Synopsis:

After recovering from a long term illness, semi-retired popular singer Wah Fong Ying (Liza Wang) realizes that she has lived an unfulfilled life. With two failed marriages and estranged relationships with all of her children she lives a lonely life. Wanting to mend her relationship with her oldest daughter who resides in Taiwan, she travels there and meets Hong Kong photographer Ben Law (Damian Lau), who is a fan of her. Ben is in Taiwan to fulfill his late wife's wish to have her remains returned to her ancestral home. Romance sparks between the two and soon each becomes the other's strength and support. Realizing that throughout her career she has never sung for her loved ones and with Ben's encouragement, Fong Ying decides to hold a last concert for her friends and family, but her daughter Tong Yan (Eliza Sam) rejects her invitation to attend. Fong Ying proceeds on working on her concert and hires assistant Jinny Szeto (Linda Chung) and creative director Sean Song (Alex Fong) to help her produce the concert. Just as light seems to shine on Fong Ying again, darkness comes back into her life when Jinny finds out that Fong Ying was involve in an affair with her uncle in the past and Ben starts to suffer from hallucinations due to a brain tumor.

New series, Limelight Years: Liza Wang and Damian Lau praised Linda Chung's acting

Classic on-screen couple, Liza Wang (汪明荃) (ah jie) and Damian Lau (劉松仁) continued their affinity in TVB new series, Limelight Years (華麗轉身) after acting in the series, Yesterday's Glitter (京華春夢), 35 years ago and The Awakening Story (婚前昏後), 15 years ago. Liza specially requested from the company to tailer made roles for them in the new series and hoped the third cooperation will increase their chemistry. Liza and Damian also praised each other for their good maintenance during the promotion campaign.

Besides Liza and Damian, the series included younger cast such as Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣), Alex Fong (方力申), Jonathan Wong (王梓軒), Eliza Sam (岑麗香) and others. Both veterans awarded the highest mark to Linda and praised that she acted very well as 'material queen' role which was different from her usual roles, while Alex acted naturally for his sharp-tongued man role.

TVB announced the ratings for primetime slots for last week and the highest ratings for the series, Limelight Years (華麗轉身) was 29 pts, around 1.88 millions audiences, while the average ratings for finale on Sunday was 26 pts. It achieved average ratings at 24 pts on weekdays. The ratings and good reviews of Limelight Years starring Liza Wang (汪明荃) as main lead proved that she continued to be well-loved by the audiences. It was estimated that TVB will be broadcasting the new series, Master of Destiny (風雲天地) directing by Wong Jing (王晶) in June. In the series, Liza 'Jie' acted as the mother of Hawick Lau (劉愷威), Edwin Siu (蕭正楠) and Wong Tak Bun (黃德斌). Lastly, The Empress of China (武則天) series starring Fan Bingbing (范冰冰) maintained the average ratings standard at 25 pts.
