  2. "Bloodhounds" In Talks For Season 2 + Woo Do Hwan And Lee Sang Yi Reported To Return Drama Apr 29, 2024 by S Kim Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi may be returning with Season 2 of “Bloodhounds”! On April 29, Sports Seoul reported that the Netflix series “Bloodhounds” confirmed the production of Season 2 and that lead actors Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi will also join the cast for Season 2. The report included that Season 2 of “Bloodhounds” is scheduled to kick off filming in the second half of this year. In response to the report, a representative of Netflix stated, “We are discussing it positively, but nothing has been confirmed yet.” Based on a webtoon, “Bloodhounds” is an action noir about two young people who step into the world of loan sharks in pursuit of money and get caught up in a web of much darker forces. Woo Do Hwan starred as Gun Woo, who enters the world of loan sharks to pay off his debts while Lee Sang Yi took on the role of Woo Jin, who ends up working with Gun Woo. https://www.soompi.com/article/1658003wpp/bloodhounds-in-talks-for-season-2-woo-do-hwan-and-lee-sang-yi-reported-to-return
  3. Yeah, not knowing anything is hard but it is easier to wait for news when we know she will be in another drama. It is not unuasually to not get any news. Because I start many threads, I see how things went for other dramas. There are series that have updates even after a year since they were announced. They start to promote the drama a few months before the airing date but not always. Since it will be broadcast in January, next year, I hope they give us some news soon. At least we have to know more about the whole cast. If they will officially announce the casting, we`ll know more about characters too. We still don`t know anything about So yeon`s role. We are used to having a pictorial every year. I am waiting for So yeon`s news pictorial as well. I don`t accept to not have one this year. I am glad that she still has All for You and Oligio advertisement, I don`t know if she will continue to be the Lottery ambasador but I hope so. At the end of last year she was not present at an award show after many years and I missed that.
  4. People like different things. There are genre that I don`t like and `crazy makjang` is one of them. I like dramas what others find boring. 😆 I don`t have a problem with strong emotions but I don`t like lots of screaming. 🤣 I look for logic, that`s the problem. `Crazy makjang` is illogical so I can`t enjoy watching them. For exemple.... in Penthouse ... forget that the characters are supossed to die and resurect at writer`s will just for the shocking factor but things are happening just because the writer wants to continue the story and she invents new things for the characters just for that. Why Logan attacked a police car (a big felony by the way) just to get Yoon Hee and later paid for a surgical operation to give her voice back? Because years later that was useful to replace Seo Jin who lost her voice. Or Su Ryeon befrending a woman who killed her daughter. Why Seo Jin stole Logan burnt body and how nobody saw anything. The explanation did not make sense either. I could go on with so many illogical moments. Now I find it hilarious how bad it is but not to watch it. 🤣 I don`t watch fantasy kdramas much but I was pleasant surprised that I liked Tale of Nine Tailed 1938 a lot. It was a well made drama. I liked the humor, the friendship, Ryu Hong Joo`s characterization. There were some aspects from the plot that I can complain about, but overall, it was a good watching experience for me.
  5. Nice. I heard other people saying they became her fan after Penthouse. So Yeon had two villain roles (20 years apart) in her career and both were impactful. The role in All About Eve brought her fans and recognition too, but also brought her many problems. There were people who admitted that they hated her for many years and avoided watching her in other productions. I can`t understand how some people can`t diferenciate between a character and a real life persona. So yeon is shy and sweet, one of the nicest girl in the industry. She is very different from the tough women she portrays sometime. After Penthouse she prepared for Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 and it was a production that took a lot of time to film and post production despite being a 12 episode drama. Yes, Yoon Jong-Hoon was cast well for the role. I like Oh Man Seok. He is talented and has charisma but he would not fit the role of Han Yoon Cheol unless it was it was a rewrite.
