Plot

 

Chemistry is a drama depicting the fact that the explosion that led to the serial murder in 1984 is happening in a similar form at this point.

 

In 1984, an explosion took place. The explosion led to a serial murder case known as the Chimera case. A similar explosion takes place in 2019. Detective Cha Jae-Hwan (Park Hae Soo), Doctor Lee Joong-Yeob (Lee Hee Joon)  and Profiler Yoo Jin (Soo Hyun) work together to find the person responsible. In the process, they try to reveal the hidden secret between the two cases from 1984 and 2019.

Park Hae Soo, Claudia Kim, And Lee Hee Joon In Talks To Unite For New Drama

Actors Park Hae Soo, Claudia Kim, and Lee Hee Joon may be leading a new drama!

On April 9, Claudia Kim’s agency shared, “Soo Hyun (Claudia Kim) is positively considering [the offer] to star in ‘Chemistry’ (working title).”

Park Hae Soo and Lee Hee Joon’s agency BH Entertainment previously revealed last week that the two actors are also positively reviewing their offers for the drama.

In “Chemistry,” an explosion begins a series of murder incidents in 1984, and a similar situation occurs in present day. The drama follows the path to capturing the criminal.

It will be directed by Kim Do Hoon, who previously led “The Moon Embracing the Sun,” with a script by Lee Jin Mae, who has written “Ex-Girlfriend Club.”

The drama is in talks to air on one of CJ ENM’s networks tvN or OCN towards the end of 2019.

Park Hae-Soo, Lee Hee-Joon & Soo-Hyun cast in drama series “Chimera”

Park Hae-Soo, Lee Hee-Joon and Soo-Hyun are cast in drama series “Chimera.” The drama series had the early working title of “Chemistry.” For the drama series, Park Hae-Soo will play Detective Cha Jae-Hwan, Lee Hee-Joon will play Dr. Lee Joong-Yeob and Soo-Hyun will play criminal profiler Yoo Jin. All three work together to solve a criminal case. Kim Do-Hoon (“Medical Top Team“) will direct the drama series and the screenplay is written by Lee Jin-Mae (“Ex-Girlfriends’ Club“).

“Chimera” is tentatively scheduled to air in the second half of this year in South Korea, but exact channel has yet to be determined.

Park Hae Soo, Claudia Kim, and Lee Hae Joon will be joining forces in a new drama!

In “Chimera,” which was previously known under the working title “Chemistry,” a present-day case is found to be related to an explosion and series of murders in 1984 known as the Chimera Incident. The story follows the main characters as they track down the criminal and uncover the secrets between the two cases.

Park Hae Soo is expected to showcase powerful action scenes through his role as Detective Cha Jae Hyun of the Major Crime Investigation Section. Lee Hee Joon will take on the role of doctor Lee Joong Yeob, and Claudia Kim will act as profiler Yoo Jin.

The drama will be led by “The Moon Embracing the Sun” director Kim Do Hoon and “Ex-Girlfriend Club” writer Lee Jin Mae and is reported to have a budget of 13 billion won (approximately 11.2 million dollars).

JS Pictures, the production company behind the drama, stated, “These three actors stand out with their strong acting skills. Actress Cha Ju-young joins the cast of drama Chimera.

Cha Young-young will play the elite reporter Kim Hyo-kyung of the Broadcasting Exploration Press Team. Kim Hyo - kyung is a reporter of innate ability who can confuse his opponent with  her character but throws the information that the opponent needs and obtains what he wants. As a journalist with a brilliant mind and persistence that never once believe what she heard, she is interested in this case and will play an active role in digging the inside.

Production Company Of Upcoming Drama Responds To Allegations Of Sexual Assault And Harassment

JS Pictures, the production company for the upcoming drama “Chimera,” has responded to allegations that sexual assault occurred at a company dinner for the drama’s production staff.

“Chimera,” which was previously known as “Chemistry,” is a crime thriller drama starring Park Hae Soo, Claudia Kim, and Lee Hee Joon. It tells the story of how a present-day case is linked back to a series of 1984 murders known as the “Chimera Incident.”

It was recently reported that sexual assault occurred during a company dinner for the drama’s production staff that was held on June 15. The assailant was an assistant director (“A”) and the victim was part of the scriptwriting team (“B”).
