I guess I should be satisfied with a 3min reunion with a sea of people in between them, only eye conversations and a confirmed hint of romance, coming from this writer? Lol! No open ended endings and cliffhangers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank god!but Gosh! She should have given us at least 10mins!! Such a near miss!
Glad for a happy ending for a suspense plot like this! I guessed a few theories right, whilst some remain a mystery to me. They could have devoted the time on the latter to the reunion lol!!!! Dang!
Theories guessed right:
- Sol is the killer. Officer Kim and commander are not the killers.
- Ending will be into current year, thou they added a 1jan22 sunrise
- YG ended up being able to walk
- Twigs and leaves back in action
Forever a mystery:
- Too much time spent on lotto girl for no reason
- Yang sun ended up dying by accident
- SG granny died for no reason
- DW died for no reason
Is it a hint for romance between GY and HJ's sister???!!!! Not sure how HJ feels about that as big brother! Lol! I am glad the writer did not forget about Seung-Ah.... and the guest casting was a surprise!
Overall, i like the plot twists and the time skips! Kept me on my toes each episode (and I did not fast forward a single second, which is a feat!). Good change in pace from the typical kdrama with mistresses and complicated family drama.
Nice discussing with all of you bunch of positive and encouraging peeps! Hope to see ya all again in another thread!!

@illay Suzy and Seunggi reunited in a second drama, so there is hope! Even a tiny bit! Lol!! I can't wait to see Kingdom3, I havent watch Ashin, is she really algonna be a villain? Hoping for some plot twist again!!

My thoughts after ep14 (yes, I decided to watch it after all, and join all of you comrades in this suspense and tough wait for 7 days to the finish line! Lol!!!!)
- Lotto girl. I dont think she is involved in the Black valley village but I'm hoping there is a purpose for the amount of screentime devoted to her looking for a measly piece of paper. Otherwise, I feel cheated! I am actually amazed she found that paper in the mountain!
- Officer Corporal Kim WS. I'm hoping it is yet another twist and that he knows what's going on he is not the killer, and he has been trying to stop the murders.
- Kim Sol. His expression is suspicious, and I dont know what to make out of it. Either KWS or Sol is the killer but I dont think they are working together.
- I think the children of those who died (those who want to stay) are taking revenge on those who agreed to move. Either those who move together kill those who stay, or the cable car man arranged the killings (then disguised as suicide). And along the way, misunderstandings etc. SW is one of those taking revenge. My guess! I may be wrong and associated the child to wrong parent
- I still have hopes that one of those ranger colleagues are in cahoots with the killer (the one that found Dawon - i still dont have nor remember his name)
- YG and HJ are hunted because they are getting closer to the truth. YG got tricked by stick in ground and fell off the cliff. HJ foresaw her incident (the snowy bloody area)
- HJ flatlined at end ep14 but woke up later when his spirit got pushed back to his body. My sincere hopes for a healing drama!
- The sudden absence of those twigs and leaves signal... Too complicated??
- Is Dawon really dead? Or is a ploy to deaw killer out as Dawon must have seen the killer.- Is the cheif really going to just stay in jail and no hands on involvement? A wase of his character.

I feel that the logic behind the bus accident is too weak & forced by the writer. When the flood accident happened, the suspect should logically think that the initial people who rode the bus might change. Moreover, The bus passed the culprit, so He surely saw inside there were only couple of grannies. He still had enough time to stop the Bus.
When HJ saw the police graduation photo, I felt weird about why the writer needed to include such a trivial story. I was suspicious at first but The police asked the daily log on the flood accident day. Why should He tell HJ about the possibility bus accident happened because of sabotage?
Since YiGang becomes the next target, She surely will have a chance to see Hyun Joo. Although HJ can only touch natural things on the mountain, I can imagine He uses stones or any tree branches to hit the culprit. That will be awesome.
Seems that tomorrow We will see the scene where YG talks to HJ through the walkie talkie.
anyway, I feel bad to Hyun Joo that Yi Gang blamed him for the death of her GrandMa. He even voluntary moved to Bildam shelter so YiGang didn't need to see him at work. Their relationship became sour
Nah..now I am curious what kind of answer Yi Gang wants to say to Hyun Joo since they were not in a good relationship before the incident.
About Yang Sun...OMG....All of us thought it was because of the culprit but it turned out because of that stupid lottery girl. She should have died instead. She really pissed me off
Can you imagine if those rangers know that She was there because of the lottery ticket..
In my opinion, the injured hiker character is inserted by the writer just to relay the message to Yi Gang that her parent didn't do suicide like what She was afraid about.
I think she wants to say sorry to him for blaming him. This was what she didnt get to say before the snow accident i guess..
as much as we hope it is something romantic or a confession, i dont think we will see it from this writer haha

It doesnt make sense for YG to blame her granny going on bus on HJ. All he did was help her carry her stuff. Hope is just grief shouting and she doesnt blame him in actual fact! Cos it really doesnt make any sense!
and I wish HJ didnt blame himself either! How is he expected to have stop the incident when there are no clues at all to when and where it will happen. Just a black glove and black jacket?
so closw to the end but seems like still a long story to go... i hope it wont be a cliff hanger ending lol

