YG Denies Reports That Lee Jong Suk Turned Down New Action Film Due To Recent Draft Notice
YG Entertainment has released a statement to respond to reports that Lee Jong Suk had decided to turn down an offer to appear in the action film “The Witch” because he will be enlisting in the military.
The agency stated, “It’s true that Lee Jong Suk recently received his draft notice. However, he has not yet decided when his exact enlistment date will be.”
They went on to explain, “Lee Jong Suk’s decision to not appear in ‘The Witch’ is a completely separate issue from him receiving his draft notice. The choice to turn down the movie was made to respect the actor’s wishes to take a break.”
Lee Jong Suk will soon be greeting fans with his new movie “VIP” and SBS drama “While You Were Sleeping.”

Do they send you papers requiring your presence, and then you work it out with them on which date in their time frame you actually enter service? Enlistment notice can come at any time, most regular men usually enlists after they finish high school, but celebs usually enlist in their 30s due to work.
But recently the military announced a significant change, that enlistment date cannot be pushed by celebs now anymore. Whenever you get your call, you have to enlist. And it seems the call is randomly generated.
Which seems unfair, since younger people like Sukki or KHN should be given more time before enlisting. But sadly it seems the military can sent notice to anyone in the legal age for enlistment.

JS already got his physical examination done before in 2013. Lets see what happens now.
I really hope he stays healthy, whatever the decision is!!

Ahh I feel so sad !!
I knew that eventually he would have to enlist, and I was preparing myself for it, but this feels too soon
He is an 89 liner, even 87 and 88 liners haven't gone yet, so why this early??
But if it is true, and if later he confirms I hope he has a safe and happy service!!
@frozentundra That's YG for you, I have been stanning YG groups for a long time, but one problem that I have is that, YG is so hush-hush about everything, which creates ambiguity and confusion among fans. I hope they give us a clear message soon. I think they are saying he got the enlistment notice, but nothing is decided as of yet, but I am not too sure. I really wish I could read Korean.

JongJoo shippers, just dropping by to say that all of you have done an amazing job at writing the essay and picking those 5 beautiful moments from W. It must have been an incredibly difficult job since W has so many great moments but because of you guys,it is so well done. Even if I had not been completely biased to W(since I feel its groundbreaking in terms of plot, etc), and our sweet couple, even if I had been a complete stranger I still would have voted because that writing and the GIFs is just so convincing

Please do not attack Darling shippers because you are in another ship. You can believe something, but others are free to believe what they want. We are all mature people here, why must you tell us what to do or not?
Let me tell you, reality is quite different than what happens on set
Sukkie is a friendly person and he is very close to everyone from actresses to actors like Seo in Guk. Doesn't mean they are in a relationship. That is a professional thing which actors do to get comfortable with each other.
Yes you can see it as something else of course, but doesn't mean you will attack other shippers because of that.
Also not to brag or anything, but LJS was actually caught in the middle of the night with PSH by Dispatch. Now that is more than just a professional relationship, we can be certain
So Darling shippers have nothing to worry about. You on the other hand sound insecure, friend.

" in this Drama beans article one of the first comments started bashing him as she is his Anti and then another people started to be agree ...as far as I know he doesn't have that much Anti-fans but have some and more after his latest 2 drama's High popularity ... it's not surprise at all..at the End of the day..he is still young & has so much to learn But I believe he will be one of the most appreciated senior actors in Future he has that passionate to learn more & more so don't bother yourself with this kind of people

thank you for your words. I agree completely. Yesterday I was so upset, I couldn't focus. I like dramabeans,it is a positive place so when few bad people ruin it , that makes me sad.
But later I realised, that haters will hate, but its more important for us to love him, and he has loads more fans who adores him, that counts way more than a few antis.
Thanx again, I feel better now, I will just stay with you guys in Soompi, its friendly and safer here!

I just don't understand why people hate LJS so much. Like in the new dramabeans article on WYWS the amount of negative comments about him/his looks/his acting made my head spin with anger. And these haters arrive really early so all the first comments are bashing him
I hope he gets a break, boy works really hard, and its like he is the punching bag fot netizens
Sorry about the rant, I am really mad. He doesnt deserve this hate. Please keep supporting him, Suzy and WYWS

I have been a silent lurker in soompi for a long time, and finally decided to join y'all. Thanx for keeping this thread updated
I adore Suzy since she was only 15, and Sukkie is my fave kdrama actor so I am really excited lol
The thing is while most people anticipate a Park Hae Ryun drama for the plot or interesting characters she writes, I anticipate for the episode titles XD I still cannot get over the titles of I hear your Voice ("you in my hazy memory", "why do bad dreams always come true" etc) so poignant, and subtle. In fact I am a teensy jealous of people who knows korean since so much gets lost in translation.
