What is the difference between a boy band and a boy group? Boy band = TVXQ and Boy group = SuJu?

Groups like N*Sync and Backstreet Boys are technically boy bands. They are called as such by, well, the media and everyone else. But they usually don't play instruments, as least not when performing, you see.

If FT Island is more like, say, Fall Out Boy, then you would just call them a band. If you wanted to be more specific, you would include the music genre, like alternative rock band, or punk band. But once you attach 'boy' in front of band, they become something like TVXQ.

Labels get a little weird in the music industry. If someone wants to correct something I've said or add to it, go right ahead.

that's exactly how i feel! i'm noona to all of them...and i absolutely LOVE wonbin and hongki! it makes me sad that they are so young.

anyways..i really can't wait for their debut. i loved their show on mnet. they're all really talented and i know they're going to do amazing well.
