EDIT: uhm since I know mandarin, I'll roughly translate for you guys the part she was interviewed, the rests were written by the author so I just want to quickly translate this and get back to my studies. : ) But wait, don't Kozuesan know mandarin, I mean if not then how do you always come up with this chinese links? Lol. Forgive my ignorance.

韩孝珠坦言：“得知会扮演这个角色的时候压力很大，因为同伊是真实存在过的人物，要从10多岁一直演到50多岁，很担心自己能不能演好。” - Han Hyo Joo says: "The pressure was high when I first got to know that I am portraying this role because Dong Yi did really exists in the history, and I have to act from 10+ year old up to 50+, I'm worried that I can't act it well."

但其实韩孝珠能演同伊绝对是“命运的安排”。《灿烂的遗产》结束后，韩孝珠正在挑选下部戏的剧本，结果有人把《同伊》的剧本给她看，在看到的一瞬间她的脑海里就深深印下了这两个字，“接到剧本的瞬间，不知道为什么就好开心……而在喜悦的瞬间，产生了压力和好想演两种截然相反的情绪。当然了现在是已经忘记一切，只想竭尽全力演到最好了。”

Perhaps it was Han Hyo Joo's destiny that she gets to act as Dong Yi. After Brilliant Legacy, Han Hyo Joo was picking out the scripts, someone showed her Dong Yi's script, the 2 words imprinted in her mind right after she saw it, "I don't know why, but I was very happy when I got the script.....and at the same joyous moment, the pressure kicked in which is totally different with the eagerness of acting this role. Of course I've forgotten about all those, I just want to try my best in acting it."

韩孝珠表示：“这是我第二次演出历史剧，但还是这么难。历史剧的演技是有一定规范的，无论是视线的角度、动作都有一定的尺度。最开始总觉得很多地方不太自然，现在终于多少习惯了。”

Han Hyo Joo:"This is my second time acting in historical drama, but it's still hard for me. There's a standard of acting in historical drama, there will be criterion no matter if it's the angle of the sight, actions/motions(this part of the sentence am not sure if I've translated correctly cause sometimes it's kinda hard to find the right english word for mandarin :S). At the beginning of the shoot, it felt unnatural in many ways, at least I've gotten used to it now."

韩孝珠说：“当初在《灿烂的遗产》中的角色，是拥有年轻人特有魅力的人物，同伊则更加沉稳积极。所以这两个角色都让我觉得好满足。最大的烦恼就是怎样把这个角色带给观众活力。”

She: "Brilliant Legacy's role, is someone who possesses special charm of youngsters, whereas Dong Yi is steadily positive. Therefore both these roles gave me the feeling of satisfaction. The greatest headache would be how to make this role appear lively to the audiences."

According to the translation.....When she took the role she felt a lot of pressure......she had to make the character lively........and I think she is success played her role........at least to me.....hehe....because I really feel her character.....when Dong Yi was sad..........I felt sad too.....

Yay! translations! thank you soooo much beeboo . It must really be a huge huge pressure on her considering she takes on a title role of a real person in a 50 episode drama with no less than LBH as the PD. But hte PD seems to be satisfied by her performance. I hope she continues to make good in her role which I am confident she will. I have to agree with Fujiwara, for me too, Hyo joo is successful in portraying Dong Yi. Dong Yi has a lot of funny, sad moments as well as moments that makes me really anxious, haha. Episode 23 even made me shed some tears. . and thats without subs.

Yes, I'd agree as well that the PD seems to be quite satisfied with her performance, afterall, it was he who picked her for this role XD

Well most of the Dong Yi moments are either sad or anxious that's why I always enjoy myself when she and the king meets, the king's courtship although he probably hasn't realized that he's fallen for her, it's funny and happy, and it also have some sort of a special feeling to it when you watch them both together somehow.

Hahaha I couldn't hold myself from watching Dong Yi so I watched episode 21 and left 22 after this Friday's paper. Gotta love her in episode 21

She looked good in this World Cup shoot, but somehow I didn't like the pink lipstick, I don't know, it's probably me, I find it somehow weird combination for her all red and pink lipstick, maybe leaving it natural or her usual lipstick colours would be better. :S Oh well ignore this lol.

and I think bashful and oscar should take your time to watch the episodes, if not you'll get caught waiting eagerly for the next episodes and grow more impatient. At least that's what's happening to me now lol.

I just strained my left wrist . It feels weird to type with a splint on it.

Fujiwara, if you want to, the PHASTeam has also shared their subtitles for eps 21 & 22. It's posted at the dong yi thread. The best part of that episode (21, I think) was when the king was reading a book and he looked so excited because he thought Pungsan will really love the book so he decided to give it to her. He asked Chief Han to send someone to call DongYi but his chief misinterpreted things and asked the king if they are going to send DongYi to the king's sleeping chambers. The king at first was oblivious to what his ward has just said and nodded his head but then, he quickly retracted his statement when he realized what Chief Han has just said, haha. Hyo joo also seems to blend well with the new character. But, I still have to learn how to be patient, though, as I'm still watching raw, haha.

It is also her destiny that if she survives seven deaths and blades, she will reach the highest position she can ever attain. I think the picture above "shows one of that "seven deaths" which she has survived. "

Lol kozuesan, it's ok, I've gone as far as watching the RAW as well, what to do? lol we're hopeless. Luckily I understand mandarin nguahahahhaha sometimes mandarin subs are faster than english and I get to watch 23 in mandarin =D

Oh and when the king wanted to give the book and the misunderstand was hilarious lol. But I prefer the scene when she and ae jung were discussing about which assignment they wanted and she begged ae jung so that she could tag along, and then there's another part how she tries to convince lady Jung to let her go back to the treasury, if they beat her again she'd bring ae jung with her, she's just plain adorable in that 2 scenes lol.
