I really wonder how could he manage to do action shootings with such shoes! They look 2 sizes larger! Maybe Goo Hae Ra could make new shoes for poor Sun Woo... ;-)

I see your points, still it gets on my nerves, especially because I sense it was done on purpose, and I am referring to the article. Anyway, I am happy they are getting a lot of support. When I first started reading about Korean entertainment industry, I came across the stories of Korean artists who took their life because of haters and I was really shocked. Still upsets my mind. It is something so much alien to my way of thinking, I could not believe it. And I confess I got worried for all this digging on old stories. But what you said gives me peace. Thank you.

Hello, I am very pleased to see that the actors of Mr. Sunshine bagged so many awards, they deserved it! In the end, this makes justice of all the bad things that were said at the beginnig... sorry for ranting, still hurts. Only, I wished some prize for Byun Yo Han, because I think he deserves one as well.

Nice reading about their married life but why is Soompi site so biased about LBH to the point to cut his wife interview so as he would look like a jerk who still eats without waiting for his wife? In the comments a lot of haters seems to be happy with this way of giving out information...

Catching up... I was so pleased to read that letter by an university professor, even if translated by google... anyway I was like... stunned! He is soo cool! An Italian professor would never do that, they think too high of themselves (we often call them “barons”). Anyway, what a great teacher! He took the chance to tell something important to the youths, through something they can relate to, even if it is a tv show. I would really like to shake his hand.
@rubiesomeone on twitter translated what they are saying in this video: “Pa-Deun-Jo fighting!” That is the union of the nicknames Hina gave them: fool-moron-loser. They are so fun, really.

@KDramaLogic good question about the title. It seems quite forced as well. Eugene might have been the sunshine for AeShin, but these words were said just once and did not became the sweet nickname or love name used by her to call her lover... she also never called him by name, the only time at the moment of his death (and this upsets me greatly), so.. I am puzzled...

Ahahah, the farewell greeting were so fun! Hilarious! I think the actors must know that the fans need some soothing picture. Eugene Choi galloping away toward the sunset is the scene many fans could have imagined. Brilliant humor by Lee Byung Hun. I like him even more.

@rubie I watched again episode 23 till the scene of the hospital. I apology, because I was wrong, Eugene had a gun on his own. But to fire the Japanes he uses a gun taken from the first Japanese he puts down. Then he put it back in the hand of the dead Japanese. So I should watch the restof the episode to find out where the bullets of his own gun went, because I don't remember at all. Still, he could steal a gun and bullets anywhere. I am upset.

@rubie the Japanese authorities would neve held responsible the doctors or the nurses for the stooting, mainly because at that time they were upstairs taking care of other Japanese wounded soldiers, and thus they had witnesses. Moreover they need their help to care of their future and present wounded people. It was just a plot hole, stupid as hell, and then again, a marine would have played better his cards. I would really like to ask an expert about stategies or a soldier to get a professional opinion about this plot. As Eugene easily stole an horse, he could steal weapons too.
I want to add that when a writer writes a plot about things is not expert of, hires experts to get advice... so I think KES next time will be better off hiring some consultant on matters she clearly has no clue.

You’re welcome. We all need theraphy... I am also grateful for the comments and analisys of the other forum members. It helps.
About the bullets: Eugene came back to Korea without a weapon. We see him at the hospital, killing the three Japanese, by taking one of their guns. He fires. So, the gun runs out of bullets. What a trained marine would have done in this case, before running away, could be for sure take the other weapons and bullets. But we see instead him placing the weapon in a dead person hand... what for? As if this could be a sensible thing to do! To me is a big plot hole. So, this is the reason Eugene has just one bullet left. Could he find other bullets somewhere else? I think he could, like killing some Japanese (he could do it even without firing) and taking his guns. There were a lot of possibilities but the writer wanted him defenseless. Ready to die.

