By the way, is it only me who saw SoBong as So Yong + Bong Hwan after episode 7? I always see them as one soul after that episode thats why I was not that hurt at the ending.

I always see them as a merger of 2 souls in one body with equal partnership and the same exact reason why the ending is infuriating. Because they made SY as a parasite riding on BH and BH is nothing but an instrument.

But it was fate now working on them I guess.  It wasn't SY claiming her body back when BH was transported back to his time.  "Is he gone?" was all she said and she did what she had to do next, even trying to put the scarf back to the king.

That's why she got all of the hates because she sinned, she got free rides and got rewarded.....:joy:

I think SY was like BH in some traits like cursing etc.  She did stop cooking already as was shown in last EP.  I thought we were supposed to see SY cook for King as part of the process of choosing his Sunjeong but that didn't show so I'm not sure.

Why did BH go to SY?

SY didn't get punished yet, she's still alive she was saved and for that she is thankful and thankful as well to BI because he always "found" her hiding. In the end, she somehow accepted her fate and got love from the man who loves her  after BH makes him see that SY is a loveable person as well and is just as much as a victim of the circumstance as himself.

Well, the drama portrayed SY as a proper noble lady of Joseon who was bred to be a Queen. During her childhood, she kept study study and study. Maybe she is bit tomboy and strong minded since her family is swimming in money but cursing, lifted her skirt up high while walking....I don't think so. Even myself who was not bred for a Queen will got chili in my mouth if I cursed when I was young....haha

Based upon the drama SY was given 2 opportunities to takes back own body. First, when BH jumped into the lake and in the verge of death but saved by CJ (remember SB's inner monologue) and second, when BH went back briefly to his own body but she didn't grab any of the opportunities.  It's meant either she has lost her will to live or she is too coward to face the reality and takes a free rides on BH instead. At the end she comes out and accepted her fate AFTER BH cleared the coast for her and handed CJ on the silver platter.

  4. I don't hate SY, I feel nothing for her actually but I can understand where those hates came from.

She took her own life (no excuses) which is a great sin in majority of cultures and religions in this world especially in oriental cultures. In Korean culture those took their own life will be punish (remember Goblin drama?), in Chinese culture their souls won't be accepted in both heaven and hell. In majority of religions (as far as I know), also will be punish. BUT after the great deadly sin, instead of got punish she was mightily rewarded and the person who did all the heavy lifting was brushes off. Of course SY receives all of the hates....

Some can say that SY was there all along and the feeling for CJ is totally hers because BH is a straighter but if SY retains most of BH's manly traits after he left, why BH can't retains SY's womanly feeling for CJ after he is in his own body??? Shouldn't we use the same formula when we want to solve the same tricky Qs instead of using double standards?? Don't tell me all about hormones, hormones and genital don't dictate love and care.

I think youre talking about me. Hahahaha

But I dont mean it that way.

Yes, I understand that maids are slaves in that era and have no freedom to get away from their masters. But when I said HY was "loyal" and chose to stay in SoYong's side, I dont exactly refer to her physical body. What I refer to is her heart.

If SoYong's character is truly rotten (as what some people here concluded), HY's attitude to her should have not been the way as it is in the show. She might not hate SY but she might have been scared of her  just like how the GQD's maid is scared of GQD. But no, HY still sees SY as a sister and a dear friend. She knows she is not cruel. She knows her the most and so she understands her real character. She knows that SY is not a cruel and bad person.

HongYeon  also speaks her mind freely in front of SY. If other  maids do this, I believe they will be punished severely. That says a lot about SY's character tbh.

Sorry about didn’t mention about your name because  I read about your comments but forgot the user name...:joy:

I won’t say SY is rotten if we judged her by Joseon era noble codes. She’s only acted according to that era. So HY and the rest were just fine with her. She punished people  and she rewarded people according to her moods. It’s common. HY is her nanny who taking care of her since she was born, they have strong bonds and she treated HY exceptionally well but still HY did fears her to some extent, remember she was kneeling fearfully asked not to be killed after SB woke up and SB said jokingly I would kills you if it helps and added to her fears. HY started to feels at ease and more free AFTER SB happened because SB is different. Remember how SB always prodded her to speaks up during early episodes.

But if we judge her using 2021 moral codes, she deserves to be put to jail forever.

I am not rooting for SY at all, I feel nothing for her because for 20 episodes her screen time is less than an hour. On screen I only see SB. But SHS is one hell of an actress, the dynamic between SB-CJ and SY-CJ are like heaven and hell....

  6. For some people who commented about HY stays (other maids as well) despite SY’s bad behavior, you need to know that HY and every single maid depicted in the drama weren’t simply maids,  they were slaves. Slave can’t simply resigns just because they wanted too, it will cost them their lives if they do that. Their life is owned by the slave masters. Remember Little DamHyang?

Jung Hyun tried to look at SHS lovingly most of the time, but I definitely felt the heat during their tango scene and in the spin-off where he checked So Bong’s reaction after their kiss. The man has the most seductive eyes when he wants to. Like he looks a sex machine when he puts his mind into it.

