Hayami Mokomichi to release his second recipe book

Actor Hayami Mokomichi will be releasing his 2nd recipe book, “MOCOmeshi~Kimi wo Egao ni suru Ryori (temporary title)”, on May 19th.

Hayami, who is known as a good cook, released his 1st recipe book back in July 2010, and now, he will release a 2nd edition. In his book, about 50 original recipes will be included, and they are well-balanced, colorful menus. Moreover, he will introduce his favorite spices and cookwares in the book. Hayami said, “This is my 2nd recipe book, and it’s filled with my gratitude and love. I hope it will suit the readers’ palate.”

To celebrate the release of the book, he will hold fan events on May 8th in Osaka and the 15th in Tokyo.

It was also announced that he will have his own cooking corner, “moco’s kitchen“, during the new morning show, “ZIP!” (Mon – Fri at 5:50~8:00 am), which will start on April 1st. He will appear in the show every day and make dishes and sweets which the viewers request. Hayami also commented about this, “I started cooking because I liked it, but I have never thought that I could have a corner.”

As tokyohive reported previously, he will also appear in upcoming drama “Rebound” as a patissier. The year of 2011 is certainly shaping up to be a cooking year for him.

He studied at OB Montessori in Green Hills, San Juan, Metro Manila...

that pic was from his teacher in kindergarten (field trip in OB Montessori)...his name back then was Mokomichi Omote and I talked to his former teacher and she replied that Moco studied in OB Montessori and his teacher talked with Mocomichi's mom from Parents-Teacher conference, who is really a Filipina. His birthdate on the teacher's record is August 10, 1984. so that means, it's him. I will ask if there are more pictures of him when he was a kid...

I can see the resemblance in the pic.. Having a second thought, I feel certain that the pic was taken way before he was even born. Judging from the quality of the pic, it looks like it was taken somewhere in 70's but I could be wrong anyway...

Can hardly wait for another collaboration with Saki!! got to add my DVD compilation...

Hayami Mokomichi holds a fan event, “Precious Time 2011″

Actor Hayami Mokomichi held a fan event “Precious Time 2011” at Jiji Tsushin Hall on May 15th, and he received an interview by the reporters before the event.

At the interview, Hayami revealed how he started to like cooking, “I had seen my brother cooking often since my parents were busy, and also, I thought that men who could cook might be popular with girls.” He also said that he is recently into making sweets such as Mont Blanc, and he would like to treat it for his lover or friends someday.

Hayami is currently playing a role of Patissier in the ongoing drama “Rebound“, and is making an appearance on his own cooking corner on morning show, “ZIP!” He will also release his second recipe book, “MOCOmeshi~Kimi wo Egao ni suru Ryori“, on May 19th.

The book will contain about 54 recipes, all of which are Hayami’s favorites. Since he stated that men who can cook are popular with girs, he was asked if there was any episode in which he could feel the popularity. Hayami answered with a smile, “I have been called out a lot more than before. One time, I was caught by many aunties in Osaka. They screamed and touched many parts of my body.”

“Precious Time” is the fan event which Hayami holds annually, and a total of 640 fans were in attendance. At the event, there was a talk show, a handshake segment, and there was also an “impromptu cooking recipe” corner in which Hayami made cooking recipes by listening to the audience’s requests.
