Guest kdramafanusa
So far, i'm not impressed with any Malaysian or Chinese version of Korean drama for their English sub. Until then, i'm sticking with only the US and Korea based distributor. Hi GenDaVinci, some of the ones from Korea (especially SBS) are not very impressive as well; considering their prices, we have to do our research before buying them. Do you remember the brands of the Malaysian/Chinese sets that you bought? I have heard some good comments about sets released by Innoform (Singapore) and PMP (Malaysia). It would be nice if we have a list of authentic brands. It's so sad to see so many bootlegs being sold everywhere.

Guest Gummi Bear
Wow, $107.99 (and that's the discounted price already) for Winter Sonata! I know the OST is included but that sure is expensive considering I bought it a month a go from Barnes and Noble for about $72. Dvdfromkorea.com is expensive! Is Bitwin better than YA Entertainment? Is their subtitles that superior and their packaging so gorgeous that is why the prices are so high? If it is I might consider buying from them. Korean versions are more expensive than US & Asian versions, their packagings/designs are nicer though. Plus, they usually come with special features (mostly unsubbed). The English subtitles of Bitwin are rated fairly high by members here, but YA Entertainment is possibly the best.

Hi kdramafanusa, thanks for the info. If their special features are unsubbed I feel good about my Full House Director's Cut from YAE since they subbed the special features. I should be getting my hands on it soon from Scarecrow

Guest Gummi Bear
GummiBear, most of the YAE's older DVD sets didn't come with special features. They just started having them not too long ago. =) I notice that, I was very tempted to buy My Girl which is on sale right now, but I didn't see any special features such as bloopers, BTS or cast interviews etc. So I will probably wait for a version that will have those things. I don't want to buy it without those special features since its not cheap buying these series.

She also wrote Goodbye Solo and More Beautiful Than A Flower. Thunderbolt, is Solitude a must-have set? I shouldn't ask, I have a long list of dramas/movies to watch. Hehee... Agree with you that the price is very good. Bitwin is re-releasing some of these titles, I wonder if there'll be more coming up. I notice that, I was very tempted to buy My Girl which is on sale right now, but I didn't see any special features such as bloopers, BTS or cast interviews etc. So I will probably wait for a version that will have those things. Guest kdramafanusa
can anyone tell me the quality of the subs and the picture/audio/etc of the drama Ireland under the KDT America release?? This release is from MBC America, it's manufactured & distributed by KDT America. I read that the English subs are excellent. According to HKFLIX.net, it has 105 minutes of "Making Of" & KDT (Korea Digital Tech) is a US-based distributor.
Guest thunderbolt
Thunderbolt, is Solitude a must-have set? I shouldn't ask, I have a long list of dramas/movies to watch. Hehee... Agree with you that the price is very good. Bitwin is re-releasing some of these titles, I wonder if there'll be more coming up. Well, kdramafanusa, I don't have mainstream taste and tend to go for the really underrated stuff. But Noh Hee Kyung is my favorite kdrama writer and I love her work. Here's an extract from my Solitude/Godok review which I posted in the Ryu Seung Beom thread: And so begins this drama that is inappropriately titled Loneliness but is really about the opposite: companionship. It is about family and shared journeys, and overcoming the prejudices that divide us and make us cowardy and wretched. It is about being big-hearted instead of small-minded, about embracing all the trials that life throws at us with courage and optimism, choosing to live one day at a time instead of focusing on the end of the road. It is about being loved so fiercely, so unconditionally, that you know one day of happiness is worth 15 years of heartache... If you are not in a hurry, if you enjoy how a story unfolds instead of how it ends, then I recommend Godok. It's very slow and some people may find it too bleak and draggy but I love it... I finished Godok last night and miss it already. The subs are excellent for this set, btw.

Guest thunderbolt
i also would like to inquire about magic with kang dong won how is the subs for the sbs version of it on yesasia.com? The subs for Magic are pretty good. I posted some screencaps with subs in the Magic thread. There are occasional typos and grammatical errors but nothing major to mar your viewing. Guest kdramafanusa
does anyone know if 1% of anything was ever released on dvd w/ english subs? Hi sl33p1n6b34uty, you are welcome; all of us are here to help each other. "1% of Anything" was never released with English subtitles. The English subbed version being sold on the market is not original, lots of fans complained about the terrible subtitles. This bootleg version originated from the official release in Japan (Japanese subtitles only); I believe there's an official version for Taiwanese market as well. Thunderbolt & I like KDW so we should be able to help out on questions related to him. do they only have dvds for dramas? no like sitcoms cause i really want to get unstoppable high kick but i dont know if it was ever on DVD TT babyxshh, Unstoppable High Kick's available on DVD without English subtitles. Vol. 1 Vol. 2 Vol. 3 Well, kdramafanusa, I don't have mainstream taste and tend to go for the really underrated stuff. But Noh Hee Kyung is my favorite kdrama writer and I love her work. Here's an extract from my Solitude/Godok review which I posted in the Ryu Seung Beom thread: The subs are excellent for this set, btw. Thunderbolt, thanks for replying & reposting the review for Solitude. I noticed that we like some similar dramas & stars so we have the same taste. Excellent subs sound tempting; I have so many unopened DVD sets at home to go through..... Did you pick up M?
