현영, "'연하남'이랑 결혼하겠다

[마이데일리 = 강은진 기자] 연기자 현영이 연하의 남자와 결혼하고픈 바람을 밝혔다.

최근 서울 강남의 한 카페에서 만난 현영은 "연하의 남자가 좋다. 연하남이랑 결혼할 것이다. 밑으로 5~6세까지 커버가 된다"며 웃음지었다. 현영은 연하남과의 사랑을 바란 노래 '누나의 꿈'으로 많은 사랑을 받은바 있다.

25일 개봉한 영화 '최강로맨스'에서 '연하남' 이동욱과 호흡을 맞춘 현영은 "실제 연이 닿으면 '연하남' 이동욱과 사귀고 싶었다"고 웃음지으며 "이동욱은 외모는 도시적이지만 마음은 시골스러운 진국의 매력을 가졌다. 하지만 아직 군대를 안가서 마음을 접었다"고 말했다.

또 현영은 "또 다른 연하남 중 천정명을 좋아한다. 천정명은 풋사과 같은 느낌을 가졌다. 성숙은 덜 됐는데 뭔가가 있다"며 호감을 보였다. 드라마 '패션 70s'에서 현영과 함께 출연한 천정명은 드라마 '여우야 뭐하니'에서 극중 9세 연상의 고현정과 맺어졌었다.

현영은 "실제 2세 연하의 남자와 교제경험이 있다. 나는 한살 어리다고 속이고, 그 남자애는 한 살 많다고 속여서 2세 차가 됐다"며 "교통위반으로 경찰에 걸려서 신분증 검사를 했는데 그 때 서로의 나이를 알게 됐다. 집에 바래다주며 "누나, 왜 그러셨어요?"라고 했는데 매우 웃었다"고 말했다.

한편 현영은 "지난해에 결혼운이 있었는데, 이를 넘겨서 4~5년 후에나 온다고 한다. 결혼은 좀 늦어지지 않을까 싶다"고 말했다.

이동욱 "코미디는 현영씨, 드라마는 제몫이죠"

영화 '최강 로맨스'에서 형사 역으로 출연

(서울=연합뉴스) 김가희 기자 = 이동욱은 자신의 주연 영화 '최강 로맨스'(감독 김정우, 제작 디알엠엔터테인먼트 외)를 "종합선물세트"라고 표현한다. 물론 딱 하나로만 표현하자면 코미디 장르訣嗤?여기에 드라마도 있고, 액션도 맛볼 수 있다는 것.

이동욱은 '최강 로맨스'에서 마약범을 쫓는 강력반 형사 강재혁으로 등장한다. 어묵 꼬치에 찔리며 여기자 최수진(현영)을 만나는데 영화는 현영의 코미디와 이동욱의 드라마라는 두 축으로 진행된다.

'종합선물세트는 이도저도 아닌 게 될 수 있는 것 아니냐'는 질문에 "그럴 수 있다"고 인정하면서도 "그렇기에 코미디와 드라마의 균형을 잡는 데 애쓴 영화"라고 말했다.

이동욱은 "코믹 연기는 현영과 전수경 씨가 상당 부분 책임지고 있어 나는 과장되지 않게 무게감을 맞출 수 있도록 애썼다"고 덧붙였다.

이 때문일까. '최강 로맨스'는 다소 과장된 웃음이 전편에 흐르지만 마냥 코미디 영화라고만 말할 수 없는 묵직한 이야기를 포기하지 않았다. 그게 되레 돌출된다는 인상을 줄 정도로.

지난해 그의 영화 데뷔작 '아랑'은 전국 관객 120만 명 이상 동원하며 공포영화로는 가장 좋은 성적을 거뒀다. 이동욱은 여기서 스크린에 주눅 들지 않는 당당한 연기로 주목받았다. '최강 로맨스'에서도 더욱 성숙한 남성미를 풍기며 관객에게 다가온다.

두 편의 영화가 공포, 코미디 등 장르적 색채가 강하다.

"'아랑'은 공포, '최강…'은 코미디 장르이지만 포커스는 드라마에 맞춰져 있다고 생각합니다. 이 영화를 선택한 이유이기도 하죠. 내가 연기하는 캐릭터에 포커스를 맞추면 관객에게 뭔가를 보여주는 힘이 있다고 생각했어요."

그래서 그는 경찰인 강재혁에게 치명적인 질병인 '모서리 공포증'을 표현하는 데 가장 공을 들였다. 일반인에게 낯선 모서리 공포증은 날카롭거나 뾰족한 상태를 겁내하는 정신적 질병이다.

"잘생기고, 정의감 투철하고, 무술도 잘하는 전형적인 남성 주연 캐릭터가 될 수 있는데 모서리 공포증이라는 치명적 단점이 강재혁의 인간미를 보여줄 수 있는 한편 영화의 긴장감을 불어넣어줄 것이라 생각해 이를 어떻게 표현할까 고민 많았습니다. 이를 어떻게 표현하느냐에 따라 누구나 할 수 있는 강재혁이란 캐릭터가 이동욱 덕분에 괜찮은 배역으로 평가받을 수 있다고도 생각했죠. 또한 진지한 부분에 관객이 공감하지 않으면 영화 자체의 평가를 받을 수 없을 것이라고 생각했습니다."

