my Aunt's car.

Alright, I'm off to read the novel a little bit :) Will stay on to chat though :D

EDIT: So it looks like @adlyn13 didn't like the ending to that one show huh? :))

  5. Although I respect LMH, his concert's ticket prices are disgustingly expensive.... 90$ for the least expensive seating and it goes up to 200$?! That's.... The Rolling Stones or Madonna level, and they're legend. I understand he doesn't really have much control over the ticket prices, but for something he says he's doing "for" the fans, it's somewhat ironic don't you think?
I don't know how it compares to other Kpop-type of concert ticket prices but at least compared to "Western" standards, I find it a bit excessive.
Anywho... @Anomalous yeah, I found the novel has more layers and more depth as to the back story of each characters. So far I haven't found much "additional" scenes per say, more like paragraphs that explains about the character's background and why they are acting in a particular way. It really helps understanding the way the characters act. Although all the actors were spot on and really accurate in the portrayal of their respective roles, I find that having these little trivia adds more depth to the plot :D

  6. Happy Birthday to all the June babies @WutHmone @shengveng @Hanjae @MrLee ! <33
How is everyone doing? Good? Good. :D
I can't remember who asked me this ( @Anomalous ? @Hanjae ?) regarding SJN's writing style in vol. 2. Well, I didn't notice anything different so far. But then again, I'm not good enough in Korean to notice all the depth and subtleties that goes with the Korean litterature... But I think I can safely say that there is no drastic change in her writing. :)
Also, I couldn't help but peek towards the end of the novel (again, because I'm lazy to read all the boring parts in between), and I think @sia3 mentioned it before, but the scene in the forest where Eun Soo teases/annoys CY about him "loving her" (episode 6 in the show), happens in the last quarter of the book :/
I read the last few pages of the novel to see where it ends, but the thing that's written at the end of the book, I don't remember seeing in the show....? So I can't place exactly when novel 2 ends in the show's timeline....  :-??

  7. @tigereyespeppy I got the chance to speak to a SBS producer a couple of months ago, and he told me that when pitching and producing a show on Korean television, they have to produce something that is considered to be "morally right" by the society.
If the show is deemed inappropriate for the general public, producers either have to change the content or they just drop the project. This "rule" is stronger on broadcast channels and especially on prime time hour.
I don't know if you know it, but there was a small buzz a couple of months ago regarding Kim Hyun Joong's new TV Show project, City something. The project was dropped by the network (I think it was SBS) because it was deemed "politically incorrect".
I don't know the true reasons behind this show being cancelled (nobody knows really), but yeah, I think it had to with something regarding that "unspoken rule".
I kinda expanded on your question, but I hope it makes more sense now :)

  8. @tigereyespeppy Usually dramas have a tag on the upper right corner that states the station. Or at the beginning of the drama they give the recommended "viewing" age and there's the station logo too.
In Korea, MBC, SBS, KBS are the 3 main broadcast channels. All the rest are "cable" (I think).

EDIT: Also, the 3 broadcast channels tend to have "higher" productions with more budget (Iris, City Hunter, helloooo?)
Also cable shows have more "freedom" when it comes to romance, ie: sex scenes, nudity. Not so much for broadcast channels.
Faith should have been on cable, guys :))

  9. Hi @sia3 ! We have AC in the living room and the main bed room, but not in the guest bedroom that I'm currently using.... I have to make do with a fan.
@adlyn13 Well, at first she didn't know she was back in time, hence her trying to call 911 with her phone :))
    --
Bwah, I'm too lazy to read all the "boring" parts with the little prince getting killed by poison etc. I want to jump straight to the juicy parts. (Wayy down the road when we pretty much know these two love each other). :))

  10. @adlyn13 Actually, Eun Soo did realize that she had travelled back in time.
Although it's boggles her mind, she thinks that if people can believe in ghosts and in UFO, why not traveling back in time too. So she has come to realize that she did really go back in time...
In fact, she regrets not having studied HanMun (chinese characters) more back when she was still a student. :)

  11. @WutHMone I missed you too guuuurl. How's it going? :D
@tigereyespeppy Yup yup, already in Korea!!! I like all the food here, although some of them look... how should I say it... iffy. Haha.
I just ate fried chicken with hot sauce, and mama. It's Fukushima down in my stomach. I am definitely not made for spicy food. Kimchi, I can handle. But this hot sauce is death :))
Hello to @everyone as well!  \m/

