He could always be her friend? I mean he was "in love" with her personality at the start and enjoyed her company so whats wrong with being friends? Online dating is always iffy cause this happens but I'm sure he doesn't look exactly like his pictures as well.

Sounds like he needs Nev and Max (Catfish). Well, if he claims he was in love based on her personality, then her looks should not play such a big factor. If he isn't willing to get to know her a little better, then well, don't even waste the girl's time. Quite frankly, it takes guts for the girl to meet him (likely knowing that she looks different). He shouldn't have had his expectations so high to begin with. It's the interwebs for goodness sake!
