Her agency will protect her so I don't see in any way that she was forced to do anything against her will.. and if she was really asked to promote the drama, it make more sense to post drama related pictures and not intimate personal pictures of them which will actually even deviate from promoting the drama as all attention will be on them instead...
My personal opinion: at the end of the day I think ratings on SBS still matter in Korea. My understanding is that Netflix subscriber count in Korea is still low. It is important for actors to have high ratings to maintain relevancy for CFs etc. in their homeland. CFs bring in the big bucks for them.
The entire cast started posting a lot more on IG when things got out of hand for the drama (i.e. - articles about lack of chemistry, bad story, bad editing, etc.). I believe they started posting all together on the days of airing about 2 weeks after the first 2 episodes, which coincide with the ratings fall. Plus they often would say watch The King with us today, or the caption "본방사수" which means tune in live (which is what counts towards ratings). I have to believe they still care about ratings on SBS.

I have to say I am so surprised that she posted pics with LMH on her IG. I don't mean to bring JHI back into the conversation, but I read somewhere that JHI remarked in an interview that he would want to reenact their kiss scene in Tune in for Love again and apparently KGE immediately said "No....I am very afraid of fans." Something to that effect (I did not read or watch the direct interview, so something may have been lost in translation). Either way, her post with GY also led to rumors that GY was the reason why she broke up with SHK, and she said afterwards that she was very upset at those rumors. So, either: 1) she has grown more confident and truly DGAF or 2) she was forced into promoting it on her IG due to bad ratings in SK or 3) she herself wanted to post those photos. I personally think it's #1 & #2, but who knows!

Just found and read the articles on Naver. Sounds like she felt a lot of pressure and aftereffects from Goblin. I know around the time that Goblin was airing/ending she was basically chased off of IG by Knetz for posting a makeup free IG post. They insulted her looks etc so she completely deleted her IG. That may have something to do with it + I know actors tend to feel very depressed / empty after a role ends. Mix of both perhaps?

I also would like to add that I feel your love for him and his love for his fans radiating through your words -- it's so sweet to see such a supportive fan like you :). I appreciate the time you took to explain to me, as I know very little about LMH (I watched BOF & Heirs, loved both, but to be honest I watched Heirs because of Kim Woo Bin's character). LMH seems like a very deep and thoughtful person.

Is it just me and I'm overthinking it, or was LMH's posting of that poem from Goblin really "interesting"?? It could totally be a coincidence, but it seemed like that poem became REALLY popular because it was the title of the book from Goblin (I looked at photos and the cover of the book consistently has KGExGY's photo on it to advertise it as the book from Goblin).
The content of the poem was really interesting and in my opinion not as relevant to a debut anniversary day? Especially that last line of "silence will make you stronger." When I read that, I think of KGE who has consistently battled controversy and backlash in her dramas, including The King.
@Heretorant you mentioned before that you weren't surprised he posted the poem for his fans. Has he posted poems in the past? I'm so curious about your further thoughts here.
Another explanation could be that writer KES, who wrote Goblin and therefore probably very familiar with the book, shared the poem with the entire The King cast when there was a lot of backlash going on as a mode of consolation? I think that's the most reasonable explanation, but I like to think it's somehow directly connected to KGE

He had his hand down for a while thinking they will hold hands but then when he realized she was just trying to hold his arms he look so disappointed.
Maybe WDH saw that and made fun of him so he copied KGE's pose.

The host actually called out LMH and KGE for looking "stiff" hahaha (I agree that they do look awkward) and specifically asked KGE to sling her arm through LMHs, so I don't think LMH was expecting her to hold his hand.
I feel like I keep clarifying things, I promise I'm not doing it to be rude, I just want to make sure everyone has accurate information!!

I also don't think this is a TKEM wrap-up party as some are asking on Twitter. The actor who plays Lee Rim posted that he's in Busan, not Jeju which is where KGE's makeup artist is.

Hi! Just wanted to clarify his statement in that interview because I think there was a slight nuance that was lost in translation (I've seen multiple people question how he knew she can fall asleep fast). LMH basically said "she seems to be the type to fall asleep quickly wherever she is" so it's actually more of a general statement referring to the fact that she has an easygoing personality / can adapt to any situation vs. that he's seen her sleeping.

