SSH and his co-stars in "Player", Lee Si-eon, Krystal Jung and Tae Won-suk appeared on tvN's "Life Bar" on Thursday 27 September 2018. The drama "Player" premiered on Saturday, 29 September 2018.

So they appeared on the program it's all about promoting their new drama.

When SSH was one of the guests there, it was the year he just broke up with his ex.

As reported by Korean media in (around) the end of January 2018, SSH ended the relationship with his ex.

(While Chinese media in 2017 had already reported they broke up.).

It was undeniable that sadness was still visible on his face. But it seems he was struggling hard for healing.

That expression was also seen when he was present with his co-star holding the "Player" press conference.

Actually we easily recognize SSH's expression, when he feels happy >< unhappy, feels comfortable >< uncomfortable with his situation.

Take another look at his facial expressions and behavior when he attended press conferences from 2015 to the last one in 2021.

I've been trying to track him down from 2015 to 2021. There have been ups and downs.

But over time his situation slowly changed in 2019 and peaked in 2020 when he starred in DM until now.

As he always said when promoting "Dinner Mate" to viewers that "Dinner Mate" is a healing drama and he hopes viewers will fall in love and feel flutter after seeing the drama.
It seems he was right, and his words were actually intended for himself.
Because if you look at his condition since 2018 until he starred in Dinner Mate and met SJH, we will see the changes.

SSH has gotten healing from his wounds, just like Kim Hae-kyung in DM.

The proof is that he dared to say "I really like you" to SJH in front of other co-stars and also said he felt happy and honored to be with her.

SEO JI HYE AND HER PASSION

As an actress who graduated from Sungkyunkwan University majoring in acting, of course, Seo Ji-hye also has a passion for other arts fields that can support her career in acting.
Her interest in books, museums and performing arts, both theater and foreign films has broadened her insights so that she can apply her knowledge in her work.

Since she finished starring in the drama Dinner Mate, she rarely posts on her IG about what books she is reading, what theater shows and what movies she is watching during her break.

Meanwhile, if you look at her IG posts in previous years, she often shared the titles of books she read, the lines in the book she liked and her interests for things related to art, such as flower arrangement, quotes from famous people and many others.

It's probably because Seo Ji-hye is so busy right now that she doesn't have much time to share it on her IG, and the pandemic situation isn't over yet so she hasn't been able to visit the places she likes as before.

Seo Ji-hye never posted on her IG any pictures of personal items from famous brands or luxury brands like her best friend often did on her IG. She also did not post many pictures while she was in Europe while undergoing the making of "Road to Beauty" program with JTBC TV.
Though as a young woman who has worked hard and became a celebrity she could do it.
But Seo Ji hye didn't....

In contrast to Song Seung-heon who often posts on his IG all his activities on the set of his dramas so far - rather than his private activities with friends or visiting places that show his interest -, Seo Ji-hye doesn't post much of her activities on set, including when she filmed the program "I Live Alone".
It seems that she really wants to be herself; she wants people to like her acting not her as a star.

She is not only beautiful but very smart and has a great interest in art - any kind of art -, and humanity.

Sharing thoughts about drama "Dinner Mate"

Two days to come on 25 May 2021 will be the one year anniversary of the drama Dinner Mate.

A year ago MBC held a press conference to introduce their new drama "Dinner Mate" which started airing that day. In addition, they also introduced the production director and the four main actors who had give their great acting in the drama.

Unfortunately, at that time there was a pandemic around the world, including in South Korea, so the number of media present was limited. Luckily the event was broadcast live via Youtube, Facebook, MBC Youtube and Victory Contents Youtube channels so fans and drama lovers could watch it.

Dinner Mate tells the story of meeting two people, a man and a woman by coincidence and finally having dinner together.

The development of the story, of course, is not as simple as the story outline above.

The scriptwriter develops the Dinner Mate story outline to be interesting by creating Kim Hae-kyung’s character, a handsome psychiatrist and food psychotherapist, and the Woo Do-hee’s character, a beautiful production director from a digital content company and how the twists and turns of the two meet coincidentally so that they can end up having dinner together

Then how Hae-kyung, who was disappointed with his first love, and vowed never to enter into a new relationship with a woman, and Do-hee, who never gave up falling in love, despite having experienced two failures in love, because of her life principle that "Every beginning there must be a different ending", can get to know each other, share stories and finally be attracted to each other, without knowing each other's backgrounds.

Besides having an interesting and unusual storyline, the production director, of Dinner Mate, Ko Jae-hyun, is very observant. He has succeeded in giving Kim Hae Kyung's role to Song Seung-heon and Woo Doo-hee's role to Seo Ji-hye.

