[tv]Watch Mama on SoompiTV![/tv] MBC’s weekend drama “Mama” is proving to be a ratings hit, landing almost 20 percent of the Korean national viewing rate.

The ratings were released by Nilsen Korea, an organization that monitors viewer rates. According to Nielsen Korea’s report, released on October 6, the drama’s 20th episode (broadcast on October 5) scored 19.5 percent, representing an increase of 1.5 percent on the previous episode of the series.

The series returned to its usual timeslot after the conclusion of the Incheon Asian Games on October 4. The sporting event had caused schedule reshuffles on all three of Korea’s largest channels. “Mama” finished head and shoulders above its nearest competition, with KBS2 show “Gag Concert” a distant second place at 13.6 percent, followed by SBS series “Endless Love,” which scored 7.8 percent of the ratings share. “Mama” airs at 9:45 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and stars Song Yoon Ah, Jung Joon Ho, Moon Jung Hee, and Hong Jong Hyun.