You know I was very disappointed yesterday with the BTS because LMH wasn't his usual self and was quite stoic and reserved, especially during his scene with "Luna". So I was sad.
But this part is really gold (sorry for low quality couldn't find a better one quickly). The reason why is because it's a data point that shows he is much more likely to laugh with KGE than anyone else. If you notice, KGE's actor dad when he asks him "what do you do" starts laughing during the rehearsal. Normally I feel like anyone would have laughed back, but you see LMH just kinda smiles/small laugh. Then when it's KGE's turn and she goes "look he's a charming guy" he IMMEDIATELY starts laughing and actually let out a little snort. I don't even know why. Like WHY? hahaha

Sometimes KGE can come off as immune to LMH (I think we all can agree that she is generally guarded / nonchalant towards him in most interviews etc.) For press conference, she definitely was shy, but she's like that in all of her press conferences (my opinion).
The two places where I got the feeling that she may like him too is:
1) Who Me? Swoon - when LMH kept laughing with JEC, KGE looked really left out and uncomfortable!!
2) Basketball Court Fancam - if you watch multiple fancam BTS of the basketball court scene with WDH, LMH is not really paying attention to KGE much, but KGE seemed to try to get his attention. Her feet/body were consistently pointing towards him too. LMH was kind of oblivious here, until WDH and him started walking away and he told KGE they were leaving (I'm assuming that's what he said) and he specifically slowed down so she could catch up (which was super cute).

But still, to me there are other variables to consider; (i) he's now in his 30s meaning more mature, (ii) he just finished his military service, which I think is an important/life changing experience for a man, and (iii) KGE is not a typical celebrity.
So my main point is comparison to the past may still be valid, but with those new variables present, I dont think it's reliable anymore to conclude only from past data. I think we can decide for ourselves which interpretation we'd like to take as a shipper (or non shipper), and of course only LMH and KGE who know exactly what's actually going on. We'll just support them with what they think the best for them.
Just my two cents though
Wow...very well put. I agree with you. LMH seems to have changed a lot. He even said in one of his recent interviews that he may consider going on variety shows, which my understanding is that he was not comfortable with that before? I honestly don't really know how to interpret his interactions with KGE anymore. He may just be more comfortable with himself now and so he appears more comfortable with her? So confusing. I go back and forth on this everyday.

That interview caught my eye too because the way it was translated in english made it sound like she was referring to ONE PERSON so I thought she already had a boyfriend. But I actually read the Korean version of it and it was a bit more vague than the translation - I think she was referring to people she loves / people who support her and cheer for her like her family friends etc. I was less worried after reading the Korean version

KGE was asked about SHK during the Goblin press conference (I think someone already mentioned here that her relationship was announced even before Goblin started). It's actually a moment that's pretty popular among KGExGY shippers because GY was noticeably upset when the reporter asked her the question (they asked her what advice did her boyfriend give her on filming the drama). KGExGY shippers thought it was a moment of jealousy from GY, but I am 100% sure it was because the reporter's question was highly unprofessional. A lot of K-netizens also commented on the video saying it was very unprofessional of the reporter to ask an actress about her boyfriend at a press conference.
I am a KGE fan and my understanding of her relationship timeline is that she dated BYH 2013/2014 and then there were some rumors that they were still dating in 2016 while she was filming CITT because of some IG post where she was wearing a couple ring that looked similar to the one BYH had. This was during the time when there were quite a few KGExPHJ shippers. If you see the BTS for CITT PHJ is super shy towards KGE too and at the time PHJ fans were claiming they never saw him like that before. Then in summer 2016 it was announced she started to date SHK.
That's the extent to which I know about KGE's dating history! Hope this helps!

This clip was from rehearsal (scene where they sit on Maximum and she turns to face him once they land in his kingdom) and it required him to look at her intently like that, so i think he was just rehearsing

Hi - wanted to jump in here and provide some more color into the "I tried to.." comment!! The "I tried to..." phrasing which is "보았다" at the end of WDH's comment is actually an inside joke between all of the cast members.
Kim Kyung Nam (guy who plays Shin Jae) started it on his IG with some posts that said "I tried to take a selfie..." etc. and I think the entire cast thought it was funny and started posting their own "I tried to..." posts. So if you see on WDH, KGE, and LMH's photo captions, a lot of them say "I tried to...xyz..." (for example - KGE once posted 'I tried to copy my drink commercial," LMH posted 'I tried to eat some vanilla ice cream' in his video with staff members).
Some people picked up on this after reading their IG comments to one another they laugh about it / KGE mentioned "because of shinjae the entire cast is doing the 'I tried...' series".
Wanted to shed some context and light here! hope it helps.

I think it's one of his staff members... see the woman in the photo with the dark & curly hair and the phone. In the third IG photo where she is standing and her face is covered with a sticker, I felt like she was too short to be KGE.
I think his hair stylist also has a similar bag to the one show in the IG photo. Maybe they just asked him to cover their faces in the photo he uploaded? In the ice cream video they asked him to cover or cut their faces out and he said he couldn't because it's video.