그렇다고 코믹 연기가 없는 게 아니다. 언뜻언뜻 보이는 표정 연기가 자연스럽게 녹아난다. 그는 "시트콤 '똑바로 살아라'에 출연한 경험이 있어 코믹 연기도 낯설지 않았다"고 말했다.

'최강 로맨스'는 이동욱의 주연배우로서의 성장을 눈여겨보게 한다.

"작년 '마이걸'에서 주연을 맡은 이후 뭔가 제 안에서 달라졌다는 걸 느낍니다. 주연배우로서의 책임감이라고 할까요. 예전에는 제 것만 챙기기 급급했는데 전체적인 상황이 눈에 보이더군요. 현장 분위기도 재미있게 이끌어야겠다는 생각도 하고, 다른 배우의 앞뒤 감정을 체크하게도 되구요. 그리고 무엇보다 팬이 많이 생겼다는 게 좋으면서도 책임감을 더 느끼게 합니다. 팬들의 기대치라는 걸 생각하게 되고, 그 기대감을 채워야 한다는 책임감이죠."

1999년 데뷔 이후 만 7년째 쉼없이 달려왔다.

"'송윤아의 아랑', '현영의 최강'이라고 말씀하는데 솔직히 섭섭하기도 했지만 어쨌든 제 작품이죠.아직 제가 갈 길이 남아 있으니 하면 할수록 어려운 이 직업, 이젠 공기처럼 여겨지는 연기를 더 잘해야죠."

전편의 인기를 지속하고 있는 ‘마파도2’를 비롯해 한국영화 4편이 지난주 박스오피스 랭킹 5걸에 포함되며 강세를 보였다. ‘미녀는 괴로워’의 김아중과 ‘허브’의 강혜정. ‘마파도2’의 할매 5총사(김지영 여운계 김을동 김형자 길해연) 등 극장가에 ‘우먼파워’가 기세를 떨치고 있다. 남성위주의 영화가 주류를 이루고 있는 한국 영화계에 반가운 소식임에 틀림없다.

이번 주에도 2명의 여자가 나선다. 만능엔터테이?현영이 ‘최강로맨스’를 통해 연기자로서의 가능성을 타진하고. 데뷔 20년째를 맞은 중국 스타 궁리(공리)가 ‘황후화’에서 독특한 매력을 발산한다. 외교문제까지 일으키면서 화제를 모았던 ‘보랏: 카자흐스탄 킹카의 미국문화 빨아들이기’도 볼만한 영화 리스트에 포함시킬만 하다.

◆원색(原色)의 힘! ‘황후화’ = 영화를 보고난 뒤 가장 먼저 떠오르는 느낌은 ‘참 영상이 아름답다’는 것이다. 장이모우 감독이 만든 영화의 특성이기도 한데 빨강 노랑 등 스크린을 수놓는 강렬한 원색이 약간의 흥분을 자아내면서 자극적인 잔상을 남긴다. 축제를 상징하는 황금빛 국화와 반란군의 피묻은 칼과 창 등 색깔 이미지는 이야기를 효과적으로 풀어가는데 중요한 역할을 한다. 반란과 음모. 욕망 등 주요 소재 또한 원색적이다. 시대적 배경은 중국 당나라 말기. 중양절 축제를 앞두고 황금 빛의 국화가 황궁을 가득 채우고 황제(저우룬파)는 국경을 수비하기 위해 떠났던 둘째 아들 원걸 왕자를 데리고 돌아온다. 황제와 황후(궁리). 세 명의 왕자까지 온 가족이 함께 중양절을 보내기 위해 모였지만 그들 사이에는 심상치 않은 기운이 감돈다.황후는 원걸 왕자를 앞세워 거대한 반란 음모를 꾸민다.

언젠가 한 원로 감독은 “주연배우가 돈과 인기를 떠나 주연으로서의 위상을 지킬 수 있어야한다”고 말한 적이 있다. 주위의 평가나 인식. 스스로 지켜야할 자존심에 대해 말한 것이다. 황제 역을 맡아 카리스마 넘치는 연기를 펼친 저우룬파(53)와 궁리의 연기를 보면서 변함없이 지켜내고 지켜주는 대배우의 힘이 느껴진다. 15세 이상 관람가.

◆철저하게 계산된 엽기인가? ‘보랏’ = 카자흐스탄 최고의 ‘킹카’를 자처하는 TV 리포터 보랏(샤샤 바론 코헨)은 선진국의 문물을 배워오라는 정부의 지시에 따라 미국으로 향한다. 이를테면 일제강점기 직전 일본을 돌아봤던 신사유람단이나 마찬가지. 미국에 도착하자마자 아내의 사망이란 기쁜(?) 소식을 접한 보랏은 섹시스타 파멜라 앤더슨을 두 번째 아내로 삼겠다는 목표를 세운다. 앤더슨을 만나러 가는 여정에서 각양각색의 미국인들을 만나 해프닝을 벌이는 보랏은 꿈에도 그리던 앤더슨을 만나 보쌈을 시도하지만 실패로 끝난다.

영화의 내용이 극우 보수주의와 정치적 올바름에 집착하는 미국을 비꼬고 해부하는 수준높은 풍자인지 또는 엽기 사내의 엽기 행각을 단순하게 나열하는 것인지를 굳이 따지지 않더라도 ‘보랏’은 매우 혁명적인 코미디임에 틀림없다. 그 근거는 ‘단돈’ 1800만달러(약 170억원)의 제작비를 투입해 게릴라식 촬영을 감행하며 가짜 다큐멘터리로 만든 출연진과 제작진의 도전 정신에 있다. ‘오스틴 파워’ 시리즈의 감독인 제이 로치가 제작을. 영국에서는 TV 코미디언으로 이미 명성이 자자한 코헨이 주연을 각각 맡았다는 데서 프로페셔널들의 계산된 아마추어리즘이란 ‘혐의’가 엿보이기는 하지만. 새로운 코미디 양식을 창조해냈다는 점 만큼은 인정해줄만하다. 지나친 찬사로도 보이지만 미국영화연구소가 선정한 지난해 최고의 영화 10편 가운데 한 편으로 꼽힌 데서도 알 수 있다.

주인공이 기독교 부흥회에서 광신자들에 휩싸여 찬송가를 합창하는 마지막 대목 등 여러 장면이 개운치 않은 뒷맛을 남긴다. 또 영화속 몇몇 소동은 차마 눈뜨고 보기 어려울 정도로 거부감이 든다. 그러나 이같은 느낌이 우리를 사로잡고 있는 오랜 편견과 선입견에서 우러나는 것은 아닌지 반문할 필요가 있다. 18세 이상 관람가.

◆최강은 아니어도 최하는 피해야 했다. ‘최강로맨스’ = 뾰족한 물건만 보면 오금을 저리는. 이른바 ‘모서리 공포증’에 시달리는 반쪽 형사(이동욱)와 사회부의 열혈 여기자(현영)가 힘을 합쳐 일종의 ‘경찰청 25시’같은 고발 프로그램을 만든다. 연인보다 앙숙에 가까운 둘은 결국 범죄조직도 일망타진하고 사랑하는 사람도 얻는 ‘일석이조’의 행운을 누리게 된다.

더 이상 자세한 설명이 필요없을 만큼 ‘최강로맨스’는 아주 낯익은 로맨틱 액션 코미디다. 로맨틱 코미디의 익숙한 캐릭터 구조인 티격태격 싸우는 남녀 주인공에 이들의 사랑을 서서히 싹트게 만드는 거친 액션. 웃기다 못해 황당하기 그지 없는 조연 등 모든 요소가 친숙함을 넘어서 진부할 정도다. 문제는 이를 버무리는 솜씨일텐데. 아쉽게도 연출자인 김정우 감독은 지극히 평이한 화법으로 일관했다. ‘모서리 공포증’ 등 캐릭터 설정에서 나름대로 사전 조사를 충실히 한 흔적은 느껴지지만 그게 전부다.

온몸을 내던지는 현영의 코미디 연기는 전작인 ‘조폭마누라3’보다 오히려 못한 듯싶다. 조금은 절제가 필요했다. 이동욱도 정도는 덜하지만 현영과 비슷하다. 아예 진지했거나 가벼웠으면 웃음의 폭이 더욱 커지지 않았을까. 신문사 사주의 딸이자 여주인공의 직장 선배로 출연한 뮤지컬 배우 전수경의 능청스러운 코미디 연기가 남녀 주연을 압도하는 것처럼 보이는 이유가 여기에 있다. 제목처럼 최강의 로맨틱 코미디가 그립다. 15세 이상 관람가.

I wish we could understand the articles too. The one you posted on page 773 is about netizens have voted for Strongest Romance as the most anticipated movie this month. Cool! And one of the articles posted above is a HY interview, in which she's talking about Wookie oppa and says some really nice things, eg by his appearance people would think he's a city boy, but at heart he's a more like country boy who's honesty will charm you :blush: *wuv HY unnie!*

In another article above, he says that he really feels the burden of carrying the lead man's role (muz be why he's stressed), he takes it as a big responsibility and duzzn't want to let down his director and crew and the other actors.

But I do notice that despite his worries, in the BTS clips posted by mandalaywith, he works super-hard but at the same time he has fun onset too, clowning around with HY (making faces while she pretends to whack him with her shoe! Playfully pushing her off camera while she's giving an interview ), with the crew (giving them some of the "fishballs" from the skewer stuck on his tummy for them to snack on ), and with his director (i thot it's so cute his director actually let Wookie be the cameraman for the last scene of the production, hehe!). He may have been stressed out, but it's good to see him not letting it affect his work too much. He really loves his job.

Ahh! I think LDW is a romantic person. I like the way he put in writing about his feelings and thoughts. Very few men do these except the poets and the romantic one. "Desire to Fly High" (thanks to Incarnadine), he's very consistent. He always has these feelings everytime he got a very important project like when he was filming "My Girl".