  6. Jang Ki-yong and Chun Woo-hee find each other through time by Jenzy If the last teaser took us on a detour and acquainted us with our Atypical Family, this week’s two character teasers reroute us back toward our main couple Jang Ki-yong (Now, We Are Breaking Up) and Chun Woo-hee (Delightfully Deceitful) as they heal each other from their respective scars. The first teaser gives us the perspective of our no-longer-time-travelling hero, Bok Gwi-joo (Jang Ki-yong). While he’s depressed and generally apathetic to life, we see him start to melt as he meets his house’s newcomer Do Da-hae (Chun Woo-hee). His voiceover tells us how much he longs for human connection: “There’s no way you would know how much I wished and prayed for someone, from any time, to reach me.” It looks like his wish is starting to come true as he tenderly reaches out for Da-hae’s hand and asks, “Can I love someone again? Is that allowed?” But even this step forward comes with a giant leap backward in the form of Gwi-joo’s traumatic past involving a fire and a collapsed building. An accident he’s never been able to shake since. Thankfully, Da-hae isn’t about to let Gwi-joo drown in his sorrows — literally — as her teaser starts with her running into the ocean Gwi-joo is floating in. She tells him frankly, “I was once saved by someone too, a long time ago.” We then see her terrified in a crowded mall during a fire alarm, and Gwi-joo taking her hand and running outside. “Didn’t you come from the future to grab my hand? I recognized you the first moment we met.” Looks like the two go way back. Is Da-hae connected to the day of Gwi-joo’s accident? Will the two be able to overcome their pain and be together? Will Jang Ki-yong ever get a glow-up haircut? Tune in next week for the premiere to find out! Directed by Jo Hyun-taek (Snowdrop) with screenplay written by Joo Hwa-mi (Welcome), The Atypical Family will premiere on May 4 on JTBC. https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/04/jang-ki-yong-and-chun-woo-hee-find-each-other-through-time/
  7. Chief Detective 1958: Episodes 3-4 by lovepark The cases get a more serious this week as the body count climbs up. Thankfully, the villains aren’t as cunning as they think, and our heroes aren’t as bumbling as they appear. Though the odds are never in their favor, with a bit of gumption and teamwork, our heroes manage to pull off the impossible and save the day once again. EPISODES 3-4 The shenanigans continue with our newly formed unit as they dive headlong into danger. While their methods may be unconventional (and even questionable at times), their sense of justice remains strong and bright in a sea of corruption and ne’er-do-wells. Of course, Young-han and his team’s integrity are more like liabilities to their superintendent who wishes they follow his orders for a change — especially when it comes to keeping his pockets full of coin. His latest asinine command is to have the entire precinct guard Lee Jung-jae in his upcoming meeting, but our motley crew have bigger concerns than protecting the underworld leader. A string of bank robberies grips the nation, leaving a trail of innocent deaths in their wake. As the incidents get closer to Seoul, it catches Young-han’s attention, and with the help of his team, he devises a plan to stop these criminals once and for all. In the midst of all these preparations though, Young-han forgets about the date he planned with Hye-joo as thanks for saving his life. In order to make it up to her, he visits her bookstore in his new suit and fixes her broken shelf. As they mend their relationship and get to know each other better, she asks about the scar on his wrist, and he tells her that he got when he was a student soldier — a nightmare that still haunts him. After hearing his answer, she buys him a bracelet to cover up the scar, leaving Young-han even more smitten than before. Though I’m sure Young-han wouldn’t mind spending more time with Hye-joo, duty calls. Thanks to Ho-jung’s sleepless (and bathless) nights, they discover a pattern in the robbers’ operations and realize that the next hit will be on the day of Lee Jung-jae’s meeting. They also piece together the clues about which bank will be targeted, and through a game of rock-paper-scissors, Sang-soon goes undercover as a security guard. In case things go awry, Sang-soon also drugs the branch manager, ensuring that no one has access to the vault, and his rather unethical decision pays off since the team’s plan veers off course. The first hitch is their superintendent who knew his troublesome unit was up to no good, and like any rational person, he chose to escalate the situation by throwing them in a holding cell. This means Sang-soon is the only one at the bank when the robbers charge in, making their