@YangD I did notice that sha jie jie woke up in the end.. But did you also notice that when QG was dying her last view/ the last thing she saw was of the birds flying away...
I think that may allude to her dream in the earlier episode that she told sifu about on the boat after the banquet
usually by the time I get to watch the C-drama the full/unedited version is already out but I couldn't resist watching this one live...now princess la ling king start tomorrow, nirvana of fire starts in a week, song in the clouds is starting ** but I'm not sure there is a sub team for that one but there is a sub team for the other 2**

Guys, may I say, my fear is become reality, I think I post this before, I suspect all those pics, GIFs is being leaked by production team, to give us a glimpse of what should we see, before the whole butchered thing that just shove to our face like that. And so I think they gonna show us the whole uncut version somehow, we just have to wait patiently. I feel sad with all those butchered version that we saw today, but strangely I also feel relieve some how, I'm free for this obsession finally, the obsession for the HunanTV version that in the end just give us a very bad version, now I'm gonna change my obsession to wait for the real uncut version.
I think this explanation is the producers' intention. They could make more money when the uncut version on DVD is out and other broadcasting companies are even wanting to buy the rights to air the series. Is this a marketing strategy for fans to get reeled in hook, line and sinker? TT_TT
I think the filmmakers knew what they filmed was going to be edited, so I believe in the finished product~ without the cuts.
The problem is that if it doesn't get aired on Chinese TV it can not be sold or aired elsewhere in any form. They already had the fandom from the novel, and the promotion from cannes. If dramafever buys the license which is based in new York ** that version will not be edited... cause the U.S has laws against that** or any other international country ...I'm sure will have a good chance of seeing the drama in it's entirety*** I'm secretly hoping for blue ray dvd**-

Are you very sure Hunan did the editing solely? Or Hunan gave the terms and so the filmmakers edited the series the best they can to fit in everything and in the end became gibberish?
Yes hunan did the editing .. The filmmakers/production give them the final product which was finished last year - it goes thorough sarft and then hunan .. they do their own cutting and re-editing for the broadcast. In one episode (which was the banquet) they even added stuff they cut out into the next episode to make it longer. So they are really bad at it...
EDIT: it was most likely sarft that cut moyan's sacrifice because of the no reincarnation

Hunan did the editing for broadcast not the filmmakers.
The ending was good excluding all the cut's ~ If they didn't cut anything it would of been much better... It's good for me because the OTP lived...I couldn't be happier with that .... but even the director expected all of this and would not watch the last 10 episodes~Jolin Chan predicted that the kiss would be cut... The uncut version on viki will not show anything that has not been shown on TV during the broadcast. the channel manager has stated that in his viki posts.
I want to watch the Taiwanese version and the full dvd when it comes out - hopefully their will be a directors cut..
Am I sad about the last 2 episodes yes ...but I'm not 100% angry because I expected it while holding out a little hope. I can say that I'm disappointed. But I have to thank the hard core fans who were able to leak the script, photo and video images online. It just means I have to wait a little longer to see the finished product.

*faint* The weird editing is here ARGHHH!!! I think the whole kiss was supposed to be there before BZH was crying but it's GONE TT_TT
I agree It looks like the kiss was suppose to happen right before he started crying and it ended 5 min early- so maybe 25-30 min of new footage - if that much - and they made the kiss cutting so obvious because of the flashback with moyans son

OMG I WANTED TO DIE WHEN BZH WAS TRYING TO STOP HER FROM loosing her mind by calming her down. I loved the way he held onto her and caressed her no matter how hard she fought until she calmed down..
What the heck ... How the **** did NMT get out of jail ?!?!?! it made absolutely no sense to edit that scene
Brilliant ~ HQG didn't kill NMT - Greed got her killed - she got what she wanted and died for it -

There starting pretty far back on the first episode... I'm with the director on this one.. they must of did some editing and it started about 10 after....I'm guessing 30 min of new footage
I don't think there is a problem with the streams just a lot of traffic - it took me 5 tries to get on

