  7. The Midnight Studio: Episodes 12-13 by mistyisles Our photographer and his team are slowly but steadily unraveling the truth about their respective and shared pasts, but an ancient evil is just as steadily catching up to them. Can he find a way to save himself and his loved ones before time runs out, or is it time for yet another painful goodbye? EPISODE 12-13 Picking back up with Bom’s resurfaced memories of the tunnel crash that killed her parents, we now know that Ki-won happened on the scene while searching for something he called “Death’s Pass.” He told her about it as a distraction, and gave her the Midnight Studio camera to hold, hoping it would keep her alive while he went to call for help. Unfortunately, the perpetrators of the original crash — who would later become the murdered vacation home thieves — returned to retrieve a dropped cell phone, and deliberately mowed Ki-won down to eliminate him as a witness to their hit-and-run. These details help fill in the gaps of what happened, but they don’t move our team much closer to proving it happened or that Prosecutor Lee covered it up. So while Bom tries to remember the two months she spent as a ghost living with teenage Ki-joo, we spend the better part of an episode with the ghost assistants and their respective relationships. Sung-ho agonizes over what to text Ji-won for so long that she gets impatient and goes on a blind date with some other guy hoping it’ll provoke Sung-ho to intervene, which is exactly what happens. The two finally go on their first official (honestly adorable) date, wherein Sung-ho works around his ten-minute possession limit by changing hosts repeatedly without regard for gender or any particular age. Of course, the timer interrupts their attempt at a kiss, and then they run into Bom and Ki-joo and Ji-won learns all about the Midnight Studio at last. As for Nam-gu, Na-rae feels so hounded by his lingering presence that she begs his soul to move on and leave her be. She pleads her case — she was so lonely that she even lied about liking flowers in hopes he’d see them everywhere, think of her, and pick up the phone — but promises she’ll live in guilt and misery if he’ll just leave. Through tears, knowing she can’t hear him, Nam-gu promises to do so. Before he leaves, though, the team has a mystery to solve. Nam-gu tracks down the sole witness to the vacation home murders, who subsequently vanishes again, only to turn up dead in a bathtub. Which belongs to a third person involved in the tunnel crash: the driver, then a drunk teenager who knew his father, Prosecutor Lee, could get him out of any trouble his joyride might cause. Today, we and the Midnight Studio team know him as Detective Lee. All that time he spent snooping around the studio? Far from coincidence. Not only did he kill Bom’s parents and Ki-won, but he set the whole vacation home murder scenario up to keep his ex-friends from spilling about the tunnel crash. To make matters worse, he now carries The Evil Spirit (you know the one) around on his back. Ki-joo learns all this in the worst possible way: alone and unarmed in Detective Lee’s apartment, with Detective Lee and The Spirit blocking his exit. He puts up a desperate fight, and he does make it to his Ferris wheel date with Bom… but flows right through her when she goes to hug him. Oof, all he can do is apologize for breaking his promise not to make her cry, while she processes what this means. There is one sliver of hope, however: Ki-joo isn’t dead yet. He’s hospitalized with a severe stab wound, but as long as his body remains alive, he’s only a temporary ghost (just like twelve-year-old Bom after the tunnel crash). With one week remaining to his 35th birthday, he and the (actual) ghosts head out to find a way to destroy The Spirit while Bom stays behind to protect his body with the Safe Zone. But Detective Lee is not so easily deterred. He plants the murder witness’s corpse on Bom’s property and has her arrested. Several times, The Spirit spurs him on to attempt to kill her, but another detective unknowingly interrupts each time. Meanwhile, Ji-won and the ghosts take advantage of the opportunity to move Ki-joo’s body to the VIP ward. It’s only a matter of time before Detective Lee finds the new room, but the switch does keep him busy searching long enough for our team’s ghost network to dig up black box footage of Detective Lee moving the corpse, and for Bom to convince the other detective to reexamine additional evidence that points straight to Detective Lee. So when Detective Lee forces his way into the VIP ward, the cops are ready to ambush and arrest him. But with an ancient evil spirit attached to him, it’s all too easy for Detective Lee to grab Bom as a hostage and take her up to the rooftop. The police manage to shoot him in the shoulder, forcing him away from Bom, but before anyone can stop him, he grabs her again and dives off the roof. more https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/04/the-midnight-studio-episodes-12-13/

