I also wonder why HaNa didn't include Jong Kook after Jaesuk made marriage as a joke. it ties with Jong Kook rather than Sechan. Why not ask Sechan, Jae-Hong, and Jong Kook? hehe

Reading about her reaction to HaNa's radio show about her confession song... 

 

Here is a thing.... 

 

Somin did say that she will announce marriage rather than dating news. She had bad experience from revealing dating news. She did say she had a strong fate about her ex. That was why she went forth doing it. But later on, he left her for another actress. I don't blame him for making decision, but sometimes it happened. It is more embarrassing for Somin to reveal the breakup rather than breakup itself. You can't stop a guy who fell for another person. I think in fact they already announced left her with embarrassment that she is single and he is in love with another. 

 

Somin in a way is more careful and calculating than we thought especially with dating news. Even in Running Man, she has created flirty image to express herself more with everyone. It is similar to Jong Kook's quote that he is friendly with everyone even women earning him flirty kook image. 

 

I like I said, it is possible that Somin is in early state of dating of being romantically involved with no thought of marriage yet. So she can't really declare her actual answer for it. I think the early stage is more like the guy is trying to test the waters. He hasn't confess yet but opened with the idea to try to develop relationship and some dates together. I think Somin's mindset have changed after break ups that she wouldn't call the early stage of dating making her taken but remain single. Some people consider themselves single even though they are in early stage of dating. It is process of getting to know in romantically stage with close bonds. I think Somin did not want to ruin or bring awkwardness in her relationship with JongKook she had worked so hard to forge. She loves this kind of relationship with such a wonderful person. Jong Kook is a wise, smart, kind, loyal, sweet, cheesy, and outgoing person. He has traits she likes. Jong Kook is very slow to open up. He would need a lot of push from everyone. Somin is like protecting her heart. Jumping into courtship with Jong Kook do take a lot of risk. 

 

It could be the possibility that Somin didn't want to push the person too much because of her confession song. She would have to make it more gradual. She does know that he likes her. He just not good with confessing or ready to do it. 

 

i am kind of worried but we will see what happens. Jong Kook does look like he is in hurry to marry. He has a lot of women round him chasing after him and knocking his doors. 

 

And look at Jaesuk who know Somin the most. Go back to the part when he was annoyed that she wrote the song that he had to relay the message to. It sounds and look like he knows the person well...  If it is Sechan, she already made three year proposal. If it is Sang Yeob, Jong kook always asked her if he ask her out, would she go out with him. Sang yeob seems to be more open and easily go a date without needing that confession song. Confession song sounds very desperate or someone very stubborn. If it is non-celebrity, Jaesuk wouldn't make annoyed facial expression or constantly complain about it. And Jaesuk consistently and indirectly points to Kook-min without making into lovelines. 

 

There are so many kook min curiosity going around, and no one dares to mention about it or make it to loveline. Come on, JongKook and Somin singing together in his solo concert. Somin touched his arms. 

 

Does it hurt to add Jong Kook as one of the choices? After Jaesuk's BOLD joke. If somin didn't choose jong Kook out of Sechan and Jae Hong, so the marriage bold joke could be after all, a JOKE.

Jong kook is in general a nagger with people he cares about; both men and women. He nags Sechan a lot when he came to visit Jong Kook's place that Sechan had to bring HaHa a lot. Even boxing scene with Jong Kook, Sechan felt the shock of Jong Kook's love through nagging. it was so funny. In Taiwan Fanmeet, Haha and Sechan had to go through nightmare of his nagging love. He nags Jihyo a lot in later years.  After long years together, he often nags at her when she makes a mistake. He was so quiet with Jin young. Haha. She nags at him more than he did.  It is true that he nags with people he felt comfortable with and care about.

 

He and Somin have met only three years. First year, he was indifferent. He was very grumpy (not at her). Second year 2018, he was annoyed with her for some reason. She always go against common sense to annoy or get his attention for a reason. She somehow figure it out while observing Jaesuk. Jaesuk, I believe, was the one who also helped to mold Jong Kook's variety persona. Both of them became equal and competitive to annoy each other. Their banters were so funny and cute. Not scary at all. Just annoying each other. Somin was able to challenge Jong kook without trying to be romantically involved. Third year, 2019, they have became closer. Jong Kook nags somin many different reasons. I saw their IG live, he teases, teaches, and nags her a lot. Somin even expressed that he taught her to eat cold noodles. I also realised that Somin was able to make Jong Kook express himself more around with her. He taught her some stuff especially eating, telling her truth (didn't like the taste of potatoes), teasing her SNS posts and her IG live, asking her to learn English, and etc. We saw not only in Running Man, he expressively teased her more off screen.

 

He did said one time before that he likes to tease his crush. Seriously, how many times he teased Somin in her SNS posts and even greeted her in banmal style. And look at him... he always smiles when he sees Somin and tease her relentlessly.He is beginning to annoy her and enjoying it. It does make Somin approach him closer and whine. He one time put his hands up to defend himself or expect hand to hand combat.

 

Jong Kook had changed a lot this time, he has become more expressive, laughs more, talkative, acceptive, crazier, witty, and funny. 

 

I also noticed something... he is the one who encouraged somin not to be afraid of silly makeups. He is leading her in a creative way to be dedicated to their craft. Jong Kook's full job is CFs, MCs, and variety shows. Singing was his side job now. He is like setting example to Somin to do whatever she can to push herself to do the things she loves or do things with a purpose. And looking at his grand prize nomination part as a beggar, and wearing hulk costume, no matter how much he hates it, he did it. It is very similar and parallel to Somin who had to go through all these stuff too! He is like giving her confidence that he is doing same that she does not have to be too shy to do it. His beggar episode is soooooooo hilarious. He does deserve a Daesang too. =)  

 

One of the noticeable and telling part about Jong Kook's feeling towards somin-- look at the episode where they meet the singers and dancers for Korean fan meet. Look at when Soran main singer was singing, and Somin was all fangirl using heart fingers and kissing it. Look at Jong Kook reenacting Somin's heart kisses to her favourite band. Look at his expression and laughter. I have never seen him laugh so hard especially Somin's cute expression. I could laugh hard at Sechan answering weird answers. Jong Kook even laugh so hard at him. But look at Jong Kook reenacting Somin's heart kisses. I mean it is funny, but he looks so happy. ahh.. Kim Jong Kook... he laugh small things... from that girl. She does make him laugh, happy, and expressive. I could see that she brought back the light in a man who was so grumpy with her when they first met. =)

For me, Jong Kook changed a lot without thinking. His skin ship has changed with somin over the time. And their chemistry always get better and intense! The way Jong Kook reacted to any joke referring with Somin, he looks like he's open to it or happy. That wasn't even him when it comes to joke like that. And Jaesuk knows him very well that he could make this kind of bold joke. If Jong Kook is not interested in Somin, he would act surprised and told Jaesuk to knock it off and apologise to Somin for ruining her image. He does the same thing for Eun Hye, most women, and Jin Young. He felt so apologetic for putting them into loveline with him. Jaesuk wouldn't make the joke easily that it caused weird but possible real connection between kook-min. It is like, one day you'll have to support them. It is too bold to make it a joke. I mean marriage? Dating will be levelheaded ambiguous. Marriage? That is a big step. It means sense for Jong Kook, but little too soon and embarrassing for Somin. It could be scripted but it calls out for any testing waters to see how people would react to it for their preparation for something no one would be prepared for. 

 

Jaesuk's bold joke hurts Somin's image more than Jong Kook in my opinion. It does reduce the chance for Jong Kook's timing for marriage. It just look like Jong Kook is taken by somin or another person. Also if it is really a joke that marriage plans never happened, why publicise it. It looks like Somin is taking the fall more than Jong Kook. It feels like she is rejected. Jong kook would never allow her to go through that for him to hide his private relationship. He wouldn't let her be his white knight. Neither does Jaesuk. I dont think Jong kook and Somin would take marriage as a joke even prank. Look at Jong Kook's personality, he got peeved when HaHa said I love you to Jihyo so freely without commitment. Byul knows how HaHa perspective of telling I love you. American culture, it is very easily to say it beyond family relationship. It is very open and loving connection to bring one to another. Jong Kook is very different. He took that word very seriously. You can tell that he wouldn't take it for granted and a joke. He would be really upset with smacking heads and flying kicks. That goes all the way back how Sechan told them Somin asked Jong Kook out for coffee. Somin tried it hard to make it look like hang out. Kwangsoo ruined it. He gets head smacks that Jong Kook looks like he didn't want somin to get the wrong idea. Jong Kook acted strangely that calling him flirty kook or playboy gave others flying kicks. He is possibly trying hard to show someone that he is not like that. How about SOmin? Maybe he means well. Her mom is watching too. =) 
 

Also when Somin said Sechan is only single guy in the show. Even Jong Kook stepped it up, it caused wildest goose chase for netizens to figure it out whether she is telling a truth. It is getting weird.

Hence she framed innocent ysc. But it turned out kookmin were just actors. If they were the directors then we can think of the whole kjk-jsm interaction as them both panicking and working to make jsm’s cover up story believable. From what I understood, jsm didn’t understand her role as an actor playing director instead thought she was one of the directors until after the trial which got her eliminated. So if we are to think she purposely failed the mission and lied because she thought she was a director, logical, innocent actor kjk would have accused jsm of lying immediately. I mean how is it possible that he believed she was saying the truth even for the sake of variety? He knows the kind of guy ysc is and he could have kept his reaction minimal if he wanted to appear to have believed it. But no, he is the only one showing utter disbelief and condemnation throughout the entire incident. Even if it was an accidental touch jsm blew up for whatever reason his reaction is not normal. So the question is why did he react in such an extra manner? In addition to him possibly developing feelings for jsm, I thought of another reason (maybe too far-fetched for some of you). Kjk doesn’t like to get romantically involved with people who have history with people whom he is close to (said in one of MUD episodes). So MAYBE even at the slightest indication that things might be progressing to something that could lead to a real life love relationship or to something not so necessary for an on-screen loveline at this point in time, he may have wanted  to prevent it from happening in the future? 

 

Sometimes we forgot the past more when we focus on present too much. We often questioned after they revealed a lot of interactions to put us with curiosity from their real intentions on and off show. If you read between Jaesuk's marriage comment-- he and most of the members do not like surprises or twists representing how the fans would feel about Kook-min and chan-min loveline. Spartace could be the reason to prevent it to become loveline. K-Netizens have openly express hating loveline (it did break Jihyo's relationship with her CEO boyfriend, and Gary disappearing from them cutting all ties to them), and declared and loved Kook-min as siblings early on. Few of them said it could become couple up to their own accord. They never really wanted them to be official loveline. If you watch MUD, did you see the pattern of why Somin is sparsely mentioned but was shown often. I won't go on in details with it but if you look at it, she wasn't a person of interest to talk about, but the way the filmed her especially Jong Kook's solo concert, Somin was filmed in a lovely way. It goes same thing for not wanting them to be official loveline for special reason. Look at Jinyoung- very business strategy like to get her to join MUD. With Jong Kook's help, they finally did. We dont know what is going on in private life. Jong kook is still ongoing with Spartace loveline. Now... with Somin's interactions with Jong kook, do you think Jong Kook is dating someone in real life for creating so many lovelines and chemistry? He is more loyal than we thought. He does hide things for a good reason, but I wouldn't think he would go that far with Somin if he is dating someone privately. If he is single, there are many points that he allow his feelings to go with a flow without knowing. He is little desperate because of his age. He is getting relentless this time. So he must have gone far to change his stubborn as mule or pickiness to allow more openness to let this come for him to choose. Somin came in a right timing and her persistence and personality is something that fits well with Jong Kook. And with coincidence, they have a lot of things in common- they are both like sentimental stuff, music, and cheesy with romance. It does surprise Jong Kook. He does look surprise to find out how Somin loves to write poems or letter. We later learned in MUD that he likes sentimental stuff and writing letters. When she read her poem, his face looked at her with interest.

 

In my opinion, I think Somin always like Jong Kook long before she met him. I think she decided to bravely open up to him after 2018 fortune telling forecast. Jong kook started to build his feelings for her after he joined her clan and revealed her secret. I think he started to realise wonderful things that attracts him about somin when he found out that she didn't reveal his secret. That time, they are platonic in next level extinguishing the indifference. Somin has always been straightforward and brave. She asked him out for coffee after sechan mentioned it. It could be a cover but look at Jong Kook's reaction towards it. He gets antsy not wanting Somin to get the wrong idea. It is probably their first date ever. He is shy though. We dont know if they still keep doing it.... but somin did IG live that she asked Jong kook for coffee hangout again. Okay, maybe they tried to burn up public's interest. But here is a thing, look at the date Jong Kook tried to set Somin up with Jong Min. Jong kook quickly made a call to Somin without prepping Jong Min. He was so funny listening to every word HaHa advised him. Jong Min was surprised with Jong Kook's way of speeding up the situation that he didn't want to make it successful. And Somin ended the call with a twist. And why does Jong Kook look uncomfortable that Jong Min got suspicious? Jong Kook's answers were never straightforward like his variety persona. There are a lot of excuses. HaHa had to speak it up for him. But still it is not clear. HaHa did admit that the two are very close. So it could be more than just indifferent platonic friendship. 

 

The intimate dance for Korean fan meet-- Lya can always change the couple dance movement to less intimate. She is a great choreographer and can come up with fantastic moves. Jong Kook was smiling during the demonstration like he could imagine himself doing it with somin over and over again in our delusional mind. But he was smirking a bit. Somin does opposite like most women do, they said they dont like it but secretly they do. She was so bashful and tense. Jong Kook, who had bad back, was encouraging her. Okay, both of them are being professional but the dance-- it was very intimate. I dont see him doing it during his younger days and other variety shows. I mean in public as well. It is not like him. It could tell us he is single but dancing like that... it may mean something. And confession Song- it sounds like she is shouting out for a man who likes her but does not know or want to confess yet. Life is short. Just kiss her!  Jong Kook is very infamous for hiding his feelings even though he has interest, but won't start courtship. Women have to do all the work. Jong Kook said he never ever pursue anyone before. Women always come to him easily. We sort of think it was for Jong Kook but we brush it off on and off. If it is for Sechan, she already made three year proposal. So it must be someone else who is stubborn as a mule and slow. Our interest dawn again when Kook-min sang confession song together. 

 

After the fan meet, Jong Kook opened up quite a bit. He asked Somin to come stand next to him. Sukijin was asking why Somin was in a bad mood. Jong Kook stepped up to change the subject. In that same episode, he said he found Somin more charming after he got to know her more. They were talking about setting up date for Somin. He just bought a nice compliment for her. Kwangsoo will always kill the whole sweetness reminding us that he avoided her from beginning. It started to get more and more obvious leaving Jaesuk, the nation's MC to figure it out how to deal with this. Chan-min loveline was one of the way to push back to bring distraction. He would never try to make it to loveline. Knetizens wouldn't like it either. He knows Chan-min was forced. Later on, Jong Kook got into the mess with Chan-min loveline. No matter how many times Jaesuk tried to divert the attention from Kook-min, Jong Kook kept on trying little too hard to support Chan-min. It gets funnier because Sechan did blurt out the truth little by little. You said he is only explaining to Jong kook because he was the one who asked. You may be right. Other than morse tapping incident, there are other incident like Sechan revealed coffee date between kook min. If you see the korean fan meet, Jong Kook was whispering Somin's ear, Sechan facial and body language went into like "oops, sorry to bother you lovebirds." His expression was like when we saw our best friend talking to her crush. We would walk backwards and hide from them. Sechan was giving silent vibes between the two earlier. The coffee truck, sechan revealed and even told Somin privately that it was the other guys who did it. Why would you tell your friend privately that the two did it. I mean, is sechan like the one who put his cute picture with Somin to woo her? And why do I see Jong Kook and HaHa's picture on it below. Jong Kook makes everything suspicious, and it seems like he knows it.

So even though Haha is one of the closest longest standing friends kjk has he kept his relationship that he was serious about from kjk. RM members sure are a family. But even within a family individual privacy is an entitlement which is respected.

It is very possible the members entertained the thought privately that they could get together someday based on their on/ off screen interactions but I don’t think they would try to push it subtly but openly on the show to make kookmin realize their feelings or make progress with their relationship. 

 

Also remember that they do not have time to meet up after work to get to know each other. They have to develop it during work to contribute their closeness off screen. Jihyo also said that she does not hang out with Gary after work. Even Jaesuk has a family of his own with his heavy workload, he wouldn't be able to spend time with his running man colleagues. Kwangsoo often hang out with his long time actor friends. They develop it more from work than their off screen lives. I think Kwangsoo and Jihyo developed on screen interaction that brings them closer in real life. That is probably reason that we weren't able to catch their real nature of their relationship. 

 

HaHa and Jong Kook situation and personalities are different. The difference is that, HaHa and Byul didn't work together in public eye during their courtship. They did show they were dating but their timing for their marriage is very quick. One main factor was that Byul's father passed away, and HaHa was a chief mourner for her family. In Korean/Chinese custom, any marriage or occasion must complete within 100 days after the death. Otherwise after that, they to have to wait for few years of mourning meaning no wedding, birthdays, or celebration depending on a person. My cousin had to marry within 100 days after my grandfather's death. After that, no wedding or any occasions for three years of mourning. Then we strip the black strip of mourning, and burn it in remembrance of our filial piety. That explains their quick timing. 

 

Also look at Jong Kook's timing now, he is very in hurry to get married. He wants to get married so bad but he does want to make sure he marries to a right person. He is very desperate. He would do anything to tame down his stubbornness or pickiness. The fortune teller advised him to drop that mindset too, and open it up.