SHS is a fireproof woman to be able to stand that heat....:onfirex:

pair up SHS-KJH in a drama where one of them (if not both) is a sex maniac for all our sake

We need a movie for that, drama can't accommodate the fire...

When sober in the wild, SB seemed to be very soft and melancholy lhaaa.....:highonflowers:  I would like to believe they are versatile....Btw, what are we talking about in this KJH's thread??? :fear:

SB is shown/implied to take the lead - in a homosexual setting she/he would be the top right? but as SB, she's on the receiving end and she still raved about it - I found it a bit confusing - maybe I'm thinking too much :joy:

They were under the blanket and it leaves it to your imagination who was the top or bottom but FYI there is another "rank" which is versatile.....:coolshades:

SB was seeking out the concubines (through the anonymous letter) after their hot night - as she/he put it, they were the "guardians of his sexual identity" - unfortunately or fortunately for SB it turned out to be CJ - and maybe that's when SB accepted it? I mean if you are strongly attracted to a particular person it's unlikely you'll chase after others - plus SB also started falling in love with him - the queen's dictionary, CJ's persistent efforts etc etc - so I think that sealed the deal for SB

They showed us how after the hot night SB is having hard time to accept her changes of orientation, she spent half of episode pondering about how great was sex with CJ for god's sake...:joy: after that we were shown how they can't keep their hands off each other. So the point that the writer tried to drives home is they did bond over sex/lust/pleasure and the real feeling came after. This situation is in line with one of the theory of homosexuality.

So actually Mr Queen's writer/s is a very smart one. This is only one example of how well informed those writers are. That's why I can't wrap my head around of how the way they can ended the drama in such idiocy....

    @aisling

I want her as KJH next leading lady......Visual wise I think they look great together and she is a good actress too....

the way I see it - JBH could be a bi without realising it - because he was still very much attracted to women being in KSY's body - by their logic shouldn't he be not attracted to women (unless KSY herself is bi, of which we don't have much information) :joy: - in any case he did plenty testing as SB to establish that it was actually himself who fell for CJ - I'm pretty sure their hot night played a BIG role in it :joy: basically offering a playboy (BH) some very fine goods (CJ), which he/she couldn't get enough of and lust is a very powerful form of bonding too

The thing is SB's attraction toward women disappeared the moment SB fell for CJ. If SB is a bi than SB will try to gets into the concubines' pants even after experienced a hot night with CJ. SB can't keeps her hands off CJ.

  12. I am amused by some people who said that JBH attracted sexually to CJ because of hormone in KSY's body. Apparently they have no idea that hormones don't determined a person sexual orientation. No amount of science researches in this world were able to pinpoint what caused homosexuality yet. But one thing is sure, a straighter can become a bender because of sexual experiences. Sex is addictive, addiction cause a person does lots of unusual things....

Yup. I think as actors they need to protect their personal life if they want to lead some semblance of a "normal" life. Fame can be very intrusive. I like that both SHS and KJH are quite open and honest in interviews but maintain that strong personal boundary.

He is rarely/never get caught in public too, unlike some celebrities who pictures or videos of shopping, airport, hang out etc are scattered around the nets. He had mastered the craft of going incognito.

yeah - that's usually a burning question in most of such interviews :joy::joy: especially since CLOY's fame

He is young sexy and famous but none of the ladies (eeerr, gentlemen) related Qs.....He mentioned "my friends" a lot but rarely about his family too, I only saw one mentioned of his younger sister. He keeps everything inside a tight sealed vault. SHS is also the same type of person. Both of them gave out nothing about their private life.

No offense taken and in CJ character's POV I would have to agree with KJH. Added to what you said above (about his perspective in loving His Queen), CJ had experienced lots of lots of losses. His family were killed in front of his eyes. He loved HJ and despite checked out early he still cherishes her very much hence he was super distraught when she left. He loves His Queen (I don't want to use SB/SY/BH) to death and he saw with his own eyes how she was about to died together with his unborn baby. He was shaken to the core. For a person who had lost that much he is just being grateful that His Queen is still by his side, alive. So whatever nagging feeling he has about His Queen, he will just brushes it off and covers it with love and gratefulness, so at the end of the day it's really doesn't matter for him whose soul is inside. In fairness, SY isn't a terrible queen and she loves him a lot too.

So I am totally fine with CJ’s situation. But of course SY and BH are different stories. The characterization is terrible (no need to elaborate) and made me think that the writers purposely created this confusion for hype and they are successful.

    add.

Forget to add that for CJ, SY/SB/BH is His Queen period. Thru out 20 episodes, he’s never addresses her by her name, not even once. So for CJ, she’s His Queen, no more no less. Sounds shallow in a way but this is what it is...

But of course I can't say the same thing regarding JBH. I can't believe he won't misses CJ both in bed and out of bed....:coolshades: He has grown to cares and loves CJ, hormone and genital don't dictate or command love and care. JBH LOVES CJ, period. Action speaks louder than word.

While KSY, for me she should stays in the bottom of the lake forever or in the future. I don't care about her at all. She sinned by taking her own life but got rewarded mightily.

The more I talk about this the more I feel the execution of the ending wasn't intended to be like that. Too many potholes. Maybe there is something missing in between, similar to BI's back story. There is a missing link that connects the story.
