    Well it is South Korea. Asking for mental therapy is unfortunately considered taboo in Asian culture, especially for chaebol like them. The parents clearly see that there's something wrong going in SY's head (inferior-aggressive and now schizophreniac). YJ 'having' amnesia makes the parents' life easier. They too were having though period and trauma with kidnapping, let alone have to face the mental issue. Pretty much a picture of a sad family. I hope there will be no silly conflict in the rest of the drama, YJ deserves all happiness after decades of sacrifice!

Like obviously they remember each other etc and she would pick up where they off emotionally, as his wife, but she's also 19 and has parents now.     They can't even go back to the hotel together right after the end scene since people would probably assume something else with her being in a uniform and him being in his thirties. Poor ET/KS, they still have to wait socially to do anything. Despite already having experienced marriage, intimacy, and knowing each other fully, they can't pick up exactly where they left off.

    Just as a side note, I loved the ending. Ever since it aired, I've been going around telling everyone on how it was the right way to end it. This is just a mere thought I had. 

     

    I don't see a problem since she is the goblin bride. Yes they can't go back to the hotel but with the magic door they can go back to have nostalgic moment in KS' house, picnic in buckwheat field, get some tapas in Las Ramblas, coffee in Eiffel Tower, museum date on Florence, or juicy afternoon in Bora-Bora island B) keep on secretly dating till she introduce him to his parents in the age 25, get married at 27, and move to Canada so that her parents will not notice that he doesnt age lol

    I was the one who went into a rage mode after reading the recaps (and thanks for all of the recaps, forgot to say it).

    Now I watched the subs, reading all of the theory (meaningful ending and so on), dive myself into eastern perspective and try to mend myself.

    But still, I FEEL EMPTY.. Indeed it is a very welldone drama, meaningful, indeed it is full of message but boy how I still feel so ache. I lost my parents and grandparents few years ago and the wound is not healed yet. It hurts no matter how many people say "there is a meaning behind something" or "they have had happy life". Loosing hurts in the way that I put empathy to KS (so much). I know there is a wedding and so on but it does not erase the fact that KS need to suffer centuries with pain of losing although it is his own choice to be immortal.

    Pfff.. like KS, it is my choice to watch this drama, the shining and LONELY goblin. 

    Perhaps I am greedy, perhaps a simple Donald Duck material :(

    sorry chingus for the rant.. the ending brings back a ton of painful memory. Kudos for the actors/ers

    What the fudge with ET KS ending? ET will get old and die and the cycle repeat?! KS will still remember every death? Cant Deity show a bit of mercy or respect towards centuries of suffering? Even WY being a blind foolish king killing here and there got a better ending!

    you have maintained your reputation on great story with unsatisfied ending!

    I may have missed this discussion before, but please enlight me:

    1. The casting or the uncanny resemblance between Park Joong Won actor and secretary Kim, is it the wit of the writer/producer so that the audience can keep on suggesting that secKim is the reincarnation from PJW?

    2. They cast pretty much or a bit popular actress as the class president, some of us think that because of that she might have bigger role on this drama in the end. Is this also the wit from the writer/producer?

    I have a feeling that KES drop many many hints here and there but some are just a bait/booby trap ^_^

    Who is the second missing soul that GR WY is looking for? Or is he still looking for it? Is it ET's mom? I am a little bit confuse because from eps 10, I understand that ET's mom is already 'up there'. So I'm guessing ET's mom is not a missing soul anymore.

     

    This part still left me with confusion. There is no formal evidence that she is already up there. That can be the assumption of ET and the ghost friend that she is up there. 

    On the other hand, if she is still missing, GR never talk/ask about ET's mum directly with ET. But how come the drama emphasize the fact that there are still 2 missing souls? A mistake? Unlikely...

    another thing I wish to unfold is the uncanny resemblance of the female grim reaper and female evil eunuch. Was it coincidence (that they have no other female actress?) Unlikely...

    Same here! I am new fan of DH. He is like an onion, got so many layers beneath his cheekiness -just like the actor, Sungjae, whose to my surprise has beautiful voice, Like melted dark chocholate, soft but you can taste the strength.. o boy I am a new fan!- I thought idol can only dance and sing a bit.

