Hi noopie, thanks for posting these stuff. Lee Dong Wook is looking STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!! Although, IDK about whether or not I like his facial hair though. Lee Dong Wook’s portrayal of the witty, and world-weary Kang Ji Wook was excellent. Although many tears were shed on my part throughout this drama, I truly enjoyed Lee Dong Wook’s acting.

Hi Sultan, thanks for posting the pictures. Lee Dong Wook appears here in his new look with beard, showcasing a different appeal from his neat and chic character at his previous drama ‘Scent of A Woman’. Though I prefer his previous look. Looking forward for the pilot episode, which is on January 4 already, following ‘Man of Honor’.

Will Lee Dong Wook succeed as a wild man in Wild Romance ?

Jan 4, 2012 Author: daiko | Filed under: korean drama

Since appeared in My Girl (2005) which skyrocketed his name, Lee Dong Wook was identical with prince charming roles. Although he tried a darker role in Bittersweet Life, he’s still not derailed from a role of a man with manner in Partner. After returned from military duty, he again chose a safe role, a usual chaebol son in Scent of A Woman.

And now, Lee Dong Wook challenged himself in a brand new character, a trouble maker man in new drama Wild Romance.

He’ll play Park Mu Hyul, an ignorant, cheeky, hot tempered baseball player, a 100% contrary with his previous drama works.

During Wild Romance’s press conference couple days ago, Lee Dong Wook got question from media about his role, on how he differentiate it with his previous job.

And Lee Dong Wook looked like already blended with his new character as he answered the question jokingly as he said : ‘This time I treat women more rude than before’ . Ha Ha !

When media asked ‘how is your real personality ?’, Lee Dong Wook answered ‘ Actually I’m not kind but I’m not that rude as well’. He continued ‘ I feel odd when encounter woman. I don’t know how to control the situation, so I usually have nothing to say and stay calm. Then people think I am angry when I just stay calm’

So, how Lee Dong Wook who always seems quiet and calm proposed a wild behavior ? Will he succeed ?

We already got the sneak peak of his wild behavior from the Wild Romance trailers and it seems promising ! And we liked it !

So, we can’t wait to experience the wild Lee Dong Wook tonight when Wild Romance debuts.

I guess the articIe did not take into account his movie roIes - Arang, Strongest CoupIe, Heartbreak Iibrary and Miso where he pIayed a totaIIy different roIe... hmmm, guess My GirI made such an impact peopIe dont remember anything eIse Iike Precious famiIy, Wooden CarouseI

ActuaIIy its funny he onIy pIayed chaeboI twice, My GirI(his first Iead roIe) and SOAW,

In the other poster, Lee Si-young smiles shyly wearing ear muffs like a cute little girl, while Lee Dong-wook leans toward her with a confident look.

The posters hinted at how the relationship between the two will develop from enemy to couple.

[REVIEW] KBS TV series "Wild Romance" - 1st Episode

2012010513230526641_1.jpg

KBS TV series "Wild Romance" - Wed/Thur 9:55 p.m.

It is not about love at a baseball park or about baseball and love separately. Baseball is the reason the main characters come to work in the same space together and the tool that provokes each other's emotions. Yoo Eun-jae (Lee Si-young), an avid fan of baseball team the Blue Seagulls and anti-fan of the Red Dreamers player Park Moo-yeul (Lee Dong-wook), thinks the Blue Seagulls lost a game they were close to winning because of Park and throws him over her shoulder when she bumps into him at a karaoke bar. And because both would get into trouble -- Yoo for getting into a fight after drinking when she is a bodyguard and Park for fighting with a woman -- they hold a press conference and announce that Yoo is Park's private bodyguard. From then on, the two, who get involved with each other after a violent physical fight instead of sweet physical affection, as baseball player and bodyguard call each other "a gangster playing baseball" and "dunce" and when back at their respective homes go back to baseball and an anti-fan that chat online as if about to prey on the other.

The first episode to "Wild Romance" which spent a lot of time showing how frank of a woman Yoo is and how inconsiderate a man Park is, presented viewers with a main male and female character that are different from those seen in usual romantic comedies. It was also worth complimenting for the mere fact that there were no scenes to waste but it was also funny every moment. Hence baseball was not an element incorporated for the purpose of creating the romance but material that would strengthen the romance that would bud between them some time in the future. Situations such as Yoo's father (Lee Won-jong) warning his daughter that "although your body is next to his (Park), your soul is blue" was so solemn that it triggered laughter and the energy of the characters surrounding baseball brought each of their lines to life. The ball has been thrown. What is important is which direction it will go in. The task "Romance" will have to undertake is to maintain its level of humor but not be forceful in showing how the main characters' ill-fated relationship becomes destined love.

"Wild Romance" Lee Dong-wook and Lee Si-yeong 'sleeping with the enemy'

20120104_1325687614_46381200_1.jpg

It's like sleeping with the enemy.

On the first episode of KBS 2TV drama "Wild Romance" on January 4th, baseball team the Red Dreamer's star slugger Moo-yeol (Lee Dong-wook) and Eun-jae (Lee Si-yeong), a crazed fan of rival team the Blue Seagulls, met as client and bodyguard.

The reason Moo-yeol now needs a bodyguard was due to a video that was taken of Eun-jae flipping and laying out Moo-yeol. He is currently being voted out of the Korean Series Championship due to a long line of enemies creating a rumor that he goes around fighting with women, but this gave his marketing director an idea. He faked the video and installed Eun-jae as his bodyguard.

Criticism of Moo-yeol died down because of this but other hardships started. There were harsh remarks about him on the internet, a Blue Seagulls fan threw eggs at him during an autograph signing session, and Yeong-gil (Lee Won-jong) comically imitated Moo-yeol's video.