Well... We all know that the local netizens....."taste" is different from international viewers. The shows I enjoy, doesn't seem to fare well in local ratings. Lol
Anyway, a waste that he will not be attending AAA. But I think is a good choice not to have spotlight on him. Still too raw and fast after the incident.... Hope he energy up and performs his best for the movie, prove everyone who condemn him wrong!

and he should know better than anyone else, having worked on 3 of her dramas (Kingdom S1 & 2, Jirisan) over the past 5 years.
While the multiple timelines may not necessarily be well-received, I personally enjoy it as it maintains the intrigue, keeping me guessing and second-guessing through the gradual reveals. Keeping a linear timeline would have detracted from the suspense and the cerebral journey, which to me, would have been a lot more boring. Thus far, she has still kept us in the dark, and even by Ep11, we don't quite know yet how everything falls into place, though we are getting closer and closer. Kim Sol's reveal at the end of Ep10 might feel like a red herring with 6 episodes left. Then again, I think back on her other dramas where the viewers knew, even as early as Ep1 who the main antagonist is and the drama itself is how the villain is taken down. In this respect, Jirisan is markedly different from her previous works since the real antagonist and the motivations are still vague, but that is half the fun.
At the end of the day, just as she did with Signal previously, I suspect KEH wrote Jirisan with one question "Can Kang Hyunjo be free?" and that is the ultimate purpose of the journey she has brought us on - to save him by catching the killer who triggers his visions, without knowledge of whose motivations it would not be possible. And so the journey begins.
I agree with what you said! I rather like the idea of switching back and forth of timelines. It makes me concentrate so that I dont miss or fast forward any part of the story. It also adds to the suspense!
If one wants a simple, easy to understand series, they should go for healing drama type.
im enjoying Jirisan since ep1! Thou im peeved that iqiyi changed it to VIP for latest episodes

Il-hae- i think he may be working at the HQ cos he can no longer climb the mountains (his knee problem?)
that colleague who found Dawon (sorry, I cannot remember his name up till now lol) - he is always appearing in the scenes. Maybe his character has a role in this and not just a simple "colleague" bystander?

You need 8 weeks of patience to get thru such drama series. All the clues are everywhere, and eventually it all got pieced together. I wish people will be more patient and enjoy the series each week! Regardless of the ratings, i'm still enjoying it

I dont think is the chief (it's way too obvious unless that is supposed to throw us all off!), but he knows or suspects something.
If only everyone follows the rules! The rangers wouldnt have been so busy catching illegal hikers! Not sure how true these portrayals are, if true, the rangers have a tough and dangerous job! How do they even nagivate the forest ...
i dont know who to suspect, but I guess it may have to do with the cable car project? The one who is dead (yang something) - wasnt he the one wearing blue that they found on the mountain after missing for months thru KHJ's twigs hints to SYG?
hoping to see things start to weave in and make sense! I have a feeling dawon is not dead. And I think those characters who are missing in the 2020 timeline will pop up soon in the next few episodes and sew up the mysteries for us.
The ranger who found dawon - either he has a role to play in this as he looks very suspicious in the few camera frames he appeared and displayed no empathy when SYG asked him about dawon's items, or his acting is way too awkward and doesnt hold any significance in this story...@gm4queen Somehow i think that SYG and KHJ have their own roles to play - Hyunjo on the mountain, Yigang supporting from outside the mountain. Thus things happen to make sure the 2 of them will not to be together on the mountain - HJ as a spirit who cant leave jirisan, YG in a wheelchair and cannot enter the mountain.

@Yinye They mentioned something about spiritless days of the month based on lunar calendar. Hence, that's probably why Spirit Hyunjo couldnt move, as that day was a spiritless day. What he doesnt know is that his real body gets the shock if he forced his spirit to do certain things

1 hour is too short an episode! Since this is a TVN, they should do 1.5hours each episode! Lol
Finally seeing KHJ in action in 2020! Pity him , he looks so lonely and never able to leave the boundary of Jirisan. Can't wait to see how SYG and KHJ work together in 2020, hoping at the end, this will lead to KHJ waking up in 2021 (oh please, no cliffhanger please)
I'm curious about the lottery girl and the ticket. Does it serve any purpose? I mean, it's a piece of paper that flew away, the mountain is subject to water, wind, fire and whatever elements are out there. There is absolutely no way a paper can survive, let alone one actually finding it. Thus, what is the objective of emphasizing on this girl and the lotto ticket? Hope this gets addressed for me..
And that lady with the wild snakes, she is definitely up to no good. I hope the story loop ends with this wild fire arc and move on. Her hate towards the rangers are just ridiculous when she and her husband were the illegals!

Yes! I think the scene of Seung-Ah offering PPL to GY is like totally random, and supposed to be a comedic relief? Out of all people there (and there are many), why him? Lol
and yes, regretfully they should have focus on HJ and YG at the ending
i think a 5yr gap may be more suited than a 1year gap. Snowy mountain should be in 2015 instead of 2019, and HJ in a coma for 5 yrs. that will probably have more impact.