Helmed by director Ahn Pan Seok of the hit drama “Something in the Rain,” “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” is set against the backdrop of Daechi, a neighborhood renowned as the epicenter of private education in Korea. The plot centers around an instructor who tirelessly assists a student named Lee Joon Ho (Wi Ha Joon) in gaining admission to a prestigious university. So Ju Yeon will portray Nam Cheong Mi, a new Korean language instructor who gets into Daechi Chase academy at the same time as Lee Joon Ho. Despite having a “weakness” in her resume, she is a determined individual who has steadily built her career as an instructor to compensate for this shortcoming. In the newly released still, Nam Cheong Mi maintains her smile even moments before taking the instructor exam at Daechi Chase, showcasing her resilience. Park Eun Suk And Joe In Intensify Suspense And Thrill In Upcoming Drama "Dare To Love Me" Drama Preview Apr 25, 2024 by D Lee The upcoming KBS2 drama “Dare to Love Me” has released stills of Park Eun Suk and Joe In! Based on the webtoon of the same name, “Dare to Love Me” is a romantic comedy about the love story between Shin Yoon Bok (Kim Myung Soo), a 21st-century scholar from Seongsan village who believes deeply in Confucian values, and his art teacher Kim Hong Do (Lee Yoo Young), who has a reckless and straightforward personality. Park Eun Suk will add a unique touch to the drama, portraying Lee Joon Ho, the owner of Seongsankwan, a high-end traditional Korean food restaurant. Unlike his friendly appearance, Lee Joon Ho will play a suspicious character full of desire who will add tension to the drama. In the released stills, Lee Joon Ho appears to be gazing somewhere with a cold and stern expression devoid of laughter, adding a sense of tension and mystery, which further raises curiosity about what inner thoughts he might be concealing. Her identity, which has the potential to change the entire course of events with her mere presence, becomes even more intriguing. In the released stills, Shin Yi Bok looks innocent through her harmless smile. 10. Lee Je Hoon, Lee Dong Hwi, Choi Woo Sung, And Yoon Hyun Soo Make A Tight-Knit Squad In "Chief Inspector 1958" Drama Preview Apr 25, 2024 by S Nam “Chief Detective 1958” has unveiled new stills of the upcoming episode! MBC’s “Chief Detective 1958” is the prequel to the classic Korean series “Chief Inspector,” which ran for 18 years from 1971 to 1989 and achieved an incredible peak of 70 percent ratings back in its heyday. While the original show was set in the 1970s and 1980s (present day at the time), “Chief Detective 1958” is set even earlier, in 1958. Lee Je Hoon plays a younger version of the titular chief detective Park Young Han, who was played by Choi Bool Am in the original series. The newly released stills depict the four detectives including Park Yong Han, Kim Sang Soon (Lee Dong Hwi), Cho Kyung Hwan (Choi Woo Sung), and Seo Ho Jung (Yoon Hyun Soo) standing in the way of a group of paupers roaming the alley of Jongnam Market. Investigation Team 1 has been tasked with taking care of the paupers, but for some reason, they have white powder over their lips. Viewers are curious to find out how Park Young Han and the other detectives will take care of this new task. More stills depict the detectives looking very serious as they carry out a furtive plan at Park Young Han’s boarding house rather than Jongnam Police Station, making viewers wonder if they’re trying to escape someone’s scrutiny. In particular, the large map laid out in front of them hints at the discovery of something grand. The next episode of “Chief Detective 1958” airs on April 26 at 9:50 p.m. KST. https://www.soompi.com/article/1657070wpp/lee-je-hoon-lee-dong-hwi-choi-woo-sung-and-yoon-hyun-soo-make-a-tight-knit-squad-in-chief-inspector-1958
  11. What are the symptoms for k-traumas? I don`t let any kdrama to affect me. No matter how bad they are, I forget everything after a while. I vote everything from Kim Soon Ok. I can`t watch anything of that writer. Or any crazy makjang stuff. I should include another `makjang maestro` Im Sung-Han too but since I did not watch anything of that writer, I will vote only Kim Soon Ok`s dramas. 256