original plan to nab the criminals outside obsolete. The team, at least, accounted for this, and with some crocodile tears and emotional manipulation, they convince an officer to release them in time to initiate plan B. Unfortunately, they run into a second problem: the robbers take a hostage for their getaway, and it’s none other than Hye-joo. Dressed as one of the robbers, Young-han flashes his bracelet to Hye-joo who recognizes it, but not long after, the other robbers start questioning his identity, too. Our daring leading lady makes a distraction — fulfilling a childhood dream in the process — and her moment of staged hysteria allows Young-han to catch the robbers by surprise. As they fight in the tight jeep, Young-han swerves away from a pedestrian and crashes into a parked vehicle. Though the leader tries to escape, he finds himself surrounded by officers on all sides. Since the superintendent didn’t want to come, Young-han brought the robbers to him. Despite actively hindering the team on the bank case, the superintendent takes all the credit for the splashy arrest, including a hefty cash award. The crew doesn’t mind the loss, but why let their scumbag boss take the money when they could spread rumors that he donated it all to orphans, instead. Speaking of orphans, 1950s Korea has no shortage of problems, and the next one that lands in unit one’s lap is a distressed mother looking for her kidnapped baby. In a grim turn of events, a military platoon uncovered a grave of infants, and after some sleuthing, Young-han learns that the missing baby was part of the group. The horrors don’t end there, though. As the team digs deeper into this case, they uncover a child trafficking ring led by an infamous pro-Japanese swindler who makes my blood boil. There’s a special place in hell reserved for people like her, and Sang-soon, in particular, agrees with my sentiment. As an orphan himself, our mad dog feels a special connection to this case, and the abuse he witnesses hidden underneath the gaudy exterior of the orphanage reminds him of his own past experience in a broken system meant to protect the weak and powerless. However, without solid evidence, our team cannot touch the demon director since she rubs elbows with the elite and uses her connections to avoid arrest. Thus, our heroes work from the outside in and track down a cosmetic saleswoman who kidnaps children to fuel her gambling addiction. They also gather evidence from the clinic in cahoots with the director, and these two crucial testaments give the team enough justification to raid the orphanage and make arrests. Alas, her two underlings — the ones doing the actual dirty work — take the fall for their boss who eagerly pretends to be just as much a victim as everyone else. more https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/04/chief-detective-1958-episodes-3-4/

  13. How many places we`ll have to visit through this game? So far we had three clues. I want to thank all contributors of this game for the idea and hard work. 👏
  14. No, I have not visited the places from the clues. Unfortunetly, I have not traveled outside of Europe. I can`t say I travelled many times outside the country either.
  15. I did not know that she followed Lee Sehee's Instagram. I am not surprised. She had two or three of her J Wide company `s colleagues in her last drama if I remember corectly. In Penthouse she played with Choi Ye-Bin. It is a practice for the management companies to sign as many actors as possible with their main stars. They accepted the drama offer but I don`t know why they don`t announce it officially yet. Do you like So yeon from the `Penthouse` drama? She gained some fans with that drama. If you read the thread from some time, you know that I hated Penthouse. 😅 I disliked so much these kind of crazy makjang dramas but I watched So yeon`s scenes , I translated with Google articles related to her performance and I read comments. It was fun to read the comments. Some loved the drama the others hated it. As much as I hated the drama, I apreciate that So yeon had a role in which she was in the foreground and showed her talent. Speaking of Penthouse... Yoon Jong-Hoon was not the first choice for the role but turned up well. There were a lot of changes/ rewrites. Cheon Seo-Jin and Ha Yoon-Cheol were supposed to have two kids, for example. After Oh Man Seok rejected the drama offer, they hired Park Eun seok to play Seo Jin`s husband. From his interview, they were not pleased with him and they offered him another role. I suspect that he and So yeon did not have chemistry on screen. Who knows!
  16. I have a feeling that I did not watch any drama chosen for this game. 😅 But I guessed right away the drama for the 3rd clue. Thanks for the extra clue. 🤗 Now I got it.
