Cast: Oguri Shun, Mizushima Hiro, Yomini cooperaka Yuriko

Synopsis: Takakura Sou (Oguri Shun) is an elite detective with the New York police force. Ever since he saw his father murdered before his eyes when he was in elementary school, he moved to New York where the murderer was, and became a detective with the intention of arresting the culprit someday. He has good knowledge of military-trained combat but is also a rigid person. Although he is always impassive and critical regarding his work, he is, by nature, kind and gentlemanly. On the other hand, Kudo Maruo (Mizushima Hiro) who belongs to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Special Investigation Division, is an expert in combat sports such as karate, judo, and taekwondo because he used to be a motorcycle gangster. Hot-blooded, warm-hearted and with an interest in dating parties … These two men with completely different characters, investigation methods as well as tastes in women, meet one day in New York because of a case … The murderer that Takakura has been in pursuit of all this while is involved in a drug ring. Takakura takes command of close to 100 investigators and Kudo also rushes over from Japan to back him up in the investigation. There is a person left alone at the scene. She is Matsunaga Yuki (Yomini cooperaka Yuriko), who should know the heart of the matter, but has lost her memory because of acute shock. Back in Japan, Takakura continues with his investigation into the case in Japan, and keeps Yuki company together with Kudo. However, once she recovers her memory, the unhappy past that is gradually revealed, strains the relationship between the trio.

Big news for all Oguri Shun fans, the 26 years-old actor is going to have the starring role in Fuji TV’s next Monday-09pm dorama "Tokyo DOGS ~Worst and Best Partners~" that’s starting in October.

It’s the first time ever that Fuji TV is going to air an original police dorama in their most prestigious time slot for doramas. Oguri will play an elite cop from the New York Police Department, but as the title already suggest, he won’t be working alone. His partner who experienced a sudden rise from being a delinquent to being a detective at the police headquarter is going to be played by Mizushima Hiro (25), yet another very popular young ikemen actor. Fuji TV is already counting with quite some high ratings and there is no reason why they shouldn’t.

Let’s look at some more detailed infos about their roles. Oguri’s role is an elite detective at the NY Police Department who originally has been working in the military. However, at work he seems to be calm and serious and not able to make use of his flexibility. He is coming to Japan and will work together with the Japanese Metropolitan Police Department in a joint operation in order to bust some large-scale drug dealings that are happening at the moment. He is going to work together with a detective from the Special Investigation Division, played by Mizushima.

Mizushima is a martial expert who used to be a delinquent and in a biker gang himself. He has a really hot-blooded character with a lot of hobbies that even intensify his cool and strong image, an unusual new role for Mizushima. Those 2 different personalities will have no other choice but to work as partners which is going to cause some really interesting negotiations, not to mention that great "buddy vibe" that is hopefully going to attract a lot of viewers.

Oguri himself is already quite excited about this dorama, "With such amazing coactors, I can’t help but being excited right from the beginning." Mizushima too, "It’s my first Monday-09pm dorama and I can’t wait to show a totally new side of me."

With two amazing actors such as them, is there even room enough for a heroine role? Rest assured, no other than the quickly rising Yomini cooperaka Yuriko (21) is going to take up that challenge and will play a very important key figure to all the events taking place in the dorama. Yomini cooperaka is just as excited as the other male leads. "I'm so nervous and excited that I'm shivering right now. I'd like to take advantage of this nervousness and use it as an impulse to dash forward."

Mizushima Hiro Quits Acting to Write

o5otuh.jpg

Popular young actor Mizushima Hiro (26) is giving it all up to be a writer, according to the Sankei Sports newspaper. Mizushima's former management at Kenon Group acknowledged the report, saying that he had quit the agency. They said his interest in novels and other forms of writing was something he had made known for some time. Mizushima started working as a model while a student at the prestigious Keio University in Tokyo. His breakthrough as an actor came when he landed the lead role in the action hero TV series "Kamen Rider Kabuto." He most recently worked on the manga adaptation movie "Beck," which is scheduled for release this month.

Kenon also represents Mizushima's wife, singer Ayaka (22). Though she is on an extended sabbatical as she battles with Graves' disease, her husband's decision doesn't affect her existing contract. The couple tied the knot in February of 2009.

^^ NOOO. I'm going to miss him so much. Although I haven't been following him lately, it will be sad to know that I will never see him in new movies or drama. He definitely made a mark in my Jdorama experience, from Hana Kimi to Absolute Boyfriend to my favorite Mei-chan.

I wish him the best of luck in his writing career. Maybe he will write a book in English. lol
