Spoilerhe decided to abandon the city. CC went to force her mom to abdicate, and then learned that HS already switched out all her guards and surrounded the palace. That's when he came in and they had the showdown. This is what led to his imprisonment and the "doing the deed" part.

Spoilerhow easily Han Shuo accepted QQ's explanation. I feel like his concept of a "script writer" is similar to a "deity" that creates life. That's why he said "maybe your world is also a script that someone wrote" - that's a very close concept to how deities/"higher beings" creating life etc.
In any case, I also agree, when you love and trust someone, you'll just go with it hahaha since she already decided to stay with him, it makes little difference to him whether she's a drama writer or a fairy.
I know there have been minor plot holes here and there that were minor enough that I didn't notice unless I squint, but the last few episodes have had some pretty noticeable plot holes. They didn't diminish my enjoyment in any way, I was just a bit surprised since the drama has been pretty good about plot holes so far (a lot of them were basically written off as QQ being a bad writer and constructing her world with plot holes haha). For example:
SpoilerDidn't Han Shuo place guards around the queen's palace and not let anyone in? How did CC get in eventually to force her mom to give her the city owner throne?
And Pei Heng, he just needed to slash down one soldier and they all obeyed him?
Speaking of Pei Heng, I do appreciate that like many characters in the show, he has his own arc of development. The downside of that is that we got too much of his screen time in the last few episodes lol I maintain that the character is dull and the actor is also the weakest link in a great cast, but I always enjoy his harem/palace-drama fight with Han Shuo.
I'm rewatching early episodes with my friends now and just realized they constructed Han Shuo fighting for QQ's affection like it was a palace drama: he had to fight for her attention with Pei Heng the childhood sweetheart, warded off an aggressive "potential concubine" in Meng Guo, got blamed unjustly by the cunning "concubine" Yingying LOL all of their arguing scenes really reminded me of a funny gender-reverse version of harem dramas like Yanxi palace haha.
So apparently Intense Love is releasing an epilogue tomorrow which is like a mini-story in an alternate universe where Yuxi is the actor and the FL is the doctor (reversed role from the original). Based on Yuxi's hair, they filmed it recently or at least much later after the main drama finished filming, likely because of the drama's popularity? I hope this means TROTAR could also get something similar because

If there is a season 2, I hope they won't use the same tactic as The eternal love S2 where the FL lost her memory and they're in the same story world. I know I said I'm ok with amnesia as long as they make fun of it, but we'd just be recycling old dynamics. I'd prefer they explore their relationship in the real world, maybe Han Xin Ming trying to figure out who he really is, HXM or HS or a combo of both, OR keeping the same character traits for both HS & QQ, but they would be in a new story world.

I think LS has a rare quality in which she can be funny, cheerful and cheeky without being annoying. Her role in LBTI is an exception.
I can picture YX playing darker, more macho role. I hate saying this, but he still looks a bit green to me. He might need to add some tone and muscle for more complex role. Shall he nailed it, it would be awesome, I think!

none of her previous dramas interested me I'm excited for her future projects though!
Agree also re YX. He's like Dylan Wang in that he's a bit green but is full of charisma! I don't think darker means more macho, but I can see him playing cunning roles very well.
Vietsub for this drama caught up with all eps yesterday! I still can't bring myself to watch ep 18 but now that 19 is here, maybe I can ff through 18 to "fast forward this plot" like QQ did (by pretending to be drunk in an earlier ep lol).

It's on YouTube as well I believe. This drama was ok, I dropped it because I couldn't get behind the FL's brand of cute (nothing against her, just not my style. She's very popular so it works for many! She's in an idol competition right now and also very popular there, though some also feel like me, that's she's a bit cloying.)
This is why I find Lusi so impressive. How can she be so cute without cloying?? I find her very naturally adorable with charisma to boot!
Was looking at Yuxi's previous dramas and I think he's been exclusively playing the perfect boyfriend in all of them
(except for New smiling wanderer). Han Shuo must have been a fun role for him, he has a little bit of a dark side even if all he indirectly killed was a horse. I hope he gets more complex roles in the future! His face is very versatile, can be both evil and sweet!

I think it was his wig that did him dirty. His character and charisma/charm definitely made him look better and better to me, but I also changed my mind once I saw him with normal hair. What a difference a hairstyle makes! He suits wavy long hair or sharp short hair much better, not the weird low-hairline-with-back-braids style they gave him here.

But I think PH is quite a pitiful character, maybe he did love QQ but only realised it too late.

The ending: Just like most of us predicted that HS is the actor and he was also in the script. LOL no wonder HS is different from the script because it was our actor. Now I want to see the actor side when he got stuck in the script and what was going on in his head. I really love this drama and the ending was pretty satisfying. Sigh it will be difficult for season 2 with the story.
My mandarin is limited so now I have to wait for subs.
These two episode just makes my heart so warm and fluffy.
Also, in the live DYX makes peach juice from tonight live lol. I LOVE IT. DYX as HS is like a gift in the midst of chaos.

Interesting things in there:
1) The first kiss scene they filmed is actually the one at the storage room!
2) In an earlier version of the costume YX wore for the dress ripping scene, he was wearing a backless costume. He said it was cold.
3) Filming took 2 months
4) He is open to season 2 if original cast is willing to return
5) He believes HS was a kind person before he got sick, but after he got sick his personality changed because of the stress of living with the knowledge he will die before he's twenty without medicine. He thinks the reason why he became a much better person is because QQ cured him way earlier without him asking for it (in the original, he didn't get the medicine until he took over the city).
6) HS's new career is to do what ever required to make his wife as successful as possible.
7) He had one chance to get the bean cake scene right because they only had 3 pieces, one piece for close up, one piece for far shot, one piece for medium range shot. (haha can't believe they didn't even bother getting an extra piece for backup)
8) He said if anyone thinks QQ loves more than just HS in the show, they should go watch the show more carefully, because if you watch it carefully you would sea while she cares for other people, there's only one person she really loves

I love his intelligent take on the character. It makes sense! Someone with a one track mind to survive and blaming God for his fate (like Han Shuo admitted himself to QQ) would act the way he did before being cured. And exactly someone like that would be melted by a girl's seemingly random kindness (we know it's not random lol but he doesn't!)
Someone on another forum complained that HS only started liking QQ after she saved him which confused me because that's a perfectly good reason, no?

Someone said this in the AvenueX discord thread for TROTAR and I thought it was spot on: "all characters have consistent motivations and traits - they are all nuts and out there but they are consistent. all characters are acting from a set of beliefs and understandings of the situations they are in - which happen to be wrong all the time."