Jaesuk's marriage comment must be bold, planned, scripted, and also a joke. It wasn't first time he made that. He even say earlier on that Somin's mom consider Jong Kook as her son in law. Jong kook even said Somin's mom is so beautiful. I mean... is it necessary to say it? I dont know if it is random but it is unnecessary. He said it with strong expression. That is some telling hints on Jong Kook's action towards Somin. We could call it a joke, but something worth to watch out for-- it could be asking us to look closely at Kook min interactions. It could be Jaesuk asking Jong kook to speed up courtship and admit it and get married! The thing is that, Jaesuk knows who somin is writing confession song to. Even though he is trying to make a joke, but he does send a message to someone who needs to know it. Jaesuk wouldn't use this kind of joke rashly because it will hurt Somin's image. He could have said dating instead. He could have try to let it enter Jong Kook's subconsciousness to help him to recognise his feelings. And I see the closeness of Kook-min that Jaesuk wanted them to bring it to light one day despite it being a joke. It will come with a twist, but it is up to them for now. it does put off as a bold joke, but the choice of words carefully made by Jaesuk makes it more suspicious in some ways. it could excite us or filled with curiosity. I dont know how to give you an answer but filled with hints and pointers that lead to my opinion that they are already passed platonic relationship. Year of 2020 is year of golden rat, which is compatible for Jong Kook who is born in the year of dragon with strong element of water. It would be good year for Jong Kook with anticipation for marriage soon. Wish I could time travel to give you all the answers. =) I think they are dating in early stage with no marriage in mind yet. Just early stage-- testing each other, and getting to know each other romantically. But I do feel like they already passed platonic. I am already sure they are very close with similar interest and they do click whenever they strike any conversation.

Somin with JongKook- Somin always came up first to create something to erase awkwardness between them especially after fortune telling event (also the passing of JongHyun that contributed Jong Kook's aloofness). She make kook-min cross. Jong Kook always show his true surprise or expression whether he like or not. Somin was not going to let it stop her. Not quite. She did it delicately to cheer him up whether he like or not. Jong Kook is not good with acting or reacting to create variety sake. He really does take it seriously. He was surprised with Somin's creativity not realising she was trying to cheer him up or try to work with him. I have to say that she handles it well. Somin surprisingly figured him out so well. Jong Kook was so grumpy and she kept on cheering on going against his negative feelings and comments. He was still holding grudges for giving him low grade. According to Korean fan, it may be possibly the passing of JongHyun. However, Jong Kook was not getting any of it from Somin. She is very quick witted when she goes opposite from his role, to be his white knight. I was surprised with her fast thinking. It completely changed Jong Kook. His consciousness has tilted over opened his eyes trying to prevent her from going into cold water. His reaction is not scripted. He was annoyed but later on got little amused. He wasn't used to dealing with quick witted girl. This was one of the precious experience for Kook-min moment. They had quite lot of moments before she gave him low grade on his christmas memories. Not only Somin shined in it, it had woken Jong Kook's other side he had been hiding from us for a long time. Not only he is caring tough man as variety persona. It was his real self Somin was able to get it out from him. And it wasn't first time she did it for him. Before that, she had him to reveal his cheesy stuff when he said the things to his girlfriend. She interrogates him several questions and it got more interesting. Another one is YeoBo skit when they were married couple, and somin had to wipe the towel she wiped from the floor. It had been a thought for her that it must be hard to be his wife. So she did certain things to learn more about him whether he is going to react funny or tell the truth. He did. He told the truth and played along as a husband. It is more of real him. Then he prepared to get into the role when Sechan, Jihyo, and HaHa joined in. Jong Kook was aware and it doesn't sound like real him but more of his variety persona. Another one was when Somin was able to bring tears within few seconds. Jong Kook was surprised to see her being able to do it. Somin jokingly said it was because of him, Jong Kook. He just took it teensy bit seriously. She brushed it off. It may have stuck in his mind how he build his persona to influence her perspective about him. I said it for a reason because he is now very different from his old persona. Their interactions have changed and influenced each other. Somin had changed a lot too from Jong Kook. Somin seems to be more well balanced, witty, and serious with the game like Jong kook. Jong kook learned to be more spontaneous, embrace penalties, and willing to share his real soft side of him (he talked about how he loves taking pictures of his girlfriend, looking at her while she was watching tv, keeping all the letters his ex send him - a lot of them were written and kept, his jeju-do experience, and etc).  It was so natural- kook-min natural chemistry had been made through out the show. No one tried to make it loveline. It wasn't loveline. It was a journey of their beautiful friendship that could make them a couple one day. 

 

Sechan's reaction to Somin's loveline is different from Jong Kook. It is natural way of responding his best friend or good friend he sees as a sister or long time friend acting as weird girl in love with him. Sechan has been with somin for few years before coming to running man. They had all the chance to develop close friendship that could develop romantic relationship. Somin is doing all of sudden in public, and he was shuddered every time she made a declaration. It is in public and embarrassing. He went along but still hesitated to do it. A lot of us can tell it was forced. It was hard on Sechan, but Somin too because she always said that she doesn't love Sechan enough to marry him. Somin seems to feel she owe Sechan for being her support when they both came to running man. They shared the burden together. Somin won two awards while Sechan didn't yet. He even got drunk about it. Somin decided to give her friend a boost. It was nice of her and running man members to help along. It did help a bit but sechan did well with witty games- acoustic poems and quiz games. He really shines on that. Jihyo even felt more comfortable and learned from him that she could pick a role like female version of Sechan when it comes to quizzes. (Jihyo is smart lady - she got tax accounting degree). She seems to have more collective memories or had some kind of health situation that she needs to sleep more to be able to function. (The doctor advises her to sleep more otherwise her health will not recover if she doesn't have enough sleep. He said never to wake her up if she sleeps very soundly. She can even sleep for 48 hours). Everyone had their on cases, and it is understandable. Some build their roles or persona based on their flaws. Jihyo lack of sleep is part of her famous and cute persona. Being blank at the moment with Sechan will be her another persona she could add. Sechan is smart because to be a comedian, it is darn hard to make one laugh. It is very difficult but needs WHOLE a lot of brain and wits to create such comedy every week especially for gag concert. It helped Sechan to improve his screen time. Somin quick wittiness had brought sechan some screen time and attention. Now Jong kook getting involved with chan-min screen time is planned but his reaction and acting to it sort of failed on him!  Maybe he is tricking us. However, the love triangle is getting more popular than chan-min itself. A lot of Korean netizens even recognise it more like Monday couple skits or skits like loveline. 

 

The way RM is trying to promote loveline with Chan-min is rather like business strategy. It didn't have gradual growing chemistry but small cute moments that creates a funny and witty skit. Kook-min chemistry was never made into loveline no matter how they give a lot of signals. Some say it is just kook-min siblings because loveline wasn't mentioned. Jaesuk kept on joking on marriage, son-in-law, she is your girlfriend, and etc remarks. It could have been one of official loveline. However, Spartace is probably the reason to prevent it from branded. However, we often hear they we shouldn't always believe in what variety says. Sechan gained more screen time because of that. However Sechan is reluctant for another reason that happens way before Jong Kook butted in. He at first said to Jaesuk that he'll be in trouble for teasing Chan-min loveline. We wondered what Sechan is talking about. Jong kook started to butt in slowly, and we sort of realised who Sechan was afraid of. The harder Jong kook tried to pretend to promote Chan-min loveline, Sechan revealed the truth little by little. The torture was driving Sechan crazy. Somin, Jong Kook, and Jaesuk were all torturing Sechan with this loveline. And by the end of the year, Jaesuk blurted out strange comment about Chan-min loveline with Kook-min's marriage. 

 

After Tae-oh's confession. Somin is back to her playgirl image. There are a lot of trends and news going on about it. It helped Tae-oh's exposure to media giving him more star power. Running man's strategy is to promote the guests and their movies. Whatever Running Man say something, they have to make it trending. It helps to advertise to bring more guests and combine the fanbase exposure. Then Jae-Hong came in to picture, Somin is still expected to continue her playgirl persona. But with Jong Kook knowing Somin like Jae-Hong, he still thrust her into her team and sitting next to her in the car and scolding her. Somin return as playful banter with Jong Kook. It makes their chemistry even stronger. It is something that is out of blue that Jong Kook forced Somin in the team. However, we will have to see next Sunday to see why Jong kook put Somin in his team or Jae-Hong moving to another team with Sechan and HaHa. It seems to be planned out beforehand. Somin is very important part of Jae-Hong's strategy for screen time. However, it seems strange of how Jong kook deals with the situation because he doesn't usually do that. He goes like whatever you like or push you to whoever you like, like the way he did to sechan. He was a brother somin before. Now he is little strange, possessive but cute oppa.

you're woman, in relationship, owner of coffee shop. One day, one of your customer is happen to be your crush/ideal type, that guy invited you to have a cup of coffee with no doubt you agree it right way. Haha. That is so cute!! Somin and Jong kook are already close. Jaesuk, Kwangsoo, and Sechan are very close to Somin too. Somin went to Jong Kook's solo concert and sang her song with her. They had heart fluttering moments during concert time. It does show their friendship is next level. Imagine how many times they have to meet together to practice signing. It was also after Jaesuk made marriage comment on Jong Kook and Somin as well. We saw Jong Kook putting his arms around Somin twice during the Ganes Film Festival episode. The two are close. We cannot tell if they are dating or etc. But we could tell that they are very close. 