Can't imagine if the roles of Kim Hae-kyung and Woo Do-hee were given to other actors and actresses.

Because seeing Kim Hae-kyung and Woo Do-hee in a drama is like seeing Song Seung-heon and Seo Ji-hye in real life.

That was clearly acknowledged by Ko Jae-hyun PD and Song Seung-heon himself at the press conference that Woo Do-hee was Seo Ji-hye.

And also Song Seung-heon's honest confession that Kim Hae-kyung’s character was 90% resembles him (While laughing he couldn't accept it when Ko Jae-hyun PD said 80%).

As has been reported in the news and it has also been said at the press conference that the story "Dinner Mate" is based on the 2013 webtoon "Shall We Have Dinner Tonight?" (or "Would You Like To Have Dinner Together?")

However, according to some people who have seen the story "Shall We Have Dinner Tonight?" webtoon version,

it turns out to be very different in terms of story development when compared to drama version.

When referring to the story in the webtoon, for the story development in drama, the scriptwriter seems to have been inspired by the webtoon title "Shall We Have Dinner Tonight?" (The lines to invite someone to have dinner together like the character in the webtoon) and the story in the webtoon itself about the meeting of two people,

a man and a woman, who meet by coincidence and eventually become dinner mate.

Meanwhile, to make the development of story ideas more interesting and unusual, the scriptwriter seems to be very inspired by the stories of several Hollywood movies that became box office in the era.

The scriptwriter combines her own ideas with the inspiration for some of her favorite Hollywood movies, to become the original story of the romantic comedy "Dinner Mate".

Actually, the scriptwriter has given "clues" about the inspiration for the story of Dinner Mate, which can be seen in several scenes of the drama.

The clues started from the opening scene of the first episode Dinner Mate (movie Breakfast at Tiffany's) to the last episode scene (movie The Great Gatsby, a novel that Jung Jae-hyuk's character read).

It's like Keannu told Kim Hae-kyung in episode 14, where he reminded Hae-kyung about the philosophy of

"The Heart of Love".

With a laugh, he said to Hae-kyung "I should've majored in philosophy. That way, I'd have been popular.

A little story about a ring

Next month on May 25, 2021 will be the one year anniversary of the drama Dinner Mate.

A wonderful plan has been prepared by the shippers. Can't wait for that moment.

While waiting for good news from our couple, I try to reminisce on a scene where KHK comes to WDH's neighborhood only to return WDH's ring that she unknowingly dropped it in his car.
At that time KHK awkwardly reasoned her that he went somewhere and then he stopped by coincidentally to return her ring.

Imagining if at that time WDH didn't drop her ring on his car, there would be no reason for KHK to come to see her and find out how attractive his new dinner mate was when she was half drunk (he doesn't know yet that she is WDH, the girl from 2NBox who cursed at him).

They only talked about the cooperation contract with KJH which will end soon.

The clarification from Culture Depot that they were not dating and SJH & KJH meeting because of KJH's plan to join the Culture Depot agency clarified the suspicion of the O&Entertainment agency so far that KJH would move to a new agency.

Actually O&Entertainment just wanted to know the truth that KJH really moved to Culture Depot. They made up false rumor involving SJH only to get news that KJH was indeed moving to Culture Depot.

Off topic:
If you've ever read how evil Harvey Weinstein, a producer and co-founded the entertainment company Miramax, has sexually abused several actresses with threats that they wouldn't get roles in his films if they weren't willing to have sex with him.

So that's how cruel the competition in the entertainment world is.

This was proven when they each traveled to Europe and visited the same place, the Basilica de La Sagrada Familia is only one year apart, SJH in 2014 and SSH in 2015.

Imagining seeing a film where a woman and a man - without them knowing it - become connected by destiny.
The woman first appeared to La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona Spain - and then the following year the man also came to the same place. They walked the same trail.

You're right, if we look back at SSH's ILA, when SSH had dinner with Lee Si-eon, Tae Won-suk (both SSH co-stars in Player) and Kim Seo-kyung (as Byeong-jin, SSH's assistant) at SSH's rented villa.

While grilling meat, SSH asked LSE if he would had the shooting tomorrow as a cameo? LSE and TWS agreed that tomorrow they would be shooting DM. Then SSH thanked them.

This surprised the female hosts in studio. Then a video of the shooting scene was shown where SJH and SSH with his grandma's clothes met rice bowl seller (LSE and TWS) in front of rice bowl car.

So they started shooting in Jeju on March 16 and then SSH's reaction his ILA video after SJH and SSH finished their shooting on Jeju.

I came across this old blog about SJH.

In some of her interviews, SJH always said that she wanted to try the action genre.