    Random insights:
    - Eun Soo worries about her mom. She thinks that by now her mom would have called her and thinks that she must be worried sick because she's not answering her phone.
Besides her mom, she's convinced that there is no one that would be worried about her absence.
The hospital she worked at would assume that she's got a better job offer somewhere else and would just shrug off her absence.
Although she had friends, she had always made sure that she depended on no one and that no one needed her. She laughed just the right amount, made the right jokes without overdoing too much. That's the way she lived her life until now.
    - She also wonders how long she's been in this land. She has no idea how many days it has passed since she arrived. As a surgeon, she had taken the habit of cutting down her nails because of surgeries. Her nails should have grown by now, but she notices that they didn't. Do nails stop growing when one is put in extreme stressful situations? She had no idea

    - "Should I write a memoir / autobiography?" she asks herself outloud before bursting out laughing. She kept on laughing as she shoved that nasty tasting vegetable into her mouth.
(I love how despite her situation, she keeps on being cheerful and trying to make everything positive)

    - When Jang Bin tells her that CY "Daejang" ordered the tailor to bring her inconspicuous clothes that doesn't bring attention, ES doesn't focus on the "inconspicuous" part but realizes that the "Psycho" is actually the "Daejang". And she thinks it's extremely classy.("Wait- Daejang? Are you telling me that the Psycho is the Daejang? Classy." is what she thinks)

    - Crazy world, crazy Psycho. Eun Soo really can't grasp the fact that CY basically tried to kill himself because he couldn't fulfill the pormise he made to ES. It's something she cannot understand, and she thinks that CY is completely nuts.

    - Jang Bin asks himself why Choi Young made a vow he couldn't possibly guarantee. What the Heaven Doctor meant to Daejang so that he made such a promise? Or perhaps CY already knew he couldn't execute his promise and used the doctor as an excuse to leave this world?
(If JB's hypothesis is indeed true, I think it's a really low move from CY...)

  13. @sia3 Dude you have no idea, the first thing I did when I arrived in France was buy a box of macarons :))But yes, I did eat lots of yummy Korean food!
@Maja thank you for those lovely gifs!
Today I got to watch "Dad where are we going" and "Running Man" live on tv, which felt really weird and oddly powerful :))

  14. Hey guys! How have you been? :D
I am slowly adjusting to Korean life... Which is very busy, very crowded, very technological... Everywhere I go, it like there's this giant sign pointed at me that says "FOREIGNER" - I feel so out of place sometimes, haha.
Yesterday I took a walk with my aunt in some place (don't remember the name, honestly haha, it was nearby Seoul's university medical campus), and she told me that Choi Young used to have a house in that neighborhood, but since it was centuries ago, the house got destroyed and today's there's nothing to see in his house's actual location, but yeah. I thought it was interesting. I just nodded and was all "hmm, it's brilliant" but in my head I was all like "I bet he had loads of sex with Eun Soo in that house" :))
Anywayyyyy---  I come bearing a surprise for you guys:
    2375hv.png

Dat's rite! Here we go again!
So, as usual, I don't own anything, yadda yadda, all the copyright thingy goes to Viche and SJN.

    Off we go!
1/ Even when CY's sick as a dog (he feels like someone lit a fire in his chest everytime he breathes), even when he has important things to take care of (as his soldiers are waiting for his orders about what to do next), he still can't help but think about the "Eun Soo Situation".
He feels bad because he hasn't had the chance to apologize to her yet; that he has brought her here without giving her the choice, that he broke his promise to bring her back to her world.... And he wonders how she's going to react if he talks about all this to her. Is she going to be angry? Or will she burst into tears?

2/ Eun Soo's musings about food:
When Deok-i (what's her name assistant of Jang Bin) brings her food, she sees that there are only 2 kinds of vegetable, a plate of condiment with a bowl of rice.
What- that's it? What is this? Is she like a monk or something? Is what she thinks when she sees the meager food.
She wants sizzling bacon. Eggs with milk. Slightly salted, scrambled eggs. And crunchy toast. The kind that when you spread butter on it, it melts instantly because it's so warm.
Oh and coffee. She craves coffee so much that she can almost smell it. Not so long ago, she had brought a coffee blend specifically recommended by a renowned barista. She was really getting into the coffee craze so she had specifically bought a coffee machine. And had the chance to use it twice only. She could remember it. The lightly bitter yet rich and deep taste of that coffee was to die for.
She took a mouthful of that vegetable and started chewing. She couldn't tell what kind of vegetable it was, but it wasn't pleasant.
"Moom, I want to drink coffeeee" she whined.
But as soon as she said it, she regretted those words. As soon as she opened her mouth, she couldn't help but start to cry. She couldn't do anything about it, the tears just came out.
So she kept on eating while sobbing.

    ----

The level of detail and precision that Eun Soo puts into describing what she wants shows how much she loves food :))
And her sobbing and eating must have been a dang funny sight :))
