I'm so excited with the next week's character! Yesshhh! Kim Woo Hyun from Phantom/Ghost! This is my second favorite Korean drama of SJS. So much love to this because it was such an awesome series! Especially SJS's role!!!

Kim Woohyun/Ghost
Well, when we talk about the drama Ghost Kim Woohyun, we are dealing with two Kim Woohyun(s) who are very different actually. Although their fundamental character traces are similar. 
This Kim Woohyun/the real one/pre-surgery is a very hard working man who firmly believes in police force, morality, his duty and is very dedicated to what he is doing. He is very disciplined, well-mannered, gentleman and manly. He also has a secret crash on his young co-worker whom he once saved from a dangerous/deadly situation. He can be as mysterious as having a child without anyone knowing about it. Or as transparent that can investigate his father's corruption or question his old friend's words. This is Kim Woohyun pre-surgery. 
On the other hand, we have Kim Woohyun/the fake one/ post surgery
On the surface he is opposite the real Woohyun. Well, he is not that disciplined and well-mannered. He can easily eye his co-worker's food.

Or gets tired of real Woohyun's boring wardrobe.

Or drinks alcohol ignoring the fact that real Kim Woohyun never did it.



Or doesn't care that the way he organizes his table might reveal his identity.

Or loosens his necktie as soon as he enters real Kim Woohyun's office.

But if you take a closer look, They both care about saving people. About fighting the evil and about their co-workers. They both are brave enough to risk their life for what they believe wholeheartedly. And in the end the fake Kim Woohyun clears real Kim Woohyun's name, saves his father and child, takes the responsibility of a life he has never imagined it would exist and reaches to a point that like real Woohyun becomes a police officer who firmly believes in police force, morality, his duty and gets very dedicated to what he is doing.

So, what we can do but admiring Jisub-nim for playing the role so distinctively, excellently and professionally that you ask yourself through the drama "what real Woohyun would have done in this situation?" and feel sad that he is dead. What about both of them in the drama!

I just want to share that this drama Phantom/Ghost really inspired me to be a detective. I told my parents about me becoming a detective and they're really against it because I'm their only daughter. But I still want to pursue it... hahahaha! SJS has become a BIG INFLUENCE in my life.



I don't know what's SJS secret on bringing the character so well. I would imagine him typing so fast and doing troubleshooting and hacking with the computers. He's like a real cyber crime detective here. Like what @sara62 said, what would the real Woo Hyun do. I think he'll do what Park Gi Young plans to do either way. They both want justice and answers to their curiousness. And I really think that it's better that way, one died. There would have been a love triangle if ever both Park Gi Young and Kim Woo Hyun lives.







The way SJS played his role here is just so perfect. Like WOW. He's just so amazing here. When I watched this drama, I was focused on the characters not on him really. But there's this side of me that says, "Oh God, look at that beautiful face!!!" then it sinks to me, "Oh God, he's So Ji Sub, he's so freaking handsome!!!" Then focus on watching the series again. Hahaha!!

12.2 Kim Woohyun/Ghost
My favorite Kim Woohyun moments #1
You know fake Woohyun aka Park Gi young is not that emotional. He doesn't really care about the romance and enjoys teasing his young co-worker. He can get very serious. But has a kind of cute humor in his behavior that real Woohyun lacked. Still, even if he is working in the cyber investigation unit for a short time, he feels attached to the people around him. He is an emotional, kind guy inside. I particularly love this scene. Where his eyes are filled with tears while he looks at detective Han's photo in his funeral. Those are not just sad eyes. As if he is saying "I'm going to get revenge. I'm going to reveal the truth. I'm going to get the evil. Just wait. " Only Jisub-nim's eyes can talk like that. (I miss him...just...like crazy)

I know we have seen this scene before and each time my heart breaks in pieces. But seeing it as a GIF like this, it feels much more painful. Writer-nims, can you please not kill him in his future projects. 


After rewatching Ghost, I'm rewatching Cain and Abel. It was very painful when I first saw the scene he was shot in the desert and called out his brother's name. You know what will be happening in the drama. You know he won't die. You know it's a happy ending. Yet the pain of watching/rewatching him hurt, dead, bloody and suffering never lessens. If anything, you feel sadder each time.

I'm with you @sara62. After more than two long years of agony waiting for his comeback drama from military service, I was deliriously happy in anticipation to watch Cain and Abel as soon as it was available in the internet but alas episode 1 was painfully heartbreaking and mind boggling. WHAT?! WHY?! I was asking myself could this be another WHIB or MISA?! Anyway, after a roller coaster ride with so many intense emotions on the succeeding episodes, it was a happy ending. I could say one my favorite among SJS dramas although I love them all.