I thought HQG was the only person who was able to handle/possess the Desolate Power bc she's the last living god.
Yes that is true but the problem is she will no longer be the HQG from before ~ she will loose her sense of self. Her body can harness the power but her mind can't handle it. Kind of like possession by another entity only it's not by another person ~ the desolate energy is messing with her mind, remaking her into the demon goddess *** I guess you can say she's still transitioning, In a earlier episode BZH said that their is a certain amount of time (can't remember how much its like days) after the power is released that the demon god is reborn***
, since QG is in despair it's really hard for her to hold on to reason, but she is aware of what's happening to her and since she desires to protect the world and the person she loves in it. She will most likely find a way to take her life before that happens while she is still herself... sadly her teacher has taught her well. She doesn't want to die but their is no other way now that the seal is broken their just isn't enough time and she doesn't want BZH to be hurt again because of her~ even if his goal is to save her life. -

Ladies, did you all see the moment like QG losing the grip of Desolate Energy, like the Desolate Energy taking control of her subconcious, and I think after she wake up, she ask ZR about it (I can't hear clearly what ZR reply), but QG look afraid after hearing ZR's reply. So I think the drama trying to explain why QG will create the illusion so that BZH will kill her, because she afraid at certain point she can not control the Desolate Energy hence the Desolate Energy will use her to kill without she able to prevent that to happen.
Because when she pour her heart on SQM's ice coffin she also said she is tired. She looks tired of living and just want to end her life. Because the last 'pierce' from QS also taking a toll to her too, QG look devastated when QS told her why don't she just died from earlier on and that QS always hate her.
@funnlimmsia NMT try to take Desolate Energy from QG because QG let her, QG just open her hand and let NMT do that, but the power blast NMT
I agree with all that you have said!! I even think that some of her actions with BZH right now is not 100% herself - she is in deep emotional despair, the people who loved her have died, and the one's still living betrayed her and the one she loves will not even admit his feelings or comfort her so she must feel all alone with no one to turn to
. But she is not an idiot nor oblivious to what's happening, she must realize that those are flashbacks of her past self .. it's like the desolate energy force is trying to take control of her mind, she must be loosing time and memories, and her body can't handle that much power for long. No doubt she'll try to die to keep from hurting anyone else before she looses herself completely . But to protect BZH she's not going to let him know and try hide what is really happening to her, and as long as she calls him BZH that's her way of distancing and detaching herself from him and letting him know that their relationship is truly severed, but one has to wonder if that is Truly what she desires and wants. This may also be her way of spending what time she has left with the one person she loves under false pretense. It's as if her heart wants to say, " Sifu, Sifu save me! I can't stop the energy force from taking over me and my mind I'll completely become the demon goddess soon and I don't know how to stop it"
But her mind is saying ," I can't loose anyone else, I can't let sifu know what's happening to me, he may give his life to try to save me again and I can't live if he dies...I don't want to be alone, but I want to know his feelings... Even if he hates me ~ I would rather him kill me and die alone~ then die with him, I can't hurt him again"
Cause sadly BZH knew that her transformation would not be complete as long as she did not use that power but the more she uses that power the more she looses herself..

@YangD - first thank you very much for the amazing leaked photos of the passionate kiss!
I can't believe it! I am very hopeful that it won't get censored and it's very exciting to to finally see a 'real' kiss, as in a conscious one. Despite everyone's disappointment with some of the cut scenes, I'm still very pleased with this week's episode. Another favourite is when BZH catches QG back at Chang Lui. Even though he's saying she needs to confess her wrongdoings etc,. JUST LOOK AT HIS EYES! They looked longingly at QG, so his eyes is saying - I've missed you, how are you, are you well? See how his eyes roams over her face, as though he imprinting her face in his mind and heart. Then he starts to tear up...oh what a wonderful actor! I really love that scene.
Btw: I almost didn't recognise BZH in your avatar, he's smiling so he looks different
From what I can see, we can really look forward to the rest of the episodes purely focused on our favourite Fated Couple! I would like to compliment the person who've coined that word (I'm sorry I don't know who it was), it's very appropriate and spot on! So I hope you won't mind that I use it.

