  1. Okay,  now,  I have to apologize  to Manager/Secretary for not having faith that he is a semi-good guy.  Only semi because he did participate in torturing YJ.  :P

Although I, originally,  liked the speed in which they resolved situations, the drama seems to be rushing through the revelations a bit too quickly.  Revealing the paternity  issues, grandfather's kidnapping and rescue, discovery and sharing the news of pregnancy all within one episode is fast.  I  wonder if there is something going on with the production.  Also, grandmother didn't have any scenes in the last couple of episodes.

I think whoever extended their lives would not be so cruel as to let them die if they were parents.  So, they had better get busy in the bedroom to produce a child.

  2. Bad news for Grandpa.  His lawyer sold him out for the bribe from stepmom.  So, he pushed through the conservatorship, which prevented chairman from transferring his shares in the company to YJ.

I rescind my statements about the secretary.  I forgot that he has responsibility in the death of 2023 YJ.  Took him forever to replug her life support machines.

I agree with the rest of you about the speed of the bad being resolved quickly.  I  think it keeps the show 'alive'.

  3. I am having so much fun with this drama.  I  love how the writer has created the Seo family.  With the exception of the eldest son, all the other members have a perspective that is contrary to the usual kdrama families. How they view the world, situations and people is slightly off-center, but so refreshing and, yet, so on target.   They really do think out of the box.  They are are wacky, but good.

The cooking teacher's burn scars confirmed my suspicion that she  is Yi Joo's mother.  So, there will be lots to be revealed soon.

I also think that there's nothing wrong with Grandpa.   I think he is actually  hiding out in the nursing home for his own safety; away from the stepmother.   I  think he knows about the attempted poisoning and much more.  But, he can't do anything about her because she know his dirty secrets and dealings.

As for the secretary, now, being in Yi Joo's camp, he probably wants to be in her 'tent'.  The guy has had feelings for her for a long time.  It's even possible that he has been, surreptitiously, protecting her through the years.  However, she is either ignoring or so naive that she didn't get his innuendo when he said he didn't want money to join her camp.  His reaction to finding out that she knew things about him is so cute.  And, her demonstration of how he looked at favorite painting was hilarious.

We know what is her mission for the one year she's been given.  But, we don't know about his mission, except that it must involve YJ.

  4. This drama should have been titled:

"7 Escapes, War For Survival ... and Cast With 9 Lives"

Dead?  Don't worry.   Be back in a few episodes.  I'm waiting for Dae Mi and Grandpa to show up; with an iced beverage in hand.  And, chatting about which Disneyland ride they liked better.:P

The best scene was when Dae Mi's mother was fighting with K/Matthew.   She was so good when she kicked him in the balls and throwing a tantrum on the sofa.  I think the cast must be having a lot of fun with the ridiculous over the top acting.

  5. Just finished ep. 1.  I'm surprised that one of the subjects received approval from the moral and decency police.  Wow, I want to see the store where mother and daughter went shopping.:o:lol:

Although, the editing of ep 1 did leave a lot to be desired. (Frankly, it was a mess.)  There was one part that looked like it was a scrap, fròm the segment after the director yelled, Cut!  It should have been left on the editing room floor.

As expected, the female leads are wonderful, and totally on target for their respective  role.  Can't say much about the male leads.  We haven't  even seen one of them.  And, we only had a few short scenes of the second male lead.

This drama should be a fun ride.

  6. Thank you so much for starting this thread!  I had been wondering if  the lack of interest in this drama was due to not being able to find the drama streaming anywhere.  even though, the drama is streaming  on Amazon Prime, it isn't widely advertised.  So, it doesn't even show up  on search.

As of now, this is one of the most fun dramas of late.  The metas, the wry jokes that are hidden social commentaries and antics of the oddball characters are totally enjoyable and hilarious.

Acting by the entire cast is strong. Dialog and characterizations are well written.  Even with a subject of vampires, there is no goriness.  The only thing shown are vampire fangs.

  7. @Thong Thin

The Princess witnessed the young Prince confessing that he gave the peach to the former crown prince.  The combination of the peach and the herbal medicine caused his death.  The queen is afraid that the Princess may tell people what she heard from the little  boy.

