hopefully, not too long they just subbed and put up the trailer and casting info today subs shouldn't be too far behind..any day now I would think.. Once they start releasing the episodes, they're pretty good about staying on schedule

Does anyone know if Zheng Shuang voice is dubbed over in this drama? yang yang's voice sounds like his own

Not to take away from this drama because I LOVED IT !! it kept me smiling the entire time and i adored the ending, but "It started with a kiss" is similar and also based on a novel. The lead male characters both have the same background.(high IQ good looks etc.), except in this one the girl is average and persistent and in love O2O she's intelligent and beautiful. I was surprised to see the love confession rejection scene in this drama because it is the same in "It started with a kiss" the difference is the lead actress is the one being rejected. There are many versions of "It started with a kiss" but I prefer the one with Joe chan/ cheng and Ariel Lin

I think I read somewhere that originally, the novels emphasised the bromance more than the romance...but they toned that down for the drama and expanded the NH x LS arc.
For anyone that's read the novels...it's definitely more bromance but in the "OMG WHY IS HE DEAD!?!??!?!" and "Mom I miss him" kind of way than the *coughcough* way
@carmolita In the novel, there isn't that exchange between Emperor and Lin Shu, it just goes straight to him heading off to battle, so there's no need for him to simply disappear (other than wanting to save them the pain of seeing him die from illness). The novel indicates that he died in battle, there's one part in particular, "He (refers to Prince Jing) couldn't hold back his tears as he wrote the last name of those who died in battle."
The synopsis on nearly every site also says that he dies in the way that Lin Shu would i.e. in battle.
Does the novel say anything about what happened to MCS's bodyguard fei le ? and the rest of his organization? What I found so amazing is that It seems as in the beginning MCS didn't really care about living and accepted that he was going to die but was set on getting his revenge. But then the more he got to know everyone from his past again, the more he desired his old life back and wanted to live even more. The director did a really good job with this drama and for a drama that was suppose to have a sad ending ... It didn't seem all that sad because you knew the outcome from the very beginning, you just didn't know when or if it would happen. I liked the way it ended because it was more of a heart felt moment filled with redemption. Did the author ever write a sequel? and if so do you think their was an open possibility of MCS survival?
Is it just me because Hu Ge's role in this drama seemed so reminiscent of his character in the ballad of the desert.

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted but I have been soo addicted to Nirvana in fire.. I don't know how many times I've re-watched my favorite episodes especially waiting for the next sub to come. I was holding off on watching the ending because i wanted it to last forever until the subs were completed but couldn't hold out and finally watched it last night. But I have to know in comparison to the novel because I haven't read the book.is MCS really dead or is it an uncertainty or is he pretending to be dead since he more less told the emperor that he would disappear from jingyan's life. I wondered because it seems like something that he would set up and did the emperor die of abdicate the throne to jingyan ?

@tlt if it is 8:30 am China/Beijing time then it would air at 8:30 pm eastern standard time in the United States the day before. Its exactly 12 hrs difference because of the international date line or the greenwich meridian (GMT) depending on which way you go
. If you live in the central, mountain, or pacific you just subtract an hour see time zone map below I hope this helps-

I have to thank the volunteers at viki 3 more people signed on to the project so the subs are coming quicker like an episode and a half a day
So far I am loving this drama, so much addiction.. I especially love this princess tournament .. but the palace backroom deals and backstabbing are so intriguing.. so much mystery ... I can't wait to find out hu ge's secrets!! He is soooo good In this role..so calm, complex and mysterious! ? I assumed that maybe the slave boy was prince jiang's (the blacksheep of the royal family) son does he really have no relation to him ?? can't wait for the next episodes ..and fei le is an amazing body guard .. Does anyone know if he is super intelligent in the story? because he doesn't talk much-

aUGHHH I was hoping it would air on the east coast of the US but no such luck.... and I checked all the cable listings - I guess I need to move to the west coast now ... I saw the videos on VIKI , however, it's going to be a long time to see the subs because they need English subbers but they have subs for other languages
So I'm dying to know the complete story - love the girl fight with her brothers ...although not sure if there her real brothers or if she's just calling them that I'll keep watching and will watch again when subs become available ...The sets are amazing and the costumes.. love the soundtrack ..gotta have it @IMOmusings you are soo right that body guard can fight!!-

