    LOL he's trash but he's our trash. And I'm a hoarder so I can't bring myself to clean him out of my life and stop watching this drama despite all the stuff that he does. And I hope your novel spoiler is right and we get our classic fade-to-black bed scene in the drama. But what I meant was that rather than just consummating once, LCY has to have the intention of getting XF pregnant and pretty much coming at her sort of passive-aggressively about it? 

     

    ahahahahaha in that case instead of us getting the original sad ending & a happy-ish ending, we'd get the sad one & even more sad one XD

    I'm far more curious if LYC consummated his marriage with Sese, he must have since he pretended to love her for YEARS and while he might avoid bedding her for some while, certainly not years....so, novel readers...spoilers, please?

     

    And I do wonder how they'll deal with LCY bedding Sese in the drama...

     

    We know it's a harem drama where kings/princes/lords had endless concubines, but but...just, no. My poor modern heart hates harems. Having him sleep with Sese and even worse, later on Xiaofeng (cuz trailers did seem to imply they had some bed times) would make it even worse.

    And even if he didn't sleep with Xiaofeng, they certainly kissed, so still leaves a bad feeling thinking he kissed both of them if not more

    Oooooh, if the empress is scheming/faking the whole maid getting pregnant by LCY while she got him drunk...I'm all for it! I totally prefer that over the novel version! 

    And would LOOOOVE to see Sese all angry when this maid turns up who is pregnant by her beloved LCY XD

    At least then she would leave Xiaofeng alone and concentrate on getting rid of the maid & her unborn child (poor baby, thou T_T)

     

    Darn, can't watch the previews now, gotta wait till I get home in the evening, soooo curious thou XD

     

    But but but, LCY & Xiaofeng somehow maybe consummating their marriage on some drunken night (well, sometimes drunkenness can be good-ish?) and her getting pregnant thus making her quit with her suicide attempts is a pretty good alternative for the happy ending...if they manage to pull that off

    It was never in the list behing The Legends.  But i dont know about its ratings.

     

    darn, so maybe that was a one time deal...now I'm really curious just what it's rating is!

    Anyway, I've been reading a lot of the spoilers and I know that this won't ever end happily but I still look forward to finishing this drama. I think I prefer that I watch this with my eyes open (figuratively and literally) knowing that tragedy awaits the OTP. Should I even call them the OTP? Oh well, onwards!!

     

    so I'm not the only one who got a tad weird vibe at times with those cousins...XD

    I have already gotten used to c-drama tragic endings long ago, so those no longer bother me.

     

    What does bother me is when they are executed badly and do not make sense or do not fit the story/character up to that point! THAT is when I hate the sad endings.

    For Rise of the Phoenixes they changed the novel ending to opposite and even if I did not know of the novel ending, I would've still hated the drama ending because it did feel out of place.

    RoP is a perfect example when drama's sad ending bothers me and I hate it - for it just doesn't go with the plot & characters actions up till then.

     

    However, if the sad ending fits the plot & characters, I'll happily cry those sad tears (thou rarely dramas manage make me shed a tear) because it makes sense!

    And Goodbye My Princess IS one of these rare dramas where I would not only accept the sad ending as completely normal but prefer a sad ending...because it completely goes with the plot & characters! 

     

    Even if it will make me sad, it will be a satisfying & accepted sad feeling (if that makes sense XD)

     

    If they really make the alternate ending which will be a HE...I'm just curious how exactly they expect to bring about THAT miracle.

    His concubine Zhao framed XF for poisoning and LCY fully aware Zhao was lying, punished XF and put her under house arrest. Later, LCY set that house on fire, knowing GJ will come to save XF. AD saw the fire in time and she helped XF escape through the window. While they were hanging outside on the wall LCY ordered his guards to shoot arrows at them to stop them from escaping and put his plan to waste. He later told XF, his men were being careful and would never have hit her. XF then asked him what about AD, he replied what about her? she's just a slave. 

    Compare this to GJ, who did come to save XF but instead saw her safe and AD under the rain of arrows....so he gave up his life to save AD, knowing that if AD died, XF will die too....out of sadness. He knew AD was the only family left for XF..... that her reason for living was AD.

    I really do believe that one of the biggest reason why XF killed herself was because AD died and XF became all alone, she had no one left to live for.

     

     

     

    Had forgotten the bait part, but yup, that was nicely explained.

     

    And yeah, main reason is loneliness.

    Like, Chengyin is the one who got her beloved people killed, so even if she did love him, kinda impossible to live with him and since AhDu meant the world to her, Xiofeng lost all will to live. With everyone, with Ahdu, gone, she truly has no reason left to stay with Chengyin

    from what I''ve read of the spoilers, in the end Xiaofeng commits suicide because by then she has remember his betrayal, that he totally played her in the palace regarding his revenge & sese (he faked his feelings for sese for years and thus treated Xiaofeng like crap all the  time) he ended up killing Gu Jiang as well and I think in the end Ah Du also died and so Xioafeng had only Chengyin left with all of his betrayals thus she rather ends her life.

    Chengyin is most definitely treating Xiaofeng like crap (whenever there are others around) sort of to protect her from Zhao's & also achieve his goals with his revenge - that Sese is of Zhao family which was part of the plot to murder his mother, therefore Sese & Zhao's are also on his kill list...theeeerefore, for now he has to make Sese feel loved because he has not yet gained enough power as a newly minted crown prince to bring down the Zhaos, that is why he acts like a jerk to Xiaofeng so that Sese would not realise he actually cares for Xiaofeng & not Sese and wouldn't make trouble with his revenge

     

    As for the higher ups, I guess they like her just fine as a political asset. At least the great grandma & the princesses do genuinely like her

    It most definitely will be tragic, probably, if they stick to novel.

     

     

    As for the 2 endings - I had also heard of it. One will  follow the novel with it's tragic one, but the other one...really can't think of how that will be, hard to imagine it being happy with all the betrayal Chengyin has done to Xiaofeng ...unless they both forget everything again and go live somewhere far away? lolz

    As far as I know, the episodes are aired on Mondays and Thursdays, 2 episodes on each day. Or was it 4 episodes each day? I think someone on the thread said 4...so either 2 or 4 XD Need clarification.

     

    Haven't read the novel myself, but do know of it's spoilers :