It was very machiavellian of the Minister to use the little boy to give the peach because this incident will become his blackmail tool to control  the queen and the little boy.   When the boy becomes King, the Minister will control  the King. And, through the King the entire kingdom.

  8. Sergeant and Guardian Warrior is getting less and less screen time.  They are essential to solving the mysteries because they have authority  and freedom to investigate.  Whereas, ML & FL are limited to what they can do and where they can go.

Wonder if the script has changed.  And, the emphasis is, now, heavily focused on solving the dilemma  of the romance triangle.???

  9. Here's something else that should have been  said to ES:

"DG's death was not KJ's fault.  Neither did he instigate the cornea transplant, from DG.  However,  the fact is a part of DG'S body is now in KJ.  So, what do you want to do?  Tear away the one last piece of MRN's father away from her?!  Since you hate and blame YY for DG's death.  You must also hate and blame MRN for DG's death.  If only MRN hadn't  caused pain that day, then, YY would not have called DG.  Then, DG wouldn't have  died. "

The focus, of the conversation,  has now switched to her, instead of on YY and KJ.

You can see how easy it is to change the subject of whatever the bully is screaming about.  This is another tactic to use on bullies.

As for ES, I'll wager she'll be so shocked that she can't answer.  :P

  10. First, I  want to thank everyone for the snippets on each day's episode.  Frankly, I could no longer watch because of ES and DS. I had to restart my blood pressure  medicine because of them.  It was because I couldn't  snap back at them, in such a way they would shut up.

I grew up in an environment with gaggles of people like them.  As a child, I  had  already sworn that I would never be like them.  However,  I was a good student in listening to them.  And, I figured out sassy responses that would stop them in their tracks, for everything they could possibly say. It got to the point where I  could predict what they would say.  I think I was 12 yrs old when I did my first sassy remark.  There was dead silence to my remark because  everything I said was the truth.  (You know how they always tell us to tell the truth.)  My mother tried to hush me.  So, I  said, "What?  Wasn't everything I said true?"  Shrugged my shoulders and immediately  walked out of the room, as if it was no big deal.  (That's one of the secrets.  After making the retort, never stay in the room for them to pick on you.)  My mother was one of those who suffered under those witches.  But, she followed me out to talk to me.  I  told her that if anyone tries to  scold or blame her, just tell them that I told her to tell them to talk directly to me.

From then on, I talked back everytime they started the blaming, scolding, etc.  Verbal bullies are cowards.  They bank on no one disagreeing or stopping themf.  As soon as one person stand up to them, they back off.  Give them an inch, they'll  take a mile, which is why they  can't be allowed to get away with even one hurtful statement.  Of course, they didn't totally changed.  However, it did give them pause before they ran at the mouth.

And, if I was around, they really thought before speaking.  They may still say it, but, not in an insulting or mean way.

I have a retort whenever I hear a MIL say, "Did you learn that from your parents?!  Is that how they taught you?!"  My answer, "Nah, I learned  it all on my own. ".  And , immediately  leave the scene.  If the answer gives them a heart attack ...  Well, better them than me.  :P

For ES, the loss of  DG wasn't so much the loss of a son.  It was that she lost her bragging rights. Bragging rights about her son being a doctor.  Hopefully, a Gangnam doctor, which is why she was unhappy with him being a public health  doctor.  When she was blaming YY for DG's death, I wanted to say, "Yeah, he also wouldn't have died if he had become the priest ES didn't want him to be."

I can't believe how crass and low-class they made the  ES and DS characters. I wonder for what purpose.

As for DS, I  would've told him, that until he gets his life in order, he has no right to say anything about the life of  anyone  else.

Again, thank you for sharing the daily updates.  See you all around soompi.

  11. The way YJ is acting, I would not be surprised if he knew about HH blinding KJ.   For a real twist to the story, maybe he isn't KJ's biological father.

Actually,  I  find it hard to feel sorry for SJ any longer.  He's being such a 'wuss'.  He claims the guilt is torturing him. Yet, he allows anyone to stop him from admitting and paying for his offense.

