Core Contents Media Sues Lee Seung Chul's Agency for Illegal Usage of Music

Recommended Posts

Singer Lee Seung Chul and his agency, Baek Entertainment, are currently involved in a controversy for using music without permission.

On January 6, it has been known that Lee Seung Chul's tenth repackaged album contained two songs that were not permitted, including "Are You Listening?" from the drama "East of Eden" OST and "No One Else" from the film "More Than Blue" OST.

The production company of those tracks is Core Contents Media, which is also home to popular artists like T-ara and Davichi. Core Contents Media stated, "Since we have not received the exact numbers for those track sales, we checked with the distributor, CJ E&M and discovered that Baek Entertainment has been the sole receiver of the sales for the past three years."

Core Contents Media added, "This is not morally plausible. We will be taking legal action against the fact that they ignored the distribution regulations as a business."

Core Contents Media's director Byun Dong Jin commented, "We hope that this can be an opportunity to receive proper protection for music copyrights and for music distribution laws to be set properly."