At the end, Moo-yeol and Eun-jae went head to head, clashing via keyboard over the internet. A comment Moo-yeol added to Eun-jae's post was the source of this fight. While arguing over the internet, Eun-jae quickly got offline and the situation ended. "Wild Romance" had a good start with its two main characters' enemy relationship.

Anyone here is watching wookie's wild romance?

I feel bit worried because WR's rating dropped, but nothing that I can do since I'm not korean citizen and can't contribute in the rating.

I watched WR ep1-2 unsub, and I enjoyed it! It's funny and hilarious! I hope in the next episode there is improvement in the rating.

I really hope wookie's new drama can be successful.

Wild Romance, you be the death of me…

Posted on January 6, 2012 by ripgal

…if your coming episode are going to be as wacky hilarious as your first!

And you did not just make me gag myself in laughter for a whole one hour last night. Oh no you didn’t.

I haven’t seen MoonSun yet, so I’ll reserve judgment. But Wild Romance, it is SO MY CUP OF TEA HUMOR! I love it. It’s so deliriously madly stupid and comical I really can’t take it seriously lol. You know, it will probably be not as loved as MoonSun (sagueks usually draw big crowd watchers, and we all know how BIG Kim Soo Hyun and Jung Il Woo are), it may never be taken seriously, or may not beat History of Salaryman in terms of solidness of plot, but I love it. I LOVE IT SO MUCH ALREADY.

Yes, I’m one biased viewer. I love Wookie to death, and I love the writer even more for having penned few of my favorites in the past (the awesome awesome Alone In Love being on of them). But aside from those facts and the fact that I love comedy and quirk silly done good, it’s actually the surprisingly spot on Lee Shi Young whom I’m loving so much in here. She is so utterly WANJEON DAEBAK!~~

The OTP is love, has wonderful chemistry (it really does get me thinking, how does Wookie manage to do it every single time?) and most importantly, are EQUALS in terms of EQ lol. I love that they’re such hilarious duds together and individually. I also love how both of them spar each other with equal levels of wit and intelligence (being kinda low here LOL), physically and mentally. It’s just so FUN to watch. Wookie is going all out with his obnoxiously self-aware jerk-richard simmons character Moo Yeol, and Lee Shi Young is nailing her character Eun Jae with utter perfection! I love them together <333

But what I love most about WR right now, is the execution and writing. WR may not have the most original storyline, in fact, it’s probably one of the most re-hashed boy-girl-bicker-fall-in-love plot of all time. But the writing of Park Yeon Seon shows, it’s there. Quirky, witty and fun all combined perfectly. It may be a bit lacking in terms of depth and subtlety (reminds me of his early My Tutor Friend), and may not appeal to some for the OTT-ness is portrays, but it’s not totally mindless or ridiculous. There’s just a genuine charm to all the humor and wackiness.

I know judging from Ep 1 alone doesn’t mean anything. Everything can go astray afterwards and I may drop it or whatever later on, but as for now, it’s just pure LOVE for me. More for WR! W000TTTT!~~~

Have a cut from Ep 1:

credits: aeaesi

Moo Yeol and Eun Jae are going to be so FUN together. I can already feel it. <

Thank you, kler2009 for the comforting words. This thread is little bit slow and quiet, I'm so happy to see you here. I wonder if all of wookie's fans are watching wild romance? (wonder where all the wook's soompi fans are going? T_T).

I think I have to stop worrying about the rating, thinking about how wookie is feeling now. Hmmm can't lose, this make me feel like watching can't lose, or any lower ratings.

I remember, SKKS also have a low rating before (the beginning episode abt 7 too if im not wrong), they can't even broke 15% but SKKS is so so so successful despite the low rating. I hope it happened to wookie 'WR' as well. I just want wookie to have a chance to prove himself, that he can do a great work and produce good rating drama.

As a Sunwook's fans, I'm a frequent visitors in Tango thread, but now I want to make a visit to wookie and sunny thread too, just want to show my support to both of them (haven't really make a visit in sunny thread ^^, but ill do so, but i always drop message in their me2day).

I know wookie's me2day has lots of visitors and comments (but all those comments are in korean T_T). I love soompi, here is the place where I can communicate with all K fans in english.

I hope wookie are ok now. I hope the PD and the scriptwriter will do something about WR. I feel after 2 eps dropped, perhaps the viewers doesn't really enjoy the comical humour. (I don't know, I cant say much because eventhough I watched the raw, I don't know what they said, so I shld watch again with sub to get a full understanding).

I hope the PD and scriptwriter can show more on the baseball game, not only just the bickering and play trick on each and another, i mean show more some of serious elements. I really love to see how wookie play a baseball game, esp when he is eating the chewing gum while holding the baseball stick, I find it really really handsome and cool! wahahahaha!

ps. the advertisement is really annoying, I have closed it many times, even i click on the ads, not just close, but it always appear. Anyone is facing the same problem like me?

I've seen the raw videos of episodes 1 and 2 of Wild Romance, as well as the subbed version of episode. So far I am absolutely loving the show. Wookie and LSY are doing a fabulous job, they're both so entertaining to watch. I won't lie, I feel a bit bad/sad that a show as good as Wild Romance isn't faring so well in the ratings. But I'm still hopeful that it will pick up, and that the Korean audience will give it a chance. :)

I gotta say, Wookie is really nailing his role as park Mu Yeol, and his versatility as an actor really shows. I've also read some reviews of the episodes and so far, most, if not all of them are overwhelmingly positive. :) I think in terms of ratings, timing is also a factor since WR is at the same timeslot as a rom-com, fantasy saeguk, which we all know is a crowd drawer.

I guess what I am trying to say is that no matter what happens and no matter what the ratings turn out to me, I think we have a winner with WR. :) Aja aja fighting, Lee Dong Wook sshi!