    Back to DH..

    I'd like to think that the main pattern of this drama is CLOSURE. All the ghosts vanish once they find closure. Goblin's adventure started with this butterfly and the Goryeo little boy, and as the boy was reborn again, DH here serve as Goblin guardians to provide closure either as deity or as the hand of deity. 

    @hushhh And related to the 'closure', I think it is a good thing that the memory was erased, so that the soul can start the new life and can make a choice for what they will becoming in the next life. If a bad person can still remember their past life, they might not have a new point of view that lead them to the good side and make amend/closure to their previous evil deeds. Perhaps, the evil eunuch was reborn to become the secretary to make amend (like the grandad said, goblin help people to start a new good life)

    @hushhh I personally think that the dancing secretary was the evil eunuch that was reincarnated with different face. This will be an excellent surprise/gesture from the writer. If all reincarnated with exactly the same face, what is the fun? There will be no CSI work like we have been doing so far.

    But now, my heart is aching OH IT HURTS SO MUCH THAT THERE WILL BE ONLY 6 EPISODES LEFT!!!:bawling::bawling::bawling:

    Yep I have expected it as well its gonna be like this. My other heroine, Kim Yuna the ice figure skating was also (speculated as) a victim from the president.     @BoYooMom No I don't have any picture, I just visited BG thread (I could not sleep due to agony, so I kept on checking). BG is also an MC tonight, so I guess he is working so hard for that. Delulu speaking, he couldnot concentrated on his job today since she is worried about his babydoll. As she confirmed that she is getting better and would attend, BG then works extra hard to catch up to practice :P

    Tbh I don't think DH is that cyber-aware although he is chaebol. When he digs ET family data for KS, he cannot get ET's picture because he cannot find her (so that he didnot take a picture of her, LOL):w00t:

    For now Im inclined that DH is deity. His grand-dad also provides hint while speaking to the secretary that the divinity might be closer and be around us (in this context he referred to KS but I take it as a sign from the writer too)

    Oh man, couldn't they find a reason for the Goblin to wear a hat. Wikipedia says the Goblin has a hat, but it makes him invisible, so I guess no.  

    But ET, there is no reason she has to film in that awful weather bareheaded,

    The gondola scene was so odd!

    I have impression that ET cannot summon KS anymore if she blows the candle (might be this relates to the disappearing of goblin mark in her neck)

    I think KS had been waiting in the end of gondola building quite some time. KS supposed to not having ability to determine his position when ET blow the candle, he was just always popping behind her (like in the baskin robbins ice cream scene with DH and GR when ET finished her exam)

    If my feeling is correct then this may explain why she cannot see the sword anymore. Phww are we watching love drama or CSI? So many puzzles!:sweatingbullets:

    Well im sure the actors were pretty protected with that single coat/jacket as the jacket they are using were like minimum 1500 euro each.. not only the PPL, but the high fashion in this series is just... MAMMAMIA :sweatingbullets:

    To be honest, I'm not surprised with this recent wave of YJ trashy news. When she posted the picture in the instagram to support movement against the ex-president I had a feeling that this gonna happen soon or later. Besides, she is loved by many sunbaes and oppas (including idols like TOP or Exos), which can fuel those keyboard bully warrior to ventilate their pathetic life. Her agency did not guard her well either. 

    I can only pray that this young pretty soul can conquer this difficult time. Such a gigantic burden to have as teenagers.  

    I believe the power of God and the power of a woman! So raise your head, princess.. you are always someone's reason to smile! :heart:

    Just wanna put extra 2 cents.

     @liemkopi @WildDivine69 @princesssarang21 (sorry for tagging)

    I am aware that some fellows beg not to 'be part of the witchhunt' with 'circulating bad news'. But I am sure people just wish to ventilate the frustration with other fellows in this spaceship. Bad/untrue news spread more than the truth and they got bigger spotlight. Personally, I am thankful that someone letting me know about those trash so that I can may be help spreading the good news even more (for example, the praise of her sunbaes that unfortunately got undeserved attention. 

    In the other hand, I understand that this is shipper forum, perhaps transferring this kind of discussion is better done in the corresponding actress thread :thumbsup:
