Kim Gu Ra Reveals His Thoughts on Sharing of Profits Within Idol Groups

On the latest episode of JTBC’s “War of Words,” the theme of “Breadwinners of Idol Groups” was discussed. The most known breadwinners that were discussed were 4Minute’s Hyuna, FT Island’s Lee Hongki, and Miss A’s Suzy, among others. The MCs debated the issue of how these groups split their earnings. Rose Motel’s Yook Joong Wan, for example, splits all of his earnings equally among the members (in other words, 1/N splitting). To this, Lee Yoon Seok commented, “But when the 1/N system gets prolonged over an extended period of time, there are times within idol groups where their parents intervene and complain.” Heo Ji Woong added, “I think it would be a better idea to keep in 1/N to certain limit, and once that limit is reached go their separate ways.” Hearing this debate, Kim Gu Ra showed his disapproval of the 1/N system by commenting, “If the 1/N system is continued, the Miss A members minus Suzy will be the happiest people on Earth.” What do you guys think of this system?