Great News!
People can actually watch this show on TV. Nirvana in Fire will be aired on USA, from September 21, Monday to Friday, San Francisco, KTSF26, 21:00 - 22:00p.m. I guess people who can understand Chinese will be happy to hear this news. Does anyone know that if American TV Channel have the habit of cutting dramas? If not, it's a blessing. Though NIF will air the fastest in China. Because we get 2 episodes each night.
No American tv don't cut dramas~ they just give warnings or air in a different time slot if on broadcast tv - for cable tv anything goes and doesn't matter what's shown on there, only broadcast tv has self-regulation. Nirvana in fire may have subtitle's available most Chinese channels will have subs for dramas if not simulcast/ aired at the same time as the drama's native country. But this is good news

I've always wondered...if BZH is alive today (since he's immortal and all) would he still be wearing that white robe and have long hair or change into suit and tie?
Me too ..since it all of a sudden stopped when they flew off on the sword and considering all of the cuts' ~ I often wondered if that was the true ending or if they edited it and just stopped it there. Because if you notice on page one of this thread Wallace did a promo video of him being in modern times wearing a blue suit going home to his apartment and then he took out the sword of abstain thoughts.

Has Nirvana in fire developed a deep international fan base? The fact that its set to be broadcast in Korea gives me such high hopes for this drama! And do you think that Liu Tao will be able to pull of the fight scenes as Princess Nihuang ?

@carmolita Ah yes, I saw that on the other thread...as much as I dearly wish this is true...how much more control does the network editing have over SARFT?
Here's to hoping the scriptwriters of NiF are better at telling the story without including all the things that SARFT would ban....
It would be a dream if SARFT didn't make any cuts to that drama. But I took it more to mean that the broadcast channel will not make any cuts or do any editing. Because Hunan did cuts and editing after Sarft did it's cuts which left TJOF with almost no scenes
To me these two dramas are like mirrors both based off novels, both had the authors write the script, both major productions but one is going to learn from the other's mistakes. It's hard to trust hunan after what happened so it seems like other broadcast stations are going to do what they can to distance themselves and not loose their viewers. They're going to capitalize off of hunan's mistakes and maybe self-reflect on themselves and I can't blame them.-

so it appears that Hunan is getting such severe backlash that It's affecting the decisions of the other broadcast stations.
To me this is a major development in the scope of Chinese dramas-

@bubblyb00_stv I don't think that the scenes would of been cut for public TV in the U.S. Their are lots of broadcast shows that air here/in the U.S with way more gore and skin than TJOF - for example the CW is a broadcast channel and the Vampire diaries pushes it to the extreme and it gets aired so do detective shows like law and order.. But they are also aired in the In the prime time so it really doesn't matter and they give a warning if violent or mature content is going to be shown but broadcast stations do not edit the content. ~ That's the argument that I think Ciwun?? or someone from the production staff was trying to make - was that the show was aired during primetime so their shouldn't of been that many cuts

@carmolita The little bodyguard will actually be appearing twice (he's in The Classic of Mountains and Seas as well). As for the fighting, I think I saw him training with Mei Changshu's guards...or at least he was in the training grounds and taking on two opponents with spears....mind you he was bare handed xD
I will love to see how this actor portrays him. According to the novel, his personality is very unique. If he can get it perfect, combined with Hu Ge's spectacular acting...this drama will go down a treat
I can't believe that bodyguard is 15yrs old in real life - unbelievable !!! - he's going to be a knockout when he turns 20-

Ci Wen Media Group Chairman says that they'll release a 50 episodes uncut version of 'The Journey of Flower' and mention that the cut-version of this drama has nothing to do with the Broadcasting authority since it is not aired during prime time. It is believed that Hunan TV cut em to prolong the airtime period.
P.S Does this mean that Hunan cut those kiss scenes! and maaaanny more scenes?!!! DAMN! BLACKLISTED
Most likely and it may mean that the drama is really just 50 episodes in it's full form and hunan just cut extra and tried to make it longer with old footage to get the ratings. Notice a lot of episodes were shortened and honestly with as much as they cut `- without adding old footage, the last episode could of been shown in an hour ~ there was no need for 2 hours - they were just being greedy.

Drama fever just posted they will start airing the episodes February 6th! which is monday. I haven't had time to watch it live, will watch a couple of raws this weekend and then subs on monday