@SeReNiTy thanks a lot! I needed it for a little project. :-) This serie got me inspired and I wrote a little one shot fanfic after ten years of inactivity... today I feel much better, as I could ease my pain for the tragic ending throught the writing...

I believe he did. The dearest friend to Eugene, informed by Gwan So for sure had to take care of his deceased friend.

I woke up this morning and I came here to read the comments. Well, the fact is that I am not recovering from this drama’s finale. I wonder when I will feel better. It happened to me for just another show, and the feeling lasted long time. I am angry because the writer got me, and the actors as well: with the story and the acting they made me fall in love for the main characters, mostly with Eugene. And then killed them all, except the one I liked the less... uhm... good job...
@aurelionsol I agree with what you said. Why they took that train? It is a huge plot mistake: it is not believable that the most wanted RA fighter, whose face was on every wall, could take a train, even disguised like that (in western clothes she would attract more attention, imho). It was suicidal even if they were not ambushed as the Japanese knew they were to take it. There could be other ways to get secretely that place. And they left Eugene out. She was leaving him behind, as she didn't tell him anything. But why? Eugene as a former soldier could be a great strategist, and in fact he was. I thought he was welcomed in the RA and instead he was kept out of the decisions. It does not make sense at all. Then, he tracks her, finds out that the Japanese are setting an ambush and dies. May I swear?
@kansas424 yes, that stupid scene worked only because of the outstanding acting skills of the actors, mainly because of Lee Byung Hun. An actor who I saw for the first time here in this drama, but now I am a fan of him forever. I hope this sad drama, being watched by a wide international audience, will lead to get to him better parts in western movie, that will suit his skills, much more than the mere GI Joe blockbuster movies he did till now.

Well, I have just read the live recap and watched the final part.... the death of Eugene was not necessary. He was the reluctant hero of this story, he had an hard life and not even a kiss in exchange of his love’s sacrifice. All the deaths of the characters were unfair, but the one of Eugene is the most tragic. I will never watch again a drama by this writer... she seemed to just try to close the story in some way... I am left with the sensation she went for the mistreatement of her characters in order to shock the audience. It does not work with me, miss writer. I will always cherish the wonderful characters, full of humanity, but I will never come to terms with the ending the writer chosed for them.

What I can say, it is six ‘o clock in the morning and I cannot sleep anymore... this all does not do any good to my inclination to insomnia... I am too much into this drama, it is not sane, really. Re-watching, I think that some deaths seemed senseless, but in reality just seemed as such. They were shown as extreme sacrifices done for the fatherland. It has some meaning...today, in this time, this idea is quite alien to most minds, but it was the norm in the past: patriotism and sense of duty were taught with words and examples since childhood.

I was expecting something bad, but well, not that bad... even the preview is not encouraging at all... for example, I believed the journalist would survive to tell the story, but it doesn’t seem so... this serie is going to re-enact for me the trauma of watching Rose of Versailles, anime about French Revolution. I hope that at least, before the suicide mission to kill Hirobumi, they will have time to make real their wedding... there are 2 years to jump to that event. And, according to the preview... the reunion at the bar now looks more like to a Last Supper...

@bedifferent thank you for your help understanding that scene. Kyle was an outstanding character, I will miss him. He often kept Eugene on the right path and was genuinely concerned he would not become a ‘dangerous man’.

@bedifferent I am referring to the part in which Eugene asks Kyle why he was his friend, as he did fight the other American for him. Kyle replies it was because he (Eugene) is a good soldier, because ......, and because he (Kyle) believes in God. I missed what he said in beetwen, I dont know if I have understood really what he said, but seemed something about the consul in Japan.

@bedifferent thank you for the explanation. Still, I think the wife of an American (put aside the forged document) should be protected even without the visa that she would get later. As a wife I think she was entitled to some rights anyway, and she was in clear danger. I recall Kyle said something I did not hear clearly about these people (the head of consulate and maybe the judge) when he met again Eugene. What did he say?