Then during Jae-Hong's episode, Somin react with Jaesuk as her older oppa to tell him everything. With Sechan and Kwangsoo- her makane friends who she like to trick them into anything. But Jong Kook, unmarried, and possible her future husband, but close friend, she didn't answer. If she is just friends with him, she could always tell him how excited she is to team up with Jae Hong. Not answering his calls sort of telling that SOmin didn't want to tell him the truth or prank him either. She wasn't sure how to deal with him. Does she not want let Jong Kook sway her thoughts? When Jong Kook pushed SOmin into the car, she was like sort of hesitating to get in the car like she is torn in between Jae-Hong and Jong Kook. Jong Kook push her in the car, she gave it up easily. And just to continue JaeHong Loveline, she did lovely banter with Jong Kook. It feels like SOmin is secretly happy to be with Jong Kook. She just talk and whine. Jong Kook just replied to convince her that Jae Hong tricked her with a tone sort of scolding and jealous. I think Somin likes this kind of gesture Jong Kook tried hard to put Somin in his team. =)

What makes Chan-min loveline interesting to me is because Jong kook got in the way. But Chan-min loveline is actually more of skits and cheesy lines. It is very similar to Monday Couple. It is important for members to perform with the guests. Members have to help to promote the guest more than themselves. It is part of the show's strategy to gain more viewers and attract more guests to join the show. It is sharing and exposing more fanbases. 

 

Tae-oh, Jin Young, and Jae-Hong loveline for Somin is part of their decision to choose who has more screen time or trends for the show. Somin was the one who promoted loveline for Jin young and Jae-Hong long ago. A lot of fans like Jin Young. Jae-Hong was in commercial with Somin before. 

 

I observed the latest episode with Jae-Hong in it. Jae-Hong tricked Somin to join the team but later on he got into new team and was happy to end up with Sechan and HaHa. Jae-Hong knows Somin likes him.  Look at Somin trying to get into Jae-Hong's team, Jae-Hong tried to push somin into the car letting her think he will join her. Jong Kook came back and push Somin to the car but went back to grab HaHa from leaving. It was so funny to see HaHa trying to escape from the car with Jong Kook's dismay. Jong Kook came back to pushed Somin into the car. Jae Hong already ran away after seeing Somin pushed into the car with Jong Kook. Somin continues to act on Jae-Hong loveline bickering with Jong kook. I wonder why she didn't run away to chase after Jae Hong. She is strong and can do anything she wants but she lets Jong Kook lead her. Kim Sun Oh joined them because Jae-Hong just left. He seems to fill in whatever it is. Somin was having cute banter with Jong kook about Jae-Hong. Jong Kook's gestures towards somin is quite heart fluttering. He called her several times. It is second time Jong kook butt in Somin's lovelines. First was Chan-min now Jae-Hong-loveline. Hehe.

I saw the IG post from one of Somin's fan. It showed the post of Kang Tae-Oh and Somin confined in the room. After Tae Oh's confession, Somin asked him if he would marry someone who looks like Yondu. (Somin is so cute when she asked). I have to say Somin's very straightforward and crazy. 

 

However, it dawn on me that Jong Kook was the one who told Somin to wear these kind of weird makeups for the show like he called her female comedian. Like how everyone teased Kwangsoo about. And Jong Kook did say that he finds female comedians charming in later episode to placate Somin's confidence as variety performer. Somin in a way seems to be more confident after Jong Kook's remarks. He asked to go further so she could get more trending or screen time. It does look like he's willing to marry her even though she does stuff like that. He was her biggest encouragement to perform that way. 

Back to Somin's question to Tae-oh, I thought of Jong kook about this too. =) She could have asked TaeOh which part he likes about her in general or etc. I was wondering why she asked this kind of question directly if he would marry her if she puts on YonDu make up. =) Jong Kook was the one who encouraged her to do these kind of make up. I think he likes her that way to make him laugh or see her with admiration. I dont know why somin asked this kine of question to Tae-oh. And Jong Kook kept on telling her that she may look cute.  She looks like she is accepting it because Jong Kook likes it. She seems not to mind this time doing all these stuff to make him laugh. It does show that Jong Kook is pushing her to go out of her comedic limits like dancing weirdly for her role as Oh Dal Su. He laughed at her antics. It helped her to step out of comfort zone. Somin's always worried if she step out of boundary, no one would like or marry her. Jong kook kept on encouraging her like he is taking responsibility to push her limits and her image as comedian for the show. She seem to trust him for a reason. Jong kook knows her very well that may not make her attractive but to let her inner beauty and sense of humour to shine from within. He seems to know her better than most people. It looks like she is at the point of realising that her true love would love the way she is even though she put on silly make up for the show. =)

Sorry, my analysis was long but hope you don't mind. I am just filling in gaps of how I try to figure when Jong Kook get interest in SOmin. I think he did long before that around late 2017, but later 2018 Somin went against common sense and went opposite direction making him feel that she may not like him. He probably forgot that he's in variety. =) I think he got the glimpse of who Somin is when it comes to dating or romance when he exchanged cheesy lines with Somin. The way she interrogates him, he said he has met girls like that. Somin is very opinionated. She thinks differently and proved her point. I think that attracts Jong Kook a bit but he kept in distance. Somin was not pursuing him at that moment.

 

I think Somin always have liked Jong kook but still think of him as a bully or tough guy when she first met him as a guest. He gave her starky comments about her forehead that pissed her off in a funny way. Second meeting, she chose Jong kook as a partner. Did you see his reaction, he was surprised and thought she was clueless woman. It's little hurtful to say but Jong kook always take the cake. It is the way Jong Kook was. Jihyo also gets upset with him to smack or fight with him. Once you know him better, you get used to it like Jihyo. Somin at the second guesting took all in. But Jong Kook said all i can give is love. I think he tried to calm down to remind her he is joking around. This is how he tease anyone even women. 

 

I think she started to find out that she could be close to him was around late 2017 to early 2018. It is the time Somin opened herself to Jong kook. We didn't see much of it because Kwangwin is very strong and hugely popular. It is one of the reason that saved RM from cancellation. I think Kwangmin, overseas trip, and Jong Kook's health problems prevented Kook-min's natural interactions. I have heard that everyone has busy lives after filming. Getting close on screen is only chance they could make. Jihyo even said she and Gary never had a chance to hang out off screen. They all still love and care for each other. They build friendship on screen that contributed their closeness off screen.

 

Somin has a goal before running man that she wants to get to know and work with each member. She is very observant and managed to be flexible depending on person because dealing Kwangsoo, Jaesuk, Sukjin, and HaHa all have different humour. HaHa-- childish humour. Jaesuk needs to be challenged. Kwangsoo- siblings and makane style. Sukjin-- father and daughter style turned into forbidden for funniest reason. They are all different that shows Somin's flexibility to cater each needs. She is very accommodating. Somin said in interview in the past that she made a goal to get to know Jong Kook around late 2017.

 

In mid 2017- There was cute interaction between Kook-min initiated by Somin was when she thought Jong Kook was married. Jong Kook was acting angry throughout the show. She looked closely at him. He bashfully said she was too close. Somin went off to explain against Jong Kook's curiosity with Somin's art of reasoning. Kwangsoo kills off curiosity asking Jong Kook to go to see counsellor for real. There were small moments and sparks in Jong Kook with Somin's encounter. However, I learned from HaHa that Jong Kook doesn't wake up completely with small sparks. You'll have to keep doing it. 

 

Later in  2017, Jeju-do trip- Jong Kook and Somin finally teamed up. And he at that time was trying to warm up to her since he knows how romantic she is. They shared the memories, and he opened up about the girl he loved got married to someone else. He asked Somin if she had some memories. Somin is one strange girl shared about her father catching octopus bringing laughter. That time, Somin defended and showed her love for Jong Kook's singing voice. She follows Jong Kook around and defended him against Jaesuk's annoying antics. It was the time Somin expressed her love for Jong kook's music. 

 

Like you said, Somin is already a fan of Jong Kook before she met him. I think Jong kook didn't pay too much attention to his feelings. There were times he was still feeling betrayed by SBS for controversy, then mired with gout problem, and other injuries (not only him, the rest of members also faced serious injuries. HaHa revealed that he had to take slip disk spine surgery because of Running Man.) One of the Korean fan mentioned that in early 2018, Korean Idol, Jonghyun passed away from suicide that contributed to his aloofness. That kept him and Somin having chance to get to know each other. I think in early stage, Jong Kook is getting ready to be detached from Running Man. It was a long time and he looked tired and lost interest in his role after the betrayal and other series of things that made him distant. He was probably reflecting what he did wrong. He is a very meticulous person who takes his job seriously.

