I really like Ja Gyun he is doing a great job at first i thought he was in love with the princess but i think he sees her as his sister... i remember when they were young he mentioned his sister that died. . I excited to see him as the princess bodyguard and dress up...

I saw article too he is training for his character :)

I'm probably the only one here that gets the feeling that Ja Gyung feels something more for the princess than brotherly love... I think he actually loves her in a romantic sense... The way he looks at her is not that of a brother... IDK, this is just the opinion of a hopeless romantic ajhumma :wub:

I thought he must know tae kwon do 'cause it's visible. It's in his movements - it's just... you can actually see that he does martial arts. :)

I have similar problem - the scenes with the princess. There's something wrong with his acting there.

I'm not bashing. It's just I'm not a fan now. Of course if he gets better during the drama I'm not going to say no to him as an actor. He's just not Joo Won yet.

I'm Cha Seung Won fan and must say I think when Gwanghae character changed (killing human being inside himself, being more dangerous and not "good uncle" type) CSW felt better in Gwanghae skin. Now he's truly fantastic. :) In latest episodes he showed why I love him as an actor so much.

SeungWon is pulling off his role more than perfectly, the way he portrayed his character 'Gwanghee' at the very first episodes, then completely changed withing few episodes is just ARGH TT----TT .. I've always been a fan of SeungWon and of his amazingly amazing acting, among all Korea's Ajusshies, He's my favourite tbh ..

 'Gwanghee' came out as powerful as ever, as strong as ever, to beat his Rivals, to prove again that he's worthy being the King, Even tho I'm aware of the fact he's Uri Leads' Rival but still, I admire 'Gwanghee' character, I just do .. He's one of My favourite Aspects in the drama ..

It may be that it's your romantic nature. Or you just know dramas too well to not know the truth we deny. ;)

I think the same as @purpledrama - Ja Gyung called princess after his late sister. So I think he sees her exactly as a sister. Like he got her back.

Not saying he wasn't good before the change. :) But I don't deny that in my opinion (humble of course) he feels more like himself when he plays Gwanghae now than few episodes ago. And I think now he's better than before. Just my opinion, of course you don't have to agree but I'm not bashing. *hides under the carpet*

Cha Seung Won is that kind of actor who made me keep my fingers crossed for terrorists (anyone seen Athena?). Okay, his sexyness helped too. ;) I've seen him in dramas and films and must say I love him the most when he plays a character that is... hmm... how to put it? Equivocal? He's not totally good or bad, he has different side. Cha Seung Won does such things incredibly good. ^^ And Gwanghae is exactly like that now. You can't say what's on his mind and you have to be careful. He may behave like a good uncle towards Joo Won but at the same time he's a very strong person no one should ignore. And that's fantastic. :)

@tulip06 @smp567

is that why Gae Shi serves all concubines herbal tea that steriles them so that there wil not be power stuggles?  Is it the king's wish t have only an heir or again GS makes own call?  I was shocked to learn that king GW has 8 concubines!!  WOW!

Yes, GaiShi and the king want to limit access to the throne. Remember ,t here's still a slew of cousins and cousins' kids from whom more potential kings can pop up.  That's where GW's successory came from.

Ah! In Woo! Did I mention that I like the way he showed up in the drama? I mean his adult version? And that he's the one who finally noticed the obvious? That Hwa Yi is a girl? :D

Just don't get it why he recognized it after looking at her hand... Hmm...

@Salma El Makhloufy@cedarwood

Totally agree.  His demonstration of different personality at different points in drama, in my opinion, deserves recognition.  From powerless, miserable, humbleness, kind, filial Prince to a determined but still human king, to a King who buried his heart to stay at the throne.  Those moments were well defined.

Picture Cr iMBC.  Sorry for the poor quality.  I took a picture of it because I thought it was cute, never intended to share.  But cant help when Salma and Cedar brought up the topic :).  Cant find on iMBC again.

Because she's quite flat up top.

@cedarwood  I think In Woo knows because her hands are thin.  A lady's fair wrist.

After few years in mines she wouldn't have delicate, lady's hands. ;)

@cedarwood , In Woo determined her sex when he held her hand as he could read her pulse while he was holding her hand.

:huh: Okay... don't laugh at me but... pulse? I mean I know what is pulse but guessing a person's sex by taking a pulse? Is that some chinese med. stuff?

@cedarwood, people who can read pulse can determine the sex of the person as men and women have different pulse rate depending on factors like age and physical condition but women usually have slightly higher pulse rates compared to men.

Thanks for that info, I was wondering how he figured it out so quickly. LoL
