Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2015 – January Week 2

Recommended Posts

In a wide open competition this week, Kyuhyun recaptured the top spot this week with “At Gwanghwamun.” This song was No. 1 for two weeks in November and December of last year. Due to the usual slower period at the beginning of the year in which not too many artists are releasing new songs, “At Gwanghwamun” remains steadily ranked among the top songs on every chart source and managed to squeeze out another win. Congratulations to Kyuhyun! Just edged out by Kyuhyun at No. 2 is a re-entry. EXID’s “Up & Down” was ranked for a week last September at No. 39 when it was first released. The song more recently gained popularity with recent fancams of member Hani that went viral on the internet. It led to the revival of this song nearly three months after its release. We normally don’t re-enter songs on our chart after it drops out, but “Up & Down” is ranked on the top of many charts now and it is winning on music shows. This song deserves a second chance on the chart and in fact, it has a great chance to become our new No. 1 song next week. There is only one other new song on the chart. Moving up 13 spots to No. 4 is EXO’s “December 2014 (The Winter’s Tale).” This song is from EXO’s concert album “Exology Chapter 1: The Lost Planet” and  is a sequel of their 2013 winter song “Miracles In December.” It is a fairy tale love story about a man going around planet earth to meet his love. It is a gift to EXO fans to thank their massive support. “December 2014 (The Winter’s Tale)” went to No. 1 on Music Bank last week and is a close 4th on our chart. It will be one of the contenders for the top spot next week.