 

Also if you watch MUD (My Ugly Duckling), you can also get grasp of Jong Kook's personality towards women or love interest. There are other interviews about Jong Kook's friends telling about Jong Kook's love life and how he is around the girl he loves. HaHa said it is hard to get Jong Kook's heart. Plus Jong Kook doesn't show interest or thought getting interest in someone. Even though he finds interest, he doesn't show it. It never initiate the the courtship. Only after he falls in love, he'll do all the work every step of the way. HaHa said it was annoying to see him like that. Even if he is interested, he doesn't express it. It takes a long time, and woman had to have patience to do all the work and persist. His friends, relatives, and colleagues often had to push him or remind him. It takes a lot of poking to get him interested. You have to do it three or more times for him to get interested. He even admitted it. Now, we can picture that it is hard to see when he likes a woman.

 

You are right that he tends to like Somin without knowing. It takes people around him who  knows him well to take notice of it. I have to say that his friends and colleagues started to notice it and wanted to protect kook-min development. Some people will disagree with me... but I think I saw the  pattern in MUD that Somin was not mentioned in MUD as one of the choice for Jong Kook's type of woman he wants to date. His manager said the women from Running Man. Three guests plus Jihyo. Somin wasn't mentioned. Some say because she was involved in Kwangsoo. I think not because they are not even loveline. I mean it is kinda weird and rude. I know some won't agree with me. If I were her, I would feel little hurt. She is part of Running Man. Jong kook doesn't have to choose her. There must be a reason. I think MUD wanted to bring Jinyoung as permanent cast. They need to push Jong Kook and Jinyoung together. However, it is not only time Somin was barely mentioned but still show up in MUD. Taiwan fan meet, they show Somin, Jong kook, HaHa, and Sechan but her name was not mentioned. Mothers were quiet about it. I dont really mind that much but once i saw the patter after Somin came to Jong Kook's concert with Jaesuk and Kwangsoo. Her name was shown up. But among the mothers, they only talk about Jaesuk and Kwangsoo. Usually mothers would hype up if they say any woman coming along with them and talk about it. Mothers are curious and would love to chat along. They would ask who she is. They would love to match her up with their sons no harm done. They were quiet. It is around the time Somin and Jong kook were already very close (the one Jaesuk said Somin's mom consider Jong Kook as son in law). I started to notice weird pattern. If you watch Jong Kook's solo concert, they show somin's facial emotion that she was in awe or in love with Jong Kook's music. Jong Kook's songs are full of love. They blur everyone's face except hers when he said about his first love. It was lovely but strange. And I also wonder why mothers didn't say anything about it. Jong Kook finally mentioned Somin's name when he tried to set her up with Jong Min. The whole thing ended weirdly. A love triangle indeed. And Jong min is noticing that there is something between Jong Kook and Somin already. They said they are close. They already had private coffee together. He mentioned the option of doing video chat or calls with her.

 

I think Jong kook started to have growing affection for Somin was when he joined her clan. He was more of protective oppa. i think it was the time they started to get to know each more off screen. Somin said that she will keep secret for Jong Kook. they have become close already. Jong kook began to say that he will reveal somin's secret because of her playful variety persona that he didn't want to resent her but tease her to become closer. They knew each other already and were in stage friendship that really care about each other. Jong Kook sees her has his younger sister- siblings like vibe closeness. 

It turned out to be true about their closeness when Sechan said Somin asked Jong kook out for coffee. Their bond is already very close. I think they were in the moment of getting to know each other to hangout with each other before the development of romantic feelings. You know who Jong kook is like... he takes a long time. I also find it funny that he didn't like the fact Kwangsoo revealed that Jong Kook didn't want to meet Somin alone. Also others calling him flirty kook. He was trying to smack everyone and did flying kicks. He doesn't like that. He is very sensitive about it. I think he is struggling to find a wife, and flirty kook image would make it harder for him to find someone to approach him. 

 

I think they made wonderful development after jong Kook's solo concert where Jaesuk teased their SNS chemistry and Somin's mom considering Jong Kook as son in law. I think that stage, Jong Kook and Somin are earliest stage of developing romantic feelings. 

 

Gradually we saw a lot of kook-min moments. Korean Fan meet in mid 2019. Chan-min loveline for late 2019 with Jong Kook butting in every step of the way. Jong kook was very openly teasing somin. He talked more about his romantic antics. He was always with Somin quietly. No matter how Jaesuk pointed out there is spark between kook min. No matter how Jaesuk bluntly say about son in law, do you like her? is she your girlfriend.... so on... and never made it into official loveline. Then there comes marriage comment last week. But still no loveline. Kang TaeOh creates another distraction building guest loveline. Then there comes Ahn Jae Hong to guest as well. It comes to test if Somin continues being love frog or continuing Chan min loveline (with Jong Kook). I also sense the change in Somin's playgirl persona when she enters Chan-min loveline. It becomes a conflict for her playful persona.

 

I am sure Jong Kook and Somin continues to interact off screen with SNS and you know... his last year fan meet singing her confession song. That was more flirty than her fan meet with Jaesuk and Soran band. That concert was way after Tae- Oh's confession. Jong Kook singing confession song is like bigger confession but still ambiguous. But still... there are so many questions about it to bring suspicions all over the place. 

 

Haha. We only believe it when they confirm. We still have long way to go. If I were them, do i want my fans to prepare the news or fool them? I rather want my fans to prepare for the news rather than fooling them like the whole thing is a joke. It would hurt Somin more. However, in my opinion, i think Jong Kook and Somin are already romantically involved but still dating with no marriage in mind yet. I think they still test each other by dating or in serious relationship in private. Because both of them will announce their relationship when they are getting married. They have known each other for three years. That is very short amount of time to make sure they are soulmates. I believe this time with 2018 compatibility forecast and Jong Kook even admitted that Somin is charming once you get to know her more,  they are dating but in early stage.

I also wanted to included that the way Jong Kook present Somin is like what he wanted to express to her, not just his fans. He's giving her a gift to sing her song she wrote from her heart. The song is critically acclaimed by members and fans. He openly shared their friendship and how he admire her. He is sort of promoting her but in a way he is like showing her off to his fans like he is proud of her. Jong kook seems to know that Somin likes sentimental stuff to make her happy in particular. It is very detailed. The stage background has full of hearts. Somin's background for fanmeet with Soran and Jaesuk has summer like or travelling background with little hearts but blue background. Somin looks like she is on holiday tour in Paris, the city of love in Korean fan meeting singing her song of love. I can tell how proud Jaesuk to sing that trendy song. He likes the lyrics and its contents and structure. I think he didn't like to be the one to relay the message for her. I think it is reason why Jong Kook made excuse that Jaesuk didn't like to sing cheesy song. He rather have someone to sing it live. Jong kook always make innocent excuses. And his friends and staff does the opposite like making heart shaped background and lots of red, and make comments (Jaesuk). And still I guess they will never be loveline but loudly spoken chemistry. No one would ever impose loveline to them. It's their journey and their story. 

 

It reminds me, I think Jong Kook's staff purposely put frog in Jong kook's 2020 calendar. =) hehe. He just always need a push from everyone who knows him well. And the frog does represent rain and spring. And obviously Somin who is famous for it too. Imagine her looking through calendar and saw a frog on it. It may look accidental but it could be coincidence. Jong Kook believes in fate right? =)

He only cares about how his fans supported him through his tough times because of his merit, talent, and being true to himself. The fans there have been through Jong Kook's toughest time, and still be there for him. He dedicated his craft to sing for them. I think he means to invite somin for a special reason. 

 

He is singing her song she wrote from her heart to someone she loves, and hope he will come to her and kiss her and confess his love. She is a fan of him and his voice. She loves his One Man song. She always defend his voice and singing ability. She goes around looking like she is in love when he sings. Everyone were surprised and in awe. But if you look at Somin, she is in love with that voice. Hearing Jong Kook singing her song and participate interactions with her with hearts in the background, it is like a boyfriend creating a romantic gift for her to cheer her up and make her very happy. And her brother was there to watch the show too! I think Jong Kook did more than showing her off that he is her oppa. When Somin listened to Soran composed the song for her lyrics, she said to turn off the camera because she wanted to cry. She was touched. It could be felt same way when her favourite singer sings her song with her in live! 

 

But the choice of song and the background with skin-ship- there is no logic to see if they are just promoting Somin and her song to prevent hate. She's not a singer or plans to be. She is talented writer, and if she writes more, she will continue to gain more fans in the future to her own accord rather than through Jong Kook. I dont think Jong Kook wouldnt want somin to think he invited her to make her famous. I think it is weird logic to let anyone think that way. Plus it happened before the awards. It is like Jong Kook is willing to partner with Somin that he wanted to work with her in the future. He probably would sing more of her songs. They both like same things and understand each other so well.