No wonder they didn't stop kissing when the director said cut ~ after all the pain and turmoil it feels like they have been waiting for this kiss for a millennium .
An international CD is a good sign of an international video release.. I just hope it's not dubbed in English ..

because a lot of people are upset, but it's understandable. It's like someone gave you a lotus bun/sweet bean bun and before you could take a bite they ate it I don't know how many dramas i've watched and said, " give me back my 30 hrs you stupid drama
!", because i was disappointed at the ending but that happens more with k-drama because they film on the go..live or close to the air dateChinese dramas are already pre-filmed very much like american dramas, so if their is a bad ending they have no excuse blame the writer,except in cases like this were no doubt the story and the ending is good because the author was the scriptwriter and not just a consultant. But the broadcasting station is screwing up the footage .. their is no excuse for stupidity on their part
But notice how no one close to the production is criticizing hunan....ahhh humm someone has a ace in their back pocket ... their up to something

I don't blame the production because the drama is complete and I can't say that the ending is rushed because I haven't seen the original. What makes it appear that way is the editing and cut's by hunan and the censorship by Saraft. As far as the actors are concerned all of them have been in the industry long enough to expect this.. Remember their goal was just to get it aired in any form, so that it can be sold and broadcast elsewhere in it's full form. These scenes were cut from the Chinese broadcast and by the Hunan channel it doesn't mean that they will be cut on other broadcast stations or even from the dvd. That'a why were able to see full versions of Chinese dramas elsewhere and not all Chinese dramas are the same. Example: The virtuous queen of Han... Loved that drama,
acting and costumes were amazing and it even catapulted some of the actors and actress into a different stratosphere *career wise*, but it was also edited and cut (the broadcast version), but on dramafever *whom acquired the license* they showed the full version uncut and unedited and it was awesome and had some steamy scenes ~ the same with Lan Ling Wang.. the scenes in that one would never pass saraft especially the wedding night. That's because many countries don't have the restrictions that China does but not all countries edit Chinese dramas. I don't usually watch most dramas live except for ones that I'm addicted to But I couldn't pass up watching this one.. I expected this to happen the moment I saw the cannes trailer and held out some hope, but I also knew that if they showed it at Cannes then it's going to have a full release. It also depends which Chinese station your watching it on because they do their own self censorship.. Hunan is just really bad at it and makes it obvious.. So please don't get upset with those who directed or produced the drama it's not their fault ..

With regards to Moyan I don't think that he would give up his life for anyone except BZH and hopefully it's out of guilt because that man has killed and hurt so many people unjustly - he's beyond redemption.
And i don't know what it is but I can't keep my hands of the replay button -- The scene where QG collapses and BZH catches her and the look of anger in his eyes

I love the cinematography for this drama it's like watching it on the big screen ~It's so beautiful
I'm even more surprised that they manged to pull this off with a drama from the warring states period. Most Chinese warring states dramas don't match this type of quality and the acting is sooo good... wonderfulmomo_stv you are right about the background ost ... I gotta have this one ... I love instrumental ost's-

But I must say that episode 53 was better then the last 6 episodes .. because it's the most screen time BZH and QG have had together on the same sceen in a long time... Not to mention watching him hold her and fly away is always breath takingmust comment more later after episode rewatches

I got so hooked on this drama to that I was falling behind at work and neglecting school. Since I have a government job I was always in fear of getting caught on social media because they monitor it. The first 2 dramas I watched live were the k -drama's "The kings daughter", and " Fated to love you" and then I watched the C-drama " The Four" which came on before TJOF so it was kind of by accident that I started watching TJOF ... Then I was hooked .. But I learned real quick about Chinese broadcast editing when I watched " The four", because their were 3 versions. But the editing wasn't that bad and they left in a really steamy kiss in episode 21 uncut. but I also noticed that not all Chinese broadcast stations edit the same. Hunan is just the worse when it comes to broadcasting because of the extra footage, and senseless cutting. But you notice a difference when you see the full version..
You have to watch the virtuous queen of han if you haven't done so .. Drama fever has the full version un-edited and it's really good .. Have you seen it yet ?
you hit the nail on the head that is the scene...I always thought his voice sounds a little close to hue ge just from watching his interviews. But I must admit if their is a TJOF movie I could only watch it if Wallace and Li ying reprise their roles, because they did such an amazing job with this drama I don't think anyone else could fill their shoes for the characters