  12. Three reasons why Lee Je-hoon’s ‘Investigation Team Leader 1958’ captivated viewers ‘Investigation Team Leader 1958’ is receiving rave reviews as a well-made return. MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Investigation Chief 1958' (written by Kim Young-shin, directed by Kim Seong-hoon) is a highly anticipated work that heralds the birth of a new legend, captivating viewers in just two episodes and announcing a successful return. The viewership rating for the first broadcast exceeded double digits, and it received an unusual response by ranking 3rd overall in TV-OTT integrated drama topicality and 1st overall in the number of K-drama news articles (Fundex, as of the 3rd week of April). We looked into the secret to the popularity of 'Investigation Team Leader 1958', which aims to become a legend. # Various attractions and unique pleasures set in the ‘1958’ era ‘Investigation Team Leader 1958’ chose to be a prequel to ‘Investigation Team Leader’ and clearly differentiated itself by being set in 1958, the time when Captain Park (played by Choi Bul-am) was a young man. As director Kim Seong-hoon said, “The point is to bring out the atmosphere and colors of the era,” the visuals of the sets, costumes, and props that perfectly embodied 1958 were a delight to the eyes. In addition, it vividly portrayed the joys and sorrows of the lives of the people of that era, highlighting the humanity of Detective Park Young-han (played by Lee Je-hoon). Also, as with the original ‘Investigation Chief’, expectations are also high that ‘Investigation Chief 1958’ will also deal with crime subjects that provide a glimpse into the times from 1958 to 1963. # Retains the charm of the original and adds newness to the prequel Fans of the original film expressed their joy at the return of ‘Chief of Investigation’ after 35 years. The signal music, the symbol of 'Investigation Chief 1958', recreated the same melody as the original with a sensuous arrangement and three-dimensional performance, and the role names of the detectives in 'Investigation Chief 1958' used the names of existing actors, creating nostalgia for viewers who remember the original. Above all, there was a reason for the confidence of writer Jay Park, who cited “the fun of a prequel” as a differentiator. If Captain Park of ‘Investigation Team Leader’ was a mature detective with maturity and skill, Park Young-han of ‘Investigation Team Leader 1958’ was a growing detective with passion and spirit. The character narratives of each of Park Young-han, Kim Sang-sun, Kyung-hwan Cho, and Ho-jeong Seo, as well as how they met and came together, drew more interest by depicting the beginning of the legend. In addition, new characters such as Lee Hye-joo (played by Seo Eun-soo), Yoo Dae-cheon (played by Choi Deok-moon), and Bong Nan-sil (played by Jeong Soo-bin) further enriched the play. # Completed well-made retro crime investigation drama The impeccable synergy between the director, writer, and actors was instrumental in leading to such successive favorable reviews. The efforts of director Kim Seong-hoon, who tried to remain faithful to the essence of ‘story’ even in his first drama directing, and writers Kim Young-shin and Park Jay-beom, who wrote a detailed and well-structured script encompassing comedy, action, and romance, shone. Lastly, the passionate performances of actors such as Lee Je-hoon, Lee Dong-hwi, Choi Woo-sung, Yoon Hyun-soo, and Seo Eun-soo, who showed more affection and sincerity for the work than ever before, contributed greatly to the creation of a well-made retro crime investigation drama. The production team of ‘Investigation Team Leader 1958’ said, “If episodes 1 and 2 announced the departure of young Park Young-han and the detectives, a full-fledged investigation into the case will begin with episode 3, which airs this week. “Please look forward to the various cases that reflect the times of 1958 and the analog investigation of the four detectives who will confront them.” Episode 3 of MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama ‘Investigation Team Leader 1958’ will be aired at 9:50 PM on the 26th. https://www.mk.co.kr/news/broadcasting-service/10998416

  16. L dares to choose Confucius over Lee Yoo-young by tccolb KBS’s upcoming Dare to Love Me has been busily pushing out promos, with a new poster quickly following the first teaser where we meet our soon-to-be-lovers pair: L (a.k.a. Kim Myung-soo)(Numbers) and Lee Yoo-young (Insider). I didn’t expect our modern woman Kim Hong-do (Lee Yoo-young) to already be smitten, but there’s no doubt she’s head-over-heels with that dreamy gaze opening the teaser. It’s pretty admirable as well that she doesn’t hide the heart on her sleeve, confessing with a sunny earnestness that, “I like you.” Hong-do addresses him with familiarity and by name. But our Shin Yoon-bok (L) is a man of grandiose proprieties who may as well have come from the Joseon past. Hong-do is thus taken aback when Yoon-bok’s non-response is a respectfully formal, “I am fine,” as if rejecting a waiter’s offer of napkins. Hong-do doesn’t understand all the fuss and wants to at least exchange numbers to keep in touch. But Yoon-bok raises a hand to stop her, once again deflecting, “I am fine.” We wouldn’t have a rom-com, though, if our hero doesn’t eventually eat his words. In the meantime, we watch as our heroine grows frustrated by the teacher-zoning and the final sequence ends with Hong-do’s desperate plea to not be treated with respect. With production for the webtoon adaptation led by PD Jang Yang-ho and writer Park Yumi, KBS’s Dare to Love Me is slated to premiere on May 13. https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/04/l-dares-to-choose-confucius-over-lee-yoo-young/