 

Another strange thing is that Jong Kook is the one who initiates all of these things  when it comes to Somin ... causing rumours, change of behaviours for everyone to notice, being close to somin, and butting in Chanmin loveline, SNS interactions, coffee truck, and of course inviting her to sing her cheesy love song in his concert with hearts all over the place. Even his concert theme talks about REAL Kim Jong Kook. It is time he gets real about himself and his feelings towards present and the future. See the gap between Somin and Jong Kook while singing. It was flirty comparing to her performance with Jaesuk and Soran Band. Jong Kook mentioned that he likes the KISS as part of Somin's song. He made excuses to excuses that KISS wasn't often mentioned in most love songs, and Jaesuk refusing to sing it live. Even though Jaesuk hates it, he would have come to support and help them to kill the rumour. Jaesuk would be happy to promote and support Somin. However, Jaesuk said he was jealous that Somin and Jong Kook sang their song. Haha. Jong Kook didn't even let HaHa sing their song, Raise Your Voice. I have an inkling that Jaesuk refused to sing with them to get them to sing together. Jaesuk knows who Somin wrote the song for.

 

If Somin initiates first, I wouldn't be too suspicious. I also wonder why they put Sechan into loveline with her this time. There may be possibility that Somin would have to leave her 'playgirl' variety persona in order to become involved with one person. I also noticed how they slowly push somin away from Kwangsoo part before his announcement. Kwang-soo moved with Jihyo and Somin gets play girl role spending more time with Jaesuk and HaHa. Somin and Kwangsoo did get nominated for second time but did not win. They did show strong kwangmin interactions early on but died down. If Kwangsoo is not dating and continue Kwangmin interactions, my guess is that they will win again. Even last year, they always work so well together. The wet armpits really show comedic chemistry of Kwangmin is still classic and gold. But because of Kwangsoo's dating status with famous actress, they have to lessen it. Chan-min loveline will help Somin leave her play girl persona to prepare for change. It gives smoother transition her new persona. The player persona will be passed to someone else. Jong Kook was possible candidate but instead he butted in Chan-min loveline. Somin said Sechan and her became little more distant off screen because of the loveline. Also, Somin and Jong Kook got very close behind the camera. Coffee hangout, SNS interactions, Jong Kook teaching Somin how to eat cold noodles, and natural interactions in front of camera. Jong Kook doesn't seem to receive playboy persona when Chan-min loveline was made. I think it is also a cover to allow someone to develop relationship away from public eye. It wrecks everyone's logic whether they are dating or not with Chan-min as official loveline. 

 

I mean... I think he means more than that. 2020 is the year he will anticipate marriage after we get the hint about his self pity comparing to Ryan Reynolds including Jaesuk's odd and most recent comment about Marriage especially pointing at Somin rather than any women in general. They made it look like a joke. But looking at Jong Kook and Somin's reaction in this timing.. something is interesting. There are reasons for RM to show us that. Prepare for pandora box to open. I think they are well aware there will be surprise, hates, or etc. But Jong Kook is not kind of person to care if he loses any fans. He just do it for what he really wants. Look how he had to struggle to become singer where there were so many objects from left to right, top to bottom. Even from his own mom. He didn't care if his parents like the girl or not. Someone posted about who would leave Running Man if they get married especially for woman. That was an issue before with Jihyo. Jihyo may  have sacrificed her marriage prospect to continue her rising career in running man. She may or may not regret. Somehow, there are times she seem to. Because of that, Jaesuk said it is okay for Jihyo to get married and continue her time with Running Man. Even if she marries Gary or any other single running man member, she still can continue her role in the show. No one will force her to leave unless if there is some setbacks or etc. Running Man may try new ideas outside of social norms. I dont think one of them will leave immediately but gradually. My guess is Jong Kook would be the one to leave if he gets married to one of the member. Fortune teller told him that he would have to embrace the changes. He probably would leave or staying RM as married couple with another RM member. They would probably try it out. Because of the se scandal, MeToo Movement, Sulli, Ara, Jong Hyun, and etc have plagued Korean society, they would have to make some changes. Jong Kook is very westernised would probably suggest something. Maybe he and his wife would like to continue to work and spend time with each other. He is most likely a person to choose to be with a woman he loves. It depends on a woman who rather to be left alone and perform away from her husband's spotlight. Sometimes work and marriage shouldn't mix because it would make them competitive causing strain in their marriage or other way around. That is why they encouraged one of the couple to stay or leave the show. I think Jong kook will be up for challenge if he and his wife decided to work together in RM. I have to say that it has been a long time Jong Kook willing to initiate the natural chemistry or loveline but no one even PDs and members and even knetizens wanted to call them official lovelines. @RunningGirl7686 You have a share of information that makes you think Kook-min are just friends. We actually started as skeptical, not delusional. We dont want to go through some disappointments or etc. You may share your worries here, but understand that we have been posting our analysis and understanding in a different level. Most of us are very late fan of Kookmin shippers. Believe it or not, I was the probably the latest fan to join this group. 

 

As we dont want to label ourselves delusional or manipulating the stories to make it believable. There are some posts I don't agree with to be frank, but it is not important. For example, some see Jong Kook pushing Sukjin's hand down during Zombie episode. Some may post it like he is being jealous. For me, I look other way around. I think of Jong Kook waiting for this turn to shake somin's hand. Another example would be pinky finger touch. I think it is accidental touch but their distance and body language was so comfortable that even smallest touch with pinky seems normal to them. 

 

we are all romantics, but we are aware of reality. We also have said that we wish Jong Kook and Somin all happiness if they choose someone else other than each other. 

 

Don't worry too much right now. Sometimes, we forget something, and read this forum again, we started to remember. We are trying to be realistic and low key. If you see the early posts of this forum, they are supporting their siblings and friendship vibe rather than romantic couple. Jong Kook and Somin know we are not stupid. We enjoyed their interactions and skits together. Jong Kook even goes beyond off screen to comment Somin's IG. Netizens were surprised and love their interactions. Someone's Korean fan IG also got hacked at the same time. There are a lot of posting to mass report both somin's IG and her fan's IG to be reported. It has been really crazy time for her. However, Somin's fans have continuously worked very hard to protect her, and promote her. Somin's Taiwan fan club went beyond to visit her most of fan meet or small autograph sign up in Angyang. They supported her and send her gifts and whole lots of love. Somin overcame Vietnam Fan meet with incredible personality and grace. She has everyone especially Jaesuk to care and mentor her. The thing is that, she doesn't need Jong kook to help her with this and that. She didn't need Jong Kook to come to her with soft voice and handsome gaze at her. The solo concert of Kim Jong Kook's theme, The Real Jong Kook, I think Somin is like she is part of his theme-- that reflects Real Kim Jong Kook. I think Somin is becoming big part of his life; a part of who he is. She didn't JUST change him, she also reveals part of who he is. I think it is what attracts Jong Kook about Somin. She made him realise the best part of him, the REAL Kim Jong Kook. It is time for 2020 to be revealed. Pandora box to be opened. I think Jaesuk and the members know what's behind the scenes. They know their secrets and weakness or etc. They know everything. Jaesuk know's kwangsoo's dating history. Some of them may be embarrassing.

He is putting all attention on Chanman. If you read the replies after Jong Kook's comments, korean netizens hilariously commented him to be strong and not to be jealous referring previous episode that he was jealous that somin sat next to Sechan. Everyone's getting more vibes from jong Kook's jealously more than Chanman loveline skits. 

 

Another example, rewind to Jong Kook's solo concert. Somin, Jaesuk, and Kwangsoo attended the concert together. Again, they talked about Jong Kook's posting comments on Somin's SNS. Jaesuk revealed again that he met Somin's mom and she subtly said she would love to have Jong Kook as her son in law. But ended up saying that age gap got in the way. See the pattern? He said something then ended with statement that will kill the rumour or opposite as if it was true or logical. 

 

See the pattern? Go back to his current comment that he was complaining that if they continue to support Chanman loveline which ended up with twist that Jong Kook and Somin would announce their marriage to each other. Then he ended with saying that it feels like betrayed and he would take hiatus. 

 

I believe Jaesuk is saying and telling Jong Kook and Somin to reveal it now, not to drag Sechan in to torture of loveline and love triangle. So he won't take hiatus. Sechan was always in panic mode everytime chanmin loveline is mentioned. I think Jihyo is wishing for more Chan-min loveline is promoting more screen time for sechan. Jaesuk will take hiatus of Somin and Jong Kook and Sechan keep doing it with twists. 

 

I think Jaesuk is trying to get Jong Kook to speed up or encouraging kook-min moments. I think it is what Jong Kook wants. He is asking to attach himself with Somin to help her to gain more fans through him.

One day he met a fan who told him that his 'slice' moment in Real Man had made the person laugh overcoming his lonely life. Henry realised his role as variety entertainer has come with a purpose. Henry is very talented, creative, and amazing violinist. He is perfection when he plays the violin which is a big break from his variety persona. He and Somin are quite alike in some ways. Somin amaze me with her observational skills. Her way of handling each member is different. The latest thing she had done for Sechan secretly torture him with lovelines. It couldn't happen without Jong Kook. I dont think somin would ever get involved with Chanmin loveline without Jong Kook. That makes one of the clue that Somin and Jong Kook are involved that Sechan is like a sacrificial lamb, which he is happy to be. I think Sechan has deep care and love for both Somin and Jong Kook. It is like hitting two birds with one stone. The death of Sulli and Ara, teaches us that netizens comment should not matter. Life matters more. He could compromise a bit to go to gym when the woman he loves is working or etc. She won't be right person if she dont want him to go to the gym at all. All she had to entice him to do the things she wanted to do with him to make him happy. He needs someone who makes him happy too.

