So Ji-sub and Shin Min-a to star in KBS TV drama

 

 

Actors So Ji-sub and Shin Min-a will pair up in upcoming KBS TV drama “Oh My God (working title).”

“Oh My God” will be a Monday-Tuesday show, featuring a couple who fall in love at a gym. The show’s production team described it as a first-of-a-kind Korean “Health-healing rom-com.”

Male lead So will act the role of sought-after personal trainer Kim Young-ho, who has endured painful times despite his affluent background.

Shin will act the competent but badly out-of-shape lawyer Kang Joo-eun.

This will be So’s return to the small screen in two years since the SBS’s 2013 production, “Master’s Sun,” and Shin’s in three years after MBC’s 2012 work, “Arang the Magistrate.”

The two star actors have previously worked together for an apparel brand’s commercial. Their romantic chemistry in the upcoming show is to be anticipated.

Meanwhile, Shin has recently confirmed her relationship with actor Kim Woo-bin, who is also set to star in an upcoming rom-com show “Uncontrollably Fond” along with Lee Min-ho’s girlfriend Suzy.

“Oh My God” is currently pressing with casting with projected date of airing in November.

Today there are many articles referring Oh My God. On allkpop.com, after the basic information for this upcoming drama, at the end the reporter added:

'Oh My God's side also got us excited by stating, "It will be a reality melodrama that hasn't been seen in this country yet. Look forward to So Ji Sub and Shin Min Ah."

Would you like to know why Sado's director insisted on inviting our SJS for the cameo role? In this article, the nice man explained:

 

 

Director Lee said casting Jisub was the most difficult. With such cast as Song Kang-ho, the best among contemporary actor, and Yoo Ah-in, the most representative younger generation actor, it was difficult to cast an actor to decorate the epilogue. Lee said, "(I) tried several times, Jisub thought that with impactful actor Song Kang-ho as the traction of the film, he would have a lot of pressure to appear at the end."

Yet the director tried a few more times, and Jisub finally agreed, with one condition: he would receive NO pay. This is really rare for top actors. "If he agrees to appear, I would pay as much as he wished, because the character Jeongjo is very important. However, he was hesitated if he's appropriate for the role, and he wanted to do it without any pay. This is very rare."

The director not only discovered Jisub's necessity for the role, but he was also touched by Jisub's personality, and his passion and attitude for acting.

 

 

"Before he's a good actor, he's a good man. At my age, I've seen so many people, and I can tell from experience, knowing what persons they are. Jisub was fully focused during shooting, he's a man with integrity".

Then, why it must be So Jisub? Director Lee explained, "Song and Yoo were the tractions for two thirds of the film, and they died before the end. It has to be someone who's powerful enough to decorate the epilogue. Jisub's acting, especially that of his eyes, qualify him for the role".

SBS "TV News At Night" reported about So Ji-sub and Sin Min-ah in the drama "Master's Sun" in 2013.

Kong Hyo-jin had said, "The intimate scenes are so cheesy". So Ji-sub on the other hand, said, "I enjoy this intimacy".

So Ji-sub was monitoring a scene where he holds Sin Min-ah and said, "Maybe I should have put my hand under her clothes".

Meanwhile, So Ji-sub is coming back with the romantic comedy "Oh My God" which is about a man and a woman falling in love while going on a diet.

The charismatic man's bittersweet tears

 

Because of his mourning cameo, King Yeongjo, Highcut magazine released a larger image of SJS fives year ago.  This issue of the magazine was taken in July 2010, only photos, no interview included.

It's said back then: "His best friend committed suicide on 30 of June 2010, he cancels all of his personal schedule but as a" commitment "actor So Jisub in this group of photos was taken on July 9 as scheduled."

In the first shot, So Jisub was failing to hide his sad look. In this photo set, he did not say a word nor a smile from the start to finish. When the photos set was published to public 2 months later, viewers were so touch by his superb moist eyes while the man was trying to find some peace in his summer vacation. This picture was one of the best portrayal of it.

SO JISUB Tree

My dear friends,

I’ve happened to know there is this user on the internet with nickname @lonelytree. This amazing guy has posted 19.9K photos so far on his Instagram account. They are all about a lonely tree in all kind of landscapes, days or nights, in all seasons around the world.

This man’s passion reminds me of a special tree on Jeju Island, also a lonely tree. That is So Jisub Tree.

The tree where actor So Jisub marked his present once in 2009 was dearly named after him. The love fans giving him was so awesome and as vast as the open place on this romantic island. Have you been touch, my man?

 

How many SJS trees are there?

 

To my surprise, there are two SJS trees in total, both on Jeju Island.

The first one was recognised as the one which Sony CF 2009 Campaign  started at Kim Young Gap Gallery. The second SJS tree is the big one where many birds flying off while actor So Jisub captured pictures continuously by his Sony Alpha 550.

 

SJS Tree One

Mr Kim was a talented photographer whose love for Jeju's nature was so impressive in his exhibition "I Was There at That Island". He passed away in 2005 at 50 years old by a rare disease (Lou Gehrig or ALS) after building his own gallery.

As plan, actor So Jisub visited Kim's Gallery to film.

 

 

The man walked into the show room, his eyes were pulled toward one picture of a lonely tree.

 

 

He was amazed at its beautiful shape and found himself wandering on the oreums to observe by his own eyes. It is out on the Pyeongwha-ro near the Castlex golf course. In front of Nuun Oreum, it grows alone.

 

 

 

SJS Tree Two

 

On Jeju travel blog, people wrote:

If you are driving on the Bijarim-ro towards the 5.16 road and Saryeoni Forest Trail from the direction of the Gyorae-ri intersection then you'll pass the Samdasoo Ranch on your right-hand side.

Here in 2009 the actor did a commercial for the Sony A550.

Making this scene, people gathered on the field before dawn. Dews stilled hanging at the top of the grass and the birds were sleeping in their warm nests somewhere. Nature refreshed people.

 

 

Soon the sun rose on Jeju's Serengeti

 

 

Wandering with his Sony camera, actor SJS also shined along the morning sun

 

 

A vigorous tree caught his eyes.

 

 

In his approaching to it, even with as much noise as dropping his accessories bag, he caused a cloud of birds rising from the tree. The flapping wings sounded nice in the thin air but not as special as his speedy camera. 7 pictures were captured in 2 seconds.

 

 

The photographer seemed content of his work. At that moment, he never knew he had presented to the world a living memento of him - The So Jisub Tree.

 

 

 

 

 

My dear friends, this time last year our dears Olang and Sara62 worked so hard on SJS's birthday project. I couldn't believe that they would never show up again...  

This is one of the sweet memories of them. My girls, thank you for everything!

Thanks for the updates Mathi.......just realized that it must be a very sad movie. His sad face in Sado reminds me to General Ari in Thousand Years Of Love. 

But ofcourse Jisub's role at TYOL is more interesting  there are many mischievous, bad and sweet side of Kang In Chul. At first I hated Kang In Chul. He is not a gentleman in my eyes. Totally different from his role in Glass Shoes, my cute super hero. But then I fell in love with KIC. He made me laugh a lot. Very funny but sweet.  I often wondered which one is the most similar to SJS personality?  

The kid actor's face is very similar to Young SJS . But ofcourse Young Jisub nim  more sweet & cute...look at his smile...who doesn't fall in love with that sweet little kid

I wrote something about this drama too, just liked a little fan girl gushing over her Idol (Actor So Jisub) You awesome work made me understand deeper into the tragic war and how normal people turn out during their journey of war.