  17. Team Dramabeans: What we’re watching (April 27, 2024) by DB Staff So, what are we all watching this week? What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in… javabeans Lovely Runner: This is my happy pill of the week. I’m trying to hold off watching the new episodes for as long as possible, saving them up as motivation and reward to push through the stresses of corporate worklife — I need that light at the end of the tunnel. So far I’ve made it to Tuesday. I can see intensifying angst in our future, but the deepening relationship between Sol and Sun-jae is so sweet and earnest that it buoys my spirit even when I fear what’s around that corner. (Well, the earnestness is mostly on his side, but that is like 90% of his appeal and I’m not complaining. Such a pure and lumbering sweetheart is he, and his failed attempts to play it cool give me inordinate amounts of joy.) I can appreciate that the time-travel mechanism makes it extremely difficult to change one’s fate, but I won’t give up hoping Sol’s faith moves metaphorical mountains and gives us a happy outcome. I won’t even contemplate the alternative. mistyisles Lovely Runner: This show just continues to be exactly what I didn’t know I was craving. I’ll admit I could do without the brother/best friend scenes, but I love the rest so much that I don’t find those parts as annoying as I probably would otherwise. I adore how Sol is simultaneously so protective of and exasperated with her younger self, and I can’t blame either of the boys for swooning over her — though I appreciate the distinction that Sun-jae likes *both* versions of her, while Tae-sung didn’t seem to find her interesting (let alone anything else) until the version of her from the future rejected him. Speaking of Sun-jae, watching him come to terms with losing one dream (swimming) and finding another (singing) is beautiful and heartbreaking even without knowing how tragically it ended the first time around. I know Sol is just desperate for any way to save his life, but I really hope she can find a way to do it that doesn’t prevent him from joining Eclipse. He was SO happy on that stage, and it kills me that he apparently lost that joy somewhere along the way. DaebakGrits Lovely Runner: This story is bringing me life, and Byeon Woo-seok is giving me so many squees. The last time I looked forward to Mondays this much was when Business Proposal was airing. What can I say? I’m a sucker for a male lead who’s secretly been in love with the female lead for a long time (in a non-stalkerish way) and finally gets his unrequited crush requited. https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/04/team-dramabeans-what-were-watching-april-27-2024/

  23. Goodbye Earth: Episode 1 (First Impressions) by solstices Disorienting and despair-stricken, Goodbye Earth paints its tale of impending destruction in broad strokes as mayhem descends upon the country doomed to be obliterated by a meteorite. Netflix’s latest apocalyptic offering clearly has a hefty budget, but what it has in style and scale it unfortunately lacks in storytelling substance. Editor’s note: This is an Episode 1 review only. For a place to chat about the entire drama, visit the Drama Hangout. EPISODE 1 With an intriguing premise and an extensive cast of veteran actors, one would expect Goodbye Earth to have the makings of a disaster epic. Unfortunately, its premiere is undercut by its ambiguous narrative choices. By throwing us headfirst into the action, frequently cutting back and forth between flashbacks and the present day, the drama mirrors the chaos of an impending apocalypse — but its lack of emotional and narrative anchors leaves its viewers adrift as it whisks us from one scenario to another, without sufficient time to develop an investment in the characters and their trajectories. At the heart of the story is a friend group comprising four very different individuals, with the first episode mainly focusing on the perspective of our protagonist JIN SE-KYUNG (Ahn Eun-jin). As a middle school teacher with an empathetic heart, Se-kyung derives much joy from nurturing the students she cares deeply for. That is, until their idyllic days of normalcy are ripped away from them in an instant. Despite the rapid scientific advancements of 2025 and the invention of space probes meant to prevent this exact scenario, a meteorite is headed straight for Earth — and it’ll strike Korea in three hundred days. Life as people once knew it is no more. We first meet Se-kyung a hundred days into the disaster response, amidst a panicked flurry of people attempting to flee the country towards safer pastures, before flashbacks contextualize her journey to the current point. For the sake of clarity, though, let’s proceed in chronological order — I’m not averse to nonlinear storytelling, but this drama’s execution is more confusing and less compelling than it should be. In preparation for the inevitable disaster, the Korean government declares martial law. Worried about her researcher fiancé HA YOON-SANG (Yoo Ah-in) who’s currently working in the States, Se-kyung contacts him through video call. Yoon-sang reassures her that he’ll return soon, showing off the rings he’s gotten for their wedding — but mere seconds later, Se-kyung is forced to watch helplessly on the other side of the screen as hostile parties attack his laboratory. Right before the connection cuts out, Yoon-sang instructs a tearful Se-kyung to seek out FATHER BAEK (Kang Seok-woo). Heeding his words, Se-kyung heads to the church, but she’s one step too late. The military has set their sights on Father Baek, condemning the congregants’ prayers as an unlawful rally. Despite the protests of the young priest WOO SUNG-JAE (Jeon Sung-woo!!), Father Baek is hauled away by the soldiers, leaving Sung-jae futilely attempting to appease the indignant crowd. All Se-kyung can do is push past Sung-jae to run into the empty church, where she was to be wed, as a hapless sorrow sinks into her weary countenance. Meanwhile, the seeds of unrest have been germinating, and they manifest in public rallies, conspiracy theories, and reckless behavior. A jailbreak culminates in an outright riot on the streets, with the ex-prisoners kidnapping vans full of middle school students. By the time the authorities track them down, most victims have already been killed, leaving nothing but piles of shoes for their bereaved parents to weep over. Both these scenes ought to be gut-wrenching, but they fell somewhat flat for me. We barely get to know Yoon-sang before he’s wrenched away, so it’s difficult to form any attachment to his character or Se-kyung’s longing. As for the prisoners’ rampage, it unfolded so quickly and in such a streamlined manner that it inadvertently created a sense of detachment — you know you’re witnessing an awful atrocity, but you just can’t feel it viscerally. Fast forward to 201 days before the meteor strike, and Se-kyung is bidding goodbye to her student JUNG HA-YUL (Kim Do-hye), who was a survivor of the trafficking tragedy. Ha-yul’s family is part of the crowd seeking refuge in other countries, and she stuffs a letter into Se-kyung’s backpack before she departs. Except she doesn’t actually leave after all, because her father JUNG SOO-GEUN (Park Hyuk-kwon) gets flagged by the embassy, forcing them to stay behind. Ha-yul’s letter contains information about her captors — some time ago, new neighbors had moved in next door, bringing fancy cars and loud music with them. Amongst them had been the man who murdered Ha-yul’s classmates. Appalled, Se-kyung conveys the information to her soldier friend KANG IN-AH (Kim Yoon-hye), hoping she can enact justice on their behalf. more https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/04/goodbye-earth-episode-1-first-impressions/
  24. Fighting injustice with furious fists in The Fiery Priest 2 by solstices https://d263ao8qih4miy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/fieryp2_0.jpg Five years after SBS’s The Fiery Priest brought hot-blooded justice and slapstick hilarity to our screens, the action-comedy is back for a second season of crime-fighting. With most of our original team regrouping, the twelve-episode sequel is poised to rekindle fond memories while forging ahead into new territory, as headstrong as ever. Kim Nam-gil (Song of the Bandits) stars once again as the quick-tempered Catholic priest Kim Hae-il, whose fists fly faster than one can say “Amen.” With a traumatic past from his ex-NIS agent days, Hae-il is driven by anger, redemption, and an unwavering moral compass. Reprising her role, Honey Lee (Knight Flower) has Hae-il’s back as the brazenly ambitious prosecutor Park Kyung-seon, who won’t hesitate to mow down anything and anyone that stands in her way. To round out our main trio, Kim Sung-kyun (Moving) is ready to cuff more baddies as the violent crimes detective Gu Dae-young. From a bumbling pushover to a fully-fledged fighter, the once-timid Dae-young has come a long way, cementing himself as a dependable partner to Hae-il. While it’s a pity Geum Sae-rok (Soundtrack #2) won’t be returning, we have a new officer on the block to fill her shoes. BIBI (The Worst of Evil) will join our team as Gu Ja-young, a Busan cop in an underappreciated drugs team — and judging by her name, it seems like justice runs in the Gu family veins. As for our villains, it’s an Island reunion with Sung Joon (Call It Love) and our hero crossing blades yet again. After climbing up the ranks of the Laos cartel he’d been sold to as an orphan child, the drug king Kim Hong-shik has his sights on Busan as the next stage of his operation. He’s already joined hands with the corrupt prosecutor Nam Doo-heon, played by Seo Hyun-woo (A Shop For Killers), whose lack of scruples has earned him no shortage of promotions by his equally immoral superiors. Together, their insatiable greed will pose a whole new threat to our heroes. Hopefully we’ll get some cameos from Season 1’s cast, too — I’ll certainly be overjoyed to see our cinnamon roll priest Jeon Sung-woo (Goodbye Earth) reunite with his favorite hyung. Helmed by PD Park Bo-ram (Through the Darkness) and scriptwriter Park Jae-beom (Vincenzo), the duo behind the first season, The Fiery Priest 2 is slated for an October 18 premiere. https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/04/fighting-injustice-with-furious-fists-in-the-fiery-priest-2/