 

I love the way he introduced Somin to his fans as part of the plan to tell them to support and protect someone he cares about. He knows how somin has been through. The Vietnam fan meet may have contributed to his worries and hopes for Somin and her future. She deserves her place with her talent and merits. He wouldn't want her to give it up or tame it down. He didnt want to change who she is for something she didnt do wrong. Somin couldn't get her photoshoot at the airport. Some may think it is not useful, but you have to realise that corporation and sponsors pay the celebrities to wear certain brand and style to model. It is extra money everyone had to earn for their living. Somin couldn't get through photoshoot for security reasons. Sechan has been so kind to volunteer to sacrifice publicity to be with Somin. However, Jong Kook's concert and duet with Somin has a lot of questions... i wouldn't be very suspicious about him introducing Somin to his fans. He could have compose and write new lyrics together. Somin had already have a song in her mind to sing with him. She said so. He could promote her as a crazy poet. I am very surprised with the choice of song. I am also surprised that he was making excuses that Jaesuk didn't want to sing it in live. Maybe Jaesuk doesn't, but at least to sing with Somin for fun to support Jong Kook. If Jong Kook want to promote Chanmin love, he could have sechan to sing along with them taking Jaesuk's part. Jong kook is Soran main singer, Somin herself, and Sechan as Jaesuk. But no, it is just Kook-min. And there are lot of flirting and heart fluttering moments between them. Their distance is close. She held his hands. He hugged her back. Jong Kook went on to tell that she is unpretentious and very good girl. He really do care about her. But I think he thought of her as part of his show's theme, Real Jong Kook. I think Somin is a great example of how she gets real to write such lyrics. She is also famous for her personality and authenticity. Sechan is bit different-- more like one of his friends because he and Haha sang Jong Kook's Jung Nam or Mikey's parts. Hehe. Somin is like she is part of his theme-- that reflects Real Kim Jong Kook. I think Somin is becoming big part of his life; a part of who he is. She didn't JUST change him, she also reveals part of who he is. I think it is what attracts Jong Kook about Somin. She made him realise the best part of him, the REAL Kim Jong Kook. It is time for 2020 to be reveal. Pandora box to be opened. It is going to be interesting year for him... and his fans and whole lots of shippers. Jaesuk's goal is to prevent him from joining Flaming Youth.

The Curious Case of Kim Jong Kook: the Stealer of all Hearts. =) 

 

I was reading the posts about KJK fan then becoming Kook-min fan. I have to say that you have a great character to be fan of Kim Jong Kook. I unfortunately was not because of my tone deafness. I could hear bit but I could not tell if it is top notch or not. I just enjoy the rhythm and beats. 

 

Kook-min fans are developed when Somin and Jong Kook's fans learned from both Somin and Jong Kook's real personality in MUD, other variety, concert, or etc. He or she realised that it is not only being kook min shippers but real respect for both Somin and Jong Kook as individual. There are very deep authenticity in Jong Kook and Somin that we saw they are so much alike despite their different personalities. To me, their down to earthiness, authenticity, kindred spirit, and kindness makes their chemistry so beautiful to watch that they put their differences on the side, and compromise with each other. There is a lot of balance between them. It is so refreshing to watch.

 

I am not Korean and also tone deaf when it comes to music. So you can cannot  picture me as Kim Jong Kook fan before he came to running man. I started as fan of Running Man. I like its concept, atmosphere, and the feel of Korean variety shows. They were so creative with games and the members came from all variety of genres. Out of all the members, I enjoy Kwangsoo's slapstick comedy to Jaesuk MC's skills. I sometimes like Gary. I often thought Jong Kook is incredibly good looking and authentic. That is why I am very late fan of Kookmin. I rarely watch his variety shows or etc. I am well aware of how beautiful voice he has according to other sources. 

 

I became fan of Jeon Somin first because I like her weird sense of humour. I have humour like that. She and Kwangsoo share similar sense of humour for variety. I enjoyed their slapstick comedy dealing with loveline, siblings vibe, betrayers, partners in crime, and etc. They never cease to make me laugh with their comedy. As Somin's fan first, I think she and Kwangsoo do share a lot of respect and care for each other. Both of them have very similar personality on and off camera. The fortune teller said the same thing about the two. They are very similar. However, their couple destiny is not going anywhere. It would be one sided and parental care. Somin take these stuff seriously. She even reads about it, and have a knowledge about it. Somin is a kind of a person who wanted to have lifelong companion as her priority if she finds someone that makes her happy. She also realise that she can only be with someone who is happy with her. The fortune teller said Kwangsoo doesn't have romantic ability or vibe  to cater Somin's needs. Somin is kind of person who is happy when the person is happy. She constantly checked on them and make sure their needs are met. Somin needs someone who really enjoys being with her and her humour. Someone who gives romantic and cheesy vibes to play around. She loves to make someone happy. She is very tender hearted. I am that kind of person who likes being around with this kind of person. I like weirdness and craziness. I enjoyed Somin's humour in Running Man. Her mannerism is so authentic and down to earth. I hope Somin will one day will attract a person who is like her. It will make her happy. 

 

I found a lot of respect for Kim Jong Kook when he deals with Somin. He was at first was little rough on her. She was also rough on him before. Hehe. It was for variety but Jong Kook tends to prefer to be with people he is comfortable with. He didnt like changes. He didn't like someone who is flaky or pretentious. Somin's personality at first seem to be pretentious because people dont know her well. They thought it is too good to be true to meet someone with such a bright personality and weird sense of humour. Jong Kook at that time was going through changes and had some hard times. He looked tired and was plagued with health problems. For the first year, Somin was building her place and working with Jaesuk and Kwangsoo most of the time. Late 2017 to early 2018, Jong kook became friendlier to Somin. He was supportive but kept on distance from Somin. Somin never really cater to Jong Kook. She goes back and forth, and just being herself. She is not thinking with common sense. Jong Kook hates that. He hates unpredictability. He is always annoyed with Kwangsoo, HaHa and Jaesuk's unpredictability to go against him for variety sake (Not off screen). Somin joined them going against him, but she comes back to him. Somin only agrees if she agrees about Jong Kook. Jong Kook can be very demanding and nagger. Somin just do what she can do. She knew going opposite is a risk but bring out the craziness from Jong Kook for his screen time. It brings a lot of jokes and slapstick comedy.

 

One day, you realise that Somin stays true to her nature. She will never hurt his image or credibility. She never does. When Jaesuk said  Jong Kook is a sly singer for joke- Somin protested and defended Jong Kook's ability as singer she wants to protect to her dear heart. She mentioned that she knows all of his songs. She asked him to sing. She show how much she loves it. She is very true to her heart and will never joke about Jong Kook's ability for variety. She is very protective of him. Jaesuk pushed more button, Somin defended harder for Jong Kook. She wanted to kick Jaesuk's butt. That kind of simple acts often ignored is something worth to watch about Somin's authenticity and character. If there is something she does not like about jong Kook, she challenged him like when she act as his wife wiping the cloth with her mouth and also choosing who is the handsomest. Somin is very witty and smart. Her tactics works well with Jong Kook's ambiguous manner of hiding his feelings but his action tells otherwise. For example, he revealed that he knows somin won't choose him even though she wants to choose him. His plan backfired with Somin's wits. Another example, when Jong Kook joined Somin's clan- when they both had to choose to reveal or keep the secret. Look at their answers and reasoning. If Somin watched what Jong Kook said about Somin, her heart will be touched. He has never wanted to betray her in first place. He overgeneralised her variety persona not knowing how she cares about her bond and friendship with him and even his image. She cherish it so much, that i think the RM staffs started to notice it. They skipped most of other members answers. Jong Kook and Somin's answers got the staff surprised, and they paid close attention to it without making it into loveline.

 

I think Jong Kook gradually learned that Somin has great air of authenticity in her that makes her more special he has ever met with great sense of humour and personality. She is also very polite and very considerate. Somin really tries hard to work with everyone. In Mongolia trip, somin packed up stuff for two like getting extras she could share with Jihyo- eye mask, mask, food, and etc. She may look crazy to bring such a large luggage,  but you realise that she brought it to bond with Jihyo. Somin always look up to Jihyo and try to love her as much possible. I think Jihyo is not a very cuddly person, but she does share her love for somin too. Somin is very touchy feely person who likes skinship. She looks afterJaesuk and Kwangsoo with care. She would fix Jaesuk's wig, and always takes care of Kwangsoo. It is very Somin as you learn more about her. Jong kook was the last person she could warm up to. Jong Kook opened it up more when she calls him for coffee and friendship off camera. Somin does that with everyone. It is her job to build chemistry with each member. It feels like somin saved Jong Kook for the last. And Jong Kook already soften his approach with somin but still has a wall in between. I didn't know they have become very close when Jong Kook met with Jong Min to set up a date with Somin. The way he handles calling Somin- it does show that they call and chat with each other very often. 

 

I didn't become Kook-min shipper until I saw Kook-min video few months ago. Yes, it took a long time to make this forum less lonely. =) I am one of the latest influx of Kookmin fans. 

 

Fortune teller was right about Jong Kook- he will go through make changes, and will continue to do so. There will be changes in places, taste, and etc. And he met a lot of women lining up. He is a stealer of all hearts, but he could only choose one. Someone who can make him even more authentic and real as ever. 

 

I like the Jong Kook's Joker's opening. I started to look up his MUD's episodes more, and read about who he is. And how he is a loyal friend of Steve Yoo. He went through a lot of hate because of that. I just thought it was a fate for him to prepare to meet Somin. Something he can help somin get through this without changing who she is. He introduced her to his fans at the end of the year. If you know Kim Jong Kook very well, he will not just promote anything. He will do it as it is a risk to to lose some of his fans to introduce someone he cares about. He can get new fans, but he is kind of a person who wants to make someone happy too. I just thought, wow, Somin met someone who can do the way she does all her life. She didn't even dream of someone who would so something so incredible for her. It was kindness and biggest broad heart that loves wide as ocean of Kim Jong Kook. He is incredible. He remains the stealer of all hearts. However, he only have to choose one and steal one completely. I hope he will be happy with the woman he loves. I hope Somin will be with a man she loves. Both of them deserves all happiness and joy in life despite continuing the circumstances have thrown at them.

Sukjin is supposed to be the last one to come in the line. Sukjin gave in the way to somin to go first. Jaesuk gave Jong Kook a pat that could distract him from whose walking behind. Somin remains the same all throughout the years. She always wore elegant dress that is dressed for a ball especially choosing light colour. I believe her stylist did it to reflect her personality and demeanour. It is who she is. She didn't change not only just because she was sponsored to do so. The pattern I saw throughout the years somin wearing and choosing the dress, she is consistent, loves to dress for herself to enjoy the moment, and live the moment. Jihyo has always have been using edgier or sexier image throughout. Jihyo has more modern and avant garde look to reflect her variety persona as ace, female warrior, or modern woman. Somin is more of inner strength while Jihyo shone her outer strength. It is nice to have different women for running man to set example all women in Korea and beyond.

The haters made fun of Somin that she didn't get the memo to wear all black. Oh come on. It is just a ugly joke that doesn't lighten up. If Jong Kook ever heard of anyone saying like that about Somin or Jihyo, he'll knock them out. I just remembered he commented to Sukjin after he commented Somin's face is bigger than Jihyo's. The haters never learn a lesson even from Jong Kook's warning. I just rolled my eyes and smack the palm of my hand on my forehead. Again, never understood their and ever fathom to understand why they still do that; belittling other people in form of a joke. They think they have sense of humour. I am relieved that Somin fans rarely show this kind of behaviour. I hope I won't ever see this kind in Somin's fanbase. I did see some obnoxious ones. We just have to be ourselves to be kind and respect one another. Jihyo is fine young lady with natural beauty. She has very down to earth personality with little cuteness and kindness overload. Her introverted nature makes her humble and down to earth. She dos have a nice personality. She is very polite and quiet. Somin is being herself too. The haters' form of degrading Somin is appalling and double standard. They don't deserve to be heard.

sbs, perhaps because they got burnt last year with the hyped up couple awards, chose the sanest route for couple awards this year and went for male male couple. i don't think chanmin even got a nomination. however, chanmin did get ysc more screen time in the last few months which i believe helped him finally get some individual attention on the show. jsm looked so touched to see him win. 

 

Last year, I didn't expect Somin to win the award, and I am surprised she did last year. Top Excellence takes a long time to get one. I think this time, there are more new variety shows and good ones to be able to receive the award. I think they decided not to give Somin this time because they probably did not want to look like they are favouring her. The thing is that, this time, I thought Somin deserves to get one of the award. She works so hard in ever episode. She shed her image to become like a comedian. Maybe it is not enough because her popularity is still low when no one recognise her in the subway or etc. SBS has their own system, and have to cater other shows as well. So lets not forget that. Not surprised that somin appeared in Naver search wondering why she didn't get the award. I was bit surprised that Sechan got excellence award. Yes, he deserves it but his screen time and contribution is smaller than Somin. He didn't get trending in naver. He became so much better in later half of the year. I love him the games of quizzes. He is darn good. He is good with word games. But he is not consistent like Somin, Jaesuk, and Kwangsoo. I am impressed with sechan in later years. The well deserved award goes to HaHa. He is amazing this year. He did well. He should team up with Somin and Kwangsoo more often. Three of them together is gold. I think Kwangsoo deserves excellence or top excellence. He is darn good. But I think his consistency became less this year when he has to spend less time with Somin.  Last time Somin won top excellence, the netizens were surprised but also praise that she should get one. This year, we thought she would at least get one, but didn't. The netizens are now typing up thinking she should get one. I think it is note for SBS that Somin has a great presence in SBS variety show and variety world. Next year, they will have to push Somin this time. I got the feeling if she push herself more like shedding her image even more to prove her place, I think she has a place for bigger award. She is very new and not even comedian. She has to compete with best of the best like Park Yeong Ja, Park Na Rae, or etc. if they felt that she may get Daesang. Another person is Kwangsoo, but he mellow down this time. He has best partnership with Somin. When you team up the two, they have very good comedic partnership. Remember her wet armpits? kwangsoo made the situation even more funny. I think Jong Kook won top excellence for his role in Ugly Duckling more than Running Man. Sukjin did really well this year, but I think he needs to push it more for 2020. He is not consistent yet.

It brings to Somin to play skits with Sechan in interview. Jihyo has Spartace to promote, so she has to push Chanmin loveline. There is always competition for it. It is just healthy competition, nothing bad about it. I do find it funny that SBS made the commercial on Kookmin. Aren't they trying to get more people to look forward to it, and get disappointed that it wasn't nominated. It didn't even put love triangle (Kookmin-Sechan). It was weird clickbait. Do they think netizens prefer kook min? It is getting bit stranger than ever.

after the performance, when jsm is leaving, kjk asks her where she is going and makes her stay for the Q&A. that was super cute! their conversation was also fun. out of all the words in that song, why did kjk get stuck on 'kiss'? if it was any other man, i would have said that was casual flirting. 

Look at the stage background filled with hearts, red colour, somin wearing red... someone is doing all the pushing. It is so funny that it takes other people and his friends, family and anyone to push him to the girl he likes. The stage is so cute filled with heart shapes. And Somin acts so different from performing with Soran band. And looking at how Jong Kook return her gestures are sweet. I can tell he tried to hide his feelings in public. If Somin ever do that in private with him, i think it would be more heart fluttering. I mean, look at her. She is all smiling and her eyes are looking at him. She offered him her hand to hold. AND he didn't let it go quickly. He held onto her, and she pulled away first. He offered her a hug first. Somin is always protecting other people's image that she always act friendly to everyone. I think she knows and well aware of Spartace as part of running man brand. 

 

I find it funny and interesting and beautiful that Somin is the first loveline or secret or natural connection Jong Kook ever want to connect with a girl in public. Usually others would push any lovelines to him to promote him. He didn't even want it. Jihyo and Jinyoung were thrust to him. SBS did all the work to create it as a brand. It takes HaHa to push Jihyo to Jong Kook in Running Man, MUD and Live Picture. MUD and Running Man push Jong Kook with Jinyoung. It was not his doing but he agrees to let them do it for him. But Somin, there are so many things he choose to do things for her. Promoting her with Sechan, sending coffee truck, and singing confession cheesy song with Somin. i mean... who really push him that? No one is vocal about Kook min. Everyone is more vocal with chanmin including himself. Somin is willing to write a lyrics to suit jong kook's taste for his concert to show her talent. But choosing her cheesy confession song... it was something strange that it was his doing to promote his bond with her. He said it is not loveline but close friendship. i think it is one of the rare thing Jong Kook has done for someone who is close to, and it is a girl who could have an interest in him. Jong Kook is a very handsome, loyal, rich, and a man with big heart. He is a package but he does have some strange habits. I think if he spends more time with somin, i do believe they would have so many things to do together beside going to gym. Somin seems to have more guy friends, and she could have been used to know what they like to do. I think jong Kook is going further to show the world how he is the one for the girl he loves. He is showing his romantic side more often this time. And Somin is part of the equation. I dont know what will come next year, but I hope the two will choose each other!

I think and saw the same way you did. He sort of move his head up and down. He even led his arm out to help her climb the stairs. He could have led Sukjin go first after him, but he saw Somin, he just paid his attention to her. Remember he just came, and haven't seen somin in her full dress. =) I can really tell in his body language that he was surprised to see her! And she looks very pretty!