For all that KJ claims to love SJ, as a brother, he seems to be more obsess with finding dirt on HH than with helping SJ come to terms with his guilt.  He forgot the adage, "The Truth Shall Set You Free".  Knowing how scared SJ was, KJ should have accompanied SJ into the police station, instead of deterring him from entering to tell the truth.

  12. I just watched episode 7 and 8.  Ep 7 gave more back story on all the characters.

Fight scenes and cg's are gorgeously filmed.  So far, the storyline doesn't seem to offer any new creativity.  Still, the thrills and suspense are enjoyable to watch.

Nothing to rave about, but still deserves some fanshipping.:)

  13. Although I've only watched half of the episodes,  I'm thoroughly enjoying this drama.

I think these is a lot of spoof, caricature and meta in the drama.  However,  since I have to rely on English subs, I suspect there is much I'm missing in translation.

Drama is interesting  for bringing up how the same issue is interpreted diametric differently for men versus women.

Acting is on par. Four main characters are the most interesting. With a limitation of ten episodes,  I hope they can give us enough back story on each character.

Drama gave me some ROFL.  In my eyes, they even had a bunch of supporting characters who came out of the same Korean Plastic Surgery Assembly line.  I'm still trying to find the scene where a walk-on actress had a plastic surgery nose like Pinocchio.

  14. My instant gut reaction to EJ marrying Doofus was, "Oh,no!  She's going to have three babies to care for."

So, the idea of having him as a house husband/parent may be the perfect solution.  Taking care of two babies will keep him so exhausted that he wouldn't have time to get into any shenanigans.   :P

Perhaps, he will, then, realize that living requires hard work.   And, his attitude of finding a solution or route that is easiest for him will change.  I can't believe that, instead of searching for a job, his instant solution was for his family to give him an 'internship' at the restaurant.  Couldn't he have applied for a graveyard shift position at the convenience store?

  15. Possible ending?  Maybe ...

As everyone is gathering for the wedding of YY and KJ, HM is secretly spying on the gathering.  In her warped thinking that YY stole what is most precious to her, i.e, KJ, she will steal what is most precious to YY, i.e., Mi RaeNa.  SJ happens to see all this happening  and gives chase.

As they are running down the street, the Truck of Doom is getting closer.  SJ sees the truck and runs to save them.

SJ dies saving them. HM hits her head and looses her memory of her time in the U.S.  She doesn't remember  KJ.

    The end.

    (Don't care about other storylines.):P

  16. Chairman is really the best.  His late-night, soju talk with HH was kind, honest and caring.

Frankly, I think he should marry Housekeeper An and take up permanent residence on a cruise ship, on a round the world voyage.  :P Take back control of the company by hiring professional management to run the company.  Afer revealing all the secrets that he has gathered over the years, leave all the people to figure out their own 'place under the sun'.

Make it possible  for the cast of characters to work for the company.  They each can manage a 24 hr. convenience store. :joy:

Characters that I want to delete:  Both sisters-in-law, HH, Bio-father and, especially, DS.  DS is an total waste of earth's limited resources.

  17. There's  something odd about the SD actor.  In dramas that I've  seen him in, albeit not many, he is always acting as a support character, and never wins the affection of the girl.  I wonder if acting is even his career or livelihood.   Perhaps, his real job is to just handle business for his sister, Chae Rim.

This is the only drama that I  know  of him being the lead and got the girl.

    https://youtu.be/CtaPOCrBQjY

Many dramas require a dose of 'suspension of disbelief '.  This drama doesn't  even make a pretense of creating credibility.  This drama must be coursework  for "Basic 101 Daily Drama Writing".  (Adding credibility to the script is in course 102.)

I still can't  get over the tedious machinations they went through to prove the mother and daughter relationship, when DNA results are available within days.

After all, how many times can a person be withered just becausethe bad guy(s) glared at them?

I thank everyone for sharing tidbits on the episodes.  Frankly, I am not watching every episode; just the ones that interest me, after reading your comments.
