Ep 14 Musings
Random thought as I was eating dinner:
Maybe Chi Hoon's baby arrived early because he and wifey decided not to take their gynae's advice to refrain from conjugal relations in the last week(s) before the due date.
This would make sense plot-wise! And to give that witchy Dr Kim her just desserts.
And naturally, for a couple who had been apart a whole month and lived through a natural disaster and a viral epidemic, how can they be expected to keep their hands away from each other?
Hehehe Nice work, writers. Luv it!
P.S. Apologies in advance if this had already been brought up. I'm not backreading for fear I'd stumble across spoilers for 15-16.

That part got me cracking up the whole night! Hahhaha. So unexpected! I liked the part in ep13 when he was drunk as well, he's so cute when drunk tgth with CPT Korea.
I was just thinking, both the CPT and Sgt Maj need each other in real life and in the army as well. To co relate better. Hahha, I am rewinding the back combing hair part now as I type.
Anyway, it sure was a very sweet and nice moment for this episdoe. What they did is so significant that both countries could come to an agreement. But wow, when I sat the nk soldier got hit in the hotel room, I thought he was dead. What an awesome twist.
I am 100% sure that the company which made the cracker ( it appeared like macaroons to me ) which had a listening device in it sure paid huge advertisement money. The nk guy even wanted to eat it before going off! Such cool project placement.
Why do I think that the storyline is very well thought out? Because a show which is about to end can actually link back to EP 1 is really awesome, shows how much effort and thought is planned in the drafts.
And what sup with the preview. Is somebody dead? I am so sick of my local newspaper printing on front page that CPT is going to die. I mean lol, even the actors refuses to say anythjng, how did all these rumours came about?
DOTS took over my nation's importance of news it seems.
Agree! I enjoyed the NK incident a lot more than Argus's storyline.
Although it was weird for me to hear the dialogue between NK captain and his superior (the real baddie) voice-overed in an American accent in the Chinese subbed version of the episode. Huh? Why they do that?

1. There's still the helipad scene with the wheeled stretcher to be shown....and MY being alone and despondent on the rooftop.
2. Also ost #9 showed MY's hand placing the pebble on a wall....wth is SJ?

He took DY and SJ by surprise too. We will find out in the next episode. Certainly in this one we don't know.

Begging your indulgence: Just want to wax lyrical over Kang Mo Yoen as a character for a bit.
I think she's such an awesome female lead. She isn't a Mary Sue (which I rather find the Captain to be...does he have /any/ flaws?), but she has a lot of self-confidence. And she isn't a perfect epitome of gentility ie she swears, she can be physical (eg threatening to punch Chi Hoon for being a blundering doofus and of course, engaging in that cringing hair-pulling cat-fight), and she's direct. She isn't afraid to admit her insecurity about her lack of presentability after a long shift at the hospital to a nearly just-met Captain Yoo, for instance.
That she can be a tad self-righteous, eg using an idealistic excuse for why a doctor and a soldier have opposing values and therefore are incompatible, as a reason for not continuing to see Yoo is marvellous. She isn't above a bit of self-delusion to cover hurt feelings over being blown off twice. Very human.
(If you cannot tell, I've been rewatching the show but on a different platform to get another set of translations.)
This makes for a damn refreshing heroine, and I would dearly love to find out her back story, what shaped her personality. *side-eye @gilaswan hint hint*
Actually I would like to know the Captain's back story too as he is a cipher to me.

This was exactly what my mum said! I'd only seen Kyo in 'Full House' but my mum has followed her career. (I actually don't watch many K-dramas and hadn't heard of SJK till he appeared in DotS, nor 99% of the names in the business.)

@sanaeozora Hi! Yup! But in the village we used to live, church bells were rung /on/ the quarter or hour before service, not 10 mins past or 5 to. I think it is just a minor production mistake and doesn't really detract from the scene itself. My main gripe is the quick cutaway to the pan shot instead of a close up for the kiss.
