@wildaffairs Thank you for posting that excerpt! Hahaha sorry my friend, but you did misunderstand the translator there. What it says there, "好像捨不得來著" the "來著" is just a meaningless modifier to end the sentence that said, "She seemed to be really reluctant (to leave the staff)". It did not mean that she was "reluctant to come". The translator's word choice was what caused the confusion though! And exactly why I don't exactly have high confidence in whatever I myself translated from Chinese translation... I hope at least the general idea was correctly captured!

The underlined part, "Noona really can't bear to come here" did appear in any of the three versions I've read today, I think in all of the versions that I read LJS said something along the line of Noona really couldn't bear separating with the crew... So just curious where was it that you saw this version?
I even read a version that said HHJ said, "my heart ached (to see LJS lacking confidence in his acting skills)". LOL, time like this I really wish I could read Korean! I'll wait for translation by other major fansites to decide on a version I am comfortable with, but regardless this one thing is for sure- Han Hyo-joo and Lee Jong-suk really do have a very heart-warming, mutually caring relationship between them, whether or not it's romantic in nature
The following tidbit from Dazed's editor, which I found interesting, is translated from a Chinese translation too, cr: Baidu Honey Couple Bar
Editor: Tokyo's weather nearing the end of September is unexpectedly hot. In a weather that felt like we've returned to mid-summer, and in spite of wearing layers of thick clothing, there was no trace of impatience on Han Hyo-joo and Lee Jong-suk's faces. The intimate chemistry that the two had during W had carried over to the pictorial.
Haha, just thought it was funny that the editor felt that way looking at JongJoo. And she/he also mentioned that there were over 20 staff who were involved in the photoshooting (!), she/he also credit staff from BH and YG, and I found that interesting too.
It looked like Jong-suk had a GREAT TIME in Taiwan!!! So happy to see him like that and I think he's always been very happy whenever he visited Taiwan, kekeke or maybe I'm just biased as Taiwan is my hometown

I am so in love with the new Dazed pictures, exactly for all the flaws some fans are complaining about- namely, the 'unfinished' quality especially in the shot where Jong-suk was looking at Hyo-joo adjusting her ring, and the other picture where the framing was bad and there were even traffic cones in the background; the repetitiveness of JS's posture, with his profile pressed against Hyo-joo's face or hair in THREE pictures; and the overall casualness of the shots. I love them because sure, these photos would have been so much prettier had JongJoo done the usual and posed with the sole purpose of making themselves and the products they are wearing look good, after all both have done so countless times, just take a look at all of JongJoo's other magazine pictorials you'll see how they typically carry themselves in these situations. But instead what we got, with the exception to the two covers which indeed meet the normal fashion magazine standard, are almost like the informal 'couple photos' that ordinary people do for non-commercial purposes. Especially the one with JS looking at HJ adjusting her ring (he did that in W's bicycle date scene as well, is he trying to memorize her ring size? keke), I am almost certain they weren't even posing for a shot and the cameraman simply clicked the shutter to capture the tender moment. And any fan who has followed Jong-suk for more than a month would know, that he's NEVER done photo shoots with so many frames of him not facing the camera lol! I kinda doubt it was the cameraman that made him pose like that in so many frames, and suspect it was his own volition- honestly, those photos can be used in an advertisement starring Hyo-joo for a shampoo or a perfume haha! OR they can be like how I see them- just Jong-suk being himself in front of the woman of his heart
LOL but gotta admit, since the main characters of these photos became 'the relationship between Jong-suk and Hyo-joo' instead of the products, or even Jong-suk and Hyo-joo individually, the brands may not be very satisfied with the results. Or maybe they are, since JongJoo make almost anything they wear look good and desirable haha.

@alliamoon I've seen one star thanking the tabloids for not revealing his relationship with another celeb until AFTER their relationship has been stabilized, so who knows maybe the Korean tabloids are more mellow these days? Keke. But... I actually think Dispatch is keeping their eyes on JongJoo. Firstly there was that report back in July mocking JS for having his eyes locked on HJ at the press con, then there's this Dispatch reporter who was the ONLY media outlet that was there at Gimpo to take pictures of HJ returning from Japan (HJ's side only invited media to report her departure TO Japan), and even waited there for several hours so he could take pictures of JS returning, so that they can post an article with JS and HJ's photos side-by-side when they didn't say a word about their schedule together back then. THEN, Dispatch went and posted this article titled "Embracing, Holding hands, Kissing, the 'Lovers' Chemi' between Lee Jong-suk and Han Hyo-joo" on their Dazed pictorial, saying how their chemistry is so natural and how they "really look like a real life couple". So um... I hope the fact that both YG and BH are such powerful players in the industry will make Dispatch behave better and NOT release anything prematurely. Haha but come to think of it, YG themselves have released some of the most "damning" BTS pictures of Jong-suk gazing, gazing, and gazing SOME MORE at Hyo-joo lovingly, I don't think Dispatch will be able to get close enough to JongJoo to take that kind of pictures

@minhoshin Haha these days I am finding my "anti-social" way of life online very beneficial, though there is ONE particular site that I visit for general K-drama info that sometimes talks about JongJoo in a not very positive light, I pretty much never read any other negative comments about them because I don't visit any forum or sites that don't like them! Like the lyrics of Where Are U (W OST part one), I only look at things I am interested in (sings)~ I have so many hobbies, things to do, that 24 hours a day is seriously too short to spare even a minute on haters- unless they are doing real harm to stars that I like, THEN I will switch on my fighter jet mode hahaha!

See see see see see????!!! This is exactly why people should STOP photoshopping JongJoo being intimate with each other, BECAUSE REALITY IS SO MUCH BETTER!!! Only sad, sinking, desperate ships need photoshopped images of the two stars being intimate/close with each other in one frame, alrighty? It was so hilarious when Dazed images came out, a lot of fans in certain forums reacted with, "Ohhhhh this is photoshopped right?! The author did such a good job!" *SMFH"
And YES, I love both the snippet of JongJoo's interview answers for Dazed and Jong-suk's interview for Ceci. I mean of course JongJoo have heavenly visuals together and their chemistry is so explosive it ought to be considered weapon of mass destruction, but what is even more important is that Hyo-joo and Jong-suk make each other happier, more positive, and enjoy their career and life better. JS had said previously in the QQ/Tencent interview that his view on life had changed after W, and a lot of us thought that was a funny statement then but now I see he really does mean it. And while JS has already said a lot about the influence his experience throughout W (which HHJ is a big part of) and specifically Hyo-joo's advises having significant influence on him, we have yet to have the opportunity to hear much about HJ's thoughts BUT, as a Hyo-joo fan I am so happy to read JS wanting to see HJ expressing more of her bright & positive side in future projects. NOT because I too necessarily want to see the same, I do love HJ's cool, and sometimes melancholic image in movies, but because it shows how much he cares about her when he says that. He wants a beautiful side of her that is less known to the public in recent years to be seen, and loved by the audience.
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. Ohhhhh and! A kind fan at Baidu translated like about a hundred comments in the Naver article about the Dazed pictorial, and wow I believe this is the most overwhelmingly positive response the two as a onscreen couple (and as a possible real life couple- I mean from the general fans perspective, for us they ARE already a couple right haha!) have received. Like 95% of the comments express how beautiful and well-matched JongJoo look together, how they either are already dating or SHOULD date if they aren't already, and how they are the couple with the best chemistry EVER. See see see see??? Told you when I was whining about wanting JongJoo couple photoshoot that when done well, it increases general public's acceptance level/liking for the couple????
Lastly, man these two sure do make the "couple/matched clothes & accessories" look work, all popular brands should consider having JongJoo do commercials or represent their brands together! Seriously I am saying this from a business perspective, I am confident they will help sell a lot of the products they showcase as a couple

I know I am 48 hours late (lol in internet time it's like 48 light years) but I spent the past three days gambling (um, I mean participating in poker tournament, does it sound a little better? No?) and came back to... to... THIS gift from heaven
Honestly, I had both high hope and low expectation (just to play safe, keke), and JongJoo went WAYYYYYYY beyond my wildest dream (okay, maybe second wildest dream, I did joke that they should make out in the photos but come on, this is after all a fashion magazine and not... you know). In every frame released so far Jong-suk's body language is screaming that he wants her and he wants her bad. And oh mine, they look so MARRIED
especially in the frame where they are holding hands.
Hahahahaha and it cracked me up that poor Ceci had to release their photos at the same time, I mean of course those are really eye candy too but COME ON, if JongJoo are sizzling hot in Dazed then he and that cute lady in Ceci are... okay I'll just say thank you Ceci for offering the comparison shot, next time, ask LJS whether he's just done photoshoot with HHJ and maybe delay yours for a month, OR GET JONGJOO TO DO A SET FOR YOU AS WELL LOL!
Can't wait to get my copies (need multiple copies!!!) and I hope other magazines take notice and invite JongJoo to do couple photos too!!!!!! MOAR MOAR MOAR

LOL my eyes became heart-shaped and I couldn't stop smiling the whole time I was watching Hyo-joo's BIFF clips. If Jong-suk had such a strong reaction to her in the Cinderella dress in W which frankly, was just meh per HHJ standard, I can't imagine how he would have reacted to both her sexy black dress and her lovely light purple dress at the BIFF. Seriously I have not seen anyone who can be so many things at the same time, she's elegant, sexy, classy, sweet, and simply out-of-the-worldly gorgeous on red carpet, then reverted back to Hyo-joo oppa as she posed with her staff/family, while still in that pretty dress
!!!!!!
Oh and something must have happened in these past two days with so much low-key IG interactions between the Han camp and the Lee camp, and how happy was I to see Dad being part of JS's party from the other night! These are happening AFTER W has ended, making it more meaningful than if they took place while W was still in the midst of filming

!!! Thanks to W, a lot of previously silent Han Hyo-joo fans, including yours truly have delurked, I even found out that a friend of mine adores her too and we get to drool over her (um...) together. She gained new fans all over the world too, so appearing on TV after so many years has done her good A big thank you to @ohnoitscindy for having started this thread so many years ago so we have a great place to talk about all things Hyo-joo! Hahaha I actually read through all 800+ pages when I first found this thread, which goes to show how much quality content the thread has! Looking forward to the continued success of HHJ and her fandom

Regarding Hyo-joo's airport arrival pictures, what I know from her track record is that over the years, she has VERY seldom had picture taken of her arriving in Korea. This is because while from time to time her agency will invite the media to take her departure pictures (and sometimes she would give an interview) where she shows off her "airport fashion" (usually wearing brands she was representing at the time), her agency has never, to my knowledge invited media to take her arrival pictures. (Dispatch went and took her arrival pictures when she returned from Japan last week, UNINVITED, that's why Hyo-joo's staff was surprised). Inviting media to take pictures of you departing from the Gimpo airport is actually a very common practice among Korean actors/actresses, and the reason why it is mostly when the stars depart from Gimpo is because well, they look fresh/in better condition before the trip than the other way round.
And unlike male Hallyu actors and idols, actresses typically have fewer fans following them around, or to put it bluntly- stalking them and checking out their flight information, so it isn't anything uncommon that you will see about 10 times more fan-taken pictures of popular male stars than that of female stars.

Hehe, Hyo-joo really is highly appreciated by the film industry. The director of Love 911/Bandage said HJ's role in it was tailor made for her, while the director of Inside Beauty said the left side of her face is Korea's national treasure (don't ask me why he rated the left side higher than the right haha). HJ was allowed a lot of liberty to interpret her character in Cold Eyes, which was originally your typical bright, spirited newbie cop. HJ said in an interview that as she was at the time going through a rebellious phase (late bloomer???), she really disliked the bright persona of the character so what we ended up seeing in the movie was HJ's revised version. I am pretty amazed that the production side was so open to her inputs and am grateful for that, because I like her character in Cold Eyes a lot and by the sound of it, I wouldn't have liked the original version myself.
Though W has made me greedy and want to see HJ at a high frequency- would be ideal if she does one drama (hopefully cable, for more interesting + edgy material and stylish production, well W actually did well in these two areas, it just didn't do as well in character building) and one or two movies per year. But of course this is just my wishful thinking keke.

Congraaaaaaaaaaaaaatulations uri Hyo-joo ahhh hahahaha!!!! I still remember my first comment here was a super long-winded defense of both the character OYJ and HHJ's portrayal of the character, and I wrote it I think around EP. 8 or 9? When a lot of people were frustrated with the series and the little development OYJ has gotten by then. But as if to mock my draggy post, EP 10 happened and many, including the ever-so-hard-to-please K netizens were impressed and praised her performance in the episode, which I think remains the best episode for OYJ in the series.
I think extra consideration has to be given to HHJ for just how frigging difficult it was to portray a character with such a strange setup, and to be used mostly to advance the plot while the two main male characters, namely KC and OSM, get to have their arcs and characters developed in a much more typical linear fashion as the series progressed. So for HHJ to not only have made OYJ convincing as a normal person going through all those impossible situations (side note: hate the "exaggerated over-acting" comments, stupid, Soo-bong was being 10 times more dramatic yet I think normal people like you and I could very well have reacted like Soo-bong did in those situations), but to have made OYJ lovable.
Anyway, haters gonna hate, they were bashing her before she got this award and if they want to say the award was rigged, then they'd be challenging the validity of ALL the other winners too. Glad that while HHJ has always been underappreciated by netizens (I won't even say the general public, who tend to not bother comment much online so their voices I think are heard better through concrete numbers like ratings, box office results and sales of brands that the actor/actress represents), her good work has at least been recognized more often than not by the critics, judges, other actors, some directors and writers!

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WONDERFUL MS. HAN HYO-JOO!!!!!!
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion (but NO ONE is entitled to attack any actor or actress in nasty languages just because your own favorite actor/actress did not win the award), I won't bother trying to convince others to appreciate HHJ's acting but to me, she 100% deserves this award, and this is coming from a person who's watched all four nominated dramas, though two of them I did not finish. Also, having gone through the list of winners of all other categories, I find all of them (at least the ones that I know about) very deserving, so it's not like there's something particularly strange about how the judges evaluate performances for these awards either.
I have been a Han Hyo-joo fan YEARS before W so NO, this has nothing to do with a shipper fan being biased. But enough negativity! Once again with feelings (lol), congratulations Han Hyo-joo, you managed to make a character that is super difficult to portray not only convincing, but lovable! I am a proud fan and will continue to support you till your retirement

Heyyyyyy I just remembered something! Knowing the style of Dazed and seeing the identical playful "glare" JongJoo were sporting in PMH's IG photo, this will be the first time Jong-suk has seen a more 'sensual' Hyo-joo in person, as during W HHJ was mostly lovely as Yeon-joo or unpretentious and easy-going as "Hyo-joo oppa", or admirable and professional as "actor Han Hyo-joo". I think he was in for a pleasant surprise to see yet another (rather seductive) side of her
And we all know how smexy LJS is when he turns on his model mode!!! So Hyo-joo was definitely in for a treat as well.

Actually me too. AJH and LJS have known each other since their modeling days, and both are tall, pale, and has that cool metropolitan look about them. KHS and HHJ have known and befriended each other since they have just debuted (they were in a show together), and they share a similar gentle and calm vibe. And of course KHS and HHJ are both noona to AJH and LJS, haha. A lot of the Angoo shippers started to notice something between them since Blood's press conference too. Oh and, AJH constantly addressed KHS as noona and even seonbae in public, that's why at the earlier stage of W, some fans refuted people who were saying because LJS called HHJ noona he must not be feeling anything romantic about her. Of course LJS pretty much dropped the noona thing later on.

I need to get up early tomorrow and now I can't sleep!!! The way he put his arm around her and then kissed her!!! She is so beautiful! So is he! They look both angelic and royal- definitely royal, now I totally agree with PMH's prince & princess tag in his IG post that first leaked the Dazed pictorial to us!!!
LOL wait but the BTS video clip is actually prettier than the actual photos! No no no I am not complaining I am over the moon right now
