Hello everyone, it's been awhile I haven't been here, I was so busy. Hope everyone is well.

Don't be sad chingu. It's a fierce competition when it comes to these awards and the rating is also the main factor. Some of amazing actresses/ actors like Kim Ha Neul,  Kim Hye Soo, Kim Tae Ri, Jo Jong Suk, Han Seok Kyu, Ha Jung Woo,Yoo Hae Jin, Kwak Do Won, Lee Byung Hun,... didn't win either but they all showed up except Han Seok Kyu, he is busy filming his movie rn. As many already said, it is an honor just to be nominated. So cheer up. She'll get her chance to shine.

But Shin Hye shined today though her demeanor was a bit subdued. She was carrying a heavy burden of honoring the dead and aomeone who ahe came to love like a real grandma. It was just right and understandable that she is not her usual chirpy aelf. Being invited to this event means Baeksang thinks her presence is important and also a crowd drawer. For her assgnment today, she was dressed just right. Ahe is lovely, elegant and conservatively dressed. It reminds me of her attire when attending a wedding. She dressea simply and try not to take the limelight from the bride. Shin Hye is still young, there are ao many more chances. Let us keep supporting her

S.A.L.T is doing an excellent job managing Shin Hye. Shin Hye is Korean, but Korea is Shin Hye, to many around the world. I believe what God gives you, no men can take away from you.! Bigger things are coming for her, with bless of God. I found this article by chance. I am not sure,  if it is a trustable media, but I am posting because I agree about the  male "violent " or forceful way , to approach the female, in Korea dramas. I am aware the actors are following an script. But, why written that way? It is appealing? That the way viewers like it? Are the viewers, most concerned with the youngsters,  differentiate the real from reel?!?  These can only happen in dramas, never to allow anyone to be or threat that way?!? Just wonder! What is your input?

An organization called Amnesty International Korea has studied Kdrama themes and scenes, especially the romantic ones and they came up discovering that Kdrama contents were unacceptable and has violent themes.

 

 

Here are some samples of scenes they described as violent in which the male character forcefully grabbing a female character’s wrist and pulling her along with him, unexpectedly kissing her without prior consent, or loudly shouting at her.

With this concern, Amnesty International and IZE Magazine collaborated to create a movement that aims to discourage future dramas from including such scenes. They shared a list of unacceptable behavior exhibited by male characters in K-Dramas and a list of misogynistic phrases that are overly used in many drama series.

its been some time since I posted here but wanted to share my thoughts with you all.

Shinhye has always been part of Baeksang awards since I started watching her in 2011 ( except last yr) . In seeing her win consecutive popularity awards I had come to regard it as her award. ..yes, I actually did!

But seriously, the last time she won it....I had started thinking that popularity award hindered her in the sense that it gave the detractors opportunity to consider her a popular rather than an actress of calibre ....an actress whose fans bought votes for her. Since she already used to win hands down....it lost its charm.But, It did make me change my thinking to wanting her to win a best actress award to prove that she is both....a popular and a good actress. This year her not winning the popularity award is therefore fine with me. She is still the most followed actress among all.

In regards to her winning the best actress award.....keep it in mind that not everyone even gets nominated. The best actresses from the dramas of all the TV stations are selected. Shinhye was among the final 5. That itself is a great honour. She just acted in one drama and her work was acknowledged. Nowhere in the world does one actress no matter how good gets to win the coveted prize every year. She has been performing extremely well with each project..... Choi In Ha and Yoo Hye Jung are permanently ensconced in my mind just because of her outstanding portrayal.

It was a great honour to have been asked to speak and present the life achievement award from among all the artists when doctors was not even KYA's last drama. No artist was chosen from among the cast of her long drama. It bespeaks of SH's close bonding/ relationship built with Kim Young Ae in just few episodes. That's the sort of person she is!

Finally, may I say how graceful and pretty Shinhye was at award ceremony today?

Very very disappointed Shin Hye didn't win best actress at Baeksang awards. We know how much her acting has grown these years. She more then deserved the award for her portrayal of YHJ in Doctors. 

Now, thinking back it all makes sense. Shin Hye and her agency purposely kept her attendance at Baeksang very low key. It is because she only wanted to put the full spotlight on her much respected onscreen grandma - Kim Young Ae. Shin Hye always does the most righteous thing. It was very emotional watching her give the posthumous speech and lifetime achievement award to KYA.

I love this photo, there is something special about their gaze. I hope they act in a drama together.

Thanks chingu for the words of comfort. Indeed, she looked beautiful, dressed for the occasion, and unique as always. Sad due to the mission ahead of her, but I am sure, she felt honor to be the one to present the life achievement award for an actress and friend that mean so much to her. 

Many awards will come to her, but the best , I believe, it's  the recognition of her fans, and many that appreciate,love, and support her acting and projects.

Besides other drama is more recent compare to doctors. We all know doctors popularity. On other notes, sh looks simple n classy fitted for her purpose to attend the awards. I also thought that Shinhye's portrayal would be a very impossible one to top. It required not only immense dedication, sweat and toil to play all the action scenes herself but to perfectly show all the subtleties and nuances of every emotion under the sun was of a top notch calibre. It was by no means an ordinary character she played so perfectly. The only reason I cannot go beyond expressions no these sentiments is the fact that I have not seen the other nominees performances.

As usual Shinhye is perfectly tuned into doing and saying the right thing at the right time. In my 6 yrs of following her ....she has always excelled in it. No wonder they picked her to convey respects for Kim Young Ae. The sentiments could be seen and felt by all in that short time.

That picture of Shinhye and kyungsoo is worth its weight in gold. The natural affection shared is evident in their expressions. He is a perfect gentleman in the way he is holding her hand and conveys lot of respect and admiration at the same time. The time spent while filming for my annoying brother has formed bonds that seem firmly entrenched.

I agree there is no doubt that Shinhye will be winning many laurels in future. I have great hopes from Silent Witness...her first lead role in MV's. Meanwhile, not only us the old timers but new admirers and fans keep increasing in numbers. @Maris is in the house and I love it  ....Miss you chinggu although i read your twitter account always. We need more of your voice here too LOL esp about our girl. You are right that new admirers and fans of SH keep increasing thus the clamor for more exposure and appearance from her when in fact this has been her usual schedule - one drama or movie a year and even SH herself said that her next project will be in the second half of the year. So I compare it to a start of a love relationship. At the start, one tends to want to see the object of their affection all the time while if lovers have been together for a while, they now understand that the other person also needs space and "me time." Now I'm rambling LOL. Stay here chinggu...always