  17. Hide: Episodes 9-10 by quirkycase We’re in the final stage now as everyone readies for the inevitable showdown between our two formidable women. With the stakes higher than ever, our heroine prepares to end this fight once and for all. But her adversary has a few tricks up her sleeve that might just be more than our heroine can handle. EPISODES 9-10 In the penultimate week, we finally unearth Yeon-joo’s mysterious motivations for this whole elaborate and violent game. And it turns out that underneath it all she’s, like so many villains before her, just a hurt child lashing out. Her hatred of Moon-young indeed stems from the relationship between their fathers and its tragic ending. To make sense of it all, we rewind to the night Moon-young’s father left her. His friend HA JAE-PIL came to visit, but it wasn’t a happy occasion. It seems the money issues impacted him too, and they got into a fight. The man stumbled and fell off a Cliff of Doom. Rather than call for help, Moon-young’s father watched the man die and then planted his own wallet in the dead man’s pocket. And here’s where we learn Moon-young’s secret: she’s complicit in her father’s identity theft. That night, he instructed Moon-young to lead the police to the cliff in two days and identify the dead body as his. The teenaged Moon-young, though reluctant, does what he says and lies that the body is her father’s. As luck would have it, the dead man was Yeon-joo’s father. She spent decades looking for him, but because his body was misidentified, she only discovered his death five years ago when she located Moon-young’s father masquerading as Jae-pil. Moon-young comes clean to her sidekicks about her father and the deception she participated in all those years ago. Only Jin-woo, who has become quite the Moon-young cheerleader, is supportive of her decision to act as her father’s lawyer. She knows this trial is likely a trap, but she’s ready to put this all to bed. She and her father both feel guilty, and Moon-young decides it’s time for them to atone. Once again, she goes for a dramatic court reveal. On day one of the trial, she announces that Jae-pil pleads guilty to the murder of Chairman Choi. She then discloses her father’s true identity, stunning Yeon-joo and the entire courtroom by baldly stating both her and her father’s role in what happened to the real Jae-pil. She promises to take responsibility and cooperate with any investigation. There’s just one teensy problem here: as you may recall, Moon-young’s father did not murder Chairman Choi. Moon-young’s reasoning for having her father plead guilty is that Yeon-joo set the trial up as a trap anyway with evidence that’s difficult to refute – they might as well take the loss and view this as punishment. I’m with Shin-hwa that this feels like a cop out. By fixating on righting past wrongs, Moon-young is covering up the recent murder committed by Yeon-joo and Chairman Choi’s son. It feels like Moon-young is just exhausted at this point and hoping that Yeon-joo will see this as an acceptable ending. Of course, Yeon-joo is not satisfied with this conclusion. Like any good villain, she wants Moon-young to suffer the same torment she did and that means leaving her alone and bereft. Her next move is to bribe Sung-jae’s selfish father to fabricate evidence that either Moon-young or Sung-jae were involved in corruption; they need a reason to suspend that phony redevelopment project, and someone needs to take the fall. Unsurprisingly, he chooses to spare his evil son and throw Moon-young under the bus. Sung-jae is truly the product of his self-serving, victim-blaming parents. The minute he finds out about Moon-young’s father, he makes the whole situation about him. How dare she lie to him for all those years? He puts it on par with his own deception – you know, feigning suicide and having an affair – and acts like she has no moral leg to stand on now. His victim complex is truly astounding. Determined to destroy Moon-young’s life, Yeon-joo teams up with Sung-jae and mommy dearest to help them fight for custody of Bom. They drum up a bogus abuse charge, accusing Moon-young of neglect and deeming her an unfit mother. The family’s money talks, and they get the police to put Bom in their custody during the investigation. Bom already told her father she didn’t want to live with him, but he’d rather traumatize her by forcibly separating her from her mother than lose to Moon-young. Moon-young is naturally beside herself and comes closer to breaking than at any point so far. Thankfully, she’s got friends on her side to keep her from faltering. Jin-woo takes point, encouraging her to think like a lawyer and fight this legally. He reminds her that while she can’t contact Bom, he can. So he becomes the go-between, passing messages between Bom and Moon-young. more https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/04/hide-episodes-9-10/
