Guest webby
this must be my lucky day when i chance upon this thread (thanks to the link in jason's sig). Have read all the 3 tutorials and gone through most of the pages. have yet to sit down and try them out. Thanks a whole lot for those who contributed to teaching. I have been perplexed by the dotted border for really long. i'll have to try it out. And that also answers my question of how to draw that thin fine black border. THanks! kiki
DO NOT TAKE OUT OF SOOMPI. I WILL HURT AND HUNT YOU DOWN. BLAH. MY vectored crap sucks because my profession is not vectoring. (lol) After you do it for a while, I believe you'll get the hang of it. This is officially my first vector/outline that I have finished.. so bare with me as I make the tutorial. I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU GO OUT AND PLAY AROUND INSTEAD OF COPYING SOMEONE'S STYLE. this tutorial is for YOU to see how these things are done, not for YOU to COPY. I'd hate to see the same style like this turning up in the artwork section. AND IF YOU ARE TRYING TO LEARN THIS JUST SO THAT YOU CAN COPY TUE, I WILL TAKE DOWN THIS TUTORIAL AND BASH ON YOU! I mean it seriously. It's for your own benefit to go out and practice. TO PERFECT THE ART OF VECTORING: http://www.tutorio.com/tutorial/vector-mask posted by tue himself on passingrain. That tutorial will teach you some how to fix and edit shapes... http://www.heathrowe.com/tuts/vector.asp and another one. for the more detailed vector. THE IMAGE If you're a noob at these things, I suggest you to pick something EASY. Don't pick a flower with trillions of petals... that's just crazy. I find this one really really easy to work with. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: THE CIRCLED STICKS http://img488.imageshack.us/img488/1538/000033pl.jpg add a new layer and make a circle.Fill in with the chosen color. http://img488.imageshack.us/img488/5526/000038rl.jpg add a new layer. Swith back to RECTANGULAR MARQUEE TOOL and add the stick as shown above. click on the f with circles around it and choose gradient overlay. http://img479.imageshack.us/img479/3066/000032ec.jpg change black and white to designated colors. The color on the very top should be the same color as the circle. Navigator at the very top right will show changes being made. You can always move the stick one layer back if it doesn't blend in with the circle. and WALA! THE GLOWING CIRCLE http://img488.imageshack.us/img488/1538/000033pl.jpg add a new layer and make a circle. Fill in with the chosen color. Copy the circle onto a new layer. Go to Filter. Blur. Gaussain Blur. radius: 2-6. http://img485.imageshack.us/img485/8774/00037kk.jpg Feel free to make new layers of the circle. Move it around and blur it out. THE ROUNDED STICKS Make a new layer and using the elliptical marquee tool, paint in a circle towards the top. http://img479.imageshack.us/img479/6563/000035dz.jpg make another new layer and use the rectangular marquee tool to outline the circle. http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/9663/000031li.jpg Fill in the image with the same color as the circle. THE VECTOR'S FOREGROUND AND IT'S BACKGROUND I'm sorry to say, I cannot walk step by step with you on how to do the vector.. That is why I provided those vectoring links to teach you. That's how I learned. http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/4234/000038fj.jpg make a new layer and paste the vector. Move the vector around until you are satisfied with position. Click on the F with the Circle around it and click COLOR OVERLAY. change the color to designated color for the foreground. http://img484.imageshack.us/img484/139/000032pk.jpg As you can see.. my example is EXACTLY like Tue's it's just that his is more colorful. Colors help bring out the beauty. PLAY with colors. EXPERIMENT. any questions? feel free to ask.
Guest `starry.night
THanks Kiki I'm not going to use it on many of my graphics I was just wondering because it looked really cool and I really wanted to learn how to do it so THANKS!!
Guest sixth.
kiki, that tutorial was really good ^___^ but i won't use it, i stored it in my mind for references yeah i want to learn how to do a gif. ive learned the blinkies but i want to learn the moving gifs like mv's and everything..you know what i mean? like _christine's http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/5925/xiah4nu.gif I'll quickly run through the steps that I take (without caps) - Use some sort of program to get the section of the MV, movie, whatever that you want. - Open it up in Imageready and delete all the frames that look alike. That way, it makes the file size smaller and you can use it here on soompi :] - Once you've got the frames that you want, you can now edit it. I like to do this in Photoshop. - Play around with the image sizes to whatever you want, add brushes or effects, etc. Add a border, text. It's kind of like making a graphic - Go back to Imageready and animate it, like you would with a blinkie. I don't think I've left any steps out. Maybe, if I have permission, I'll post up the tutorial that AsianRice made a while ago. It explains things much better than I do.
