Korean actress Park Shin-hye plans to opena “Shin-hye Center” in Manila to supportneedy children.

According to Park’s agency, S.A.L.T. Entertainment, construction will becompleted by October. The long-termproject aims to help destitute childrenthrough educational activities.

Park’s support for needy children started inMay 2011, when she volunteered in Ghanafor nine days as a goodwill ambassador ofnon-profit organization Korea Food for theHungry International (KFHI). During the trip, she met Abanna, 5, who had malnutrition. Park played the role of a “mother” during thevolunteering and helped the girl and otherchildren take baths, eat healthy food and goto school.

The first “Shin-hye Center” was built inGhana in December 2013. It includes a library and a playground, and provideseducational programs. The Philippinescenter will have similar services.

Park stars in popular TV drama “Doctors” onSBS.
